Ian: A few days ago, patrick asked me what kind of cases interest me the most, and i said the hopeless ones.
Robin: Nikolas' case isn't hopeless.
Ian: Is that a doctor talking or a friend?
Robin: Both.
Ian: Hmm. You can be both with a patient?
Robin: Huh. Well, you're about to find out that we do things just a little bit differently here on earth, dr. Devlin.
Ian: You really find me that different?
Robin: Well, i find you to be clear and focused and incredibly proficient on the one hand, and glib and completely transparent with women on the other -- as only a close friend of dr. Drake's would be.
Ian: Maybe there isn't anything different about me.
Robin: Well, there's something, i just don't know what yet.
Ian: Huh. Well, then to save you some time, maybe i prefer that it's nobody's business. Now, then, i've seen a case like his once before -- a patient with a tumor in basically the same area of the brain. Slight-but-jolting episodes of rage and confusion afterwards, though not the same complete blackouts that mr. Cassadine suffers from. And this amnesia -- for lack of a better term -- there isn't any chance that this patient's lying about that part, is there?
Robin: No, absolutely not.
Ian: What about hallucinations?
Patrick: He hasn't mentioned any.
Ian: Well, friend or not, for some reason, he's keeping things from you after all.
Nikolas: I know i shouldn't have left the hospital -- i realize that -- but i couldn't help it. See, i looked out the window and i saw it was raining and i saw the way the lights reflecting on the pavement, and i just -- i got this vivid image of us flying down the boulevard in paris towards the eiffel tower, top down, laughing in the rain, you know? Not a care in the world, but that's not real. And things are getting less and less real. I mean, you -- you are real, emily, but you're not.
Emily: That's because your condition's getting worse, nikolas.
Nikolas: Yeah, i just don't know what i could've done with the car. I mean, i got so angry when that guy cut us off, and then you weren't in the seat next to me, and then i looked up and you're standing in the street -- at least, i think it was you. And the next thing i remember, i'm standing here, and there you are again, but you changed your clothes.
Emily: Ok, so let's get you back to the hospital.
Nikolas: In a minute. Just -- just let me look at you for a second Let me -- let me love you for a minute, ok?
Emily: Ok.
Nikolas: I don't know how much time we may have left together.
Johnny: If claudia catches you listening, there's going to be hell to pay. And she looks like someone who travels with more than just a little hell in her back pocket.
Trevor: We need to call a family meeting.
Johnny: I agree. Of course, you're not family, so claudia might forget to tell you about it.
Trevor: No, john, be clear about this. You're going to need me now more than ever. How long do you think claudia's going to stay here? Her curiosity got the better of her, and she's just flaunting herself in our faces.
Johnny: You mean your face, and maybe my father's, not mine. I was, what, 7 when she left, she was 16? I'm going to be interested to hear her take on things -- on a lot of things.
Claudia: I remember the day you sent me away. You remember that day, pop?
Anthony: You and maria -- uh -- you -- you two had a fight. It was bad for you in the house.
Claudia: No. It was good for me in the house -- i had a family.
Anthony: What did you want with a family? You were always by yourself, you liked being by yourself.
Claudia: That's because nobody liked me. I didn't like me.
Anthony: I know someone who liked you.
Claudia: You want to know what i want, old man? Then shut up and listen.
Jax: Anything i can do?
Kate: Um -- no, i'm ok, jax. I'm just mourning a few things.
Jax: Sonny?
Kate: No, i think i still have a chance with him.
Jax: Oh. So this would be a bad time to try to talk you out of it?
Kate: Excuse me. How many of your friends tried to talk you out of marrying carly?
Jax: Oh, a few. Check that -- quite a few, actually. The difference is carly won't get me killed, kate.
Kate: Oh, there's all kinds of ways to die, jax.
Jax: You know, i'm still not sure why you told me everything.
Kate: Because i need your help.
Jax: To do what?
Carly: Jax, i have something -- wow. I'm going to try to ignore the fact that you guys are standing here half naked.
Kate, you got about 10 seconds to get the hell out of my house, or i'm going to throw you out.
Patrick: How did you treat your patient?
Ian: With a new drug therapy that manages the side effects till the tumor grew big enough to be removed more safely.
Robin: What kind of drug therapy, exactly?
Ian: Experimental. Now, what disturbs me in the cassadine case is this -- this wild card -- some kind of drug injected into his system?
Patrick: Yeah, it's a long story.
Ian: Well, if i'm going to help treat this patient, i suggest you make it a short one.
Robin: Who said you were? I -- i don't understand how nikolas falls under your area of expertise.
Ian: The same way as my other patient with a tumor did -- by needing my help, now.
Nikolas: I apologize, i shouldn't have left. I just had to get out of here for a while.
Patrick: Yeah, i know the feeling. In the meantime, we've been discussing your case with a colleague of ours and he's agreed to join the team. Nikolas cassadine, this is dr. Ian devlin.
Nikolas: Hey.
Jax: Carly, it's not what you think. I asked kate back here -- we were both caught in a rainstorm, we were soaked, ok?
Carly: Oh, i bet you couldn't wait to take him up on that offer, huh?
Jax: Why -- what are you doing?
Carly: Now that you and sonny are over, you're looking for your next victim? It's not going to be my husband, you got it?
Kate: Jax? Jax? Thank you for your kindness and your understanding. I think you understand some of what i've asked now?
Jax: Yes.
Carly: Oh, secrets? Well, i guess we're playing the secret game now, is that it?
Kate: My clothes -- jax, my clothes?
Jax: Second door on the right. And i'll call you a cab, ok? There's no secrets.
Kate: Um, jax, you don't have to do that.
Jax: No, that's fine, i want to. I'll -- i'll call the cab.
Carly: Keep the robe -- i was going to burn it anyway. What the hell is she doing here?
Jax: What is wrong with you? Why are you so angry?
Carly: Because i don't like that woman!
Jax: You don't like any women.
Carly: I especially don't like that woman tonight, ok?
Jax: What were you doing? Were -- were you out driving?
Carly: I wanted to talk to you, i wanted to share something with you.
Jax: Mercedes said that you left, but she didn't say that you drove yourself. Where did you go?
Carly: It doesn't matter because you've ruined everything, jax Jax: Whoa, hold on a sec -- carly? Ok -- whoa, whoa, carly -- can we just talk about it?
[Carly walks upstairs]
jason: There you go.
Elizabeth: Thank you.
Jason: You feeling better? Elizabeth: Much. That shower was great -- i washed the hospital off.
Jason: Careful with your stitches?
Elizabeth: Yes, i was careful.
Jason: When you called, you said something about going to lucky's and finding sam holding jake. I --
elizabeth: The day before yesterday, i checked myself out of the hospital. Lucky had the boys, so i went to his house to get them and take them home or to gram's. And when i walked in, there was sam -- holding jake like it was the most natural thing in the world. Then i found out that lucky was on a police call and he had left her alone with jake. Of course, i -- i freaked out. By the time lucky got back, sam and i were in the middle of a full-blown fight, and i popped a stitch and lucky had to take me to the hospital.
Jason: Why didn't you call me?
Elizabeth: Because i can't. Because we're not supposed to be seeing each other. And it's not going to seem like that if you come running every time i get a splinter -- even though i know you would.
Jason: You know i want to.
Elizabeth: I can't remember the last time i really slept. But i feel better. I feel a lot better -- almost as if -- as if the ride over here never happened.
Anthony: A daughter doesn't speak to her father like that. A daughter owes her father respect. Maria will make you respect me.
Claudia: My stepmother's dead. And when i heard you're the one who shot her --
anthony: And you believe everything you hear?
Claudia: I believed it because it sounded just like you. You never were a nice man, daddy -- not to johnny, not to johnny's mother, not to me, not to my mother. She's dead, too, you know?
Anthony: I didn't do nothing to her. She's not dead because of me.
Claudia: She died on the inside because of you, and you sent what was left of her away -- just like you did with me.
Anthony: You don't know what you're talking about. Nobody knows, just maria. Maria always knows. She sends me roses, you know, from the garden. It's funny -- they shouldn't be alive this time of year. The doctors -- they don't know what they're talking about, either. They say i'll never move again? They don't know -- i can move.
Claudia: Really? Show me.
Anthony: No. You want to see, you have to come back and see. Bring johnny and maria and that little what's-her-name with the red sneakers.
Claudia: That was me, daddy. That was me.
Anthony: What are you talking about -- that's not you. Don't bring the pusher.
Claudia: "The pusher"?
Anthony: Pushing, always pushing!
Claudia: I'll be back. Don't worry, we have a lot of catching up to do in more ways than one. But to answer your question -- the one from 10 confused, raving minutes ago -- whati want, daddy, is everything.
Anthony: Yeah? Good luck with that one!
Claudia: I don't need luck. I learned a lot of things while i was gone.
Anthony: What things?
Claudia: I love you, daddy, i do. But just so you know, if you try to stop me, i will kill you.
Sonny: Big mistake -- walking around this town without any bodyguards.
Johnny: I'm unarmed.
Sonny: Well, that's your second mistake. Why shouldn't it be your last?
Claudia: Where's john?
Trevor: You know, he left.
Claudia: Oh, you mean you made him leave?
Trevor: What's happened to you?
Claudia: I wised up.
Trevor: Huh. You seem too hard.
Claudia: You seem disappointed.
Trevor: Your brother needs you.
Claudia: Being kept behind walls with you and my father, i can only imagine. The good thing for john is there's still hope for him -- unlike the rest of us.
Trevor: I need you to pull this together. Can you do it? Wherever you disappeared to in that hotel --
claudia: Where i go and what i do is my business. The faster you learn that, the faster we'll get along -- if we ever get along at all.
Sonny: You've been getting an awful lot of breaks lately, and mainly because jason has been giving you the benefit of the doubt -- i'm tired of that. And i got too many loose ends in my life, and i'm getting very angry because i'm not paying attention to business.
Johnny: If you're in the business of shooting unarmed men, tonight's your lucky night.
[Sonny cocks gun]
sonny: You're as crazy as your old man.
Lulu: Stop!
Carly: What are the chances of me finding my husband alone down here?
Jax: Oh, what are the chances of you actually telling me what's wrong with you? Come on, you know how kate's -- what happened to your head? Did you hurt yourself?
Carly: That's what i've been trying to tell you -- something happened while i was driving home.
Monica: Yes, i -- um -- i'd like to report a robbery. Um, my car has been stolen.
Emily: Nikolas? You're upset about something.
Nikolas: Um -- yeah, the -- the car ride earlier? What if --
emily: "What if" what?
Nikolas: What if i -- what if i only thought thati imagined you in the road? What -- what if there was someone else really there?
>> on the next "General Hospital" --
Jax: Tell me what happened.
Jason: Was it about Sam?
Johnny: Do it.
Lulu: Johnny!
Sonny: You're dead!
