Friday July 11 Part-1

Spinelli: How can you be so certain that Stone Cold did not, in fact, commit the debatably heinous crime of murdering the simian one?

Maxie: The guy's a professional hit man. He wouldn't leave evidence lying around that the police could get a hold of.

Spinelli: That was not precisely the opinion that you previously expressed.

Maxie: It's the opinion I'm expressing now.

Spinelli: I'm sorry. Forgive me for pressing the issue, but, I mean, you spoke with Stone Cold's innocence with such conviction. Do you, by any chance, have any information to back that up?

Maxie: Uh --

Sonny: I need to see Jason.

Maxie: He's not here.

Sonny: Yeah, I kind of figured that out. Where is he?

Spinelli: It is my sad duty to inform Mr. Sir that Stone Cold has been detained by offics of the law.

Harper: Turn to the side. Now, take your time. Do any of these men resemble the driver of the car that pulled away after Logan Hayes' body was dumped?

Carly: You need to stop this right now. There's no way in hell I'm going to let you railroad Jason.

Anthony: Framing Jason Morgan for Logan's murder gets Johnny off the hook and removes Jason as a business rival.

Claudia: It won't be nearly that easy or that simple.

Anthony: All you got to do is go to the cops and tell them you saw Morgan kill Logan.

Claudia: No. Forget it.

Anthony: Then you're selling your brother down the river.

[Knock on door]

Mac: Police. Open up or we'll be back with a warrant.

Lulu: They think that you killed Logan.

Johnny: It's fine. Look, I knew they'd be here eventually. Don't panic.

Lulu: No, I should just tell them that I did it. I'm the one who killed him.

Johnny: No, stay quiet and don't volunteer anything. There's no proof that Logan was here, ok?

Lucky: Lulu, what are you doing here?

Alexis: Hey! Hello, di-di. What are you doing here? I didn't expect to see you. I would've assumed you would've requested a continuance.

Diane: Yes, which is why you had Jason Morgan arrested this morning for a crime he did not commit. Did you nestly think I would be so easily distracted from providing another client due diligence?

Alexis: Oh, now, now. You're wasting a perfectly good defense. This is not a murder trial. This is just a simple hearing and a family court procedure.

Diane: And this is classic Alexis Davis. Lull the opposing counsel into a sense of complacency and then go for the jugular once we get before the judge. I would advise you to change your tactics because I fully intend to get my client everything he's asking for.

Alexis: Visitation with a baby in a womb?

Diane: I am going to produce testimony and affidavits to the effect that Dr. Scorpio is blatantly baring my client from visiting --

Robin: Excuse me. Is this what it's going to be like in court?

Diane: Yes.

Sonny: Why was Jason arrested?

Spinelli: There is no cause for alarm. Stone Cold did not perpetrate the acts for which he is being unfairly charged, and he is most ably defended by the brusque lady of justice.

Sonny: Ok, whoa. Can you, seriously, just talk like a human being.

Maxie: He's babbling because he's afraid of you, which makes sense, since you rammed his head into a wall.

Sonny: Maxie, what happened to son?

Maxie: He was arrested for Logan Hayes' murder.

Sonny: Ok. You need to -- I need to speak to him alone. Just leave.

Maxie: Whatever you have to say to Spinelli, you can say to me, besides, it seems like you need a translator.

Sonny: What kind of case do they have on Jason, Spinelli?

Maxie: If you're asking if Jason did it --

Spinelli: No, um, with all due respect --

Sonny: Yeah.

Spinelli: Mr. Sir is now officially retired, and he can no longer be privy to the inner workings of Stone Cold's organization.

Sonny: Are you saying you don't trust me?

Harper: Who let you into the lineup room?

Carly: I know the way. And you should be thanking me for stopping that violation of Jason's rights. You could lose your badge for something like that.

Harper: Line-ups are standard procedure.

Carly: Nadine met Jason at the black and white ball, so of course, she's going to recognize him. There you go. Another innocent man wrongly accused.

Nadine: If I could say something -- harp: You're interfering in a murder investigation.

Carly: Oh, whatever. Call it what it is. It's a frame-up.

Nadine: Hey! I think I can settle this.

Carly: Jason didn't do it. He was with me most of the night.

Nadine: All I saw was a car pull away and turn the corner and maybe a glimpse of the driver. The only thing I know for sure was that it was a dark colored sedan.

Carly: There you go. Another reason I know Jason didn't do it because he drives an SUV or a motorcycle.

Harper: What are you even doing here?

Carly: I got a call from one of your fine officers asking me to come down here and validate Jason's alibi, which I am more than happy to do. Since now you know Jason's innocent, you can go fill out the paperwork and have him released.

Carly: We're getting you out of here.

Jason: Ok. I need to know what you just told the cops.

Carly: Don't worry. I covered for you.

Claudia: You know I would do anything to protect John.

Anthony: No, I know you keep saying that. This is your chance to do more than talk. Use your skills as a liar for a good reason. Go to the cops and just tell them that you saw Jason kill that worm Logan.

Claudia: What part of "that would be a crucial mistake" did you not hear the first time?

Anthony: Claudia, I know a hell of a lot better how to handle the cops than you do. They'll buy that Morgan is guilty because they want him.

Claudia: Not if they have evidence that somebody else was involved.

Anthony: You're getting attached to Morgan, aren't you? Admit it. Yeah, you didn't kill him when he was lying helpless with fever.

Claudia: Jason wasn't helpless, daddy. Fever or no fever, ok? And if he's got an alibi, well then the cops will know I lied and suspicion will boomerang right back to us. The best thing we can do is just stay put of it.

Anthony: You're in it up to your neck.

Claudia: Daddy, I told you, I don't know anything.

Anthony: Stop stonewalling! Johnny is guilty, and if you're trying to cover it up, you've already failed. You have to tell me everything fast. Otherwise, Johnny will wind up spending his life in jail.

Claudia: You're just pulling this stuff out of thin air.

Anthony: Oh, you think you can handle this. What, like you handled that hit on Sonny? You're a screw-up, Claudia. You're too emotional. You make decisions too fast, and when you do that, things go wrong. I know you must think I'm a heartless bastard, but I'll do anything to protect John. So what are you doing protect him? Are you sure that you didn't leave a single shred of evidence, some tiny detail that might have fallen through the cracks? Are you sure, because if you did, the cops will find it, and Johnny will pay for your incompetence with his life.

Claudia: You're right. Johnny killed Logan.

Johnny: Lulu doesn't need an excuse to be here, but you fellows do.

Mac: This is a police matter. We need to ask you a few questions.

Lulu: Ask away.

Lucky: The questions are for Johnny, not for you.

Lulu: Well, they're about Logan's murder, right?

Lucky: How do you know about the killing?

Lulu: Mac told me this morning, and I told Johnny.

Mac: Where were you last night between 8:00 and 11:00 P.M.?

Lulu: This is not fair. I'm sorry. You shouldn't even be asking him these questions.

Lucky: First off, don't be difficult here, Lulu.

Lulu: This is not right.

Lucky: Why don't we go grab some coffee and let the commissioner do his job.

Lulu: I don't want any coffee. I just think that you guys don't -

Johnny: It's ok. I'll take care of this. And then we'll spend the rest of the day together, all right it's
ok. Come here.

Lulu: Ok, ok, ok.

Mac: That was a pretty intense good-bye for just a few questions.

Johnny: Well, we were planning on spending the day together alone.

Mac: Well, the sooner you answer the questions, the sooner this will be over. Where were you last night when Logan Hayes was murdered?

Johnny: I'm not saying a damn word without my attorney.

Jason: Carly, you didn't have to come down here.

Carly: Of course I did. Thank God you listed me as an alibi.

Jason: No, no. Diane listed you.

Carly: Whatever. I am more than happy to testify for you.

Jason: It's not going to be necessary. I didn't kill Logan Hayes.

Carly: Ok. Well, the police think you did, so you need my help.

Jason: Carly, I didn't kill him. They have no evidence.

Carly: Don't count on it.

Jason: They're going to have to let me go.

Carly: They were trying to get a witness to pick you out of a line-up when she barely ev saw the driver.

Nadine: I'll let you know if anything comes back to me.

Harper: We may have an alternate suspect soon. If so, we'll have you come in for another lineup.

Claudia: When I got there, Logan was already dead, on the floor with a sheet over him.

Anthony: Johnny should've never let the damn monkey into the apartment in the first place.

Claudia: Logan broke the door down with an axe. So John stabbed him in self defense. And when I got there, he and Lulu and Maxie were trying to figure out what to do next.

Anthony: Wait a minute. Who's this other one?

Claudia: Maxie Jones. She works with Lulu at Kate Howard's magazine.

Anthony: What the hell was she doing there?

Claudia: I guess, um, she came with Lulu to get some work done and found that Johnny had killed Logan.

Anthony: But the girlies never actually witnessed Johnny stabbing Logan?

Claudia: No, but they heard him tell me that he did it. Dad, you better not even think about doing anything to either of those girls. Because if anything happens to Lulu, John will know you did it. And he'll turn himself in and confess, just to get back at you.

Anthony: What guarantee do I have that these two will keep their mouths shut?

Spinelli: Mr. Sir turned the keys to the kingdom over to Stone Cold and made it clear that he no longer wishes to partake in the business, which would include --

Sonny: Last chance. What kind of case do they have on Jason, Spinelli?

Spinelli: My sincerest apologies, but I cannot divulge that privileged information.

Sonny: You know what? I'm just trying to help, but if Jason's going to have idiots like you working for him, you know what? I guess he gets what he deserves.

Maxie: Oh, Spinelli, don't let him get to you.

Spinelli: The Jackal will do his best to follow Maximista's sage advice, but you know what? In order to prove himself truly worthy, it is most urgent that he uncover the identity of the crabby commando's murderer, so -- oh, right.

Diane: You should know that I am going to present the strongest possible argument that my client be allowed visitation with his child.

Alexis: Unborn child. Which is an impossible situation.

Diane: In the course of which an unflattering light is going to be cast on you, your actions, motives.

Patrick: How unflattering?

Alexis: Very unflattering. You have no idea. She's going to rake her over the coals. And she's
going to paint her as this possessive, paranoid, self-righteous man-hater.

Diane: Opposing counsel exaggerates. But not by much.

Alexis: And since I have been faced with the same kind of allegations, I will defend you, but you should know that I'm going to have to put Patrick in a spotlight that is not quite so --

Robin: I don't want this to get ugly.

Diane: Rest assured, I have no intention of taking an emotional chainsaw to the defense.

Alexis: Yes, she does, but I won't allow it.

Diane: As gratifying as it would be, I am not here to chalk up a win against you.

Alexis: Did you ever win against me?

Diane: In my head. But I am going to have to bring to light some of Dr. Scorpio's issues with the person who knows her best. Her mother.

Patrick: Yeah, that's not going to happen.

Anna: Hi, darling, everyone, Patrick. I'm glad you're all here because, uh, I've decided that, after careful consideration, um, I won't be able to testify at all.

Kate: Thank God you agreed to start this week, Clarice. I desperately need you.

Clarice: Ok, what can I do first?

Kate: Ok, first you're going to need to deal with Giselle, all right? She's livid that I managed to steal you away to be "Crimson's" new accessories editor, and she's fully capable of retaliating. Oh, hi. Hi, Jax. Do you remember Clarice, my former and extremely capable assistant?

Jax: Of course. Nice to have you with us, Clarice. Kate tells me you're an excellent accessories editor.

Clarice: I appreciate this chance. And I have some ideas about promoting new degners.

Kate: Yes, but first, I was actually explaining to her that Giselle is extremely put out that we managed to steal her away from "couture." And since Giselle has never met a scandal she couldn't exploit, we really need to prepare for -

Reporter: Mr. Jacks.

Jax: Hold on a second. You guys can't be in here.

Reporter: Mr. Jacks, is it true that your fling with Ms. Howard has put your marriage on the ropes?

Jax: No, my marriage is fine. Thank you.

Reporter: Rumor has it that you and your last publisher Warren James had a rendezvous in the back room of a mid-town restaurant.

Kate: That is a blatant lie.

Second reporter: What about you and Mr. Jacks in that limousine?

Jax: Ok.

Kate: That photo is extremely misleading.

Jax: Yes, it is. Kate was looking for a piece of jewelry.

Kate: I was looking for my engagement ring, as a matter of fact.

Reporter: What engagement?

Kate: No, I am planning to marry Sonny Corinthos.

Second reporter: Mr. Corinthos, how does it feel to have your bride sleeping with her business partner Mr. Jacks?

Carly: You know what? It's insulting, not to mention absolutely ridiculous. You could never be sloppy enough to dump Logan's body at the door of a clinic.

Jason: It's ok. I'm fine. You can go.

Carly: I can't go. I have to lay low until Kate gets her comeuppance

Jason: What did you do?

Carly: I gave a couple of reporters access to the "Crimson" office, so they can grill Kate about the picture of her and Jax. And I may have leaked a rumor that Kate may have had an affair with her old publisher, warren james.

Jason: Why would you do that?

Jason: Because I want to publicly humiliate Kate Howard.

Jason: How is humiliating Kate going to make your life any better?

Mayor Floyd: Where's commissioner scorpio?

Harper: Out questioning a suspect.

Mayor Floyd: He hasn't returned any of my calls.

Harper: Oh, he's been busy, sir.

Mayor Floyd: Is that the case file?

Harper: Yeah. Yes, it is.

Mayor Floyd: Thank you. Do you know if he has heard from Scott Baldwin at all?

Mac: No, I haven't

Mayor Floyd: The man's son was brutally murdered. He has to be told.

Mac: Scott is sailing in the Caribbean with his daughter Serena. We left messages for him to call in. But I'm not going to tell him from ship-to-shore radio that his son is dead.

Mayor Floyd: Do you have any idea when Scott is supposed to be back?

Mac: His assistant said Thursday, the 24th. But he is sailing. I mean, the weather is always a factor, it could be longer.

Mayor Floyd: Let's assume it won't be. By the time Scott Baldwin gets back to Port Charles, I want his son's killer in custody. And please don't tell me it's Jason Morgan. The man is near impossible to convict.

Mac: Jason Morgan didn't kill Logan Hayes. I think I know who did. We're asking the judge for a warrant.

Claudia: Maxie is a quick thinker. She grabbed Lulu and took her over to Kelly's and they staged a fake argument, so they both have an alibi. Meanwhile, John and I grabbed Logan and put him in the trunk of my car.

Anthony: And left DNA all over the place.

Claudia: Logan was wrapped in a sheet.

Anthony: So what? He probably has carpet fibers on him or splinters from the door that was smashed or hair -- yours and John's. But hey, why sweat the small stuff? You were probably seen on security cameras all over the building.

Claudia: I took care of the cameras, daddy. And I switched out the license plate on my car. There's nothing that directly ties Johnny to this thing.

Anthony: Except the bloody carpet.

Claudia: Which is being incinerated as we speak, and a new one is being put in.

Anthony: What if it's not enough?

Claudia: It's handled, daddy. Trust me.

Anthony: You should have called me. I know how to cover things like this up. If Johnny winds up in prison, he's going to have you to thank.

Mike: Ok, guys, latte and a good old-fashioned black java.

Lucky: Thanks, Mike.

Mike: Sure. Hey, did you get things straightened out with Maxie last night?

Lulu: Yeah.

Lucky: What happened?

Lulu: Same old -- Maxie and I had a stupid fight that started at the magazine and ended up here.

Mike: Yeah, with threats of orange soda being thrown around.

Lucky: And what were you fighting about?

Lulu: Lucky, I don't need babysitting. You've already got me away from Johnny so Mac could question him so you can go back to work.

Lucky: Listen, I am worried about you.

Lulu: I am fine.

Lucky: I don't think you are. You cared for Logan once, and now he's been murdered.

Lulu: Can we just not talk about this?

Lucky: No, we have to. I think there's something that you're not telling me, Lulu. Now, what is it?

Sonny: I'm proud to be marrying Kate Howard. And that's all I've got to say about that.

Reporter: Mr. Jacks, you got anything you want to add?

Jax: I can tell you gentlemen, you're on private property. I'll ask you to leave.

Second reporter: You and Mr. Corinthos have also been linked to Brenda Barrett, the model. Is this payback?

Jax: Ok, you have your statement. There's your ride down. Thank you.

Reporter: Let's go.

Kate: I'm -- I'm really sorry you had to walk in on that.

Sonny: Hey, I told the truth. I'm proud to be marrying you.

Kate: Even though it appears my reputation has been ruined?

Sonny: When do I care about reputation? You know that.

Kate: Sonny, I know. But my entire business rests on perception. I spent years cultivating an image of a woman with taste and style -- someone who worked hard for her goals, who achieved her goals. And now, with one picture, I've gone from Kate Howard, fashion icon to Kate Howard, bimbo.

Sonny: Hey, hey, no, that's not true. Listen to me. You were born with class. They can't take that away from you.

Kate: Well, it appears they just did.

Sonny: Come here. It's going to --

Kate: No, it's ok. No, no, I'm just going to -- I'm going to collect myself. I'll be ok.
