Sonny: Kate has known what I do from day one. I've made no secret of the fact that my business is dangerous and I have to take precautions with the people that I care about -- you know that.
Alexis: I do know that. You know what? I'm -- I'm here as your friend. I'm here -- I'm trying to help you. I don't want you to mess this up. She's a nice girl. She's also an independent, free-thinking woman who's very capable of providing for her own security.
Sonny: I'm not going to have this discussion with you, because, look, I'm going to protect Kate whether she likes it or not -- that's just the way it has to be.
Alexis: There lies the problem. Don't you see this? You pursue women without any understanding of how your life affects theirs -- and it does, it really does. I know. I have the experience of -- of seeing how difficult a relationship with you can be.
Sonny: Kate and I are going to be able to deal with this and, look, if you cannot be objective about this, you need to tell Kate to find a lawyer who can.
Man: Lulu Spencer's here to see Mr. Zacchara.
Trevor: Oh, send her in.
Lulu: Oh. Um -- I'm sorry. I was here to see Johnny.
Trevor: Oh, he stepped out. But is there anything I can help you with?
Lulu: Huh -- no. I don't think so.
Trevor: It must've been really important for you to come all this way.
Lulu: I just came by to thank Johnny for driving us to the hospital and update him on my dad's progress. He left before we knew anything.
Trevor: Well, he actually stayed there for quite a while with me after he dropped you off.
Lulu: He did?
Trevor: Yeah. I had a guard follow him.
Lulu: Huh, yeah. No, I -- I didn't see him.
Trevor: Well, that's because you were probably with your father. Anyway, you can tell him yourself, or I can pass the message on.
Lulu: Well, I'm sure you'll see Johnny before I do.
Trevor: I thought that you talked really often.
Lulu: No, I don't think my boyfriend would like that very much.
Trevor: I can understand that. John has gotten into trouble lately -- some really iffy situations.
Lulu: What happened?
Trevor: Right now, he's down at the Port Charles police station. They're questioning him about a triple homicide. It's probably better that you keep your distance.
Lulu: Huh.
["Greensleeves" plays]
Logan: Georgie, have you seen Lulu?
Georgie: No. She's not on the schedule today. But it's changing all the time, so I could be mistaken.
Logan: All right, um -- if you see her, would you let her know that I was looking for her?
Georgie: Sure.
Logan: Thanks.
Georgie: Logan, wait. Do you have a minute to talk? I sort of -- I wanted to ask your opinion on something.
Logan: Why? You can't stand me.
Georgie: Ok -- point taken. I don't like what you and Maxie did to Lulu. But Lulu seems to have forgiven you, so I guess I should, too. Everyone deserves a second chance, right?
Logan: I guess. What can I do for you?
Georgie: How long have you known Coop?
Logan: Why?
Georgie: He and Maxie are starting up a relationship again and I just want to make sure that he's the right person for her.
Logan: Oh, I'd be more worried about Coop getting hurt in that deal than Maxie. She is the one that cheated on him, trashed his relationship.
Georgie: Ok, ok, all right. I understand that Maxie's made a lot of mistakes.
Logan: Yeah.
Georgie: But almost dying last night has really put some things into perspective for her. She's determined to be a good person. Logan, I just want to make sure that the people in her life are good, too.
Logan: Well, you know, Coop's a decent guy -- even better soldier. You know, the type of guy you want next to you in a firefight -- strong, fearless. Once Coop got started, there was -- there was no stopping him till the job was done.
Georgie: Are you saying that Coop was good at killing people?
Logan: Well, I've known Coop for a number of years now, and he's always been obsessive - yeah, obsessive -- about finishing whatever he sets out to do.
Det. Harper: I know you don't have much faith in law enforcement, but I am doing everything I can to find the person who strangled Emily. If it turns out to be John Zacchara, I will see to it that he pays, but in order for that to happen, I need your full cooperation.
Jason: I have nothing to say without my attorney.
Det. Harper: Fine. You're free to go.
Maxie: Your dress from the boutique, all the alterations were made for your shoot on Monday.
Sam: Oh, thank you. I was just about to make a cup of coffee. Do you want a cup?
Maxie: Yeah, sure. Do you think I can get it to go, though? I want to do a surprise for Coop and I want to make sure it's finished before he gets off work.
Sam: Uh -- I thought you and Coop broke up.
Maxie: Well, we did, but we started talking a few weeks ago, which is a miracle in itself considering how upset he was about my deal that I made with Logan. He wasn't sure if he could trust me anymore, but after yesterday, that all went out the window. I guess it took me nearly dying for Coop to realize life's too short to waste any time.
Sam: Whoa, whoa, whoa. What are you talking about?
Maxie: Oh, so, someone broke into Mac's house and I went home to change for work yesterday and the next thing I know, I had a phone cord wrapped around my neck. I couldn't breathe, you know? If Georgie hadn't walked in when she did, I would probably be dead.
Sam: Wow. I mean, that must've been terrifying.
Maxie: As awful as it was, I'm strangely grateful that it brought me and Coop back together.
Georgie: Hi, hi. I need you to help me find out everything you can on -- come here -- on Coop starting with his military record. I was talking to Logan today and apparently, Coop is not such a great soldier. Um -- he was borderline obsessive with his missions in Iraq, which goes way beyond dedication. So there's got to be something in that file that can convince Maxie that he's not the person she thinks he is. Why are you still sitting here?
Spinelli: I just -- The Jackal would advise you to consider your source of said information before lending it too much credence. I mean, come on -- the simian one?
Georgie: My sister nearly died and she's still in danger and all you can think about is -- is being jealous of Logan?
Spinelli: I'm -- I'm sorry. My apologies, wise one. The Jackal will do whatever he can to help, ok?
Georgie: I'm sorry, Spinelli. I'm -- I'm really sorry. I shouldn't be taking this out on you. I'm just -- I'm really worried about Maxie. What if this entire time, Logan has been the safe one and Cooper is the real psycho?
Lucky: Now, this is convenient. The two men who would know what went down last night at the docks are both here in the same room. Who wants to go first -- Jason? Yeah, I didn't think so. Let's go.
Det. Harper: Take him in there. I'm done with Morgan.
Lucky: You know, that was some look that Morgan gave you. I'm guessing that he knows you were the guy who jumped his shipment. I hope you're ready for the fallout because you just started a mob war.
[Knock on door]
Sonny: Yeah?
Lulu: Hi.
Sonny: If you're looking for Spinelli, he's not -
Lulu: Actually, I -- I came to see you. I probably should've called or something first.
Sonny: No, no, come in.
Lulu: Ok. Ahem. Uh -
Sonny: What's going on?
Lulu: I know that this is none of my business, but will you please still hear me out? Johnny Zacchara is being questioned by the cops about the shooting, but he had nothing to do with it.
Sonny: What do you know about the shooting?
Lulu: Nothing, but I do know Johnny. And he may be messed up because of his psycho father, but he had nothing to do with what happened on the docks.
Sonny: Yeah, you're right -- it's none of your business. Ahem.
Lulu: I mean, Sonny, maybe if you'd talk to -
Sonny: Ok, listen. Johnny chose to take over his father's business. It's up to him to deal with the consequences.
Sam: Here you go.
Maxie: Thank you. You're so sweet.
Sam: You're welcome.
Maxie: Anyway, I should get going. Coop gets off work in a couple of hours and I haven't even started his surprise yet.
Sam: Hey, I was -- I was thinking. I mean, just hear me out here. How would you and Coop like to spend the night here tomorrow night? I've got to go to work in Manhattan and I won't be back until Saturday, so I was thinking that maybe you could make him a romantic dinner, maybe use the hot tub. I don't know, but I guarantee it's going to be a lot more romantic than the room at Kelly's.
Maxie: Thank you so much, Sam. That will be so awesome.
Sam: You're welcome. Just promise me one thing, please.
Maxie: We will keep this place spotless. You will never know we were even here.
Sam: No, no, no, it has nothing to do with this place. Just promise me that you're going to be careful. Someone tried to kill you and I don't want whoever this guy is to get another chance.
Georgie: What's taking so long?
Spinelli: Look, it -- it's not as if you've asked me to jackal driving records from the D.M.V., ok? I -- I have to -- I have to access a government server which is constantly monitored for even the slightest breach, and then hack into military personal personnel records to find the dd-214 for one Cooper H. Barrett.
[Computer beeps]
Georgie: What, what?
Spinelli: I'm -- there it is. Um -- wow, huh -- the not-so-clean cadet's full service records and discharge papers and, well, for once, it looks like the unworthy one was speaking the truth. Ok, look. Um -- Sergeant Barrett was awarded many commendations for his service in Iraq. He was trained in special forces and then assigned to an elite unit, where it looks like he had many missions to practice on.
Georgie: Wow, well, that explains how -- how he was able to kill -- or at least try to kill -- four women without getting caught. Now all we have to do is prove it's him.
Det. Rodriguez: Busted.
Coop: Hey, Rodriguez.
Det. Rodriguez: How do you think Mac's going to react when I tell him about this?
Coop: I was just checking on Maxie.
Det. Rodriguez: You almost broke your hand flipping the phone closed. Hey, man, me and my girlfriend do it all the time -- text-message each other a little sex talk? And the pictures? Keeps things interesting. That look on your face -
Coop: Yeah, well, you got me.
Det. Rodriguez: Could you imagine if Mac saw the stuff that you we're sending?
Coop: Scary thought.
Det. Rodriguez: Whew. What's scary is that even after you delete the stuff, it's never really gone. There's some geek out there who can dig it up, so be careful.
Coop: All right. Thanks. Hey, if you happen to run into Maxie, don't tell her that I haven't been at work.
Det. Rodriguez: Why not?
Coop: Well, I'm kind of planning something that I want to be a surprise.
Sonny: How'd it go?
Jason: The cops think the Zaccharas are behind the ambush, of course. But of course, they have no evidence to prove that, and then Lucky was bringing Johnny in for questioning as I was leaving.
Sonny: Did he say anything?
Jason: Not to me.
Sonny: Ahem. Nobody wins in a war -- too many innocent people get hurt, you know? I want to avoid that at all costs. But don't get me wrong -- the day will come when we have to take Johnny Zacchara down.
Det. Harper: Three men were gunned down last night outside the Corinthos-Morgan warehouse. Two were pronounced dead on the scene, the third died in surgery. According to several eyewitnesses, they were ambushed while waiting for a shipment. You want to tell me where you were around 9:00?
Lucky: Of course not. Old Johnny boy here -- he took a page out of Jason Morgan's book. The difference is you gave up your right to have an attorney present. That means we can keep you here as long as we want.
Det. Harper: Or until he answers the question -- where were you last night around 9:00?
Johnny: General Hospital.
Det. Harper: What were you doing there?
Lucky: You went to see Lulu, didn't you? Didn't you?
Det. Harper: Officer Spencer!
Lucky: You know what -- I don't care who you are! You stay the hell away from my family! I'm not telling you again.
Nurse: Uh -- your dad's down having tests.
Lulu: Oh.
Nurse: And someone left this for you at the desk.
Lulu: Thank you.
Nurse: Mm-hmm.
Logan: Hey, what's that?
Lulu: Um -- a note from Bobbie. It was just -
Logan: Oh. Hey, are -- are we ok, you know?
Lulu: You -- oh, you mean about before? I -- I told you I didn't think that you were taking advantage.
Logan: All right. Well, I just -- I want to be sure, Lulu, because I don't want there to be, you know, anything left unsaid between us.
Lulu: We're ok.
Logan: Well, how about you let me make it up to you anyway? How about dinner tomorrow night, huh?
Lulu: Oh, oh, I can't. I promised Elizabeth that I would baby-sit for Cam and Jake.
Logan: Oh.
Trevor: John is determined to keep the peace with Corinthos. So, of all the people we know, who would be most likely to ensure that John sees this war through? Lulu Spencer.
Mr. Vaughn: Not for nothing, boss, but one can make Johnny do anything he doesn't want to do.
Trevor: Well, unless he's given the proper motivation, so I tell you what I've done. I wrote a letter to Lulu, presumably from Johnny, asking her to meet him down at the docks tomorrow night. She thinks that she's got a date and Johnny thinks that he's going to meet Jason Morgan. Well, you're going to be waiting there for them and when they show up --
Mr. Vaughn: You want me to take Johnny out?
Trevor: Nah. Spare the kid but kill the girl and make it look like Corinthos ordered it.
>> On the next "General Hospital" -
Coop: Where are we supposed to meet? Maxie: The last place anyone will think of looking for us. Spinelli: I'm trying to find some proof that Cooper Barrett is the text-message killer. Sonny: Go ahead and say what you got to say.
