Lulu: This is going to sound really bad, but I'm happy your house burned down.

Johnny: I feel like I just got out of prison.

[Laughter]

[Knock on door]

Tracy: I'm home. And if you father calls, tell -- oh!

Sonny: What do you think of the blend?

Kate: It's assertive, but not bitter.

Sonny: Oh, you're an expert now?

Kate: I know what I like.

[Phone rings]

Kate: Sorry, I have to get this.

Sonny: What do you mean?

Kate: Kate Howard. We have nothing to negotiate. No, you can't raise the price this late in the game. I am well aware of the meeting this afternoon. Why don't you review the contracts and try not to be late. Thank you.

Sonny: You're tough.

Kate: I'm bluffing. The crimson launch is just around the corner. I have to nail down the distribution.

Sonny: Hey, hey. Why don't you let me take you on a boat ride?

Kate: Mm, I would love to, but I can't.

Sonny: What do you mean?

Alexis: Congratulations. Your retirement lasted less than 24 hours.

Carly: Hey, Marty.

Marty: Good morning.

Carly: Thank you for looking out for everything while I was gone.

Marty: Are you planning to work today?

Carly: Yep, that's why I'm here. What's the status on the poolside bar? I'd like to get that underway as soon as possible.

Woman: Come on, guys. We can't go fishing if we miss the boat.

Boy: I'll get that for you.

Claudia: Morning.

Nikolas: Morning. Coffee?

Claudia: Thank you. So how do you feel?

Nikolas: Better, thank you.

Claudia: That's great.

Nikolas: Yeah. So listen -- oh, thank you. We need to discuss what happened last night.

Claudia: What's there to talk about? I mean, it was just one of those nights.

Nikolas: No -

Claudia: Don't have to worry about it too much.

Nikolas: I -- I just don't want there to be any misunderstandings, that's all.

Claudia: You were in pain. I was just trying to help.

Nikolas: I know. I just shouldn't have allowed it to go that far.

Claudia: If I made things worse for you, Nikolas, I'm -- I'm really sorry.

Nikolas: No -- no, I mean, there's no -- there's no reason to apologize, I'm just -

Claudia: Well, I don't think you have a reason to apologize either, bu-- do you feel like you were unfaithful to Emily?

Tracy: Get him out of my house.

Alan: It's Monica's house.

Tracy: She would agree with me, and what are you doing here?

Alan: Lulu's an adult. You need to respect her choices.

Tracy: Who asked you?

Johnny: Who is she talking to?

Lulu: Her dead brother. Just don't -

Tracy: Look, I'm sorry, but we're not running a shelter for homeless gangsters, so get him out.

Lulu: I guess the fire made the news.

Tracy: Lulu, talk to me. I'm looking at you.

Alan: Give them a break, will you?

Edward: What are you yelling about?

Alice: Calm down, Mr. Q. Your heart.

Edward: Oh, who is that?

Tracy: Johnny Zacchara.

Edward: You -- you -- you get him out of that bed this minute, right now.

Lulu: No -- ow, ow, ow.

Edward: It can be the full body slam or the reverse chicken wing, I don't care, just get him out.

Johnny: Reverse chicken wing?

Lulu: Alice is a championship wrestler. She's actually really good.

Alice: Why thank you,Miss Lulu.

Edward: Look, don't stop to chat, just get him out.

Lulu: She won the regional middleweight ladies championship super belt three years in a row.

Johnny: Well, congratulations. That's quite an achievement.

Alice: Well, thank you. My last fight was really difficult -

Tracy: Alice, they're playing you. Get him out.

Lulu: Why? We're both consenting adults.

Tracy: You, dressed and downstairs. I decide who consents to what.

Kelly: You really tapped into something with that pregnancy blog.

Robin: It's amazing. It's like this instant community of women all sharing the same experiences.

Kelly: The mother-lode.

[Robin and Kelly laugh]

Patrick: What are you guys looking at?

Kelly: Oh, Robin's blog has 3,000 hits. What happened to you?

Patrick: Borrowed a friend's car and drifted into the wall.

Robin: At the racetrack going 150 miles per hour. Yeah, he's fine with becoming a father.

Patrick: So how's the blog?

Robin: Well, since you asked, they're all very positive comments. Guess it's good to know I'm not the only forgetful pregnant woman on the planet. Oh, look at this one. "Sleep while you still can."

Kelly: That is excellent advice.

Robin: Mm-hmm.

Patrick: Who's the total slacker? Robin, are you calling me a total slacker?

Robin: No, no, I wouldn't say that.

Kelly: I think they've been on your blog.

Robin: I told you not to send your blog from Jake's. It's only going to make you look bad.

Patrick: Ok, an arrested adolescent -- I'm not an arrested adolescent. I operate on the brain -

Robin: Ok, I don't think you should be reading this.

Patrick: Let me see this.

Kelly: Laptops, remotes -- if they have buttons and control a picture, men grab it. They can't help themselves.

Robin: I am putting that on my blog.

Patrick: Ok, women must be reading your blog and then commenting on mine.

Robin: Really?

Patrick: Neanderthal? Neanderthal?

Kelly: "Go drown in your beer."

Robin: Ouch.

Patrick: This is unbelievable.

Kelly: Well, I guess the votes are in. The baby mama rules cyber space. The baby daddy, not so much.

Alexis: So did you burn down Anthony Zacchara's house?

Sonny: No, I didn't.

Alexis: There's really no point lying about it at this late date.

Kate: Well, I have to get to work and this is for you two to figure out, anyway. But, Alexis, if I may, try to keep an open mind as a D.A. and as a parent and remember you can't always jump to conclusions and believe what you read in the paper. Good-bye, I'm leaving.

Alexis: You know, Jax is right.

Sonny: Yeah?

Alexis: He says how you always manage to find the smartest, most competent, nicest women to defend you into anything you do. It's really an astonishing talent.

Sonny: I had nothing to do with burning down Anthony Zacchara's house.

Alexis: Right, right, right. So do you know who did?

Sonny: Oh, he's got a lot of enemies. I know that.

Alexis: That's just a classic evasion and implies complicity on your part.

Sonny: Well, you know what? Jason's in charge. He makes all the decisions. Ask him. He'll tell you.

Alexis: You know, I'd really love to believe you. I would love nothing more to believe that the father of my child has miraculously become a fine, upstanding citizen. But, you see, I've known you for a long time and you could never be happy just sitting around your living room drinking coffee.

Sonny: There are worse things to do, Alexis.

Alexis: I tried to save you once, remember? Nobody knows better than I do that you need the power and the money and the fear that you believe passes for respect. It's so sad, but you need the mob.

Carly: That family who just left here, how long are they staying?

Marty: I'll check.

Carly: Can you give them a complimentary guest package? Throw in tons of tokens and stuff for the game room and give them a spa pass so they can use the pool, chips and sodas, and sign their room up for free movies.

Marty: I'll take care of it.

Jax: Carly.

Carly: Hi, I need the updates on the plans for the poolside bar.

Jax: How long have you been here?

Carly: Not long. I want to talk about the Fall convention and the Fourth of July party.

Jax: You left so early this morning, I thought you'd be with Michael.

Carly: Yeah, I was. I was already there and back.

Jax: Everything ok?

Carly: Yeah, yeah. I read to him, you know, and I was sitting there, planning to spend the rest of my day there and I thought, wow, being connected to Michael doesn't mean I have to neglect the rest of my life, so -

Jax: I'm glad you finally understand that.

Carly: I'm trying to move on. I could use your help.

Sonny: It's almost easier for you if I'm in the mob. That way, it gives you an excuse to distance me from Kristina.

Alexis: Kristina is personal. Burning down somebody's house is business. I am here as a district attorney, not as Kristina's -

Sonny: The answer's the same. I had nothing to do with burning down Anthony's house.

Alexis: You know, you are so -

Sonny: I don't know how many times I got to tell you.

Alexis: Entrenched in organized crime. You think you can just tell me your out and I'm going to believe that?

Diane: Oh, Alexis, please tell me you are not here questioning my client without benefit of counsel. That coffee smells heavenly.

Alexis: All right, answer me this. Why is Diane still working for you if you aren't still involved in organized crime?

Jax: It's not the cost of the poolside bar that's the problem, it's -

Carly: Jason, it's -- it's me. Give me a call when you get this. It's not Michael. Everything's fine. I just -- I need to talk to you about something else, ok?

Jax: Why -- why do you need to talk to Jason?

Carly: I'm not going to have another fight with you about this. Jason is my dearest friend and you've known that from the start. He's the reason Sonny gave up custody. You should be grateful to him.

Jax: He's an emotional crutch, ok? As long as you lean on him, you don't need me.

Carly: Need you? How can I do that when every time I turn around, you're gone? Rome? I mean, what is that? And I'm supposed to be grateful because you didn't actually see or make contact with Brenda?

Jax: Oh, I -- I consider paying a visit to Brenda and -- and you can't let that go? And I'm not supposed to object every time you go running across town to see Jason, huh? How's that remotely fair?

Carly: I was leaving a message for a friend.

Jax: Jason is dangerous for you and for Morgan, especially right now with all this hell breaking loose.

Carly: Oh, well, you get to use that as an excuse, don't you, for another ultimatum? Be my wife or Jason's friend, but you can't have both?

Jax: Look, given the situation, I don't think that's unreasonable.

Carly: I do. I love you and I want to spend the rest of my life with you, but I am not going to end my friendship with Jason. Now, you need to respect that and accept it.

Jax: I don't know if I can do that.

Maxie: I'll give her the message. Thanks. How can I help you?

Spinelli: It is I, The Jackal.

Maxie: Spinelli, hi.

Spinelli: I -- I bring sincere apologies and the bright blossoms of summer -

Maxie: They're gorgeous.

Spinelli: As a gift to fair Maximista to absolve the gross misunderstanding of yesterday. The Jackal does not consider Maximista a skank, far from it. He admires her greatly and desires her in the extreme.

Maxie: Well, thank you. I love flowers.

Spinelli: Ok.

Maxie: No, no, no. Kate doesn't allow personal items on the desk.

Spinelli: Well, on the table.

Maxie: No.

Spinelli: Oh, oh, oh, by the door.

Maxie: She would really have a heart attack.

Spinelli: Well then, where?

Maxie: Spinelli, I can't actually keep the flowers. They would, you know, upset the ambiance.

Spinelli: But it's a heart-felt gesture.

Maxie: I'm sorry.

Spinelli: A bitter disappointment, indeed.

Maxie: But I think that it's great that you went through all the trouble to get them for me. And you're the kindest, most nice person that I know.

Spinelli: Then my humble apology is accepted?

Maxie: Of course, Spinelli. I could never stay mad at you. You're my best friend.

[Phone rings]

Maxie: Hold on. Kate Howard's office.

Robin: I think you're taking this way too seriously.

Patrick: Oh, yeah.

Kelly: My next patient checks your blog every morning. You're her inspiration.

Robin: Oh, well, tell her I said thank you very much.

Kelly: I'll be glad to.

Patrick: These women are twisting our words around and using them against me.

Robin: I'm sure there's a positive post in there somewhere.

Patrick: I don't even think guys are reading this.

Robin: Are you surprised?

Patrick: Ok, Robin, these women are out of control. "Shove him off the bar stool." "Why are you wasting your life with this loser?"

Robin: Ok, so some women took some things out of context.

Patrick: This is what I get for being honest.

Robin: Listen, they're just commenting. It means nothing.

Patrick: I don't think you'd be so -- so calm and reasonable if you were the one getting slagged.

Robin: Don't be ridiculous, of course I would.

Claudia: You were having a bad night, Nicky. God, you fell off your horse. You bruised your ribs and I didn't want you going back out there and I -- I, you know, I just -- I was trying to help. I was trying to keep you -

Nikolas: It's ok. I know, it's ok. I appreciate it. It's just -

Claudia: I really was just trying to help.

Nikolas: I know. It's just too soon for me.

Claudia: Obviously, if you're going to beat yourself up like this over one little kiss.

Nikolas: You know, look. It's just -- it's just ironic, you know? I -- I mean, I was unfaithful to Emily when we were married before, which was completely selfish and unfair. And I felt guilty then, I did, just not like this.

Claudia: I don't know, maybe it's a delayed reaction.

Nikolas: I don't know. She -- she would be glad that you came out there to find me. She would.

Claudia: Really?

Nikolas: Yeah. She always used to get so worried about me when I would ride at night. You know, she'd say to me, "oh, you know you're going to break your neck someday."

Claudia: Ok, well -- look, we got through a really difficult night together, and we can just leave it at that.

Edward: What could be taking so long?

Tracy: They probably climbed out a window.

Alan: What's wrong with that? There's nothing to be ashamed of.

Tracy: Again, who asked you?

Edward: They're probably trampling Lila's roses trying to get away.

Alan: Well, mother would understand, especially if they're in love.

Tracy: And when did you become such a sap?

Alice: That's why Mr. Luke dumped you back at the house. You've been sitting around talking to Dr. Q again, haven't you?

Tracy: Mr. Luke did not dump me back at the house. I left. I wasn't interested in a pub crawl down the Sri Lankan waterfront.

Alan: What did you expect, cappuccino in bed every morning?

Tracy: What's wrong with cappuccino in bed every morning?

Edward: I imagine that you gave Luke an impossible ultimatum and he left you stranded somewhere, and then you had to come home. And now you are waiting desperately for him to call so that you can apologize.

Alan: Father's right, isn't he? Or close enough.

Tracy: I have nothing to apologize for.

Lulu: You don't get to pick on Johnny and me just because you're mad at my dad.

Carly: Hey, do you got a minute?

Bobbie: Oh, yeah, actually you have perfect timing. I'm just starting my break.

Carly: Oh, great. I saw Michael.

Bobbie: How's he doing?

Carly: They're taking good care of him. I'm not going to give up hope. I won't do that. But I am ready to try to figure out how to live my life.

Bobbie: You know, honey, you don't have to lay down any rules for yourself. Just do the best you can every day.

Carly: I really needed to hear that.

Bobbie: Be gentle with yourself and with everybody else. You don't have to make any big sweeping decisions right now. Just -- just give yourself some time to adjust.

Carly: I wish I could. I really wish I could, but Jax has been pushing me since the night it happened. He wants me to admit how bad it was, accept that there's no hope, stick Michael in an institution. He's being relentless and whatever I do isn't enough.

Bobbie: Men like to fix things.

Carly: Yeah.

Bobbie: Jax can't fix Michael.

Carly: Well, he's taking it out on me.

Bobbie: You're marriage is definitely in a rough patch.

Carly: We say that we want to stay together and make things work, but every time we do, something or someone gets in the way.

Jerry: Hello, little brother.

Jax: I don't have time for another crisis, Jerry. So if that's why you wanted to see me, this is really bad timing.

Jerry: Whoa, whoa, whoa, easy, little brother. I'm just leaving town for a few days on a business trip. I'm just telling you so you don't start dredging the harbor.

Jax: Great, thanks for the heads up.

Jerry: Why don't you come with me? I mean, a few days out of town might do you good. I mean, there's no daring rescue for a change. We -- we could even see Lady Jane. She'd love to see you.

Jax: I'd love to get away, but I'm not sure Carly would be waiting for me when I got back.

Jerry: Come on, that sounds a bit dire.

Jax: We've been in trouble since the miscarriage and losing Michael. I don't know if we're going to get through it.

Jerry: I'm sorry.

Jax: You know, we can't even have a normal conversation without fighting.

Jerry: Wait a minute. Are you seriously considering splitting up?

Jax: No, I don't -- I don't want to. I love Carly, it's just what we're doing right now is not working.

Jerry: All right, would you tolerate some advice from your complicated brother? I mean, granted, I'm in no position to criticize. All my relationships seem to end up in the morgue instead of divorce court, but -

Jax: So why don't you give it a shot?

Jerry: Well, perhaps none of your marriages have worked because you give up too easily.

Maxie: I'll let her know.

Spinelli: Perhaps Maximista would enjoy the chamber music series in the park weekend? You know, references to Bach and Mozart and even the deeply tormented and politically persecuted Shostakovich could make her appear astute and most cultured.

Maxie: That sounds really great, Spinelli, but I have to focus. If I don't find those distributor numbers for Kate -

Spinelli: Maybe we could follow that up with a candlelight dinner at casa de Stone Cold's.

Maxie: Yeah, I would love to stand around and talk to you about chamber music and Shostomacovich -

Spinelli: Shostakovich. He's a deceased 20th century Russian composer.

Maxie: Whatever. I have to prepare for this photo shoot and then I need to start getting ready for Federico's party.

Spinelli: Perhaps another time?

Maxie: Yeah, absolutely, but you don't have to cook. We could just do the cultured stuff then grab something from Kelly's.

Spinelli: The Jackal fears Maximista misinterprets his true intentions.

Maxie: No, I asked you to make me look smart and you're trying to follow through. I really appreciate -

[Phone rings]

Maxie: Go ahead, answer it. I'm busy, anyway.

Spinelli: 'Tis I, The Jackal.

Patrick: Spinelli, it's Dr. Drake. You want to finish that session on how to attract women?

Spinelli: Yes, I remain in desperate need of assistance.

Patrick: Great. I'm at Jake's.

Sonny: Jason's calling the shots. If you think he's doing something illegal, talk to him, but don't talk to me because I'm not involved anymore.

Alexis: What do you think I am, an idiot? You've been in business with Jason for I don't know how many years now -

Diane: Alexis, it is a matter of public record. Sonny Corinthos is sole proprietor of Corinthos Coffee Imports. Jason Morgan is no longer involved. Sonny signed over all other holdings to Jason. All the appropriate paperwork has been filed.

Alexis: Don't tell me you're working for both of them.

Diane: On separate retainers, yes.

Alexis: You must be making a fortune.

Diane: Hard earned, my friend, very, very hard earned. But that being said, I can assure you that Jason Morgan is also innocent of any wrongdoing, and any attempt to question him based on anything that Sonny has said is going to be a waste of time for everyone.

Alexis: Diane -- Diane, they're lying to you. Jason may be a front. Maybe he's not. Sonny knows what's going on. They're not telling the truth.

Sonny: Alexis, if you refuse to believe me or my lawyer, what are you doing here?

Diane: It's an excellent question.

Alexis: Notify your client that my office will be calling him. I'll talk to you later.

Diane: Fine.

Diane: You couldn't have picked a worse time to become a law-abiding citizen.

Claudia: I can't even imagine a love like what you had with Emily. I truly can't, but, Nikolas, she is gone and maybe it's time for you to focus on the things that you do have. You have a son. You have a brother. You have a sister. You have family. You have friends. Nikolas, you have a butler. Who has a butler? You have more money than you could ever spend and you -- you live your life on your own terms.

Nikolas: I know -- I know that it appears that way to you.

Claudia: Families are complicated, but you're doing ok with yours right now, right? Nobody's trying to kill you that you know of at the moment?

Nikolas: No. Look, I -- I appreciate everything you did for me last night. Really, I do.

Claudia: Hey, it's the least I can do considering what you are doing for me.

Nikolas: Oh, right, yes, what I'm doing for you. Your secret, that's right. I forgot. Is that why you came on to me last night, because you don't want me to tell anyone about your part in Michael Corinthos' shooting?
