Judge: The defense may now present its case.
Luke: Finally.
Lawyer: I call Barbara Jean Spencer to the stand. Ms. Spencer, what is your relationship with the defendant?
Bobbie: Well, he's my big brother, but he was a lot more to me when we were growing up. I mean, he was the closest thing I ever had to a parent. He was my best friend. Luke was the person that I looked to for guidance.
Lawyer: For example?
Bobbie: He encouraged me to become a prostitute.
Lawyer: Oh.
Bobbie: No, there's more. When Luke discovered that my daughter was alive and living in Port Charles going by the name of "Carly," he lied to my face and told me she was dead.
Luke: This is my defense?
Lawyer: I call Lucky Spencer to the stand. Mr. Spencer, please tell the court about your relationship with your father.
Lucky: Imagine a father bigger than life. A father who understood you and guided you and gave you all the tools to get on in the real world. Well, that's not my dad.
Lawyer: He took an unconventional approach?
Lucky: Oh, he hated being a father. Yeah, he'd tell you straight up. He only did it for my mom, and then he'd use any excuse and bail on her to go on some great adventure, which mostly involved a lot of booze and women.
Lawyer: Exaggerated claims, no doubt overheard by the witness from the defendant's detractors.
Lucky: Oh, I was there. He dragged me all around the world when I was a kid, giving me these lessons in life. The things that he drilled into me -- contempt for my brother, contempt for the law.
Lawyer: And through these things, you gained -
Lucky: Yeah, lying, cheating, running a scam.
Lawyer: You gained insight into the real world. He prepared you for the harsh realities.
Lucky: It didn't prepare me for when I found out that he raped my mother.
Lawyer: That'll be all. Thank you. That's it. No more questions. Ooh. Tough witness.
Judge: Do you wish to cross-examine?
Prosecutor: I have only one question for this witness, your honor. Do you think Luke Spencer was a good father?
Lucky: I don't think he was any kind of father at all.
Alexis: Who's dead?
Jerry: The deal. The deal -- the deal I'm working on, if I don't make it happen soon.
Alexis: What are you doing in my office?
Jerry: Well, I'm working on bringing some funds out of the country as soon as legally possible, and since you are my attorney -
Alexis: Not if you break into my office, I'm not.
Jerry: Oh, no, no, no, the door was unlocked.
Alexis: I never leave my door unlocked.
Jerry: No, no, you probably forgot because of that big award and, you know -
Alexis: You know, first you break into my office -
Jerry: No, I did not break --
Alexis: Now you're insulting me.
Jerry: I didn't mean to -
Alexis: See, that makes it even worse -- that's how deep your misogyny runs. You think that I'm acting like a giddy little schoolgirl because I was nominated. It's "Woman Litigator of the Year," by the way.
Jerry: Yes, it's a real honor.
Alexis: It's not prom queen. And just because I was singled out as one of the top attorneys in the country doesn't mean that I just let all reason fly right out the window.
Jerry: Of course not, Alexis.
Alexis: True, I'm honored, a little nervous. I'm in a bit of a quandary about what I'm going to wear, but I am in total control of my surroundings.
Woman: Ms. Davis, you missed your meeting with the city council.
Ric: Yeah, it was late spring. Been raining like crazy and the weather finally let up. Whole yard was -- it was bursting with life, and Molly wanted to see it all, she wanted to touch it all. I don't know -- watching her, I felt -- connected, you know? Part of it. For the moment.
Skye: Maybe you should try simplifying your life instead of complicating it.
Ric: You're a welcome complication.
Skye: Well, the waterfront property I own, anyway.
Ric: Still not sure that I can be trusted, is that right?
Skye: Well, I've made a lot of mistakes.
Ric: Look, Skye, something happened the night of the ball. I mean, after I got pinned to the wall. You know, the two of us got thrown together. We got a chance to see each other. You know, really see each other for who we are. You know, we're a lot alike.
Skye: Exactly.
Ric: I know both of us have been burned, and -
Skye: Too many times to count.
Ric: Look, I'm -- I'm -- I -- I don't have any logic to make you think that this is going to be any different. I just think that this could be the start of something good.
Skye: I'll get back to you on that.
Ric: You do that.
Kate: Are you ok?
Sonny: Yeah, I'm just not big on jail cells, you know?
Kate: Well, which makes me wonder -
Sonny: What's that?
Kate: Why you really attacked Geoffrey knowing there'd be repercussions.
Sonny: I may dress better than I did in high school, but I never really left Bensonhurst, if you know what I mean. I'm still a street fighter.
Kate: Hmm. I don't remember you being a bully.
Sonny: The guy -- he rubbed me the wrong way. He deserved what was coming, end of story. I'm sorry, Ms. Howard, that I ruined your night.
Kate: Mr. Corinthos, I just rescued you from NYPD lockup. It's not nice to lie to me. Mmmm... what are you eating?
Sonny: I'm not lying.
Kate: Fine. You're leaving out a large portion of the truth, like what prompted you to introduce Geoffrey's face to a wall at the art gallery?
Sonny: I told you already -
Kate: A physically unimposing man whose chief weapon is his -
Sonny: I lost my cool -- one of those things.
Kate: Big, fat, spiteful mouth. Geoffrey's too much of a coward to insult you directly, so I have to assume he was insulting me, hmm?
Sonny: Well -
Kate: Rumors were flying around the art gallery of my possible return to "Couture," and I know how Geoffrey's nasty little mind works. He was dishing dirt on me and probably said I was sleeping with Warren James to get my job back.
Sonny: You know what? I'm glad I rammed his head into that wall.
Kate: Damn straight.
Leo: Ahem.
Tracy: Well?
Lucky: How is he?
Leo: We were able to get his heart back in rhythm.
Tracy: Is he going to be all right?
Leo: We're going to have to run tests before we know if he sustained any damage to the valves I just replaced, so -- excuse me.
Lulu: What happened? I thought dad was doing better.
Tracy: This is what happened. Luke Spencer is what happened. Either he lives his life his way, or not at all.
Lulu: I basically grew up without either of my parents. I got real sick when I was little, and they divorced right after that. My mom had a mental breakdown, and my dad didn't want any part of being a single father.
Lawyer: Well, he did reach out to you, in his own special way.
Luke: Ask her about the ice fishing.
Lulu: He took me three times. I mean, the way he talks about it, you'd think it was this huge bonding experience, but we just sat there with our lines in the water. It was too cold to even talk. I think that's why he took me.
Lawyer: During the encephalitis scare at the hospital, turned out that your father had a natural immunity, and he agreed to let them draw blood to make an antidote, as long as you were given the antidote first.
Luke: She should've been first, but the -- the list got switched.
Lulu: I was glad for that. You were so afraid that I was going to die that you never left my side. You were the father that I always wanted. But he said that he never wanted kids, and he never wanted me. So I knew not to trust it. I knew it wouldn't last.
Judge: Does the defense wish to call any further witnesses?
Lawyer: The defense rests.
Luke: What about closing arguments?
Judge: There will be no closing arguments in my court.
Luke: Oh, give me a break, your honor. You know, you seem like a very intelligent, reasonable man. You're handsome. You know, the -- the distinguished robe and the hair and everything. It really works for you.
Judge: Thank you, Mr. Spencer. But your good taste is not in dispute. We'll go straight to the jury.
Luke: What jury?
Judge: How does the jury find?
Scott: Guilty!
Edward: Guilty.
Lesley: Guilty.
Mac: Guilty.
Carly: Guilty.
Nikolas: Guilty.
Skye: Guilty.
Alexis: Guilty.
Bobbie: Guilty.
Lucky: Guilty.
Lulu: Guilty.
Tracy: Not guilty.
Prosecutor: But you testified against him!
Tracy: I know. Now I'm testifying for him. Luke is not a perfect father. God knows he's not a perfect husband. He's a deeply flawed m. But despite all of those flaws, he has been there for each and every one of us. He would not condemn us, and we cannot condemn him. Not guilty.
[Lulu sighs]
Lulu: I -- I'm changing my vote. Not guilty.
Lucky: Not guilty.
Bobbie: Not guilty.
Skye: Not guilty. But not innocent by a long shot.
Alexis: Not guilty.
Carly: Not completely guilty.
Nikolas: Not guilty.
Lesley: Not guilty.
Mac: Not guilty.
Edward: Not guilty -- this time.
Scott: All right, all right. Not guilty, only because I want a good rummy around to insult.
Lawyer: Yes!
Judge: By unanimous decision, the defendant, Lucas Lorenzo Spencer, is found not guilty.
Luke: Thanks for the assist, wife.
Tracy: Thank god you're alive. Because now I'm going to kill you, you selfish son of a bitch.
Kate: Ok, now I'm going to order you a nice meal.
Sonny: Um -
Kate: What?
Sonny: Just, I got to say something. All this time, I've been thinking about you as Connie, seeing the Bensonhurst girl beneath the high-gloss finish, making fun of what you've accomplished.
Kate: Well, that's because you know me like no one else.
Sonny: Well, what I'm -- what I'm trying to say is that's what I'm -- I can see now that you -- it's not a put-on. You're -- you're the real deal. I mean, you're confident, you're smooth, you're smart, you're connected. The way you played those cops -- I mean, they -- they -- they didn't know what hit them.
Kate: I wasn't playing them. The detective and his wife will get their tickets, and the captain will get her photo session.
Sonny: What I'm saying is, you have the power to get whatever you want in your world, and -- now I can see why you're so determined to stay in it.
Kate: Any chance you might stay in it with me?
[Phone rings]
Elizabeth: 10th floor. Yes, she is. Epiphany, it's the Florida State Police.
Epiphany: This is -- this is Stanford Johnson's mother. How's my boy? Did you -- did you find him? Is he -- is he o-- is he o-- no. There must -- there must be some kind of mistake. No! No!
Alexis: All right, so maybe I'm a little scattered. And maybe I left the door unlocked.
Jerry: No, no, no need to apologize. I mean -- but perhaps you can make it up to me.
Alexis: Hmm. How?
Jerry: By allowing me to buy you a drink to celebrate your nomination, and to prove to you that I'm not the breaking-and-entering lout that you imagined. Come on, one drink -- to celebrate the woman litigator of the year.
Alexis: All right.
[Jerry chuckles]
Alexis: One.
Jerry: All right. Oh. Excuse me. Excuse me, I have to take this. Hello? [French accent] How is that matter coming along?
Man: Stan Johnson's dead. It's confirmed. He won't be bothering you anymore.
Jerry: Excellent. Ok. [Normal voice] Shall we?
>> On the next "General Hospital" -
Felicia: I want to help you catch who murdered my daughter! Mac: We've got something. Johnny: I was sending a message. Trevor: You think Moreau would agree with you? Jerry: [French accent] Children need to be disciplined, don't you think? Carly: Is Sonny going to start a war with Johnny Zacchara?
