Thursday June 19 - Part 1 Robin: Ok, we need a diversion.
Patrick: Epiphany doesn't do diversions.
Robin: What if we created some crisis at the hospital that only epiphany could solve?
Patrick: She runs that place so well, even when she's not there, she's still organized.
Robin: Right. What if I sent her out for some weird craving of mine, something rare and -- and healthy or something really good, like barbecued calamari.
Patrick: Hey, focus. First of all, epiphany probably knows somebody that grills squid for a living. Second of all, she would get suspicious. No-- ok, what if we did something with this whole medication scare at the hospital? You know, when she gave nikolas the drugs for his seizure and they didn't work.
Robin: That investigation is closed.
Patrick: I know, but what if we -- what if we asked her to look back into it, like people are getting contacted and she needs to look over the records and stuff?
Robin: That's really good, because then she would love to show up dr. Ford because of something that he missed. You didn't lock the door.
Patrick: My mistake.
Epiphany: I'm calling the police commissioner.
Patrick: No, you know what? I didn't come here to see robin, epiphany. I came here to see you.
Kate: Carly, it was purely a business decision to have the photo shoot here.
Carly: No, it wasn'T. You were sending me a message. My husband's fair game if i don't stay away from sonny.
Maxie: This is not going good.
Kate: You're embarrassing yourself, carly. You're making a mockery of your marriage and of your husband.
Lulu: Not good at all.
Alexis: Why is it that no one knocks here?
Ric: Well, I did, but obviously, you didn't answer.
Jerry: Which, to someone with a modicum of tact, would indicate that the district attorney is otherwise engaged.
Ric: Oh, well, what passes for jerry's wit and charm should play very well with the press.
Alexis: Press?
Ric: Yes, and the state representatives, who are on their way up here right now for a photo op.
Spinelli: "Sporadic constrictions of the small surface arteries will cause lividity and dark rings under the eyes." I have one of the telltale symptoms. I have -- I have dark rings under my eyes.
Claudia: Spinelli, we didn't sleep last night. It's normal.
Spinelli: Why did we not sleep last night? Why are we under a 24-hour quarantine? Because I exposed us to a highly contagious form of asian ague.
Claudia: This is not your fault.
Spinelli: Gosh, and now all we can do is sit around and wait for the symptoms to manifest themselves. Dangerous and sudden spike in temperature? Paroxysms of chills and fevers leading to a drenching sweat and possible -
jason: Just calm down, spinelli.
Claudia: Leave him alone.
Jason: He's making himself sick.
Spinelli: I sincerely hope I am not susceptible. Oh.
Claudia: What is it?
Spinelli: This disease that we've all been exposed to has a most pernicious and unwelcome side effect.
Claudia: What other side effects does this weird contagious disease have?
Jason: Please don't encourage him.
Spinelli: No, vixenella has a right to know what I have wrought, for it is my fault for exposing her and you and I to this dread illness, for foolishly trying to emulate the chairman of suave, affecting an aussie accent, imbibing distilled spirits so that maxie would see me more than a hopelessly inept dweeb, that i might storm her barricade, so to speak.
Claudia: Proving my point yet again that love kills, or in the very least can make you really sick.
Jason: Nobody's getting sick.
Spinelli: Yet.
Claudia: Don't you want to know what strange side effects we're in for? Sprouting horns? Sudden craving for human flesh?
Spinelli: Delirium.
Claudia: That's it?
Spinelli: Deep and prolonged delirium, during which the afflicted may ramble and divulge private thoughts and deeply guarded secrets.
Alexis: How could you call a press conference without consulting me?
Jerry: There is no press conference.
Alexis: What?
Jerry: No, it's obvious that ric is employing theatrics.
Ric: Look, you're not always going to get advanced warning,
alexis. Come on, you are the district attorney. You are the most highly respected representative of law enforcemenin the city. If your relationships can't stand up to scrutiny, maybe you want to reevaluate.
Alexis: You've made your point, ric.
Jerry: Yes, etiquette would have dictated a simple and tactful withdrawal, sir, and yours is minutes overdue.
Ric: I need to speak to alexis.
Jerry: Yes, and so would I, and I was here first, so if you need to find the door, you know, I'll be happy to assist.
Alexis: No, jerry, it's all right. It's probably better if I talk to him myself, but thank you.
Jerry: All right, if that's what you want, darling, of course.
Alexis: I know how you feel. I know that's not going to change, but you need to respect my privacy and stay the hell out of it.
Patrick: Your mother and I make a good team.
Robin: Mm, this food is so good.
Patrick: It's really good.
Robin: You better enjoy this, kiddo, because once you get here, we're going to eat very healthy.
Patrick: That's too bad. How long do you think epiphany will be gone for?
Robin: A while, I hope. I have to say, though, I feel bad about sending her on a wild goose chase.
Patrick: Yeah, well, maybe it isn'T. You know, maybe she'll review the charts, and maybe she'd find something that somebody else missed. Maybe -- maybe epiphany will be a hero.
Robin: So maybe we did a good thing.
Patrick: If it buys us some time, yeah, we did a good thing.
Robin: Would that be you talking me into having sex?
[Pounding on door]
Nadine: Can you believe the way the police commissioner was talking to dr. Drake?
Cassius: Well, if you ask me, that cop is paranoid.
Leyla: Patrick is not used to being talked to like that. That's for sure.
Nadine: Ah, he must be head over heels in love with her to put up with that. Oh, sorry. That was insensitive.
Leyla: It's ok. It stings a little bit, but i have to admit, I'm over patrick. I'm happy he found his way back to robin. It's what he wanted all along.
Nadine: I wish everyone were like you.
Leyla: Nobody wants to be the rebound girl. Trust me.
Nadine: Yeah, but you've accepted it instead of hoping for more.
Nikolas: Hoping for more of what?
Nadine: Oh, nikolas, hi. I didn't expect to see you here.
Nikolas: Why not? I'm not giving up on the clinic. I hope you're not.
Carly: Kate wants to rub it in my face that you are a partner in this magazine with her, and you are going to back her no matter what I say. It's no accident that she picked this hotel for the photo shoot.
Kate: It's ridiculous in so many ways I don't even know where to begin.
Carly: And now, she's talking down to me.
Kate: And I'm not supposed to respond?
Carly: Well, that's the point, right? You get a rise out of me, so i act all crazy, like this isn't about what alexis said last night about me and sonny. Jax, you know how I feel about sonny has nothing to do with us.
Kate: Carly, do you hear yourself? You are standing here with your husband, defending your relationship with another man.
Maxie: You are determined to make this a mess for me just because your boyfriend wants to take me out on a date.
Lulu: Johnny was only mad at me for making that bet with you.
Maxie: I don't have time to deal with this, ok. Why don't you go to the lab and pick up the proofs?
Lulu: Are you sure you can handle all this?
Maxie: Yes, I don't want you irritating dakota so much that she walks out on the shoot. I can cover until you get back.
Lulu: Ok.
Maxie: Is there anything else i can get for you?
Claudia: This could make for a very interesting experience. Imagine if the man of few words got delirious and suddenly started spilling his deep, dark secrets.
Jason: Or if you did. [Phone ringing]
Claudia: Plague central.
Johnny: Ok, is this some kind of joke? Are you working some angle or what?
Claudia: No, everything I left you on the machine is completely true. I'm in quarantine for 24 hours. I was exposed to some rare form of asian jungle fever.
Johnny: Are you ok?
Claudia: Yes, I feel fine. I don't have any symptoms yet. The worst part about it is the people I'm stuck with. Sorry, make that the person I'm stuck with. But you know me. I'll find some way to make the best of it.
Patrick: Ok, epiphany, I know what you're thinking now. There's something you need to understand. See, while -
robin: This is my apartment. This is my pregnancy, and from now on, I call the shots.
Ric: All right, look, we've been working well together as parents, right? I think it's important that the girls continue to see us getting along, you know?
Alexis: You should have thought about that before you pulled a stunt like telling me the press is about to descend on me in my office.
Ric: Come on, so it was a little heavy-handed -- all right, a lot heavy-handed. But alexis, the look on your face told it all.
Alexis: My personal life is none of your business, ok?
Ric: Do I have to start listing everything that jerry has done?
Alexis: No, and that would be very wise, considering you're the one who let anthony zacchara loose, so you're not in any position to judge.
Ric: Ok, I'm not judging, and I'm not begrudging you a life outside of the kids and work.
Alexis: Look, I know you think I'm an idiot and that I'm susceptible.
Ric: No, I think you're a beautiful and desirable woman, and it is very easy for you to believe that jerry is sincere with all this. But make no mistake -- if it came down to it, he'd turn on you in a heartbeat.
Jax: With all due respect, how I feel about carly's ongoing relationship with sonny is completely irrelevant here.
Carly: It's none of your business, kate.
Jax: However, I do agree with carly. You can't just set up a photo shoot in the lobby without telling us or warning any of the staff.
Carly: Yeah, the world doesn't volve around you.
Jax: That is true, but it does revolve around the magazine. Now I didn't just invest in a business. I invested in kate because of her proven track record, and if she says that this photo shoot is important for the success of the magazine, then I have to listen to that.
Kate: Yes, carly, I have too much riding on this to make it a -
jax: And since we're already set up, I would really appreciate it if you would just let them continue.
Robin: Epiphany, I -- i appreciate everything you've done. You're -- you're a dedicated and caring nurse.
Patrick: Exemplary. Epiphany: Well, that's a lot more than I can say for the patient.
Robin: But I didn't ask to be your patient. You know, I didn't hire you. My uncle mac did out of concern and because he's insanely overprotective of me.
Epiphany: But that's no reason to send a health professional on a wild goose chase.
Patrick: Yeah, but you know what? But I did have legitimate concerns about the meds being dispensed at the hospital.
Epiphany: Then you shouldn't have used it as an excuse to get rid of me. Not that I believed you, either one of you.
Robin: I'm sorry. This hasn't been fair to you. I am grateful for everything that you did, but the truth is, I wanted patrick here all along, and I just don't need anyone else.
Epiphany: I just came to get my suitcases. You know, next time, why don't you have the guts to speak up? You two are about to become parents, and I think it's about time that you start acting like grownups.
[Knocking on door]
Lulu: I know what you're thinking.
Johnny: You want to bet? Oh, but on second thought, that hasn't worked out too well for you, has it?
Lulu: Ok, I feel really bad that I sank to maxie's level and that I was willing to make that wager.
Johnny: Using me as the poker chip.
Lulu: I was just sick of maxie throwing herself at you, and you were letting her do it.
Johnny: I didn't do anything.
Lulu: That -- exactly. Exactly. It was like you were leaving the door open and -- and sending these subtle signals.
Johnny: Ok, if that's what you want to think, then -
lulu: I mean, god knows, the little slut doesn't need any encouragement, but this is just as much your fault.
Johnny: I don't send signals.
Lulu: You're sending them right now, acting like you can blow me off, and I'm not going to let you do it.
Johnny: Really?
Lulu: Really, because I'm kidnapping you.
Johnny: And what if I don't want to go?
Lulu: Well, I ha to warn you, I'm pretty desperate.
Johnny: Oh.
Lulu: Mm.
Johnny: And what is it you need me to do?
Lulu: I need you to cooperate, and no one will get hurt.
Johnny: Hmm.
Claudia: Come on, one game. Just something to break up the monotony. It's not like you can catch anything from me you don't already have. What do you say, mr. Spinelli?
Spinelli: Me?
Claudia: Come on.
Spinelli: Um, I lack stone cold's prowess. I won't be much of a challenge to vixenella.
Claudia: Good, that tes me you're a real man, and you're secure in your masculinity. You know those guys that you try to emulate all the time? They should really be trying to be a little bit more like you. All right, ready? You break. Over there. Yeah.
Spinelli: Ok. Hmm, I just got to -
claudia: Ok.
Spinelli: What? No, I think -- I think -
claudia: Here, here, let me show you. Ok, ready?
Spinelli: Yeah.
Claudia: You want to put it like that. Flip this over here a little bit more.
Spinelli: Ok.
Claudia: Then you want to relax, relax.
Claudia: But firm, firm here.
Spinelli: Firm? Ok.
Claudia: Do you feel that?
Spinelli: Yeah, I feel it.
Claudia: Feel that.
Spinelli: I feel it.
Claudia: That's good.
[Laughs]
Claudia: You ready?
Spinelli: This is kind of funny. Ah! Woo.
Claudia: Wow! Wow, sweet jesus!
Spinelli: How did I do that?
Claudia: Good job, spinelli. Ok, get another one. Come on.
Spinelli: Ok, ok.
Claudia: You're stripes. Hit another one.
Spinelli: Well, um.
Claudia: Here, let me.
Claudia: Ready? Bend down a little bit more.
Spinelli: Ok. This is fun.
What? Hey.
Jason: Just leave him alone.
Claudia: You want to take me on?
Sam: Here we are, home again.
Lucky: You don't say that with much enthusiasm.
Sam: I don't? All my life I think I've always felt like I wanted to feel settled. Now that I am, I kind of miss being able to just move on.
Lucky: I know how you feel. The road makes things easier. Or the sea, in your case.
Sam: Yeah, I don't know. You know, I always kind of feel like I was searching for something, maybe money, but no. I kind of feel like I've realized now that I was always searching for the one thing that would make me happy.
Lucky: Are you? Are you happy?
Sam: Whoa, when did this conversation get so deep and philosophical? I think it must be the jetlag.
Lucky: No, no, no, we didn't change time zones.
Sam: Oh, don't be literal. I'm going to go get us something to drink.
Lucky: Hey, you know what? And then when you come back, you're going to tell me what makes you happy.
Sam: Where is this coming from?
Lucky: I don't know. You know, just being on this trip, you -- I don't know. You sing, you laugh, you know, get in bar fights, just so relaxed. It's like you were a different person, and I just kind of wonder if there's anything that I can do to make you happy like that.
Sam: You do make me happy, and I -- I really do like the way that we are together. It's just that when I get too involved, I get possessive. I mean, even -- even desperate at times, and things can get ugly, as you know, and I just -- I don't want that to happen with you. You are like this amazing surprise, the guy I never expected to be with, and I just -- I don't want to do anything to mess that up.
Lucky: I don't either. You know, I just -- you know, i think we're both afraid to take the next step, because we're in limbo, but this trip just kind of showed me the future I think we can have together.
Robin: Epiphany was right.
Patrick: You're supposed to be avoiding stress. Stop beating yourself up about it.
Robin: I should have just been up-front about it.
Patrick: Robin, you didn't hire her. Your overbearing uncle with control issues did.
Robin: He can't help it. Mac raised me.
Patrick: Well, you're not his little girl anymore. He's got to let you go.
Robin: Ok, for a moment, just try to imagine, you know, a young man, you know, about your age, player, doesn't really want to settle down -- I know it's hard to imagine.
Patrick: Ok, ok, got it.
Robin: Ok, so that was mac, and then all of a sudden, he had to become my guardian and de facto father. I mean, he wasn't really equipped to deal with a teenager with raging hormones, much less one that had just been diagnosed with hiv,nd he was with me every single day, every step of the way, finding me the best doctors and the whole time blaming himself. I mean, it didn't matter how many times I told him that he couldn't have been a better parent or guardian to me. He still believes that it's his fault that I have hiv, and so yeah, I mean, he worries a lot, and he's a little overbearing, but I know that it all comes out of love.
Mac: Robin? Robin, it's mac. Look, I know epiphany quit. I better not find patrick in there.
Nadine: I haven't given up on the clinic, not for a second. I have a few ideas, actually.
Nikolas: Really? All right, well, I'd love to hear them.
Leyla: Cassius, come help me with the charts.
Cassius: What -- what is going on?
Leyla: They need their privacy.
Nikolas: Yeah, sounds great. I think a free immunization program is a -- is an excellent idea, and we could probably even get something in place before flu season.
Nadine: Great, and you know, offering prenatal screenings and care for young kids will definitely get the mayor to back off. He doesn't want to look like a jerk for turning us down.
Nikolas: You're pretty good at this.
Nadine: Thanks.
