[Monitor beeps]
Jax: You know, I don't care how big of a fight we have -- I shouldn't have walked out angry. I'm really sorry.
Carly: It's my fault, too. I just got Michael back, and I was just so scared for him. You have to know my instinct is to protect him at all cost, Jax, I can't --
Jax: Let's talk about Michael later, he's okay. This is the little one that we have to protect now.
Carly: I know it's good for the baby to have you here. It's good for me, too. I love you.
Jax: I love you, too. You know, sometimes when I get scared for you, I think it's me being selfish because I just couldn't imagine my life without you.
Carly: It'd be a lot more peaceful, I'm sure.
Jax: Yes, but nowhere near as entertaining.
[Carly laughs]
Jax: You know, my life was quite full before I met you. I was partial to impulse trips to Europe. Now I just enjoy coming home to you for dinner. I love that. I had no idea how much I would love being your husband -- and a stepdad to Michael and Morgan. And I love that you're having my child.
Max: Check that out.
Jason: Hey.
Milo: Welcome back.
Max: How are your hands?
Jason: Healing, thank you.
Max: How long till you make it back to work?
Jason: I can -- I can do what needs to be done. What do we know about the cannery explosion?
Max: Whoever it was, the boss is going to war with the Zaccharas. Ahem.
Diane: Well, hello, Max. I see you're using that tailor I recommended.
Milo: How -- how do you know?
Max: Shut -- shh. Shut up.
Jason: Okay, uh, Diane, are you -- are you here to see Max or -- or me?
Diane: I fail to see what is so egregious about complimenting a fellow employee on their improved appearance.
Max: Thanks, Diane.
Diane: Don't mention it, Max.
Max: Ahem.
Jason: Milo, can you get him -- can you get him out of here?
Milo: Yeah, you got it.
Jason: He's a little distracted right now.
Diane: Oh --
Max: Sorry -- ahem. Bye, Diane. Goodbye.
Diane: Bye.
Jason: Diane?
Diane: What? Oh -- sorry -- ahem. Well, how are you?
Jason: I'm glad to be home.
Diane: And aren't we glad to have you back -- despite this whole Joe Palooka thing you've got going on. Now, you and I have some legal matters to discuss, and I hope that you will take a slightly more rational perspective.
Jason: On what?
Diane: On handling the fallout over Michael shooting Kate.
Diane: Sonny told me that you suspected Michael was the culprit.
Jason: Well, he'd been messing around with guns. He bought some bullets from some punks down on the docks -- Mike caught him.
Diane: Okay, from what I understand, the shooting was entirely accidental. Michael was actually trying to get rid of the gun, trying to throw it away. He dropped it, it went off.
Jason: Mm-hmm.
Diane: He panicked, fled, and apparently was too scared to go home -- poor kid.
Jason: So what's the question?
Diane: Sonny is explaining all of this to Kate right now. Now, she is not a vindictive woman, so I suspect that Kate will not want to cause Michael or Sonny any further grief.
Jason: All right, what about the cops?
Diane: There's no evidence, and there are no witnesses, so this could go on the books as an unsolved crime, which would be very convenient.
Jason: Or what?
Diane: Or Michael could turn himself in. Now, if I can prove that this was an accident, it can be pled down. I can get him mandatory counseling or some type of community service. But the laws are very strict, and in certain cases the court will hold a parent responsible if a juvenile is caught with a firearm. Which means that this whole thing could land on Carly's head because she is the custodial parent.
Jason: Well, then Michael can't turn himself in.
Diane: There's more. Sonny got a little hotheaded when Michael disappeared, and you know he was holding Johnny Zacchara. Well, all hell is about to break loose. Nothing I know for certain -- plausible deniability and all of that -- but Sonny more or less told me to be -- to be prepared to defend some of his hench-- employees, and the police want to talk to you and Sonny in connection with the cannery explosion. Now, I know you were out of town, but Sonny is an entirely --
Jason: We had nothing to do with the explosion.
Diane: I'm sure you didn't, but it's a reasonable assumption.
Jason: Okay, can you -- can you stall them?
Diane: Yes -- that's what you pay me the big retainer for.
Kelly: Much better.
Kelly: Your blood pressure went down.
Jax: When can we do the ultrasound?
Kelly: I'll take care of it now.
Jax: Hey. You know, this time I think I should pick out the color for the nursery.
Carly: Huh. I didn't mean for it to be that horrible green color.
Jax: Well, besides, you're not allowed to smell the paint fumes anyway. You have to stay away from things like that.
Carly: Okay, you can do it all.
Jax: Okay.
Carly: You just have to rub my feet, and I'll eat tons of milk shakes.
Jax: Fruity ones, fruity -- fruity shakes -- lots of fruit in them.
Carly: Whew. You know, I read this article once, where these women who work for the Peace Corps would go to Africa, and they would give prenatal care to women in tribes, but they refused the care. And they thought it was bad luck. Why do you think they would do something like that?
Jax: Years of tradition, I guess. You know, it's human nature to not tempt fate. But we're not going to do that. We're not, because we're going to -- we're going to name this little girl, we're going to talk to her, and play her our favorite songs. And I'm going to read to both of you. I am. And then when she's born, we're just going to keep doing the same. My girls will want for nothing.
Kelly: Let's do that ultrasound.
Jax: You ready?
Sonny: Once Carly gets out of the hospital, we're going to deal with this Michael situation. In the meantime, the -- this stuff going on with my business has taken on momentum, and I -- I meant it when I said I'm going to put extra guards on you.
Kate: No, I can see that.
[Sonny takes folder, drops it on the table]
Sonny: I don't -- I don't want to argue with you about this because I got so much going on already, I don't want to have anything else going on. Do you understand what I'm saying?
Kate: Sonny, we made a promise that we were going to try to love each other without compromising each other's lifestyles.
Sonny: I understand that, but it's easy to say "you can have your life, I can have my life, and at the end of the day, we're going to have dinner." But there's another thing to find yourself on the waterfront with a bullet in your chest.
Kate: Yeah, but your enemies didn't put it there.
Sonny: But they could have. And that's why I want to keep you as safe as I can. It's just -- it's just a little extra security. It doesn't violate your religion or your ethics. It's -- just think of it like -- um -- just like insurance.
Kate: Okay. Fine. But I'm doing it for you, not for me.
Sonny: Oh, well, that's good.
Kate: I mean, I don't want you to go out and do something stupid, get yourself killed.
Sonny: Fine.
Kate: Right?
Sonny: Yeah, yeah, done. Well --
Kate: So if it makes you feel better that I'm safe, then do whatever works.
Sonny: Done.
Kate: I'm only doing it because I love you.
Sonny: You will never have to be worried about getting hurt again because of me.
Claudia: I'm sorry that you had a fight with your girlfriend.
Johnny: Do we have to talk about this now?
Claudia: Who else do you have to listen to you? Seriously, Johnny, unless you're okay with the fact that she just walked out?
Johnny: I always knew she would.
Claudia: Can I ask you something? I mean, you were here in Crimson Point with Daddy, right, and she was in Port Charles. How did you even meet that girl?
Johnny: I used to take my car out at night and drive -- fast.
Claudia: Hmm. Speed is the best distraction.
Johnny: I was just about to turn around when I saw this girl hitchhiking at the side of the road.
Claudia: Oh, so you picked her up -- great.
Johnny: We, I noticed that she had been crying, and she said she had been hurt pretty bad and she just wanted to get out of there and drive. She didn't care where, I didn't care, so we took off, and we left all this crap behind us. So I guess you could say we met by accident.
Claudia: Hmm. You know what I think? I think that when you were on the road with Lulu, you were play-acting at somebody else's life, and you let yourself believe that it was real.
Johnny: No. In the end, I think I always knew that she was going to go. It turns out I was right.
Diane: Knock, knock?
Alexis: Hey. All right, Commissioner, thank you, I'll wait for the files. Well, hi -- oh, shoes.
[Diane giggles]
Diane: Oh, necklace!
Alexis: Oh, this? Yeah, I got this in an outlet store on the way to Philadelphia. You want to go?
Diane: Any time -- we can stop for drinks afterwards. Hmm.
Alexis: You're not going to take me to a place where the firemen hang out again, are you?
Diane: You love the place where the firemen hang out, because firemen are strong and brave --
Alexis: And good with their hoses.
Diane: I'm going to forget you said that. All I know is that at some point I have to get lucky.
Alexis: When are your clients coming in for questioning?
Diane: No dice.
Alexis: They're material witnesses.
Diane: Jason Morgan was out of town, and Sonny Corinthos was a victim of the blast. Is that suit Paola Jackson?
Alexis: It's Maha Chang. Do you know that tensions are escalating between Sonny and the Zaccharas?
Diane: Your current investigation has nothing to do with my clients.
Alexis: I'm not going to stand here while a mob war breaks out; I have to uphold the law. Where did you get your earrings?
Diane: Online.
Alexis: Cheap.
Diane: But good.
Alexis: Hmm.
Diane: And it doesn't uphold or support any laws when you violate my clients' rights.
Diane: Simple due process.
Alexis: They're people of interest.
Diane: Then get a warrant. Shopping -- tomorrow, 3:00, I'll pick you up.
Alexis: I'll drive.
Diane: I'll drive.
Alexis: I'll drive. Ha! Whoo-hoo!
Diane: Ahem.
Lucky: Hey.
Elizabeth: Hey.
Lucky: I thought you were done for the day.
Elizabeth: Oh, split shift. Are you here to see the boys?
Lucky: No, I came here to interview Carly about the explosion -- she was there, and we just need to know what she saw.
Elizabeth: Well, she's scheduled for some tests, but I can find out when she's going to be done.
Lucky: Thank you.
Elizabeth: Lucky, I -- when I went home, Sam came over, and we had --
Sam: Hey, hey, hi. I'm sorry to interrupt. Um -- I'm actually really glad that you're both here. Look -- um -- I thought it over, and I really don't want anyone else to get hurt any more than they already have been -- especially Jake. I think you both know how much I care about him. So I have decided that I do not want to press charges.
Elizabeth: Is that so?
Sam: I think I should just let it go.
Lucky: That's -- that's great. Sam, I think you're doing the right thing.
Sam: Thank you. I really -- I -- I think I really needed to hear that.
Logan: Lulu -- what's going on? What's up?
Lulu: There must be something that you want -- ice cream or jell-o or pudding or --
Logan: Lulu, take it easy. What -- you know, there isn't anything I want that isn't right here. What -- what's the matter? Why are you so upset?
Lulu: I ended it with Johnny -- this time, for real.
Logan: Wow. Well, I mean, that's -- that's good -- from my perspective, anyway.
Lulu: I made a mess of you and me and Johnny, and I hurt both of you in the process, and not that it's any consolation, but I hurt myself, too. Anyway, I'm sorry -- and not just for the wrench to the head --
[Logan chuckles]
Lulu: Although, that's clearly the worst thing I did to you. I am so sorry for the mixed signals and -- and the sneaking around and not knowing what I want and -- and --
Logan: I accept your apology, Lulu -- and I'm pretty sure that's, like, the second or third time I've said that. I'm tired of accepting it, so I'm -- I'm done. I don't want to be a person that you're, you know, always avoiding because every time you see me, you got to say how sorry you are. Instead, I'd like to be a guy, you know, that when you see, you're happy to see, you know?
Lulu: You already are. Huh.
Logan: Good. Well, in that case, you know what? There's something that you -- you can do for me. The food -- it's awful here. Can you smuggle me in something good?
Lulu: Yes, anything you want.
Johnny: I let her believe I was someone I'm not -- that I'm this nice guy.
Claudia: Hey, you are a nice guy. You're a really nice guy, and you have a tender heart -- probably too tender. You know, when you were a little kid, you used to always bring home stray cats and, like, three-legged frogs.
Johnny: You remember that?
Claudia: It's hard to forget a three-legged frog. Do you think it's possible that Lulu's like -- maybe she's one of your wounded animals or, you know, creatures?
Johnny: No, it was never about saving or fixing Lulu. I just liked her smile, I liked being with her. That night that Sonny nabbed me, we were supposed to go out to dinner, so he ruined what turned out to be our last date.
Claudia: Well, is it possible that you're letting that cloud your judgment when it concerns Sonny?
Johnny: The man is a psychotic pig who bullied and tortured me, he threatened you, and he's going to pay!
Claudia: Okay.
Sonny: Hey. How was the surgery?
Jason: The doctors expect a full recovery.
Sonny: Oh, that's good news.
Jason: Yeah.
Sonny: We got more trouble.
Jason: Diane filled me in.
Sonny: Yeah.
Jason: I'm glad you guys made it out of there safe.
Sonny: I still don't know who's responsible. Um -- I thought it was Trevor, but I don't think he's stupid enough to blow himself up.
Jason: I stopped -- I stopped at the hospital to -- to see Carly.
Sonny: She's doing okay, right?
Jason: She might be losing the baby.
Sonny: What are you -- I mean, she said she -- everything was okay, I don't understand.
Jason: She just started to cramp, and -- and she's -- I mean, she's scared.
Sonny: That's why Jax showed up -- oh -- he -- he came by and wanted to talk about Michael and the shooting -- you were right about Michael.
Jason: I wish I hadn't been.
Sonny: Johnny Zacchara -- he's out of control. He tried to kill me last night. Okay, here's the deal -- ahem. The only way to avoid a war is a preemptive move. We have to kill him.
Jason: We can't.
Carly: Well?
Jax: Hey, it's hard to tell at this early stage.
Carly: Kelly, come on.
Kelly: I'll let you know soon.
Kelly: I'm so sorry.
Jax: Hey -- hey -- hey.
Carly: I'm sorry.
>> On the next "General Hospital" --
Lucky: I've missed you.
Claudia: That's what this is about -- a way to kill Sonny without you getting hurt.
Sonny: He wants me dead. I got to kill him first.
Jax: Your ex-husband cost us our baby.
