Thursday June 26, 2008 Part 1

Carly: Hey, thanks for taking Morgan to day camp again.

Jax: I love spending time with him. That Mercedes is going to be busy from now on. I have to get used to it.

Carly: You know what? We need to make a decision about when we're going to start those hotel renovations, because the architect needs to know what's going on and so does the staff.

Jax: Ok. Are you feeling queasy again?

Carly: I'm not pregnant.

Jax: Well, how do you know unless you've taken a test?

Nadine: Hey.

Nikolas: Hey.

Nadine: This place is amazing. I can't believe we're already ready to open the doors.

Nikolas: I can't believe you're actually here before me.

Nadine: Well, it's hard to explain what it means, being able to just help someone without asking for their insurance card. You should be really proud of what you've done.

Nikolas: I am, but I had a lot of help. Because of you this place is a real tribute to Emily. Thank you.

Anthony: Handcuffs?

Officer Riley: It's procedure

Anthony: Procedure. Imagine I had your son dressed up like an animal, and I told you it was procedure officer Riley.

Anthony: You ok?

Johnny: I spent the night in jail so how you think I am?

Anthony: That's what you get for going after Logan in a public place. I thought you better than that. Alright I'm going to get you out of here whatever it takes.

Jerry: I missed you.

Alexis: You didn't have time I just left you a few minutes ago. You got sixty seconds make it good.

Claudia: Yeah, go ahead. No really, I can wait.

Carly: I'm fine. It's passed, ok? Jax: You still haven't answered my question.

Carly: When did this become an interrogation?

Jax: When you started dodging.

Carly: No, I didn't take a test, because there's no reason.

Jax: But you're feeling nauseous. That's called morning sickness.

Carly: No.

Jax: Yes.

Carly: I ate something bad.

Jax: Ok, let's just say there's a slight chance that you'd be pregnant. Wouldn't it make sense to start taking care of yourself soon as possible?

Carly: I didn't have wine with you last night, and I didn't have coffee this morning. Are you happy? Jax: Right, so you're saying thebe is a chance that you're pregnant?

Carly: No, no, no, you think there's a chance.

Jax: Oh, no, that's an awful lot of trouble to go through just to indulge me. Come on, why don't you just take a test and find out? Come on.

Carly: Because maybe I don't want to know.

Nadine: I organized the supplies according to the frequency with which they'll be used, sort of like a triage.

Hilda: When the levels get low, the computer will automatically generate a purchase order and send it to my inbox as clinic manager and to each of you.

Nadine: So we can spend less time bookkeeping and me time helping people.

Nikolas: Thank you. You -- you did a great job getting everything together in such a short time. Thank you.

Nadine: Well, now all we need is people to help. Hi.

Leyla: Hi. I stopped by for a few hours to volunteer, but have you guys had to delay opening?

Nikolas: No, no, we're -- we're actually open. Thebe's just no one here.

Leyla: To take advantage of a free clinic? People should be lining up.

Nikolas: I know, I know. You're bight, and I'm sure that it's no accident that they're not.

Monica: Oh, my god. Has something happened to Edward?

Tracy: No, no, no, daddy's fine. Well, he's not fine. Since Michael's accident, he just sits in the study and broods. Actually, I was thinking of making up some crisis at E.L.Q. To give him something to focus on.

Monica: Well, that's ok with me. I mean, as long as we keep him moving. So that's not why you're here.

Tracy: Do I have to have a reason?

Monica: Yeah, yeah, pretty much. What, have you run out of people to harass in Port Charles?

Tracy: Oh, nice to see your recovery is progressing. You're still the pain in the ass you always were.

Monica: Well, you know, like they say, one day at a time. But I am back to reading the medical journals so I can get back to work and get my life back.

Tracy: I'm glad.

Monica: Thank you. I'm not, however, at the stage of the apologies and the reparations at the moment, so if that's why you're here -

Tracy: No, no, I need your advice about Lulu.

Anthony: I've spoken to the monkey. I heard his version now I want to hear yours.

Johnny: I can handle this.

Anthony: Clearly not. Listen, you had a taste of running things when you thought I was done, and that's all right. It's nature. It's the biological imperative. The young needing to push out the old. But John, I'm not ready to spend my days pruning the roses. Not yet. I'm a fact of your life, just like this garbage they're trying to pin on you. I know you're not stupid enough to go after somebody in public unprovoked, but they're going to try to make that stick, and Trevor says they're talking about attempted murder.

Johnny: That's a joke.

Anthony: It's not a joke.

Johnny: Fine. Logan had a thing for Lulu. He still does she cut him loose, and he didn't want to take no for an answer, so he got in my face at the hotel last night, told me that I'm putting Lulu in too much danger and I should walk away. I didn't like that idea, so he hit me. I hit him back harder.

Anthony: This isn't about who started a fistfight. This as about your name. You're my son. They couldn't hold me. They couldn't keep me locked up, so now they're coming after you. The cops, special prosecutor Baldwin, that bitch Alexis Davis. But as God is my witness, John, they will not get away with it.

Alexis: Why are you here?

Claudia: Justice would be nice. My brother spent the entire night in lockup for defending himself.

Alexis: The special prosecutor was there.

Claudia: The special prosecutor is Logan's father. One could almost understand him subverting the law, abusing the power of his office to protect his son. What's your excuse?

Alexis: We're done here.

Claudia: Being frisky, Ms. Davis, because you're getting some?

Jerry: excuse me. You're forgetting yourself, Ms. Zacchara.

Claudia; no, I don't forget anything, Mr. Jacks. Logan Hayes is walking around free, and my brother spent the night in lockup for no other reason than his name is Zacchara.

Alexis: Assault is assault. It has nothing to do with his name.

Claudia: If that was true, then you wouldn't be getting so cozy with a man here who has committed a number of assaults himself.

Alexis: Out. You better tell me what's going on between the two of you, because if you don't, I'm sure Claudia will be more than happy to.

Tracy: This is not just some rebellious teenager. Lulu is involved with John Zacchara.

Monica: Do you think that he had anything to do with what happened to Michael?

Tracy: No, but plenty others just like it, and I don't want Lulu to be another name on his list.

Monica: So why did you come to me?

Tracy: Because nothing I say is getting through to Lulu. I warned her about Dylan. We all know how that ended up. Then I warned her about Logan, the son of her father's worst enemy.

Monica: Tracy, Tracy, have you looked at my track record as a parent? I mean, Emily and -- and A.J. Are gone. Jason is slowly destroying himself and you come t me for advice?

Tracy: Because you've been through it.

Monica: I seem do remember that I was the one that advocated that Jason should have his space. He should -- he should be free to make choices.

Tracy: And if you had it to do over again, what would you do?

Monica: Everything in my power to get him away from Sonny and that lifestyle. Everything. So that is my advice to you, Tracy. You do everything that is absolutely necessary to get Lulu away from Zacchara and that mob. Come on, you're good at manipulating and scheming. Now is the perfect time to put those skills to use. You do whatever you can do. Don't make the same mistake I did. You go and you save that girl's life.

Johnny: Hi, just missed the old man.

Claudia: Think that was an accident? I'm worried about you, Johnny. I can't deal with his mind games right now.

Johnny: Fine.

Claudia: I can't believe they're doing this to you.

Johnny: Look, compared to being locked up in a padded cell and knocked around all day by Sonny and his band of merry men, this is nothing. Besides, they got nothing on me. The people at the hotel saw it was a fair fight.

Claudia: John, listen. Logan Hayes's father is the special prosecutor.

Johnny: Ok, and our father is Anthony Zacchara. He sees an attack on me as an attack on him. He takes it personally.

Claudia: Yeah, I hate that old man, but I'll tell you what. I'm happy right now that he's in your corner. Maybe that'll make her think twice before she tries to do this to you again.

Claudia: Alexis Davis. She's the one who's keeping you in lockdown while she's up there having a quickie in her office with Jerry Jacks.

Johnny: Nice. Jerry: I love it. Id brings color to your cheeks, jealousy. It makes you even more desirable. Alexis: I wouldn't be a very good attorney if I got distracted that easily.

Jerry: Come on, I have nothing resembling a personal relationship with Claudia Zacchara, your honor, much less a sexual encounter.

Alexis: You were pawing her on the docks.

Jerry: It was just a kiss. I mean, it was just done to, you know, to get a reaction out of you.

Alexis: Sleeping with you doesn't make me totally stupid. I know that you were interested in doing business with her, and the two of you were clearly sparring just then.

Jerry: Come on, Claudia's beloved brother is in custody she holds you responsible for it. She's using our relationship to get to you and being rather obvious about it.

Alexis: There's something obvious about this, which is why you can't come to my office anymore. I don't want you anywhere around the vicinity of where I work.

Jerry: You know what? Suddenly, I feel used.

Alexis: You'll get over it.

Jerry: Well, you'll make it up to me, though.

Kate: So, Sonny and I have discussed it further, and we have decided to go for an autumn wedding, which will dictate color and palette and fabric.

Maxie: That's -- that's not much time.

Kate: Well, then, Maxie, let's not waste a moment. I need to speak with Federico and Maha about the gowns, and where is Lulu?

Maxie: She's in Manhattan picking up the proofs for the hotel photo shoot because Yoji is still using film.

Kate: Oh, wow. Yoji could stick pinholes in cardboard boxes for all I care. His work is fabulous.

Maxie: Anything else?

Kate: Yes, those photos need to be placed in the flat pan by the end of the week. Otherwise, we won't stay on schedule. And I want a copy on my desk by then.

Maxie: What about the shoes and gowns?

Kate: Yes, let's talk about e wedding. Ok, shoes. I think that Stuart will do a fabulous job on some shoes, and oh, I want Karl Levant to do Sonny's tux.

Maxie: Ok, I will make a call.

Kate: Ok, and -- oh, no, wait, Maxie. Make sure you make a list of the floral designers.

Maxie: Oh, ok.

Kate: And Maxie, you need to set up a meeting for me and Jax in Manhattan with the European distributors.

Maxie: Oh, they were under the impression you were meeting them at their offices in Paris.

Kate: Oh, no, I don't think at Jax is going to want to travel far away from home. It's not common knowledge, but Carly is pregnant.

Carly: Look, I know how badly you want a child. I just put my -- I just put Michael in a permanent care facility, and I'm struggling to get through each day, and I'm terrified for Morgan.

Jax: Oh, that was the whole point of Sonny giving up paternity, so you wouldn't have to be.

Carly: I know that, but it's common knowledge that Morgan is Sonny's son, and until Jason's been running the business for a while and until Sonny's enemies believe that he's gone legit, Morgan's still a target, and I don't want to bring another baby into this world with that fear.

Jax: Hey, listen to me. If you are pregnant, we will find a way to keep the baby and Morgan safe, ok?

Carly: More than anything, it's too soon. I'm not ready. I need some time. I mean, if I'm pregnant, we're going to know, because I'm going to start showing some signs, and if I'm not, we're going to know that, too. But just not knowing just seems easier right now, and I -- can you understand that?

Jax: Yeah, ok, ok. I understand. I understand. I'm sorry I pressured you. Ok. I'm late for work. You call me if you need me, ok? Ok.

Carly: Hey, I need to see you as soon as possible.

Scott: You ready to get your game on, toots?

Alexis: If by that you mean throw you out on your misogynistic butt, sure.

Scott: Oh, now, I'm sure your boyfriend Jerry has said a lot worse things to you.

Alexis: You got the memo, too? My private life isn't open for discussion anymore.

Scott: Well, it is when you bring it into the office, Alexis. Come on, come on, come on. Lighten up, ok. We're on the same team. I'm here to help.

Alexis: With what?

Scott: Well, the charges that we're going to bring against little Johnny the mobster in his arraignment. First of all, bail denied.

Alexis: I'm not sure I'm filing any charges.

Scott: He tried to kill my son.

Alexis: Well, preliminary interviews said that the fight was a fair fight. In fact, one of the witnesses said that your son threw the first punch.

Scott: Ah, come on. Come on,

Alexis. It's the mob, for crying out loud. They're paying off witnesses.

Alexis: So? I'll trip them up in court.

Scott: Not if they're afraid for their lives.

Alexis: Why are you pushing this so hard? It's just two boys fighting over a girl.

Scott: Because your ex-husband, Lansing, the father of your child, is representing Anthony Zacchara. He got him released from prison.

Alexis: What's your point?

Scott: My point is that you didn't put up much of a fight. Your conduct might be in question. In fact, the state board might be interested.

Alexis: I'll stand behind my professional conduct, which is a lot more than I can say for yours, toots.

Scott: You'll keep Johnny locked up. Otherwise, my name will be back on this plaque.

Claudia: What is it about the opposite sex that makes normal, intelligent people like yourself turn into mental defectives? They throw everything out the window. I don't -- I don't get it.

Johnny: Clearly.

Claudia: Ok, look, we're animals, Johnny. We have animal instinct and don't, period. You know, there is a way, though, we can make this whole situation go away. If you broke up with Lulu, then she would go running back to Logan Hayes, and everybody would be happy.

Johnny: Yeah, not funny.

Claudia: I'm only half kidding, Johnny. That girl's trouble.

Johnny: I know you don't like her.

Claudia: I don't like what she's doing to you. Ok, you were ready to step up, John. You were going to take over the business, and -

Johnny: Hey, our father was bedridden, incapacitated, and out of sound mind.

Claudia: Yeah.

Johnny: Now he's back.

Claudia: Yeah, he's back now, and he's using Lulu to keep you in line.

Johnny: That's what I want him to think.

Claudia: You don't even see it, Johnny. You are too wrapped up in that whiny, immature little thing and her high school drama. I mean, come on. Her ex-boyfriend attacks you, starts a fight in a public place. Johnny, I could see it - I really could, if she was a woman that was up to your standards, if she was a woman who was fiery and passionate and had a brain on her, for god's sakes. But I don't get it, Johnny. I really don't get it. Why is that girl worth the trouble? Please tell me, because I - I want to know.

Johnny: It's not even worth explaining. You think love kills.

Claudia: I think love could be really dangerous for you. I think getting all wrapped up in some girl could push you right over the edge, could take you and -- look t could turn you from a really decent, normal guy with a couple of wild impulses into a guy like our father, who gets what he wants and kills what he loves.

Leyla: I just don't understand. The people who should be pouring through those doors are the very people General Hospital is turning away.

Hilda: We're not in competition.

Leyla: Well, then why would anyone stop us from giving free health care to people who can't afford it?

Nikolas: Ah, Mayor Floyd.

Mayor Floyd: The response to your free clinic seems underwhelming.

Nikolas: Yes, well, that may have something to do with the fact that my ads were pulled pending review by the department of public health.

Mayor Floyd: Well, standards had to be met. Nikolas: Standards have been met. You're just trying to scare people away and choke us with red tape, and you know it.

Mayor Floyd: I have an obligation to protect the public.

Nikolas: Your obligation is to protect the HMOs and the drug companies as well as the bottom line of your buddies on the board of directors.

Mayor Floyd: Well, that is a bit grandiose to think that your little clinic poses a major threat to corporations.

Nikolas: Well it's about- it's about setting a precedent, is it not, mayor? I mean, giving away medications and -- and services that corporations can charge an arm and a leg for, right? Better let the uninsured suffer and die than upset the status quo, right?

Mayor Floyd: You want to honor the memory of your late fiancée by doing some good. I admire that. But there are better ways of doing it.

Nadine: We have our first patients.

Nikolas: Oh, excuse me. I have work to do.

Nadine: Go ahead and take a seat. Go ahead and take a seat.

Coleman: Hi, Carly.

Carly: Hey.

Coleman: Your usual. I was -- I was really sorry to hear about your son. It's -- it's on the news.

Carly: You know what? I'll take some water instead. Thank you.

Diane: Hi.

Carly: Hi.

Diane: Any particular reason you wanted to meet me here?

Coleman: Oh my favorite lady lawyer. What are you in the mood for?

Diane: Single malt scotch, neat.

Coleman: Single malt scotch.

Diane: Not that I don't appreciate the ambiance, but you did indicate that this was going to be a business conversation.

Carly: I need to know if this is covered under attorney-client privilege.

Diane: Jason has me on a very generous retainer, because one of my more challenging responsibilities is representing you. So yes, I am speaking as your attorney, and nothing you say will go any further.

Carly: Great. I might be pregnant, and Sonny or Jax could be the father.

Diane: [Coughs] Mr. Coleman, cancel the scotch. I'm going to need a clear head for this.
