Part 1

Mac: That D.N.A. test is going to I.D. my daughter's killer. Find whatever rock Johnny Zacchara crawled under, and get ready to make the arrest when the results come in.

Det. Harper: If Johnny Zacchara's D.N.A. matches the skin cells they took from under Georgie's fingernails, I will personally hunt him down, Mac. But you -- you need to keep some distance. You don't want to do anything that will jeopardize this conviction.

Mac: I'll settle for justice.

Mac: You already pulled your shift. What are you still doing here?

Coop: Well, I decided to stay a couple hours and cover for Lucky -- he's taking a few personal days.

Mayor Floyd: A maniac held the hospital emergency room hostage. I want to know what the D.A. is doing to make sure that he's put behind bars.

Mac: Ric seems to be unreachable.

Mayor Floyd: Well. In that case, maybe you should be appointed as special prosecuting attorney.

Scott: I think that's a good idea -

Alexis: Yeah, well, that won't be necessary, because Ric's asked me to fill in for him as D.A. while he's out of town, and I think that's probably a good idea. From what I can see, you two are not the solution, you're the problem.

Scott: Oh -

Mayor Floyd: Great.

Lulu: Well, I was on the docks last night and I saw -- um -- an accident, and I was wondering if -- there was this guy -- early 20s, dark hair -- was he in the E.R.?

Leyla: I don't remember anyone matching that description.

Lulu: He -- he could've been hurt really badly, so bad that he didn't even know what happened.

Leyla: No. I'm sorry.

Tracy: I needed a lift. So, did you happen to know that your father skipped out of the hospital just before he was going to be released?

Lulu: No.

Tracy: In his condition -- particularly after the hatchet job that Monica did on him -- he's not going to make it five miles -- five blocks if he passes a liquor store or a strip club.

Lulu: I can't believe he did this.

Tracy: I can't, either. How was your visit with your mother?

Lulu: It was fine. Hmm.

Tracy: Really?

Lulu: Yeah.

Tracy: The facility said you never showed up. Where were you?

Logan: She was with me.

Elizabeth: I feel wrung out.

Leo: How did you sleep?

Elizabeth: I didn't.

Leo: You know, I can give you something if you want, like, a light sedative might help.

Elizabeth: No, no, I -- I doze off and I have these dreams, and I just feel like something terrible is going to happen. I don't -- I don't want to sleep.

Leo: Look, you need some rest.

Elizabeth: What I need is to get my mind off of things. Can I at least get some paper and a pencil, something?

Leo: Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's not a problem. I'll see what I can scrounge up for you.

Elizabeth: It is the 22nd, isn't it?

Carly: Now, you know damn well it is.

Leo: All right, well, you rest, and I'll -- I'll be back in a bit.

Elizabeth: Hmm, thanks.

Carly: As if you needed to ask. I'm sure you've been counting down the days. Yes, it's Jason's birthday, and I know the perfect present for him, what he would like more than anything -- to spend it with his son.

[Knock on door]

Sam: Lucky?

Lucky: I'll be right there.

Sam: Uh -- I -- I hope you don't mind me just walking in like this. Hi.

Lucky: Hey.

Sam: It's -- it's just been a while since we've had a chance to talk, and I was thinking that maybe if you're not busy -

Lucky: Well, actually, I kind of got my hands full.

Jason: What do you want?

Trevor: You got five seconds to tell me where Johnny is -- and he better be alive.

Logan: Hi. Lulu and I wanted to spend some time alone, and that's why I made that story up about her going to see her mother. And it was great, a great time.

Lulu: Yeah, yeah, like no other time we've had together. But I feel really bad. Maybe I -- I could've been here and talked my dad out of it.

Logan: Has anyone ever been able to talk that man out of doing anything?

Lulu: No, but this time it's different. He's in really bad shape, and -- and given the places that he goes, he could really be hurt and no one would even know.

Tracy: Well, it's not going to happen again -- and you need to start coming home.

Lulu: She's right about that part.

Logan: Well, Lulu, I just wanted to stop by and see if you were ok. I know you didn't get a lot of sleep at my place last night. Every time I woke up, you were staring out the window -- then you were gone.

Lulu: I wanted to see my dad.

Logan: Or you wanted to come see if Johnny made it to the E.R.

Lulu: That, too.

Logan: I still think we should go to the cops, Lulu.

Lulu: I said no. We listen to Jason, and we leave it alone.

Logan: Yeah, well, if you're going to do that, it's going to require you leaving Johnny on his own. Can you do that?

Jerry: Well, hello. I was looking for -

Woman: Whatever it is, we got your bases covered.

Jerry: I'm sure you do, darling.

Woman: Hmm.

Man: Come in. Jade was just leaving.

Woman: It's Jasmine.

Man: What I paid, I can call you anything I want.

Jerry: And what does she call you?

Man: I think the word "god" escaped her lips a few times.

[Man chuckles]

Man: What should I call you? "Jerry"? "Mr. Moreau"? "Mr. Craig"?

Jerry: Why don't we skip the name-calling altogether?

Man: Or why don't I just call you what you are -- complete and utter disappointment?

Jason: I don't know where Johnny is.

Trevor: That's not the answer I was looking for.

[Guns cock]

Max: How's this for an answer?

Trevor: Put it down. A Zacchara ship was blown up in the harbor last night.

Jason: That's right -- traveling illegally through our lanes.

Trevor: Maybe the captain thought that he was in neutral waters.

Jason: Or maybe you thought you'd sneak something through while Sonny was out of town.

Trevor: My sources tell me that somebody matching your description was onboard that ship right up until the time it exploded. Are they wrong?

Jason: My sources say that you had a kidnapped girl and her boyfriend on the ship. Are they wrong?

Trevor: I don't know anything about that.

Jason: I didn't set any explosions.

Trevor: Johnny's still missing.

Jason: Maybe he doesn't want to be found. We're done.

Trevor: If that kid is harmed -

Jason: You pushed him into this, Trevor. You're the one who did it, Johnny wants peace.

Trevor: You're wrong. Johnny wants to give you and your boss the benefit of the doubt, because he knows that you attacked that ship -

Jason: Maybe you didn't hear me. We're done.

Trevor: Oh, no, sir. We're just getting started.

Jason: I want you to keep searching for Johnny Zacchara.

Max: Well, is it such a bad thing if he never shows up again?

Jason: You still see him as the enemy, Max?

Max: Jason, so does the boss.

Jason: I see him as a kid trying to fight his way out of his dad's reputation -- that's what I see.

Sam: Oh, no. No, I woke him up. I didn't mean to make things more difficult for you -- any more difficult than I already have.

Lucky: No, he hasn't slept more than an hour since I brought him straight home from the hospital.

Sam: Well, I think that's to be expected. You know, he -- he had smoke inhalation and -- it's no wonder -

Lucky: You know what? I drove him around, you know? It always used to work getting him to sleep as a last resort. But I couldn't even get him to sleep. I swear, I must've put 300 miles my car, sung every lullaby I know. Yeah.

Sam: Hi. Well, I think he's probably a little unsettled being shuffled around so much.

Lucky: Yeah, well, every child needs to know where his home is. That's what my mom always used to tell my dad. She was always determined to make sure -- sure that Lulu didn't grow up restless -- you know, always on the run like I did. She used to, like, take one of my dad's shirts like this -- oh -- and then she'd wrap her up and rub on her back, take her around, take her over to her crib, show her her toys, all the familiar things in the house. See, this -- this is your crib. These are all your toys, and this is your home -- a place you can always come back to, a place you'll always feel safe.

Sam: This is probably really, really bad timing, given everything, but, Lucky, I have really missed you.

Elizabeth: We've already been over this.

Carly: We're going to keep going over it until I convince Jason to go after custody of his son.

Elizabeth: I told you -- Jason, Lucky, and I all came to an agreement.

Carly: That's because you talked them into doing what you wanted them to do.

Elizabeth: To keep Jake safe from Jason's enemies.

Carly: I'm sorry, but how is he safe with you, given that he almost died in a fire? How did that happen on your watch?

Elizabeth: Does it really matter, Carly?

Carly: Yeah, it does. See, I've done some checking. Turns out that your first bastard son obviously likes to play with matches, and given you got yourself stuck outside, while Jason's son was stuck upstairs in the crib while the house was catching on fire.

Elizabeth: Don't you think I feel bad enough as it is?

Carly: No, I don't, at all. So when I corner a lawyer to fight for custody, I may look into having you declared an unfit mother and have your son taken from you -- permanently.

Felicia: I have been going over the list of suspects who were attacked by this so-called text message killer.

Mac: I don't want you doing this.

Felicia: I want to. I have to, Mac. I failed my daughters -- one of them is dead, and the other one wishes that I were. I have to do this -- you don't have to worry about me.

Mac: Felicia -

Felicia: No, listen to me. I'm -- I'm not going to let grief cloud my judgment.

Mac: You're not listening to me. I said I do not want you doing this.

Trevor: Alexis? Could we please go somewhere private and talk?

Alexis: I'm sorry, you're going to have to take a seat. And I know that one of your ships blew up in the harbor last night. I don't think you want us to scrutinize that "accident" too closely, do you?

Trevor: I'm looking for my son.

Ric: This house was in my family for generations.

Woman: Oh. It's beautiful.

Ric: You live here?

Woman: Oh, no, I -- I live outside of town. I just check on the place for the owners, pick up whatever mail comes.

Ric: So I guess they're out of town, huh?

Woman: They use it mostly for summer and holidays. Seems such a waste to have something so beautiful and ignored. It's sad inside.

Ric: Yeah, I'd probably have to agree with you.

Lulu: Johnny? Johnny? Johnny! Johnny? Oh -- Johnny? Wake up.

Carly: Hey, Michael.

Michael: Hey.

Carly: Morgan upstairs doing his homework?

Michael: Uh -- I guess so.

Carly: Did you help him wrap Jason's birthday present?

Michael: No, I had things to do.

Jax: Look, we had this talk. You know, he's your brother.

Michael: He's a baby, and I'm not going to be able to take care of him while he's doing baby things. I have my own stuff to do.

Carly: So are you going to show up for Jason's birthday party, or is that just baby stuff?

Michael: I don't know. Jason isn't really into that kind of stuff anyways.

Carly: Wow. Who's that kid, and what has he done with my son?

Jax: He's growing up -- something his mother might consider.

Carly: Really? You've been saving that one up on the silent car ride home?

Jax: I thought you were done meddling with this whole situation with Jason and his son.

Carly: I never said that.

Jax: Anyway, I thought we were concentrating on making our own baby.

Carly: You know what? I can do both.

Jax: Yeah, but you shouldn't Jake is not your child.

Carly: Jason's my best friend, ok?

Jax: Yeah, and Elizabeth is that boy's mother. You' got no right questioning her about this, you know, attacking her, especially while she's laid up in the hospital.

Jason: He's right.
