["Carol of the bells" plays]
Georgie: Spinelli, you look exhausted. Do you -- coffee?
Spinelli: Oh, hey. Um, The Jackal was up all night pondering your suspicions about the clean-cut cadet.
Georgie: Ok, what do you think?
Spinelli: Well, I mean, while his behavior has been strange, I -- I don't know. I still don't see how he could be noble Emily and loyal Leticia's killer.
Georgie: Ok, consider this -- he matches the description of the man running out of my house after choking my sister, and yesterday he was standing outside that door basically stalking Maxie, sending a text message around the time she received hers.
Spinelli: Ok, well, what does the bad blond one think about all this?
Maxie: Oh -
Coop: Oh, I got it. Where does it go?
Maxie: Right there.
[Maxie chuckles]
Maxie: Thank you.
Georgie: I haven't exactly told her.
Spinelli: Look, if -- if your -- if your suspicions are correct and Coop is actually the killer, you have to inform her before it's too late.
[Coop and Maxie giggle]
[Knock]
Sam: Yey! It is you. I missed you last night. I thought you were coming by after the hospital.
Lucky: Well, I had to go to work.
Sam: Well, how's your dad?
Lucky: It was touch and go there for a while, but he pulled through.
Sam: Ok. Look, I know that your dad is sick and it must be really hard seeing him like that, but he will be back to his old self in no time.
Lucky: It's not my dad that I'm worried about. Zacchara -- he made a move on Sonny and Jason last night. If they retaliate, you could be caught in the middle.
Trevor: Has the been any movement on the docks?
Mr. Vaughn: Not since last night. All shipments in and out of the Corinthos warehouse have been suspended while the police investigate the ambush.
Trevor: Well, it's only a matter of time before Sonny retaliates, so I tell you what we're going to do -- you call a meeting of the men, increase security around the estate, and you tell them if anybody comes within a mile of this place, you take them out. No questions -- kill them.
Johnny: There is no way in hell you are going to force me into a mob war!
Jason: I talked to all our guys working harbor last night. It happened just like Max said -- the boat was hit a mile offshore. The entire shipment was taken.
Sonny: I told Bernie to double security on the waterfront.
Jason: And he did -- he did, Sonny -- it wasn't enough. This ambush was well-planned. These guys never even saw it coming.
Sonny: Well, the Zaccharas know how we deal with things. They're going to be expecting us to hit back.
Jason: I'll take care of it.
Sonny: No, no, no, no. We do nothing.
Maxie: Morning. I thought you had today off.
Georgie: Kristi wasn't feeling well, so I covered her shift.
Maxie: Oh, well, that was really nice of you.
Georgie: I need the money.
Maxie: Well, it's not just that. You're always doing things to help people out and I really respect that about you.
Georgie: Thanks.
Maxie: So, Spinelli, how's everything going with your grandmother? Is she still in Tennessee?
Spinelli: Why so curious about my granny's whereabouts?
Maxie: Just haven't heard you talk about her in a while. I wanted to make sure everything was ok.
Georgie: Ok, stop. What's going on?
Maxie: What do you mean?
Georgie: Complimenting me, checking up on Spinelli's grandmother? Why are you being so nice?
Maxie: Well, almost dying kind of forces you to put things into perspective, you know? I had to take a look at my life, I realized I wasn't such a great person, or sister, for that matter. If you hadn't walked in when you did, that guy would've killed me and I would've died with so many regrets and enemies, I wouldn't be surprised if nobody showed up at my funeral.
Coop: Hey, there is no point in talking about this, all right? You survived. Let's all try to forget that day ever happened.
Maxie: Yeah, right. I've been given a second chance and I would like to make the most of it, starting with having breakfast with you guys.
Spinelli: Uh -- look, well -- well, The Jackal would love to break bread, as it were. My cyber services are required elsewhere.
Georgie: Yeah, and you know, we're already down a waitress, so I'm going to have to take a rain check.
Maxie: Well, can't you guys make time now? I mean, it would really mean a lot to me if we could all be friends.
Lulu: I hope you're hungry.
Logan: What's this?
Lulu: Um -- waffles, a close approximation, anyway. When they get cold, it's like eating a sponge, so -
Logan: Oh -- come on in.
Lulu: My mom would make waffles every time my dad would take off to parts unknown.
Logan: Lulu, your -- your father's not going anywhere, you know? He's going to be fine. The doctors said the surgery went really well, so he -- he's going to be good.
Lulu: Yeah. When they wheeled him off to operate, I -- I went into his room to freak out alone. I mean, we're Spencers -- that's what we do. And then you came in.
Logan: Yeah, I didn't think it'd be good, you know, for you to be alone.
Lulu: I was just sitting there on his bed. I could smell his cologne still on the pillow and I just started thinking about who we are to each other, and all the good times that we've had, except we haven't had any.
Logan: Well, Lulu, you got a -- you got a different, you know, unique situation and it's not a bad thing. It's --
Lulu: It's ice fishing. That's -- that's what we have. I mean, when my dad's been gone for months living this whole other adventurous life -- jumping out of planes and chasing after whatever -- I don't even think it matters. It's just -- it's the chase. But to see him lying there on that bed hooked up to the monitors, completely helpless, it was -- huh. It's just -- it felt really good to be held and to be able to open up and -
Logan: I'm glad.
Lulu: I hate ice fishing.
Logan: Hey, hey. Hey, easy. Come here.
Lulu: Hmm.
Logan: You're ok.
Lulu: I can't do this.
Sam: How could Zacchara have hijacked Sonny and Jason's shipment last night? I thought he was locked up in some facility for the criminally insane.
Lucky: Anthony didn't give the order. His son did. Apparently, Johnny -- he's taken over the family business.
Sam: Ok, and if Johnny is anything like his father, I'm sure he's going to want to go after all the people in Jason and Sonny's life just to get what he wants.
Lucky: Sam, I know you and Jason ended things months ago, but Johnny -- he could still use you against him. Maybe you should think about hiring another bodyguard.
Sam: No, I'll be fine.
Lucky: No, I would feel better knowing that you had somebody with you all the time.
Sam: Ok, well, then why don't you move in here with me?
Sonny: If we retaliate, we play right into Johnny's hands. He's already mouthed off, threatened to take me down, and I don't -- you know, this guy -
Jason: No, I -- I don't think that Johnny wants a war.
Sonny: He doesn't know what he wants -- that's the problem. The kid is a live wire and Trevor's right there to exploit it. Why do you think Trevor doesn't care if he stays locked up? He wants to piss Johnny off so much that he acts out, ok? That's what he wants to do.
Jason: Ok, do you think Johnny's the one who ordered the ambush?
Sonny: I mean, Johnny's got a lot to prove.
Jason: But you don't make a move like that and expect no -- no retaliation.
Sonny: Kid's not smart. And he's not experienced enough to avoid a war. If we make this happen, what we got to do is set Johnny up to fail.
Johnny: I give the orders around here, not Trevor. You don't touch anyone unless I tell you to.
Mr. Vaughn: Yes, sir.
Johnny: Get out!
Trevor: John? With your father gone, Sonny thinks that it's business as usual. We sent him a clear-cut message that he doesn't control Port Charles anymore.
Johnny: This just wasn't about Sonny last night. You were trying to manipulate me and it stops now.
Trevor: John, don't get paranoid on me. We agreed to do this.
Johnny: We didn't agree to anything.
Trevor: Look. Until you learn how to conduct business the way your father did, we're going to run things together.
Johnny: This isn't just about business for you- it's personal. You took my hand in that raid last night to work your twisted vendetta against Sonny.
Trevor: Look, if we hadn't have acted, Sonny would have.
Johnny: I could've brokered a truce if you just would've stayed out of it.
Trevor: You could've brokered diddly. I offered Sonny a truce days ago and he turned it down -- you know why? Because he wants to control the shipping lanes on the eastern seaboard. And if you get in his way, he's going to take you out, so we better get him first.
["The First Noel" plays]
Maxie: So, Spinelli, what are your plans for the holidays?
Spinelli: Oh -- well, The Jackal was intending to give his granny a tour of Graceland. But in light of noble Emily's passing, I -- I feel it's my duty as Stone Cold's most trusted and loyal friend to remain in residence during these hard times. Uh -- what are your holiday plans?
Maxie: Well, Coop and I were thinking about going skiing in Vermont.
Georgie: You can't. You know how -- how much the holidays mean to Mac.
Maxie: Well, Georgie, I'm pretty sure we would make it back in time for Christmas Eve.
Georgie: Yeah, but what -- what if you guys, you know, get snowed in and you can't make it back for Christmas at all? Mac would be devastated.
Coop: I've already checked -- I've already checked the weather report. They're not supposed to get any more snow until after Christmas.
Maxie: So I guess it's settled. You guys are more than welcome to come.
Spinelli: You know, actually, The Jackal is deathly allergic to ski wax.
[Spinelli chuckles]
Coop: That's too bad. Well, we'll have to go climbing in the spring.
Spinelli: You know, I've never understood how -- you know, how anyone would enjoy dangling off the side of a mountain secured solely by a, you know, cable that could snap at any time.
Coop: Well, those cords are stronger than they look. You'd be surprised at how well they work.
Spinelli: Well, excuse me. The Jackal has to attend to some things of a dire nature. Um -- the wise one would be remiss if she did not do the same. Enjoy the yuletide.
Coop: Well, I should get going, as well. I got roll call in 20 minutes. Hey, call me if you need anything?
Maxie: Ok. Have a good day. Well, that wasn't too painful.
Georgie: You're not going to Vermont with Coop, Maxie.
["It's Christmas Time Again" plays]
Maxie: Georgie, chill out. I told you we would be back in time for Christmas.
Georgie: It's not about Christmas and Mac, Maxie. I think Coop tried to kill you.
Singer: Well, it's Christmas time again
Logan: Look, I'm sorry. I should not have done that.
Lulu: Well, it -- it was just a kiss.
Logan: I know, but you were upset and I don't want you to think I was trying to take advantage of you.
Lulu: No, I don't, I don't. I -- I don't even know how I would've gotten through yesterday and waiting for my dad to come through surgery. That why I came over.
Logan: I know, Lulu, but you don't have to make me waffles like I'm some neighbor that shoveled your driveway.
Lulu: I wanted to thank you.
Logan: I know, but the fact that I was able to be there for you -- don't you know that was enough? I'm so grateful that I've been given a second chance with you after I nearly wrecked things before they even got started with us, you know, and after hearing you talk about your father, I think I know why.
Lulu: You ice fish?
Logan: Huh -- no. It's not typical. It's -- you know, it's not easy, Lulu. In fact, it's damn messy, but you don't listen to what anybody else says. You know, you don't care that people are warning you, saying, "that guy's dangerous," you know, "just stay away from him." You make up your own mind, follow your own heart.
Lulu: I -- I should get back to Kelly's.
Logan: Yeah.
Sam: If you move in, I mean, you wouldn't have to wonder whether or not I was safe or not. I mean, we could actually be together all the time instead of just a couple of hours a week, and I'm sure it gets pretty lonely in that big house all by yourself.
Lucky: Why do you think I work the graveyard shift? You know, without Cameron and Jake there, it's just -- it's not the same. It's just too quiet, I -
Sam: Ok.
[Lucky sighs]
Sam: Ok, then move in with me and we can be together all the time.
Lucky: Sam, as tempting as that sounds --
Sam: I -- look, I'm -- sorry. I'm sorry if I'm pushing you into something that you don't want to do. Tell me, I -- I will back off.
Lucky: I don't feel -- I don't feel you're pressuring me into anything.
Sam: Do you think I'm working you?
Lucky: No -- I just know how you feel about Elizabeth and that maybe you still want to get back at her.
Sam: No. Come on, lucky, this has nothing to do with Elizabeth. Ok, fine -- it has, like, 99% nothing to do with Elizabeth? It may have started out as a way to get back at Elizabeth and Jason, but this has turned into a lot more -- I mean, at least for me it has.
Lucky: Me, too. I care about you, Sam -
Sam: Yeah.
Lucky: More than I thought I ever would.
Sam: Right, just not enough to move in.
Lucky: Sam, it's not -
Sam: No, it's fine. I get it. We've had a lot of fun, but that's about it.
Lucky: No. It's not that at all. I just lost my two boys. And I nearly lost my dad. Sam, I care out you more than I ever thought I would, and I appreciate things that I still have. And I don't want to do anything to mess that up.
Sam: Well, you couldn't.
[Phone rings]
Sam: Of course. What is it? Is it the hospital?
Lucky: No, I have to go pick up a suspect.
Trevor: John, this is commerce, I swear -- pure and simple. Port Charles has become the gateway to the northeastern corridor. And if we let Sonny and Jason control the waterfront, we're not going to be able to move product.
Johnny: I heard you gave the same speech to my father, about a day after Kate Howard moved to town and Sonny was helping her out. I'm not going to let you destroy everything my father built so you can get back at Sonny Corinthos for stealing your girlfriend.
Trevor: Your father built this organization, but I maintained it and I grew it for years. All that time, you didn't even want to know your father, and you didn't want to have anything to do with him! Now, I promised you that I'm going to teach you the ropes, but we got a war here.
Johnny: There isn't going to be a war. We're going to compromise with Sonny Corinthos.
Sonny: I'll tell you what -- Trevor has to be careful. It's one thing to pull Anthony's strings -- he was out of his mind, didn't know the difference, but, you know, Johnny's volatile. He doesn't want to be controlled by anybody. He may be stupid enough to try to start a war with us just for the hell of it.
[Knock on door]
Det. Harper: Mr. Corinthos, Mr. Morgan. I understand three of your employees got shot last night.
Sonny: Yeah -- did you find out who did it?
Det. Harper: I'm working on it. Still a few things to clear up. I'm going to have to ask you to come down to the station with me and answer a few questions.
Sonny: Come on. Oh -- all right, I'll have Diane meet you there, ok?
Alexis: That's good. Let Diane spring him out of his mess and I have time to give you a refresher course on the concept of private property. I work hard at making my home look nice.
Sonny: Ok. Alexis, it's kind of, again, a bad time right now, so -
Alexis: You say that every time I come -
Sonny: No, I know, but it's the way it is.
Alexis: Hey, listen, I'm here on behalf of my client, Kate -
Sonny: Ok.
Alexis: Who made it very clear that you are infringing on her property line and that you are not respecting her position or her boundaries, so -- don't say I didn't warn you.
Sonny: What's this?
Alexis: It's a restraining order.
Sonny: Ok, first of all, I was with Kate last night, ok? We were having a great time, and she never mentioned one thing about a restraining order.
Alexis: Really?
Sonny: Yeah, really.
Alexis: Oh, she didn't, huh? Oh -
Sonny: No.
Alexis: Poor girl has no idea what she's in for.
[Christmas music plays]
Georgie: I wouldn't accuse him unless I thought he was capable of hurting you.
Maxie: He's not.
Georgie: Maxie, he was standing outside that door yesterday staring at you, sending a text message, and it was around the same time you got the text message from the killer.
Maxie: Georgie, that doesn't prove anything. Everybody knows Coop text-messages, everyone text-messages. It's the only way anyone communicates anymore.
Georgie: He's stalking you, Maxie.
Maxie: Or he was just trying to figure out whether or not he should bother giving me another chance. I mean, after all the stupid, self-destructive things I've done, I can't say that I blame him.
Georgie: How much do you really know about him -- I mean, really? What do you know about his life before you met him?
Maxie: Oh, no! Don't -- don't shoot me! Don't, please.
Coop: What the hell did you do that for?
Maxie: Well, I thought you might be roasting.
Coop: Give me one good reason not to kill you.
Maxie: All I need to know.
Johnny: I'm going to meet with Sonny and work out a deal that will allow us to use the Corinthos-Morgan piers at a shared profit. In exchange, I'll offer to keep the peace.
Trevor: "Shared profit"? Are you kidding me? What do you think we're running here, a commune? All you got to know is that Sonny and Jason know that you killed three men and you stole nearly a million dollars worth of product. You go down there and talk to them, they're going to -- kill you before you open your mouth.
Johnny: You've been using my father's name for years to hide behind your own agenda and Sonny knows it.
Trevor: Hmm.
Johnny: Last night was no different.
Trevor: Come on, go ahead. Be my guest, Johnny. Go ahead, whine to Sonny -- "it's all Trevor's fault. It's all his fault." You know what he's going to think about you? That you are nothing but weak.
Man: Detective Spencer's here.
Johnny: Let him in.
Trevor: What can we do for you, detective?
Lucky: There was a shooting on the docks last night. You're wanted downtown for questioning.
Trevor: Go ahead, I'll meet you there.
Johnny: Don't. I can do this more efficiently without your counsel.
Jason: You can talk all you want. I'm not going to say anything without my attorney.
Det. Harper: Well, you can listen until she gets here. Someone is going around town strangling women. First victim was your boss' nanny, the second, his ex-girlfriend, the third, his ex-wife. Carly's the only one to survive and guess who supposedly saved her --Jjohn Zacchara. When Detective Spencer brought that same John Zacchara down for questioning, you wasted no time sending your attorney down here to get him released. A couple hours later, Zacchara repays you by hijacking one of your shipments and shooting three of your men. Now, what I can't figure out is why you bothered to protect Zacchara at all -- unless you wanted him out so you can kill him yourself.
