Nikolas: Hi, there.
Sam: Hey.
Nikolas: Welcome to the emily bowen quartermaine free clinic.
Sam: I've got to say, this place looks amazing. I'm so sorry I haven't come by to see it sooner.
Nikolas: No, actually, it's probably best that you waited, though. We've had a few, shall I say, setbacks the first weeks.
Sam: Setbacks? What kind of setbacks?
Nikolas: Come on, I'll tell you.
Sam: Ok. Is everything ok?
Nadine: So, exam rooms are stocked. Supply closet's been inventoried. All we need now are some patients. Matt: Yeah, definitely. Who is that?
Nadine: Why? Matt: Well, if she seeking medical attention, she should be speaking to a doctor, not a trust fund baby who thinks he can fix everything with money.
Nadine: You should be grateful that nikolas was willing to throw some of that money your way, because without his generosity, you wouldn't hava fellowship.
Woman: Por favor, ayudanos. Matt: What happened? Mother: Laedicina no esta funcionando. Se esta poniendo fuego.
Sam: Wait -- she's saying that the medication is making her daughter worse.
Clarice: This is fantastic, kate.
Kate: Oh, thank you, clarice. So, tell me. Exactly how many times has giselle called you since you left "couture"?
Clarice: Oh, six or seven times -- a day.
Kate: Ok, see, I'm not surprised. Because you were practically running the place before i scooped you up. And now that I have, giselle might actually have to come up with an original idea.
Clarice: Well, thank you again for giving me this opportunity.
Kate: Please. You earned it.
Clarice: I'll be back in ten minutes with your coffee.
Kate: No, no, no. You will not. As my accessories editor, it is your job to fill the pages of "crimson" with the hot trend ideas, not fetch lukewarm coffee. That is why I have not one but two assistants -- who never seem to show up for work.
Clarice: Maxie and lulu were both here earlier. I just sent them off to run some errands. I hope you don't mind.
Kate: No, actually. That's fine, as long as my to-do list was taken care of first. I had an important delivery scheduled this morning. And if sonny has not received it, there will be hell to pay.
Sonny: Last time I checked, you don't work for me anymore, max. Even if you did, arranging flowers isn't part of the job description.
Max: Right. Well, that's what I wanted to talk to you about. Milo and I, we -- we don't feel right working for anyone but you. So, if you'll have us back, we can start at any time.
Sonny: Yeah, yeah. I'll think about that. What's with the flowers?
Max: Oh, these are from kate.
Johnny: I got nothing to say without my lawyer.
Lucky: I'm not here to question you. Not that I could, because I've been taken off the case.
Johnny: Then what do you want?
Lucky: It doesn't take much to figure out what you and logan were fighting about. I'm only concerned about how this is affecting my sister.
Lulu: Well, if you really want to know, you should be asking me, not johnny.

Lulu: Johnny is in lockup for something he didn't do, so don't make it worse by shoving a lecture down his throat.
Lucky: Johnny had the means and the motive. How can you be so sure he didn't kill logan?
Johnny: Lulu has faith in me.
Lucky: I want to hear it from her.
Lulu: You don't know johnny like I do. He would not kill somebody in cold blood.
Lucky: You have to admit, johnny had one hell of a role model growing up.
Johnny: I'm nothing like my father.
Lucky: You want to believe that johnny is innocent -- that logan didn't die because of some obsessive crush he had on you? There's certainly enough evidence to build one hell of a case against him.
Lulu: If you are finished, i would like to spend some time alone with johnny before he's taken back to his cell.
Lucky: Well, he's going to be questioned all morning. So you're going to have to come back later.
Lulu: Fine. I will see you in a few hours.
Nadine: Bp is 80 over 50. Temp 104. Matt: She seems a little responsive to painful stimuli. What meds has she been given?
Sam: Antibiotics.
Nikolas: But from where?
Sam: Well, she said that she got them from mercy three days ago, and then she took isabel in this morning because they weren't working, and they turned her away.
Nadine: Why?
Sam: She said because they said that they needed to give the medication time to work. Matt: Well, this girl has a serious infection that appears to have gone completely untreated. So, if we don't get this under control, she could die.
Kate: I mean, really. She has outdone herself. I just can't wait for sonny to see me walking down the aisle in this.
Clarice: Why not build the anticipation for sonny as well as the readers by running the sketches in the second issue? Give them all a taste of what's to come.
Kate: Ok, see, right there. See, ideas like this. That is why you will never be fetching coffee again.
[Knock on door]
Diane: Clarice. So is the rumor true? Has kate finally persuaded you to leave "couture"?
Clarice: Well, it didn't take much convincing. Giselle was a nightmare to work for.
Diane: Oh, god. I can only imagine what you were made to endure. The magazine certainly went downhill after she took over. I might juste biased because of my friendship with the form editor. Can I have a word with you?
Kate: Of course.
Clarice: I have some phone calls to make.
Kate: Ok, but when maxie and lulu get back, you make sure to tell them you have more important things to do now than answer the phones. All right, so what is it this time? You got a weekend getaway? A fabulous dinner in the city?
Diane: Believe it or not, I'm not here for samples.
Kate: What?
Diane: I know, I know. Surprising.
Kate: [Laughs]
Diane: Although, I wouldn't mind sneaking a peak at jean-paul's fall line.
Kate: Oh, yeah. You and everybody else.
Diane: Oh.
Kate: Well, I might be getting some samples on friday. If you drop by, I might be able to give you that sneak peek.
Diane: Ok, ok. Don't tease. See?
[Laughter]
Diane: That's why giselle could never hold a candle to you. Not only are you an icon, but you are a veritable fashion fairy godmother raining couture down on my closet.
Kate: Ok, that's enough. Thank you very much. So, what can I do for you in the meantime?
Diane: Well, I am not in the practice of meddling. In fact --
[Kate clears throat]
Diane: Far be it from me to tell anyone what to do.
Kate: Ok, clearly, that is why you're here, diane. So just go on. Say what you have to say.
Diane: All right, if you insist. I think sonny corinthos is the worst thing that's ever happened to you. Having said that, it is clear that you are head over heels in love with the man. So trust me. As one who has dealt with the man under extremely difficult, often emotional circumstances, you are handling your fiance all wrong.
Sonny: Did you or milo talk to jason about coming back to work for me?
Max: Well, I wanted to talk to you first and be sure you're ok with it. I know you don't want guards, so maybe you could think of milo and I as drivers with security qualifications.
Sonny: You want to date diane while you're working here?
Max: I was hoping you could leave my personal life out of it.
Sonny: Is that a yes, max?
Max: I want to come back to work for you, boss. All right? And milo will do whatever i decide. But you can't ask me to give up diane.
Sonny: Do you think you can focus on work while you're dating my lawyer?
Max: No question.
Sonny: Ok, then you talk to -- talk to jason.
Max: Sure. I will. What do you want me to talk to him about?
Sonny: About coming back, you and milo coming back to work for me.
Max: Ok, sure. I -- that would be great. No -- I mean -- that would be great.
Sonny: What do you --
Max: Because I want to come back to work for you. And milo and I are glad to do that.
Sonny: Right.
Max: But maybe you could talk to jason, you know?
Sonny: No, no.
Max: Boss to boss kind of thing.
Sonny: No, no, no. It's your decision. You've got to work this out. And you have to understand something, that when you come back to work for me, your loyalty is to me.
Max: Sure, boss. I understand. I'll go tell jason right now.
Sonny: No, take those. Take the flowers.
Max: What do you want me to do with them?
Sonny: Send them back. If you want to give them to diane -- but I don't want them. Just take them.
Max: I can't give these to ms. Miller. I mean, not that she wouldn't love them. They're gorgeous. Boss, miss howard got you these. We can't re-gift them. It wouldn't be right. And besides, what are you going to tell her when she asks you where they are?
Sonny: Kate and I, we're not talking at the moment. That's why she sent the flowers, because she thinks that we had a disagreement that can be glossed over by an apology. But the truth is, it's going to take a hell of a lot more to fix our problems.
Nikolas: Ok.
Sam: She is just a little girl.
Nikolas: I know.
Sam: It just -- it doesn't see fair. Her mother did everything right. She took her to the hospital. She got her treatment. And it didn't make a bit of difference. How does something like this happen? Since when did taking medication become a game of chance?
Nikolas: Since someone saw that there was a profit to be made. Apparently, the counterfeit drug business is quite lucrative. See, people -- people, they introduce the placebos into the market and then sell them at the same cost as the real prescription.
Sam: I know. I -- I have been known to run a scam to make a quick buck, but nothing like this. To take advantage of people's vulnerability, profiting off their sickness is just plain wrong.
Max: Do you want to work things out with ms. Howard?
Sonny: I love her. You know, that's just the way that is. But it's just -- I'm starting to feel like our worlds don't fit.
Max: Isn't that why you signed everything over to jason? To prove to kate that you could keep her safe?
Sonny: Well, that's part of it. I mean -- you know, after michael got shot, you know, you see your little boy there, laying in a bed in a coma. I mean, things have to change. And I felt like walking away, we -- kate and could start fresh, we can , you know, build a -- a new life together. But she's got her own life now. So, you know, I don't think she's willing to change.
Max: So where does that leave you?
Sonny: Well, I'll tell you where it doesn't leave me. It doesn't leave me in the background hding kate's purse while she's, you know, getting her picture taken. That may be good for some people, but I am not going to spend the rest of my life being kate's lapdog. You know?
Max: Ms. Howard is a high-powered woman, but you don't seriously think that she'd order you around, do you?
Sonny: No, it's not like that, max. She treats me with respect. And she's worked hard to get where she's at. I'm not trying to take that away, but if she wants me --
Max: Boss --
Sonny: To be in her life, then she's going to have to, you know, give me some room.
Max: Boss, ms. Howard could have gone back to manhattan at any time. But she stayed and she found a way to work. That should tell you how much she cares.
Sonny: I'm not saying she doesn't love me.
Max: Cut her little bit of slack. According to diane, ms. Howard's got a lot riding on this magazine. Her reputation is on the line.
Max: If "crimson" fails, she's going to have a hard time finding work anywhere. That's got to be stressful.
Sonny: Her career is one thing, max. But, you know what? I am not going to look the other way while she's having this pretend affair with jax for publicity. I will not -- be disrespected like that.
Max: Maybe there's a compromise. That's what marriage is supposed to be about, right?
Diane: Sonny is an extremely proud man. Some would call him arrogant. Most would certainly consider him domineering.
Kate: [Sighs] I am well aware of exactly who sonny is, and I am proud of his accomplishments. And I think that he's proud of mine.
Diane: Yes, but you seem to be forgetting how possessive the man is. And if I had to guess, I would say he is less than thrilled with the public speculating that you and jax are sleeping together.
Kate: He has made his feelings on the subject quite clear. Look, diane, I was hoping that we could have some sort of middle ground, make some sort of compromise so that I could still be seen in public with jax in order to promote "crimson" but not detract from my relationship with sonny.
Maxie: Ok. I picked up the mock ups from the printer and I made extra copies for the staff meeting.
Clarice: Thank you for taking care of all that.
Maxie: Not a problem. Is kate here?
Clarice: She got here about 20 minutes ago. I told her that you and lulu were both running errands, but i don't know how long that excuse will hold. Do you have any idea when lulu might be in?
Maxie: I -- I don't know. She should be here any minute.
[Elevator door opens]
Lulu: Sorry I'm late.
Clarice: Don't let it happen again. If kate catches you slacking off, there will be someone else sitting in that desk before you can even start to explain.
Maxie: You really need to get yourself together.
Lulu: Johnny is in lockup for something I did. How am I supposed to live with that?
Johnny: You're sure spending a lot of time in here for someone who's been booted off the case. That's borderline harassment. Maybe I should get my lawyers to look into that.
Lucky: Go ahead. I'll probably walk away with a reprimand. But it'll be worth it knowing that my sister's safe.
Johnny: Ok, there is nothing more important to me in this world than your sister.
Lucky: Then quit being selfish. Logan may have deserved to die like a dog in the street, but she cared about him. She gave him chance after chance. Now he's dead. Probably because of you.
Johnny: Probably. It's going to take a hell of a lot more than "probably" to convict me in a court of law.
Lucky: Yeah, well, my sister is blaming herself. And it's only going to get worse.
Johnny: Don't you think I know that? But there's nothing I can do about that in here.
Jerry: Hello, commissioner.
Mac: I don't remember asking you to come down for questioning.
Jerry: Well, my business is of a more personal nature. I'm here to see alexis. Perhaps to offer some distraction, preferably on every ailable surface that the taxpayers so kindly provided in this office.
Mac: If you think dating alexis gives you a free pass, you're mistaken.
Jerry: Oh, I don't know. You know, dating a D.A. Certainly has its privileges.
Mac: You smug son of a bitch. Someone ought to knock that smile right off your face.
Jerry: That would be illegal, commissioner.
[Jerry shouts in pain]
Lucky: Everything ok out here?
Mac: Mr. Jacks just lost his balance. I was about to help him up.
Lucky: I've got it.
Mac: No, don't bother. I'll do it.
Jerry: One punch in the name of misguided chivalry can be overlooked. Try it again, I'll put you in traction, police commissioner or not.
Mac: You think you're so smart, jerry, seducing alexis to take advantage of her position as D.A.? But eventually, she's going to see right through you.
Jerry: You care to wager on that?
Mac: You're a lousy gambler. You never knew when to cut your losses. Get out of here. Let's go. Come on. Get out of here.
Nikolas: Excuse me. Could you page dr. Hunter for me? I need to speak to him about that little girl that was brought in here from the clinic.
Nurse: Dr. Hunter turned the case over to an attending pediatrician. I can page dr. O'donnell if you'd like.
Nikolas: Ok. Thank you.
Sam: Wait. Do you know where her mother is?
Nurse: The pediatric icu. Hasn't left the child's side.
Sam: The doctors, they're doing everything they can, right? I mean, they are going to be able to save this little girl?
Nurse: You have to speak to dr. O'donnell about that.
Nikolas: All right. Nadine, hi.
Nadine: Hi.
Nikolas: How is isabel?
Nadine: Well, we got her on iv antibiotics and wee trying to bring the fever down, but the infection may have already compromised her nervous system.
Spinelli: Whiskey. Straight up and keep them coming.
Coleman: It's not even ten o'clock in the morning.
Spinelli: Yeah, well, the jackal's sorrow knows no time limit. It is an all-consuming, life-altering pain that only the stiffest of drinks can hope to alleviate.
Coleman: You start downing whiskey this early, you'll be feeling a hell of a lot worse in a few hours. Why don't you -- why don't you have, like, an orange soda instead?
Spinelli: Perhaps the jackal was unclear in his intent. He wishes to wallow in despair and therefore require something a little more potent than nectar of the gods.
Coleman: Yeah? Well, you're going to have to go somewhere else. All right? If you get plastered here, you get into trouble, that means I'm going to get into trouble with -- you know, with your boss. I can't afford to be on the bad side of morgan. I mean -- not that --
[Chuckles] Not that he's got a good side, but --
Spinelli: In truth, stone cold has been very gracious and patient in regards to the jackal. But there is no way that the zen master can possibly comprehend his grasshopper's ongoing struggle because stone cold has the key to tame the wild heart. And although the jackal has been a dedicated pupil, he still continues to fail miserably in this particular respect, and therefore seeks to drown that said humiliation by imbibing distilled spirits of mass quantity.
Eli: Whoo -- hey, bartender. I would like whiskey, straight up, and you can leave the bottle.
Coleman: Coming right up.
Spinelli: Wait, wait, wait. Why -- why does he get to partake without limit when the jackal is refused?
Coleman: It's eli love. Pay attention. You might learn a thing or two. Mr. Love. Hey. You -- you celebrating or commiserating?
Eli: Well, actually, you can call me eli and I'm celebrating. I want you to join me.
Coleman: Hey. What are we drinking to, man?
Eli: We're drinking to wealth, health, and women. May they all be as beautiful as the lovely anna devane.
Anna: [Sighs loudly]
Robin: Well, hello.
Anna: Hi.
Robin: I'm not even going to bother to ask you how everything went with eli because that sigh says it all.
Anna: Mm. It was great. [Laughs] It was really good. You know, he is so talented. He played some of his new songs. They are amazing. We connect on such a deep level. It's --
Robin: That's great, mom.
Anna: Sometimes I have to pinch myself because here's a guy that I worshipped for years, and he digs me. And we wants to spend time with me. And it's so cool. I -- and I'm incredibly lucky, i guess.
Robin: Oh, come on. Eli is the lucky one.
Anna: Yeah. He is. That was very quick thinking, hiding your baby bump with the x-rays.
Robin: Oh, it's no big deal.
Anna: I appreciate the effort.
Anna: Don't for one second think I'm sorry about this baby. I am so happy for you. And for me. I did a lot of wrong things when you were a child. And I really want to make it up. I'm going to be the best damn grandmother any baby has ever had. You know, this whole thing with eli is just stupid. It's just a self-indulgence.
Robin: No, it's not stupid. It's not. You're happy. And I want for you to be happy. And I don't want you to think that when this baby is born that you have to change. You don't have to fit into some stereotypical mold of a grandmother.
Anna: I can'T.
Robin: Right. So just be yourself. I mean, come on. Any kid would be lucky to have you in their life. I know I was.
Maxie: It's a little late for second thoughts. If you confess, it's going to look like you're covering for johnny. Or the police are going to think that he has something to hide and then his chances of being acquitted will be shot to hell. So unless you want your boyfriend shipped off to pentonville for the rest of his life, I suggest you suck it up and just see this through.
Lulu: Well, I'm not like you, maxie. I can't sit here and act like nothing happened while johnny takes the blame for killing logan. I'm the one who ended his life. I should be the one who has to pay.
Maxie: I'm not acting like nothing happened. Logan was a pig, and I believe that you killed him in self-defense. So that is why johnny and I are doing back-flips to try and cover for you. Alonzo: Is she in?
Maxie: Alonzo, wait. Oh, kate wasn't expecting you till three. Alonzo: I'm having dinner in milan tonight. I have exactly -- oh -- one hour before my flight leaves. If she can't fit me in now, we'll have to reschedule next month.
Maxie: Ok, why don't you take a seat? I'll let her know you're here early. Alonzo: All right, thank you.
Maxie: Ok.
Kate: Well, it's too bad giselle couldn't handle it. Could you hold a minute, please? Maxie, whatever it is, you need to take care of it.
Maxie: Alonzo needs to get on a plane to milan in an hour and he wants to choose the models with you now.
Kate: Ok, you need to stay here.
Sonny: Lulu? I'm here to see kate. Can I just go in there? Alonzo: Absolutely not.
Sonny: You say something?
