Ric: What's wrong? I thought the evening was going so well.
Skye: I know exactly where this is going.
Ric: It can go wherever we want it to, Skye. We're two very smart, powerful people -- think of what we could do together.
Skye: That's exactly the problem.
Alexis: If I knew we were going to drive 400 miles to Philadelphia -- do you even see that block of ice right there?
Diane: Yes, I see it, I see it.
[Tires screech]
Alexis: Do you mind? My back is already killing me.
Diane: It's because you don't have a good core workout regimen to keep you limber.
Alexis: I have two children -- they keep me limber.
Diane: You obviously need some serious relaxation techniques to avoid those stressors.
Alexis: There's a curve up there.
Diane: I see the curve.
Alexis: You're going so fast, I don't know how you see the curve. The only thing that's stressing me out is your driving.
Diane: Ok, someone needs to stop complaining right now. You are the reason we got thrown off that plane.
Alexis: No, the reason we got thrown off that plane is because I was defending your rights as an airline passenger.
Diane: Which, by the way, is the only reason that I took pity on you when this was the last luxury sedan in the rental lot. That, and the fact that I want to make sure you're at that ceremony to see me take -
Alexis: Slow down. Could you slow -- could you please slow down? I can't see the roads, and we need to find the road to get us back onto the highway -- that you got us off on and that we shouldn't have gotten off -
Diane: There was an accident, and I wasn't going to waste time.
Alexis: Like we're wasting time right now?
Diane: I have the navigational sense of a compass, missy.
Alexis: Right.
Diane: I am not about to miss that awards ceremony.
Alexis: Did you ever think that they just put you on that list to round out the program and make it fair?
Diane: No, that would be Carol Wingate.
Alexis: Oh, god, I hate her.
[Diane chuckles]
Alexis: She's an insufferable ambulance chaser.
Diane: Oh, no, no, no, you didn't hear?
Alexis: No. What?
Diane: Strictly a divorce attorney.
Alexis: No. No!
Diane: The woman could not litigate her way out of a paper bag.
Alexis: Well, we agree on that.
Diane: At least we know she won't be winning tonight.
Alexis: Hmm. Maybe it won't be such a bad night after all.
[Alexis giggles]
[Tire blows out]
Alexis: Ah!
Diane: Oh! Oh!
Alexis: What now?
Sonny: I need legal advice to get me out of a restraining order, and my lawyer takes off right now to win some fancy doorstop.
Max: Boss, it's a Litigator of the Year award -
Sonny: I mean, look, you know, I got to come back after a couple of days, what do I find -- excuses, loose ends. It doesn't end for me.
Max: It's an honor for her to even be nominated. I mean, Ms. -- Ms. Miller -- it's an honor for her to be -
Sonny: Max! I got shot at in the middle of a restaurant, Kate almost took the bullet. She finally ran right back to Manhattan. Do we have who's responsible, Max? No. All the money that I pay out, all the informants that I have on the street, working with the police department -- do we know anything? No!
Max: Not yet.
Sonny: I want you to find the bullet that ties the shooter to Johnny Zacchara, and I want you to do it now.
Trevor: Look, John, the night that Sonny Corinthos had that sniper fire at me in a crowded restaurant, he started a war. Now, we can win this war if we get an ally like Moreau. Now, let's sit down and negotiate with him.
Johnny: Negotiate by moving what?
Trevor: Anything he wants.
Johnny: I can't do this now, and you need to stop calling me about it.
Trevor: You put this gentleman off, and there are going to be consequences.
Johnny: Then I'll deal with them. Right now, I'm going to see my father.
Trevor: Why?
Jason: He looks so happy.
Elizabeth: You should've been there to share these moments with him.
Jason: We agreed. It's safer for Jake if no one knows the truth.
Sam: That's right, Carly. Jake is Jason's son.
Carly: You are so bitter that he dumped you.
Sam: No, he didn't dump me. He lied to me -
Carly: And you're so jealous of my friendship with him.
Sam: It is not a friendship. I am sorry, it's not, it's warped. You are a twisted, selfish, meddling bitch who can't stand the idea of Jason being with another woman, even if it's just a friendship. You have had it in for me from the start.
Carly: No, I saw through you from the start. How many beds did you bounce from -- Jax, Sonny, Jason? God, and to think you could've tied Jason down.
Sam: Oh, that's right, your poor, poor, godlike Jason. You were thrilled when you found out that I couldn't get pregnant because you knew what a son means to Jason. And now Elizabeth -- oh, holier-than-thou Elizabeth, who you just might dislike a teeny bit more than me, has given him the son he's always wanted. I mean, that's certainly something that you haven't given him. And he didn't tell you -- his big, best friend.
Diane: It's a blown tire.
Alexis: I can see that, Diane. If you had done what I asked you to do and driven slowly, this wouldn't have happened.
Diane: The tire was obviously defective. The mechanic at my auto club will confirm it.
Alexis: My mechanic would've said that you are a bad driver, that's what. Oh, my god, my battery is dead.
Diane: Forget your battery -- we've got no cell service anyway, wherever we are. Where the hell are we?
Alexis: Aren't you paying attention?
Diane: How could I pay attention, Alexis, with your incessant yammering? If you had just navigated -
Alexis: So now what do we do?
Diane: Now we change a tire!
Alexis: We are going to change the tire?
Diane: Ok, that suggests to me that you have never changed a tire before.
Alexis: Yeah, I've changed tires before. I just don't want to get dirty.
Diane: "I don't want to get dirty."
Alexis: Besides, you're the responsible party --
[Car chirps]
Alexis: You were the one that was driving.
Diane: I didn't hit anything.
Alexis: Just do something, will you, because I'm freezing.
Diane: Ok, the first thing we have to do is pop the trunk.
Alexis: There.
Diane: Oh. Good. All right, now, we just need the spare tire -
Alexis: And the appropriate tools.
Diane: Right.
Alexis: Now, they should be in there somewhere.
Diane: Yes, they should.
Alexis: Why aren't they there?
Diane: I don't know.
Alexis: This sucks. Don't touch me.
Diane: I just -- I just tripped. Stop it.
Alexis: Stop it.
Diane: Stop it.
Skye: I just went down this road with another man.
Ric: I am not Lorenzo Alcazar.
Skye: Yeah, well, from where I'm standing, there are plenty of similarities -- charismatic guy with hunger issues.
Ric: Lorenzo was ready to take your child away from you and make you a virtual prisoner.
Skye: Lorenzo loved me. In his way, he did. But his first love was power, it was an obsession -- just like you getting revenge on your brother is an obsession for you. Tell me, Ric, what part of your life isn't about that?
Ric: My daughter.
Skye: And who has her?
Ric: Look, I acted to protect Molly from my father's threats. That's the only reason that I gave custody to Alexis.
Skye: Who happens to share a daughter with Sonny.
Ric: Do you think that I would give up the most precious thing that I have in the world to me because I want to be closer to my brother's child just in case?
Skye: I think your whole relationship with Alexis is tangled up with some perverse pleasure of sticking it to your brother, that's what I think.
Ric: Unlike Lorenzo, there are things that I won't do, there are lines that I won't cross.
Skye: How do you know? How does anybody know? Ok, look -- I'm an alcoholic. I am addicted not just to booze. You see, I'm -- I'm drawn to you.
Ric: Yeah, and I you. And why can't that be a good thing?
Skye: Because, Ric, there are some things that I have -- something that you want, something that a lot of people want.
Ric: This is not about -- come on, you think this is -- that's all this is about, is the piers?
Skye: Whoever ends up with those piers -- whether it's Sonny or the Zaccharas or Trevor or you -- would have a lot of power in this town.
Ric: Yeah, Skye. We could hold that power together.
Skye: Yeah, but, you see, I'd always wonder if that's what you really wanted from me. And in the end, it would probably destroy us.
Elizabeth: Look -- he's holding the present you left him. Was this a bad idea -- bringing the pictures?
Jason: It's our son's first Christmas.
Elizabeth: Yeah, but it's a reminder of all the moments you're missing.
Jason: Whew. That's why I want to see him. I mean, even if I can't be with Jake, I need to know he's happy and safe and that I'm doing this for a reason.
Elizabeth: I couldn't be that strong.
Jason: You are that strong.
Elizabeth: I couldn't stand to be away from you.
Jason: I am not going to let Jake suffer for the choices that I made. No matter how much I love him, no matter how much I try to protect him, you know he would suffer.
Elizabeth: I don't want to believe that.
Jason: Neither do I. And neither does any father, but I see it -
Elizabeth: In Michael?
Jason: I look at Johnny Zacchara, and I worry that I'm looking at Michael's future. It makes me know I do not want that for Jake. It reassures me that I'm doing the right thing. And being here with you -- it makes it bearable for me.
Sam: It took me a little while to get over the shock, too. And with you and Jason being such B.F.F. and all, I'm sure the betrayal you must be feeling is, like, ugh.
Carly: There was a D.N.A. test.
Sam: And you think Elizabeth is above lying? Really? I was there the night Jake was born, I saw that baby in Jason's arms, I heard him say the words "my son."
Carly: And you kept it quiet all this time?
Sam: Not out of the goodness of my heart, trust me on that.
Carly: That's the truth, Sam.
Sam: It is all the truth -- every last word I can see you're being slammed by -- and they did look like quite the happy family that night. And there I was on the outside, there was Lucky on the outside, and here you are, Carly -- most definitely not as inside the inner circle as you think, huh?
Carly: All I have to do is go to Jason, and he will tell me that this is a lie.
Sam: Will he? Or is he just going to keep on lying? Because, after all, he and Elizabeth share something the two of you never will.
Carly: Get out!
Sam: Pleasure.
Alexis: Hurry up.
Diane: I'm going to kill you.
Alexis: Ok, ow! Now, you -- would you pick this up and get the directions out from under there, please? Thank you very much.
Diane: There fine. There you go.
Alexis: Now, it says you're supposed to lift up the car slightly so the tire's a little off the ground.
Diane: Ok, that's your job. I just brought the tire over.
Alexis: And if I hadn't read the owner's manual, there would be no tire. Come on, Diane, you're the one who claims to like to operate heavy machinery. Surely you can probably pick the car up on your own.
Diane: Fine, fine, fine. You know what? Let's see you do it.
Alexis: Fine, I'll do it! Ok, watch this.
Max: Boss, Jason still thinks it's a setup -- that Trevor Lansing staged the whole shooting to make it look like Johnny Zacchara was behind it all.
Sonny: Jason has been making excuses for Johnny -- you know, like giving him the benefit of the doubt like he's some confused kid. What do you want me to say to you?
Max: I think he just wants to make sure we got the right guy.
Sonny: Ok, Anthony Zacchara is paralyzed in lockup like some talking head of lettuce. If Johnny says "I'm in charge," then he seems like the right guy, doesn't he, Max?
Max: Look, Jason thinks that Trevor Lansing's pulling the strings. It wasn't Johnny's old man -
Sonny: Hey, I'm not doubting -- will you let me talk?
Max: Yes.
Sonny: I'm not doubting that Trevor, you know, may have something to do with it, but -- but Jason's not the only one thinking right now. I don't see Johnny begging for understanding. My shipment was taken out, two of my men are dead, you were shot in the arm. What do you want me to do -- wait for the next time that you're not so lucky?
Max: I hear -
Sonny: Ok, seriously, hear me. We got to find a way to hit back. Now, I gave Johnny a chance to be an ally. He chose to lie with dogs instead, so in the end, he's going to die like one.
Johnny: It's me.
Anthony: I know who the hell it is. I'm better than anybody thinks. I moved my foot today -- the left one, or the right one -- I don't know. Don't look like I'm crazy. I moved my foot. Where's your mother? Ask her -- she knows, she was here.
Johnny: Yeah, you're doing great.
Anthony: Don't talk back to me like you're the one in charge. It's me, I'm the one. I call the shots. If you don't think I'll get out of this bed and kick your ass, you're wrong. Your mother is too soft. So soft, beautiful. That's why I didn't see that she betrayed me -- chose you over me. Well, bitch is dead now anyway, and there's stuff to do.
John: Trevor's handling things.
Anthony: Yeah, he would. He likes that, likes to handle things. He wanted to "handle" your mother, if you know what I mean. But she knew, she knew who he was. You be careful. You're all I got left of her, of my Maria. You be careful of that scum.
Johnny: I'm not blind. I'm aware that Trevor has his own agenda.
Anthony: Yeah, more than you know.
Elizabeth: Oh, I wish we had more time.
Jason: Yeah, me, too. Look, if this is getting too complicated -
Elizabeth: It's worth it. I might even come by alone and work on that sometime.
Jason: I just don't want this to be unfair to you.
Elizabeth: It's not. In fact, it's the happiest I've been in a long time. And now, back to the real world.
Elizabeth: Uh -- absolutely not. Bobbie's given you too much candy already. Hi, pumpkin. Cameron Webber, you put that back right now, or there will be no trains for an entire week.
Cameron: But, mommy -
Elizabeth: Don't "mommy" me. Put it back.
[Knock on door]
Elizabeth: What are you doing here?
Carly: My go it's true. He's Jason's.
Elizabeth: Ok, you need to leave.
Carly: You have a choice. You can talk to me in front of your children and they can hear what I think about you, or you can send them off to bed.
Elizabeth: Cameron, it's time for bed.
Cameron: But I'm not tired.
Elizabeth: Now, please.
Cameron: Fine.
Elizabeth: Come on, baby. For god sakes, don't be down here when I get back. Come on, let's go. Come on, upstairs -- upstairs, please.
Diane: You are doing this deliberately.
Alexis: This is the legal speed limit.
Diane: Five miles an hour below the speed limit.
Alexis: Adjusted to the current road conditions -- there happens to be black ice all over the road.
Diane: You just don't want to see me make that ceremony. You just want to rob me of my moment.
Alexis: I'm not that vindictive, Diane -
Diane: Oh -
Alexis: Or that petty. Besides, I have the best incentive that I need to get us there on time and in one piece -- so that I can collect my award.
Diane: You obviously don't think you're going to win.
Alexis: Sure I do. I just don't have to keep saying it over and over again.
Diane: Otherwise, you wouldn't be slowing down even more.
Alexis: I'm not going slowly, I'm going the speed limit.
[Car sputters] Diane: Check the speedometer.
Alexis: Check the gas gauge.
[Car stops]
Diane: You're out of gas!
Alexis: I'm out of gas? You're the one who put the car in your name.
Diane: What kind of a person doesn't bother to check the gas gauge when they're driving?
Ric: So you think that's what this is all about, huh? That I'm just using you to get back at my brother?
Skye: Yeah, don't take it personally, ok? I have trust issues. I'd convince myself of the worst until, eventually, I would kill what's ever good between us.
Ric: I wouldn't let that happen, Skye.
Skye: Couldn't stop me.
Ric: Come on, I understand the need to self-destruct. That you don't trust that anything good is going to happen to you, and when it does, you destroy it -- I did the same thing with Elizabeth. I thought it was my last chance.
Skye: It still could be. You almost died at that party at Wyndemere. Your brother saved your life with that transfusion.
Ric: Not because he wanted to.
Skye: Would you do the same thing for him for any reason?
Ric: Well, you obviously have your doubts.
Skye: Well, I do now, since that was a yes-or-no question. You just tossed the ball back into my court without an answer.
Ric: Skye, it's too hypothetical.
Skye: It's maybe too telling?
Ric: Well, you suspect that I'm mostly unfeeling.
Skye: You know, I got caught up in Lorenzo's madness. I -- I knew he had genuine feelings for me, but they weren't enough, ok? He was still ready to take my daughter from me.
Ric: Well, is that why you turned your back at the right moment -- and let him die?
Sonny: Could you just tell her that Sonny called? Uh, yes, she knows my number.
Jason: Maybe you should just go back.
Sonny: No -- the situation with the Zaccharas is at a tipping point. How am I going to go back?
Jason: Sonny, I can run things.
Sonny: And then there's a restraining order from that weasel who -- it covers the whole island of Manhattan -- the island that Kate is scared to come back from.
Jason: Is it because of what happened at the Metro Court?
Sonny: No, it's because she knows that if she comes back, she's not going to want to leave. I'm more worried about her safety than she is about her own safety, especially now with everything going on.
Jason: We can still avoid an all-out war at this point.
Sonny: Listen. Zaccharas, the Ruiz family, Lorenzo Alcazar -- you know, it's our world. She doesn't fit in to my world, I don't fit into her world.
Jason: Then maybe you need to find somewhere you can be together.
Carly: I've been going back over the time since Jake was born -- even before how Jason was so attentive to you, played the hero. He's known for a long time, hasn't he?
Elizabeth: What does any of this have to do with you?
Carly: Besides the fact you used a baby to get your hooks into my best friend?
Elizabeth: If you're upset because Jason didn't confide in you, it's because he couldn't. He wanted to keep this a secret.
Carly: Jason wanted to keep this a secret?
Elizabeth: Yes. You know, we didn't plan any of this, Carly. He'd ended things with Sam, my marriage was falling apart.
Carly: Did you ask yourself why? Did you see this as a crisis? No, you saw it as a golden opportunity. You ran to Jason's bed so fast, you left a vapor trail. You took advantage of his kindness and his generosity.
Elizabeth: Oh, please. You treat Jason like his life is open 24/7 for your convenience.
Carly: You can't stand that we're so close!
Elizabeth: As if he had nothing better to do than deal with your petty differences.
Carly: I will make sure Jason sees you for who you really are.
Elizabeth: Grow up, Carly. We have a baby's welfare to consider, not to mention Lucky and anyone else involved.
Carly: You trashed your marriage because you slept around on your husband.
Elizabeth: Oh, this coming from you, the town whore?
