Wednesday July 9, Part- 2

Spinelli: Um, if Maximista would reconsider -

Maxie: Are you going to back off?

Lulu: Come on, skank, I dare you.

Spinelli: Ok, if the blonde ones would just consider a more civil tone.

Maxie: I am so sick and tired of doing your job.

Lulu: Ok, just give me an excuse to scratch your eyes out.

Mike: All right, keep it down, or take it outside.

Maxie: Of course you're going to take Lulu's side, everyone always does.

Lulu: Because nobody can stand you.

Mike: Hey, hey, that's enough, Lulu.

Spinelli: Ok, and actually in the interest of accuracy.

Lulu: You know what, just tell her that she's a waste of oxygen.

Maxie: Why don't you get Spinelli to do your dirty work?

Spinelli: Could we just calm down?

Maxie: No, you know what, I can't calm down, I have to deal with this brat every single day and I'm sick of it.

Maxie: Then why did you follow me here?

Lulu: Because there's no way you're going to leave me with all that work.

Maxie: No, you're just upset because Kate made us stay late.

Lulu: No, you're just trying to start a fight so that we have to stay even later.

Maxie: Fine, then I will go back to the office and do all the work and cover for you for Kate like I normally do.

Lulu: No, no, no, there's no way you're going to make me look bad.

Maxie: Oh, believe me, I don't have to try. Excuse me -- uh.

Lulu: Um, hey -- you know what, you don't get to walk away from me.

Spinelli: Perhaps I should follow to mediate?

Mike: Uh, a word to the wise, when you're dealing with two angry blondes, just kick back and enjoy your soda.

Spinelli: I shall try.

Mike: Spinelli, wait.

[Spinelli opens soda]

Spinelli: [Whining]

Patrick: Wow, you don't think I'm rotten, that's progress. Any chance you're going to start being reasonable?

Noah: Why would any reasonable woman want you to be the father of her child? You've probably nailed half the nurses in the hospital. When you're not in the O.R., You're risking your life at a race track or throwing your money away in some strip joint.

Patrick: Noah, you haven't been here for months.

Noah: I don't need to be. You know, if it's not your work, it's another woman -

Patrick: If you're talking about taking my talent serious, yes, or being the best surgeon possible. That's more than I can say about you.

Noah: You'll never make family a priority.

Patrick: Why, because you didn't?

Noah: Yeah -- yeah I was a terrible role model, you're following in my footsteps.

Patrick: By wanting to raise my own kid? Yeah, that makes a lot of sense.

Noah: No, by dragging your pregnant girlfriend into court.

Anna: You know what, most men in Patrick's position would be going to court to figure out a way to get out of being a father, not asking for visitation.

Noah: Why are you defending him against your own daughter?

Anna: Because they love each other. And Robin is only pushing him away because of her messed up childhood, and I feel responsible for that. I want to stop her from making a huge mistake.

Noah: Well, I think you're setting her up to make a huge mistake. I was there for Patrick's birth, I was there through the whole thing. I was a terrible father.

Anna: I think you still are, quite frankly.

Noah: Exactly, my -- my point exactly. I'm his role model.

Robin: Would you stop? Please.

Anna: Yes, yes, please let's just stop. I don't want to upset Robin.

Patrick: If you keep talking you're going to end up on the floor, trust me.

Anna: No, I know I'm too aggressive.

Robin: This isn't about you, mom. And it's not about you, Noah. This is not about mistakes you made as parents, this is about Patrick and myself and about how we want to raise our child.

Jason: If you had sex with Sonny while you were married to Jax, that's cheating.

Carly: Well, yeah, if you want to get technical. But Jax and Kate kissing is far worse.

Jason: How?

Carly: I told you, Jax kissing Kate is a new thing, that's messing with our future. But Sonny, you know, we just happened sometimes, Jason.

Jason: Happened? So you didn't mean to have sex with him?

Carly: We had just went through the worst night of our lives. I mean, we regretted it two seconds after it was over, but that's just who we are. It doesn't mean we're getting back together. But Jax and Kate kissing -- she's after him, he knows it, and he kept the whole thing a secret.

Jason: Oh, ok, so did you tell Jax that you slept with Sonny?

Carly: No, I did not. If Jax finds out that I slept with Sonny, it will break his heart. My marriage will be over. I will be miserable, Morgan will be miserable, and worst of all, Jax will be miserable. Because he loves me and I love him.

Jason: Ok, so what -- what are you doing here?

Carly: I want Jax to think about what happened, you know. I want him to feel alone in that house a little bit, I want him to wonder where I am. So the next time Kate calls and wants him to go on some business trip, he'll think twice. Jason: You are giving me such a headache, Carly.

Carly: No, when you think about it, I'm doing all this for Jax's own good.

Kate: No, no, keep it simple. Just tell them I was retrieving a piece of jewelry. No, do not tell them it was an engagement ring, let's let them wonder. Well, Jax and I are business associates. Let's just leave it at that and see what happens. Thank you. So, now it's just all a matter of spin control.

Sonny: Well, you're good at that, right?

Kate: Yeah, well, as long as Carly doesn't send out a press release of her own and make matters worse.

Sonny: She's married to Jax, I mean, she has a right to be upset.

Kate: Well, yes, with Jax, certainly. But she didn't have to dash over here and give you that picture.

Sonny: She wanted me to fight with you.

Kate: I know, she's so determined to break us up.

Sonny: Well, let's not let her. Do your damage control, right? I'll open up a bottle of wine and we'll celebrate.

Kate: All right.

Sonny: All right?

Kate: But I still need to be honest with myself, Sonny, it's only a matter of time before Carly starts throwing herself at you.

Robin: I love you. I mean, the last thing I want to do is dredge up old pains with you and your dad?

Patrick: See, Robin, that's what I don't understand. You say you love me, but you don't believe me that I love you or that I want to try and be a good father.

Anna: Can I -- can I interject here?

Robin: No, mom, actually you can't. This is what I was trying to say, this is not about you and dad being spies or not being around. I'm not blaming how I feel on anyone.

Noah: Well you hear that Patrick?

Patrick: I'm not blaming you for anything, either. But the truth is I'm a better surgeon and I'm a better father than you'll ever be.

Noah: So this is all about -- about competition with me?

Patrick: It's not.

Robin: You know, this isn't fair. Really, you haven't said a kind word to Patrick since I walked in the door.

Anna: All right, now I really do need to inject, I need a little clarification. You two love each other. You have defended him at every turn, and you both want to be parents. So you need to remind me again, why are we going to court tomorrow?

Robin: Because I know what makes him happy.

Patrick: You make me happy. Why can't you believe that?

Robin: You want to be the top surgeon, you want the excitement of saving lives. You don't want to nest or stay home with a baby. I mean, that's what you described as your nightmare life practically since the day met you.

Patrick: I know, I've said a lot of things since then.

Robin: I know that, and I'm sure you want them to be true. And I honestly believe that you think you want to be a father as of now. But this baby was my idea to begin with, and I'm willing to make that commitment and give it all the time and patience and concentration it takes to be a good parent. That's not anything that you signed up for.

Patrick: I've been trying to sign up for a while now.

Robin: I know that, and you're a wonderful man, and I love you for trying to do the right thing, but I don't want you to and I don't need you to. So that's exactly what I'm going to tell the judge tomorrow.

Nadine: Nikolas, did you hear that?

Nikolas: Hear what?

Nadine: Oh, uh, never mind, I got it.

Nadine: Oh, my god.

Nadine: Nikolas! Call 911.

Nikolas: What? What is it?

Nadine: He's dead.

Maxie: It's a good thing Mac's working tonight, it gives us the chance to get our story straight.

Lulu: Why are you doing this? And I can't even believe we had to stage that stupid fight at Kelly's.

Maxie: Well, we have to give you an alibi. When the coroner estimates a time of death, there's at least an hour on each side, so if we're seen having a very public fight at Kelly's around the time Logan died, it will take us off the suspect list, or at least move us down to the bottom.

Lulu: I know that you hate me. Why are you doing this?

Jax: I was just about to go out looking for you.

Carly: I went down to the pier for a while.

Jax: At this hour?

Carly: I can't believe you kissed Kate. I can't believe that you kissed another woman.

Jax: God, Carly, I am committed to our marriage.

Carly: Which only means that Kate must mean something to you because you would never casually cheat on me, and you did.

Jax: No, I would never cheat on you at all.

Carly: How am I supposed to believe that now?

Jax: Look, I am sorry that I hurt you. It was foolish, but there's nothing going on between me and Kate and there never will be because I love you.

Kate: Yes, Giselle, "Crimson" is still on track, why wouldn't it be? Do you know how much misinformation there is on the internet? Yes, Jax is still my primary investor. Giselle, if you want to know about Jax's marriage, you're just going to have to ask him yourself, because I have no idea.

[Sighs]

Sonny: Putting out fires, I know what that's like.

Kate: Yeah, well, I've got two of them out for me, and I don't know which one is worse, Giselle or Carly. You know, giving you that photo was really unnecessary.

Sonny: Why do you bring it up? I mean, Car -- you let her get to you.

Kate: I just don't understand your dynamic with Carly, Sonny.

Sonny: Hey, listen to me. I'm not marrying Carly, right? I'm marrying you.

Kate: I know. But if you ever cheat on me with Carly, you know we're through, right?

Carly: Every time we fight about Kate, you tell me you love me. But you kissed her, and you kept it from me and you acted like I was paranoid for not trusting Kate.

Jax: No, because you had too much going on already, and I didn't want to upset you.

Carly: What else aren't you telling me?

Jax: Nothing ---

Carly: Tell me everything.

Jax: I'm not -- nothing, ok. You shouldn't be feeling -- you shouldn't feel threatened by Kate at all.

Carly: Ok, I keep trying to look at this from your side, all right? If she is such a good friend of yours, why does she keep pushing the limits of our marriage? Like this party. Why couldn't she have taken someone else, why couldn't she have taken Sonny? No, it had to be you. Why does Kate keep doing things that she knows will upset me? Like the photo shoot, or showing up to our home. Why?

Jax: I'm sure it isn't deliberate.

Carly: Ah, just like I'm sure she doesn't talk down about me in front of you, huh? Right.

Jax: Carly, come on, I've invested a lot of money into "Crimson." If I pull out now, the magazine goes broke and I lose my investment.

Carly: You're a brilliant businessman, you can make that money up on another deal and you know it.

Jax: And if I wait until after the launch, I can sell it for a profit.

Carly: What if the magazine isn't a success, what then?

Jax: Well, I'm going to make sure that it is a success.

Carly: At any cost.

Jax: Look, I promise you that there's not going to be any more parties with Kate, no more private jet rides. And if you don't want me to leave town from now on, I won't.

Carly: Unless it's for business, right, Jax?

Jax: Come on, I don't know what else I can say. I love you. I love you, and I'm committed to this marriage. I really am.

[Carly kisses him]

Jax: I'm sorry.

Carly: I love you so much.

Jason: What happened?

Spinelli: Would that I had your talent to sooth the savage blonde heart.

Jason: Well, I see you went to Kelly's.

Spinelli: A most ill-fated choice.

Jason: Well, you know what, I could have done that for you, I'm the one who is supposed to be helping you. Where did you get -- what happened? What did you get all over yourself?

Spinelli: Orange soda, nectar of the unchosen, the powerless, the wimp.

Jason: What kind of soup is that?

Spinelli: Vegetable, the benevolent father of Mr. Sir is concerned about my eating habits.

Jason: Well, you probably should eat some.

Spinelli: How do you do it? How do you soothe the Valkyrie when she is flying off the rails, when she's at the precipice with no brakes, how do you calm her down?

Jason: Uh, I can't always.

Spinelli: Well, you are successful more than not. I mean, I need to learn your technique. Because the Jackal just witnessed a most unfortunate altercation between the blonde one and Maximista. They fought bitterly in public at Kelly's. The Fashionista's would be horrified, I am afraid that they'll both be fired, and that would break Maximista's heart.

Jason: What were they fighting about?

Spinelli: Nothing -- everything. Orange soda was involved. If I'd only known what to say, you know?

Lulu: What am I doing here?

Maxie: I was terrified when Logan attacked me. I would never wish that on anyone, Lulu, not even you.

Lulu: I thought you were dead.

Maxie: If I had a weapon, I probably would have killed Logan myself. I was desperate. And if he hadn't looked up and seen that you were watching, he probably would have raped me or worse. So you saved me.

Lulu: Mm-mm. No I should have, um -- I panicked, I should have left the floor and gone to another floor, gone down the stairwell, gone outside, called 911.

Maxie: I could have handled things differently, too, but it's hard to think rationally when a crazy person is after you.

Lulu: I knew that Logan was messed up but I just can't believe that he would do something like that.

Maxie: No one would.

Lulu: He loved me, and he was so desperate for me to love him back. And I killed him.

Lucky: Did you see anything?

Nikolas: No, I was in the -- I was in the back here and she yelled out and said she heard something.

Nadine: Um, yeah, it sounded like a thump, like someone dropped something. I went outside and he was just lying on the ground.

Nikolas: And then I called 911.

Harper: So you saw the body first?

Nadine: Yeah, I checked his pulse. It was obvious he'd been dead for a while.

Harper: Did you see anything else, anyone running, driving away?

Nadine: Yeah, um, a car pulled out really fast. It turned left at the end of the block.

Lucky: What kind of car?

Nadine: Dark sedan, I think. I saw the first three letters of the license plate, it was ATJ.

[Johnny removes plates]

Claudia: Even if that nurse saw the car, there's no way to trace this plate.
