Tuesday June 24, 2008 Part- 2

Patrick: Finally, that kid fell asleep.

Robin: Will you stop calling him "kid"? His name is Jake.

Patrick: Sorry. This has been a horrifying experience -- all that incessant yammering. And what was that slop you shoveled into his mouth?

Robin: It wasn't slop. It was food, and he liked it. And the yammering you were talking about? That was baby talk for, "mm, this is so good."

Patrick: You're not going to feed that stuff to our kid, are you?

Robin: Yes, eventually our kid will graduate to solid food.

Patrick: That was not solid. And trust me, it was not solid coming out.

[Knock at door]

Patrick: Perfect.

Patrick: Elizabeth.

Elizabeth: Hi.

Patrick: Lovely to see you.

Elizabeth: Oh, should I assume you're not going to beg me to leave Jake a little longer?

Patrick: Oh, no, I wouldn't want to keep Jake from his little buddies at the daycare anymore than what's necessary, since, you know, he didn't really need to leave in the first place. Nice scam, ladies.

Elizabeth: Scam? I don't know what you're talking about.

Patrick: This may come as a shock to both of you, but men have instincts and I followed mine and I called the daycare. And they said Jake was having a great time with all of his little friends until his mother swooped in and took him. They didn't know why, but I do. Robin put you up to this, didn't she?

Lulu: I thought you were supposed to be meeting your father.

Johnny: The elevator got stuck. Maxie and I have been waiting for someone to come fix it. All right, I've got to get upstairs and see my father who is going to call out the National Guard. Are you coming?

Lulu: No, you go ahead. Maxie and I have a few things to get straight.

Johnny: Find you later.

Maxie: Ok.

Johnny: And not you.

Lulu: Maxie, I swear on everything that has ever mattered to me, if you don't stop throwing yourself at Johnny, I will do something to get us both fired and you can kiss your career good-bye.

Maxie: You wouldn't be resorting to blackmail unless you were terrified you can't hold on to your boyfriend.

Lulu: You are unbelievable.

Maxie: He is too much for you, just like Luke was for Laura. What you can't see is that Johnny is the one thing in this world that could put you in a rocking chair, facing the wall.

Spinelli: You must somehow subvert your fate. Allow me to be your Tiresias, your blind prophet -

Jason: We're going to talk about this is in the morning. Why are you still here?

Spinelli: No -- the raven haired vixen must stay.

Claudia: Sweetie, don't work yourself up. I'm not going anywhere.

Spinelli: Ok, your instincts will tell you to remain loyal to Mr. Sir, to back him no matter what, but that would be a mistake. You must find it in your stone coldness to stand up to Mr. Sir or else risk being the instrument of his destruction.

Jason: You, you're not making any sense.

Claudia: I understand it perfectly.

Spinelli: Mr. Corinthos sir craves retribution for the physical devastation of little Michael, but not from another, from himself. He will use you to gain what he desires. He will come back to the business and force your hand, but do not acquiesce. Please, stand up to Mr. -

Jason: Ok, whatever. I'll stand up to Sonny, just lie down and get some rest.

Claudia: You realize that everything he just said is true.

Kate: Ok, I see, so we've been engaged for less than two hours and you already have cold feet?

Sonny: Not even close. I love you. You're the woman I want to spend the rest of my life with, but maybe that's being selfish again, you know? I mean, what's necessarily good for me might not be good for you. So if that's the case, you've just got to say so.

Kate: All right, sonny, I am going to make a speech right now. Are you listening? When I was a very young girl, I made a conscious choice to build my life to my specifications, to become an independent woman so that when and if the time ever came, I could marry for love, not for financial security, not for social standing. And guess what? I did that, and it led me to you. Nothing is going to stop me from becoming your wife.

[kisses]

Kate: Maybe we should wait and go the old fashioned route, save it for our wedding night.

Sonny: Not a chance.

Patrick: I want to hear you admit it. Robin asked you to dump Jake off to give me a little preview of baby life, didn't she?

Elizabeth: I will admit to no such thing. I was in a jam. I needed a sitter, thought of Robin, simple as that.

Patrick: Elizabeth, don't deny it. You're busted. And by the way, your little scam didn't work. I was great with Jake.

Elizabeth: Really?

Patrick: Yes.

Robin: When was that?

Patrick: Very funny. Ok, I was a little out of my realm in the beginning, but I'm not incapable of adapting.

Robin: All right, well, that wasn't the point.

Patrick: Ah, you set me up, didn't you?

Robin: Only for the purposes of demonstration. Obviously, you are smart enough to pick up a skill like diapering or feeding a child -

Patrick: Oh, well, thank you.

Robin: But that does not translate into wanting the burden of every day, day-to-day care. And the only reason that you did excel was because you wanted to stick it to me and Elizabeth. So that brings me to the pertinent question -- if I am having a baby, why would I want to live with someone who would rather be hung by their nails than have one around?

Patrick: How impossible are you going to be? Elizabeth has explained to me how much I'd be missing out if I didn't step up as a father. Elizabeth, could you explain it again, please? Clearly, Robin didn't retain it the first time.

Scott: Hey, I'm surprised that you agreed to meet me for dinner -- pleasantly, that is.

Logan: Well, I figured we could take this time to get to know each other a little better.

Scott: Well, now, that's encouraging. So how is it wheeling some old mobster around for a living?

Logan: Excuse me. Excuse me, I need to have a word with you.

Johnny: Yeah, I don't talk to the hired help.

Logan: If you gave a damn about lulu, you'd tell her you're as crazy as the rest of your family and leave her alone.

Johnny: Ok, try to follow -- I won, you lost. Lulu's mine. She doesn't want anything to do with you. That means -- hey, pay attention. You don't get a say in what goes on anymore in her life now get the hell out of my face and get back to work. My father might need to be wiped.

[Logan punches Johnny]

Scott: Hey, hey, call security. He, hey, hey, hey, hey.

Scott: Zacchara, I will have you arrested.

Lulu: Is Kate here?

Maxie: No, she's out for the day with sonny and she doesn't want to be disturbed, so you don't need to worry about liking your job.

Lulu: Good, because I want to get something straight with you. My mother has an incurable condition called psycho-motor disassociation. She had a total emotional and psychotic break. She is trapped inside her own body. No one can be certain what she feels or if she's aware of what's going on around her. No one can be sure that she's not screaming inside every single day for somebody to help her. So when you say that my mom's sitting in a rocking chair staring at a wall, it's not a joke. It's not some everyday snarky Maxie insult, it's cruel. It's like making fun of somebody with cancer or aids. So if you want to come after me, come after me any way you want. But if you ever make fun of my mother again -

Maxie: You can skip the empty threats, Lulu. Ok, I knew I went too far as soon as the words came out of my mouth. What happened to your mom was way too awful to use as ammunition in a fight, and I'm sorry. I know you won't believe me when I say it.

Lulu: Well, don't even say it then.

Maxie: But I'm pretty sure we won't talk about this again, so I might as well get it off my chest. Your mom went crazy for a reason.

Lulu: Yes, because Scott Baldwin made her believe that she killed Rick Weber.

Maxie: What about all the stuff that happened with your dad? The danger, the loss -- don't you think that had anything to do with it?

Lulu: You're saying that my -- what, my dad's to blame?

Maxie: I'm saying that you're Laura's daughter, and you're taking a lot of the same chances that she did.

Claudia: Your young friend is not only sick smart, he's also very perceptive. Especially about the weird dynamic between you and Sonny.

Jason: You're not one to talk about weird dynamics. He's babbling. He's got a fever.

Claudia: He was dead on. Sonny blames himself for what happened to Michael. He thinks he deserves to be punished, so he gives away the business that he spent his entire life building, just hands it over to you? That's not enough pain for Sonny. He's gonna convince himself that he wants it back, that he deserves it. You took it from him, so he will force your hand. He will get himself all worked up into a good mad, and then he'll make a run for you. And he will maneuver himself into a situation where you're forced to kill him, saving himself the pain and the mess. And then finally, the punishment fits the crime.

Jason: I don't deal in made up situations.

Claudia: You don't read a lot of Greek tragedies, do you? This couldn't be more Oedipal, unless you slept with your mother and gouged your eyes out.

Jason: Are you delirious?

Claudia: Ok, when everything that Spinelli just predicted comes true, I will try really hard not to remind you that you were warned.

[Spinelli moans]

Claudia: It's time to get him to a hospital.

Kate: Sonny, I need you.

Sonny: You ok?

Kate: I need a refill.

[Sonny chuckles]

Kate: Please.

Sonny: All right.

Singer: Oh my baby we both know sonny: Here you go.

Kate: Thank you.

Sonny: I see something here. I got -

Singer: Bring us back to love quietly we whisper and softly we collide we move toward each other you feel like a dream that's made me believe it's true I've spent all of my life just waiting for someone

Sonny: I'm coming.

Kate: I'm waiting.

Singer: Please let's stay

Sonny: Wow.

Singer: Baby please

Sonny: Whew.

Singer: No one else to need waiting all my life so baby please so many loves have cried so many loves have lied so many many many times and I'll never leave you cold baby please

Elizabeth: I know, I never should have projected my opinion on to your situation.

Robin: I think what Elizabeth is saying is that she thinks she should keep a safe distance.

Elizabeth: No, no, that's not what I said, either.

[Elizabeth sighs]

Elizabeth: Ok, fine. If the two of you are going to insist that I get in the middle, I will tell you what I really think. Every set of parents is different. Some men are ideally suited for raising children and some are not. And still others are not capable of eing there for a number of reasons. But the important thing, the critical thing, is that you guys always remain honest with each other so no one person is expecting more than the other is prepared to give. And the two of you can decide if what's available to be had is enough -- or not. My suggestion to you both is that you really, really talk it through before this baby gets here. And that's the extent of my advice. I'm going to go get my kid now.

Patrick: I can see why you are friends with her.

Robin: What do you mean?

Patrick: Well, I only see Elizabeth in a professional setting. I forget how much life experience she has and how wise she is from it.

Elizabeth: Thank you both very much for taking such good care of him. Can you say bye-bye, Jake?

Robin: Bye.

Elizabeth: Say bye-bye, see you soon.

Robin: Bye, Jake.

Robin: I have to say I am very impressed with you.

Patrick: Why?

Robin: Because you were man enough to respect Elizabeth's advice even though she sided with me.

Patrick: What are you talking about? It was clear she was on my side.

Lulu: Let me guess where this is going. I am too fragile to be with Johnny. I should stay away from him for my own good. You are so predictable, not to mention shameless, for using my mother's condition as a way to try and break up me and Johnny.

Maxie: I have no problem going after Johnny wearing a bathing suit or taking advantage of time spent stranded together in an elevator. None of that is any more or any worse than what you did breaking up Georgie and Dylan's marriage.

Lulu: Oh, god, are you ever going to stop throwing that in my face?

Maxie: Probably not, because I miss my sister and I hate that her life's over. I try not to obsess about it. But when I let myself, I think that if Georgie had stayed with Dylan, maybe she would still be alive.

Lulu: Are we comparing horrible things we've done?

Maxie: I'm trying to explain to you that where I would be happy to hurt your feelings and take away your boyfriend, I do not want you to lose your mind.

Lulu: Uh, my mind is just fine, thank you.

Maxie: Your mom was unstable and cracked after years of violence and loss and now you're in a serious relationship with a mob prince who has a homicidal father? Tell me how any of that is good for -

Lulu: You don't know what you're talking about right now.

Maxie: Illnesses run in families, everything from breast cancer to bipolar disorder. You have Laura's genes, so why are you taking the same chances?

Lulu: Ok, all right, you know what? I think that you are trying to show concern in a twisted and completely inappropriate way right now, but you don't have to worry, ok? Because I'm not my mother and I'm not going to go crazy over Johnny or for any other reason.

Det. Harper: So you're telling me what we've got here is your basic public brawl. I'm a detective.

Scott: Yeah, and I'm the Special Prosecutor. That's why I called you. Now, I want you to arrest him on assault charges.

Johnny: That's not at all what happened.

Det. Harper: Are you willing to give your statement?

Johnny: I don't say a damn thing without my lawyer.

Scott: Well, you better have yourself a pretty good lawyer. Now here's what happened. He attacked my son. He went into some kind of psycho rage and he tried to kill him -- I want you to arrest him Harper. Arrest him now.

Det. Harper: You have a right to remain silent. Anything you say may be used against you in a court of law. You have a right to an attorney. If you can't afford an attorney, one will be provided for you at interrogation time and at court.

Kate: This can't wait. There's been a change in plans that affect everything.

Paramedic: How long since your first exposure?

Jason: 24 hours.

Paramedic: The virus is only contagious for the first two to four hours, both of you past it.

Jason: What about Spinelli?

Paramedic: He's not contagious, but his fever is in the danger zone and he's not responding to medication. We need to get him to the E.R. Stat.

Claudia: He's going to be fine. We got them here in time. He's -- he's going to be fine.

Jason: You don't -- you don't know that. I mean, sometimes the worst really happens.

[Carly reading to a sleeping Morgan]

Carly: "And the children laughed and laughed and laughed."

Carly: I'm sorry I've been so distracted, baby. You see, here's a pretty good chance I could be pregnant and that would be wonderful news, except for one thing. The baby could be Sonny's as easily as Jax's.

>> On the next "General Hospital" -

Carly: I was just, um -

Jax: Confessing to Morgan.

Patrick: Now you're saying its better that my child doesn't me at all? Maxie: You have to get better. I don't know what I would do without you.

Claudia: Spinelli is the only guy I've met that's not trying to sleep with me or kill me. Which one are you again?
