Wednesday July 9, Part- 1

Elizabeth: I'm sorry. I'm interrupting.

Jason: No, I should -- I should get going. It's really not great for me to be sitting out in the open here with you.

Robin: I'm glad you did. Thank you. You -- you helped me understand how Patrick could feel as a father.

Jax: Ok, first of all, I haven't cheated on you, ok? I have not been unfaithful.

Carly: well, maybe your definition of unfaithful is a little bit different than mine.

Jax: I take it you saw the picture.

Carly: Hard to miss. It's all over the internet.

Jax: Yeah. People are desperate for entrainment these days, aren't they?

Carly: I'm glad you find it so funny.

Jax: Well, it kind of is, actually. I have nothing to hide, ok? I take it the picture probably looks a little compromising, right? But you should know me better than that, Carly. Kate lost her engagement ring. So she was on her knees in the limo looking for it in between the seat cushions.

Carly: You know, that's exactly the kind of lame excuse a cheating husband would make.

Kate: Look, I can only imagine what you're thinking.

Sonny: Yeah, you tell me what I'm thinking.

Kate: Oh, that's unflattering and extremely misleading. Look, I -- I was looking for my ring. At that exact moment, the doors opened. The paparazzi was standing right there.

Sonny: Where's the ring?

Kate: Here I wouldn't leave the limo without it.

Sonny: Ok. So you just fell right off. Is that what you're saying? You -- you -

Kate: I don't know, Sonny. I had my wrap. It was over -- I have no idea.

Sonny: Yeah, ok.

Kate: You know what? You know what?

Sonny: What?

Kate: You could give me a little bit of credit. I mean, do you really think I would make up such a ridiculous story? And you know that I would never ever cheat on you.

Sonny: I know.

Claudia: What happened to the door?

Johnny: Logan came after me with that.

Claudia: Were you two here?

Johnny: No. It was just me and Logan. He tried to kill me and I killed him first.

Claudia: Tell me exactly what happened. Don't leave anything out.

Johnny: Ok. I don't want Lulu hearing any of the details. She used to date the guy. Will you get her out of here?

Claudia: No, no, nobody's going anywhere until I figure this out.

Johnny: What's to figure out? The guy came after me with an axe. I grabbed the nearest weapon and stabbed him. It was self-defense.

Claudia: The police are not going to buy that, Johnny. And neither is Scott Baldwin. He wanted to charge you with attempted murder for punching his son at the Metro Court. Remember?

Lulu: You cannot tell Scott Baldwin that you did this.

Claudia: No, he will have you on death row for killing his son.

Lulu: No.

Maxie: Will you calm down for one second, please?

Claudia: Tell me exactly everything that happened. I need to know what I'm covering up.

Jason: If Patrick is any kind of father, he'll do what's best for his child, no matter what it costs him.

[Jason stares at Elizabeth and then left]

Robin: I never expected Jason to help me see things from Patrick's point of view. But you know what? He's right. He's right. I can't just take the baby away from Patrick. I have to convince him that the baby would be better off if he wasn't around.

Elizabeth: Isn't that what you've been trying to do?

Robin: Well, I have to try harder, obviously. And if Patrick won't listen to me, then he will have to listen to the judge.

Elizabeth: Well, you know, there's no guarantee the judge is going to be on your side. And you might say something that you can't take back.

Robin: I hate being in love with someone who could never give me the future that I want.

Elizabeth: Tell me about it.

Patrick: You don't get to show up out of nowhere and have an opinion about me and my child.

Noah: Doctors without borders isn't exactly nowhere, and yes, I do.

Patrick: Well, maybe you should go back, like, immediately.

Noah: You know, you can't drag Robin into court and sue for visitation for a child that's not even born yet. That's crazy.

Patrick: I am not going to let her run me out of my child's life.

Anna: I have to say something here. In all fairness to Patrick, as much as I love Robin, she is forcing his hand.

Patrick: Thank you.

Anna: You know, I mean, she's gone into this sort of hyper-control mode and -- and she's trying to push him away to prove that she doesn't need him when, of course, you know, she desperately needs him.

Patrick: And I hope you say that at the hearing tomorrow.

Anna: Yeah, I plan to.

Noah: Wait. You -- you're testifying against your own daughter?

Anna: Or I'd like to think that I'm standing up for my grandchild's father.

Noah: Well, then I'll stand up for my grandchild's mother. I mean it. You drop the lawsuit or I'll tell who -- whatever judge that you're not fit to be a father.

Kate: So, you understand that what happened between me and Jax was just an accident.

Sonny: Yeah, you can't lie to me.

Kate: You weren't sitting here, in the dark, imagining me in the throes of a wild affair?

Sonny: I wouldn't be marrying you if I didn't have faith in you.

Kate: All right, so let me get this straight. I'm -- I'm standing here. You let me stand here, blabbering, trying to apologize, feeling like an idiot. I flew straight back. I missed the benefit. I was a wreck imagining that your macho instincts had kicked in and you were obsessed over nothing.

Sonny: You call that nothing?

Kate: I was terrified that I would lose you and you have been sitting here playing me the entire time.

Sonny: Yeah, kind of, a little bit.

Kate: And you find it amusing.

Sonny: No, I just -- I -- when you get mad, you're really pretty and -- and I like that because it -- it means that I matter to you.

Kate: Oh.

Jax: Kate lost her engagement ring just as we were arriving at the party. A photographer opened the door and, of course, he took some photos, and it looked bad. It looked bad. But nothing happened.

Carly: Ok, let's say I believe you.

Jax: Thank you. Let -- let's say you do.

Carly: Can you look me in the eye and swear to me that you've never kissed Kate Howard? And I don't mean on the cheek at a party.

Jax: No. I -- I did kiss Kate once.

Carly: When?

Jax: It was the night of the -- the gala in Manhattan. It was the same night that you and Sonny took Michael to the institute. Just -- I guess we were both feeling left out.

Carly: So this is my fault. I pushed you to Kate.

Jax: No, I didn't say that.

Carly: You don't have to say it. You're implying it.

Jax: Look, Carly, it was one kiss, ok?

Carly: Oh, so one kiss doesn't count? I'm only allowed to be upset if it happened two, three, four -

Jax: No, no -- I didn't say -

Carly: Hell, fifteen times and then I can be upset.

Jax: I'm not -- I'm not saying that. It was a -- it was a mistake, ok? I made a mistake.

Carly: Were you ever going to tell me? Or did you think I wasn't going to find out?

Jax: No, I probably would have told you about it later. But, with everything that was going on, I thought that it was -- it was bad timing.

Carly: Why can't you just admit to me that you're attracted to Kate? Just admit it.

Jax: Because -- because I'm not attracted to Kate. We're business partners. We happen to be friends and that's it.

Carly: You have business partners all over the world that you don't drop everything for, anytime they want a meeting.

Jax: We've talked -- we've talked about this before. Kate needs my support right now because I am the primary investor in "Crimson." We've had this conversation -

Carly: Kate needs your support. Ok, so is that why you give Kate anything she wants and she's so much more important than what I need?

Jax: No.

Carly: Is that why?

Jax: That is not true.

Carly: Bull. Because I wanted you to stay in town and take me to dinner tonight. Do you know how long it's been since I wanted to go to dinner, that I feel like going out? But did we talk about it? Did we even have a conversation about it? No. We had a little argument and you left. You walked out. And then when you feel like you may have messed up, you come back turning on the charm. Since you've gotten involved with "Crimson," you tell me one time that you have picked me over Kate. Just once, because you didn't tonight. You didn't when Kate set up shop in our hotel. You certainly didn't put me first the day she wanted that photo shoot in our lobby. And you didn't put me first the night Michael was shot.

Jax: It always comes back to that.

Carly: You're damn right, it does. Well, you know what? Call Kate Howard. Call her and tell her how unfair Carly's being. Because, clearly, Kate Howard is more important than our marriage.

Claudia: How did this happen, John? Logan just showed up here? I mean, what set him off?

Johnny: Dad fired him over the thing at the Metro Court.

Claudia: That was days ago. Why would he come after you now?

Johnny: Who knows? The guy never liked me. He's nuts and he flipped out. I defended myself.

Lulu: No, it was not like that at all.

Maxie: Logan showed up at the Crimson offices and he was telling Lulu how they needed to get back together and she told him she only wanted to be with Johnny. That really set him off.

Lulu: This is all my fault.

Claudia: Ok, so he came straight over here and attacked you.

Maxie: He must have.

Lulu: No, listen to me.

Johnny: I want Lulu out of here.

Lulu: I was never really honest with Logan. I was leading him on for months. I should have told him that I was with you and broken up with him completely when I first met you.

Claudia: Ok, Johnny, you killed Logan because of Lulu.

Johnny: There's no way you're taking the blame for this.

Lulu: It was my fault. I was trying to let him down easy and, instead, I was giving him false hope. I yelled at him in Kate's office. It's -- it's no wonder that he flipped out.

Maxie: Listen to me, ok? I was there, too. Remember? All you did was tell Logan the truth. This fight was between Johnny and Logan. It had nothing to do with you.

Johnny: I'd just gotten back from visiting dad, ok? I heard some pounding at the door, yelling. So I came out here to check it out. Logan broke down the door. He came after with -- with that. And I grabbed the knife and stabbed him. For the last time, I defended myself.

Claudia: When did you guys get here?

Maxie: A couple minutes before you did. Lulu was really worried after Logan showed up at the office and she wanted to see Johnny. Never mind all the work we had to do. I had to get some notes from her, so I decided to tag along. And when we showed up here, Logan was already dead.

Claudia: Well, who covered up the body?

Maxie: I did. It really creep me out just to look at him. Johnny was just telling both of us what happened when -- when you got here.

Claudia: Isn't your father the police commissioner?

Maxie: Yes.

Claudia: Ok, so why didn't y call the cops?

Maxie: I really don't want Mac or the police knowing I was involved.

Johnny: No one's ever going to know.

Claudia: That's right. There's no witnesses. There's no evidence. And there will be no blackmail, right?

Maxie: Hey, we just want this to go away, right?

Lulu: Yes, more than anything.

Johnny: Claudia and I'll take it from here. Lulu: I'm not leaving.

Claudia: Why not?

Lulu: This isn't right.

Maxie: Now is not the time to stand by your man.

Johnny: Lulu, I'm sorry that you got involved in all this. But don't worry. I promise I'm going to make it right.

Maxie: Come on.

Johnny: Go on.

Claudia: I told you that girl's trouble.

Robin: I'm sorry. I'm being so selfish. I mean, here I am with Patrick, who's tripping all over himself to be wonderful. And here you are, loving Jason, who's life is so dangerous that we shouldn't even be talking to each other outside of Kelly's.

Elizabeth: I'm sure things will get easier. But, in the meantime, it really hurts to miss him like I do.

Robin: I know. I had to move to Paris and start a new career to get over him. So I understand. Believe me.

Elizabeth: At least things are settled for me. You know, Jason and I chose not to be together for an excellent reason. But you, your situation is a little more nebulous.

Robin: I hate nebulous.

Elizabeth: I know. That's how it was when Lucky and I were splitting up. Everything kept changing. So I couldn't just make an adjustment and move on.

Robin: Well, I could, you know, if Patrick would just cooperate. Really, why isn't it enough that I will just let him be a part of this child's life?

Elizabeth: But only on your terms.

Robin: It's not fair to put my child in a situation that could eventually fall apart.

Elizabeth: Ok, I know I sound like one more person trying to tell you what to do -

Robin: Oh, please, go ahead. Patrick says that I never listen to anyone anyway.

Elizabeth: He really seems to love you, and he's trying to change.

Robin: Yes, he is for now.

Elizabeth: Now is all we have, Robin. You know that better than anyone.

Robin: That's the point. You know, I promised myself a long time ago that I would make every single day count. So how can I put myself in a situation that I know isn't going to work out?

Elizabeth: Has Patrick ever lied to you?

Robin: No. In fact, he's brutally honest.

Elizabeth: Then why not take him at his word? Why not let yourself believe that he actually wants to be a father. Can you at least consider the possibility that things might work out?

Sonny: I'm just -- I'm just messing with you. It's no big deal.

Kate: You can't even imagine what that flight home was like. I broke the sound barrier driving here from the airport.

Sonny: Ok, then I'm going to get some champagne and we're going to celebrate.

Kate: No, I can't. I have to do damage control.

Sonny: There's no damage control. We're fine.

Kate: I'm about to launch "Crimson." I can't afford to have my image plastered all over the internet having limo sex with my primary investor who happens to be married.

Sonny: Your face, actually, if you turn it like this, you look good in that picture.

Kate: How did you get that picture anyway?

Jason: What are you doing here?

Carly: I'm giving Jax time to feel guilty about kissing Kate.

Jason: Ok, what -- what happened -- what happened with the picture?

Carly: Jax expects me to believe that Kate was on her knees in front of him, in the back of a limo, trying to find her engagement ring she lost. Totally lame excuse.

Jason: So you don't believe him.

Carly: I believe him. That's not the problem. Jax kissing Kate in his own free will is the problem. And he didn't expect me to find out. And now that I have, he's trying to tell me it's all my fault.

Jason: How?

Carly: Because he felt hurt and shut out or something, no excuse at all.

Jason: That was the night you and Sonny took Michael to the institute.

Carly: So?

Jason: So that -- that was the night you and Sonny had sex.

Carly: That doesn't count. Sonny was a go-back, like a re-do.

Jason: Are you serious?

Carly: Sonny and I were in an emotional place and we fell onto something familiar. It was wrong, but nothing we haven't done before. Jax kissed Kate for the first time, which means he totally meant it, which means he was totally unfaithful.

Noah: Hey.

Robin: Noah. Where have you been? Why haven't you called?

Patrick: You know how he likes to just show up.

Noah: It's been way too long.

Robin: It's good to see you.

Noah: You look fantastic.

[Laughing]

Anna: Doesn't she look great?

Noah: Congratulations, beautiful.

Robin: Thank you.

Patrick: Yeah, he's so excited, he's going to testify for you in court tomorrow.

Robin: You're going to testify against Patrick?

Noah: Well, your mother's testifying against you.

Anna: Why don't we all just sit down? We can have a nice civilized martini and then -- I -- I can make some tea. I can make some tea.

Patrick: I'm not going to change my mind, if that's what you're thinking.

Noah: You know what? I -- I'm absolutely fine with testifying that you're going to be a rotten father.

Robin: No offense, but don't you think "rotten" is a little harsh?

Claudia: You think that your little blonde friends are going to be able to keep their mouths shut?

Johnny: Yeah.

Claudia: All right. Well, we need to get rid of that body.

Johnny: I'll call our people.

Claudia: No, this -- no, this -- daddy can't find out about this, neither can Ric or Trevor. It's going to stay between you and me, ok?

Johnny: Ok, so we drive north a couple of miles and dump his body in the harbor.

Claudia: Johnny, think. That screams "mob." That's the last thing we want here. You're already going to be a suspect. We got to find a way to make this look like somebody else could've been involved.

Johnny: So what do you suggest?

Claudia: Well, we got to dump the body someplace that has no connection to our family, someplace that nobody would ever suspect you. You know, you -- you'd be the last person that they would suspect, you know?

Nikolas: [Sighs] [Chuckles]

Nadine: Hey.

Nikolas: You came back. What for? It's late.

Nadine: Yeah, I was winding down after my shift and I drove by and saw the light was still on. Has it been like this all night?

Nikolas: Well, nothing clears out a waiting room like a patient collapsing. I just sent the staff home.

Nadine: Well, she's doing a lot better, by the way, now that she's on real antibiotics. I checked in on her before I left.

Nikolas: Good. Thank you.

Nadine: Dr. Hunter told me about the placebos.

Nikolas: Yeah, it's so frustrating. I'm back-tracking our records for the third time now. But, on paper, everything looks perfect. What's the point of a free clinic if people are afraid to come in?

Nadine: The patients will be back. Don't worry.

Nikolas: [Laughs] Nadine: There's a real need for this place.

Nikolas: Not if we're making them sicker than they were before. The mayor, he's just looking for a reason to shut us down.

Nadine: You know, you keep slamming papers around, I'm going to have to start quoting Aunt Rayleen.

Nikolas: [Laughs] Ok.

Nadine: I -- I know things didn't go the way you want. We'll figure something out. You obviously didn't mean to make people sicker. So we'll find out what's wrong and make it right. I promise.

Nikolas: Ok. Thank you for believing in this project.

Nadine: Just doing my job.

Nikolas: Listen, do you mind going over these and see if I missed anything?

Nadine: I'd be happy to.

Spinelli: Greetings, benevolent father of Mr. Sir.

Mike: Hey, Spinelli. What can I get you?

Spinelli: The usual, which I will enjoy here. Oh -- and actually, could I have an extra large bag this time? Oh, and the -- and the usual take-out repast for Stone Cold.

Mike: You know, don't -- don't you think it's about time that you -- extra large -- that you start eating some real food? I mean, I heard you were sick.

Spinelli: Well, I -- yes, I've recovered, though, for the most part.

Mike: Yeah, well, just the same, I'm putting in some vegetable soup, all right?

Spinelli: Grateful thanks, but the Jackal shuns most vegetables.

Mike: Look, how can you be so smart and expect to keep living on chips and -- and orange soda?

Spinelli: The Jackal's dietary habits aside, does the benevolent father of Mr. Sir approve of his upcoming nuptials to the Fashionista's?

Mike: Are you asking do I want Sonny to marry Kate?

Spinelli: Well, I -

Mike: I stay out of my son's private life.

Spinelli: Ok. Well, do you think he's mellowed in recent months?

Mike: Why? Did something happen?

Spinelli: Just should certain problematic information of a digital or otherwise representational nature appear in a -- in a public and increasingly accessible media, do you think he would take drastic -- you know, drastic physical action against the bearer of said information or the -- the hardware thereof?

Maxie: Sorry, Spinelli, but I need this more than you do.

[Maxie grabs can of orange soda and shakes it]

Spinelli: Oh, certainly. Anything I have is yours.

Lulu: You can't just run out of the office.

Maxie: Why not? You do it all the time.

Spinelli: Perhaps some deep cleansing breaths are in order?

Maxie: I am so sick of you attitude and your snarky whiny comments.

Lulu: Yeah? Well, we all know the truth hurts.

Maxie: Back off, Lulu, or you'll be wearing this soda.
