Robin: My mother should go to the Eli Love concert to prove to him, but more importantly to herself, that she doesn't care. You know, she doesn't need his rock star attention to be the beautiful, empowered woman that she always has been.
Patrick: And it wouldn't be a bad idea for Eli to see her eat his heart out when he realizes she doesn't give a damn.
Noah: Yeah, but if she doesn't want to go, you're not going to make her go.
Patrick: Well, no, robin can't, but you could.
Noah: Oh, no, no, no, no. Keep me out of this, please.
Patrick: Dad, come on. She trusts you, and she -- you know, I think you could do it, and plus, you look like the guy.
Noah: Please, I like to think I have a little bit more depth of character than Eli Love.
Robin: Well, then prove it. Talk to her.
Noah: If she doesn't want to go, I can't make her go either.
Robin: You can. You can convince her. It really is the ego boost that my mom needs right now.
Noah: Look, I'd really love to help Anna out. You know --
Robin: Thank you, Noah, very much.
Noah: You're welcome, I think.
Patrick: I'm all about helping your mom beat this self-centered rock star guy, but what do you expect to happen at the concert that's going to make her turn around?
Robin: Mm, I'm working on that.
Sam: I need to see a doctor as soon as possible. I think I pulled a muscle in my shoulder.
Nadine: Sure, I will put you in room three. Follow me.
Sam: Perfect. Thank you.
Nadine: You may have to wait a while to see the doctor.
Sam: Hey.
Lucky: Hey.
Sam: I am so happy to see you. I've missed you so much.
Lucky: You know, I'm hating this undercover thing more and more all the time. Not only are we not spending any time together, I have to worry about you.
Sam: Ok, I know. I hate not being together, too, but our breakup is a success. Everybody's buying it.
Lucky: Good -- is there any progress on your part?
Sam: Ok, yes, there is. It's funny that you mention it. I just got back from a meeting with this Russian guy, Andrei Karpov.
Lucky: No, I never heard of him.
Sam: Ok, all right, well, he's looking for a local captain to supervise imports and exports, and he was very specific about what he wanted. He wanted somebody who had the ability not to ask questions. Me.
Sam: Import-export -- that's usually a vague term for mob.
Sam: Yeah, I know, I know. I talked to one of my contacts, and he says that he's a heavy-hitter in international shipping. How much do you want to bet that his cargo is counterfeit drugs?
Diane: I have obtained a court order for my client's release. There is no proof that Jason Morgan intentionally aided or abetted John Zacchara's escape. Therefore, you are obligated to release him.
Mac: Jason blocked detective Harper's shot at John Zacchara.
Diane: Jason saved Lulu Spencer's life when a trigger-happy cop might have shot her head off. My client's swift intervention prevented a tragedy. Judge Randall sees it that way. It's all right here in the court order.
Mac: You know what? You should advise your client that if he makes contact with Johnny or Lulu, he should advise them to contact us.
Diane: Once again, I have so earned my retainer. Judge Randall just issued a court order for your release. Commissioner Scorpio is processing the paperwork as we speak. You are -- you will be out of here in no time.
Jason: Thank you.
Diane: You're welcome.
Jason: Have you -- have you heard from Sonny?
Diane: I had a meeting with him this morning. Why?
Jason: Well, he came to see me, and he wanted to know who was, you know, watching the business while I was in lockup.
Diane: And you said?
Jason: I am, and things are calm with the Zaccharas' south American partners. Everything's good there, but he said something about being vulnerable to rivals. Do you know what that was about?
Diane: Rivals? Perhaps Sonny simply misses being in charge.
Jason: No, he doesn't -- he doesn't want the business back, Diane, so I'm just kind of trying to figure out what's going on.
Diane: That is anyone's guess.
Jason: What'd you guys talk about this morning?
Diane: Jason, anything that I discuss with Sonny is subject to attorney-client privilege, and I owe him the same loyalty and discretion that I owe you.
Johnny: I studied at the Sherwood music conservatory.
Lourdes: Yeah, sounds fancy.
Johnny: I liked it all right. The professors were ok, but I always liked professor Siegel the best.
Lourdes: So, did you go to any concerts when you were living in Chicago?
Johnny: Yeah, my mother would take me to this place called Nichols hall to hear chamber music.
Lourdes: So wait, no rock or blues?
Johnny: I did the club scene every once in a while. Is this a piano lesson or an interview?
Lourdes: Sorry. I really think you're an interesting guy.
Johnny: No, actually, I'm pretty ordinary.
Lourdes: Ordinary people live in the same neighborhood most of their lives like yours truly, but here you are, showing up out of nowhere at a professor's apartment like you jumped out of the sky or something.
Claudia: You should have told my father about Logan's knife-happy history before you hired him to push my dad around in a wheelchair.
Ric: Sorry to disappoint you, but that's not really something you can blackmail me with.
Claudia: Oh, really? Excuse me? There's one person in this world that my father loves, and that's Johnny, and you knew that Logan and Johnny had bad blood, and you knew that Logan had a history of violence.
Ric: What -- what am I, clairvoyant? All of a sudden, I'm going to be able to predict the outcome?
Claudia: See, I don't know if my father's going to see it like that. I'm thinking that he might figure you could have avoided this entire situation if you hadn't hired Logan in the first place, or in the very least, Ric, if you told my father about the potential for violence here.
Ric: That's some pretty dark, paranoid reasoning.
Claudia: Yeah, well, my father's the poster child for paranoia. He's looking for someone to blame this on, and I'll tell you what. I wouldn't mind if some of the heat that's been landing on me landed on you instead.
Ric: Why don't you go ahead? You go tell Anthony. And when he kills me, you lose your one chance to get your little brother acquitted.
Claudia: Maybe.
Ric: Yeah, maybe? What's plan b, Claudia? How are you going to get -- how are you going to save your brother? Look, I suggest we stop making threats and start thinking as allies.
Carly: Wasn't that better than fighting?
Jax: Oh, yeah. You're unbelievable, you know that? But I love you too much to settle for just part of your heart.
Carly: You have all of my heart, didn't I just prove that to you?
Jax: No, Carly, seducing me won't solve our very real problems.
Carly: Ok, so why don't we deal with our problems one at a time, in between having sex, let's say for the rest of our lives?
Jax: You're unbelievably persuasive.
Carly: Does that mean yes?
Jax: No, it's my way of saying that you're trying to distract me from this business meeting. That's not going to work.
Carly: I don't care about this meeting, because I wanted to be with you. You want our marriage to be a priority, and so do I.
Jax: We should have landed by now.
Carly: Uh --
Jax: What?
Carly: I asked Darren to circle. He thinks we're a good couple, so he agreed. Probably going to miss the meeting. No way you're going to make it in time.
Jax: Well, you know what? Fortunately for me, I don't have to wait for the plane to land.
Carly: What?
Lucky: You know, I think we should scale back our original plan.
Sam: Now, lucky, when we're finally making progress?
Lucky: You've already made contact with this Karpov character. I can take it from here.
Sam: No, forget it.
Lucky: Listen, just tell me if there's anything I can use. I can run a background check.
Sam: No, you cannot run a background check. What if there are moles in the department? You go around asking questions, you're going to blow my cover before I even get the job.
Lucky: Listen, the whole point is to keep you from putting yourself in danger. I don't like the sound of this guy, and if this slime-bag is running this drug ring, who's to say he hadn't even put a tail on you already?
Nikolas: Well, I'm so glad that I was able to contribute millions of dollars to build this nice secret clubhouse.
Sam: You know, I'm glad you're here. You have good timing. Will you please remind your brother that we put a plan into motion that carries a certain amount of risk, but the end does justify the means? And while you're at it, let him know that I am a big girl who can take care of herself.
Sonny: What's that?
Max: Oh, you got a delivery.
Sonny: You order some vodka?
Max: Yeah, it's from Karpov.
Sonny: Here.
Max: Oh, thanks.
Sonny: Hey, it's a bribe. You keep your mouth shut about Karpov. I don't want Jason to know about my deal with him.
Max: Yeah, no problem.
Max: But chances are he's going to figure it out on his own, boss. I mean, Karpov's in town, he's got to be dealing with somebody.
Sonny: I don't want -- I don't want your warning. Just want you to do your job.
Max: Yes, sir. I take it you just came from seeing Jason.
Sonny: I don't even know why I bothered. He used to be grateful for my advice. He had respect, and now --
Max: He still does, boss.
Sonny: No, well, you know what? Ever since Michael got shot, he's lost his trust in me. I tried to talk to him, give him my honest opinion. He misinterprets what I'm trying to do.
Max: Boss, the thing with Michael shook him up pretty bad. Maybe if you just went to him and told him how you are feeling and what you --
Sonny: I'm not going to -- what do I have -- what more can I say, max? I'm done.
Sonny: It's best for everyone that Jason doesn't know about my dealings with Karpov.
Claudia: You know, you keep bringing up this alliance idea, and I'm just wondering what the catch is.
Ric: There's no catch, just a simple arrangement where everyone benefits. Your beloved brother John goes free, and I get Johnny's sister and Anthony's daughter as an ally on the inside.
Claudia: You sprung my father so that you could be in his inner circle. So why do you keep coming after me?
Ric: Anthony has a way of playing people off against one another.
Claudia: Oh, yeah, he loves playing you and Trevor off each other.
Ric: Yes, he confides in us when it's convenient. He lies when it suits his fancy. Look, I pride myself on being very good at reading people, but your father is a master manipulator.
Claudia: Ok, so the attorney doesn't trust his client?
Ric: Something like that.
Claudia: Well, even if I could help you, not that I would -- look, my father pretty much shut me out of everything, so there's not a lot I can do.
Ric: Look, you have an in with John. That is all I need.
Claudia: Fine. Get my brother cleared of all these murder charges. I will be your ally. Shake.
Ric: I was kind of hoping for more than just a handshake.
Claudia: Oh, yeah, how much more?
Ric: Physical contact solidifies a relationship, you know.
Claudia: You want me to sleep with you? You want me to sleep with you to save my brother?
Ric: Well, come on, it's not so cryptic as all that. I think we can have a mutually beneficial relationship in and out of bed.
Claudia: Ok, here's the deal. Get my brother cleared of all these murder charges. On the day he's acquitted, I will happily go to bed with you.
[Knock on door]
Johnny: Linda's family didn't really approve of her moving to new York.
Lourdes: I thought you said Linda got accepted to NYU.
Lulu: I did.
Johnny: She also got accepted to northwestern.
Lulu: Where my mom went. They wanted me to stay close to home, but Joe and I wanted our freedom.
Lourdes: So it's kind of like you ran away?
Sal: Lourdes, are you in there?
Lulu: Hi.
Sal: Hey, Linda, how are you? I got your note about taking another lesson.
Lourdes: Well, Joe is a great teacher.
Sal: Look, I'm really glad you're into it, but I can only afford to pay for one lesson a week, so --
Lourdes: You know, I'd be able to afford a lot more music lessons if the Zaccharas didn't kill dad.
Sal: Lourdes!
Robin: Hi.
Sonny: Looks like you two worked things out. How's -- how's the baby?
Robin: Perfectly healthy.
Sonny: You need to realize what an amazing woman you have here.
Patrick: I do, Sonny.
Robin: Yeah, so I'm here on behalf of another amazing woman, my mother, the grandmother-to-be.
Sonny: Anna?
Robin: Yeah, her self-confidence has taken a blow lately, and I could really use your help.
Epiphany: The patient is resting comfortably in his room. You might want to look at his chart.
Matt: Swelling is down.
Epiphany: No need for that O.R.
Matt: If this is your way of rubbing it in that Dr. Drake's diagnosis was correct, I'm good, actually, because I've got the reminder right here.
Epiphany: You know, you might want to work with the members of this staff instead of against them, because some of us have been bandaging heads while you were still skinning your knees. Ann: Excuse me, hi. I had a page from Dr. Drake, sr.
Noah: Hey, thanks for coming.
Anna: Oh, hello. So, before you start, I imagine that this is a pep talk about me going with robin and Patrick to Eli's concert, no?
Noah: Yeah, pretty much.
Anna: Ok. No, before you start this whole speech, I'd like you to know that I would prefer a dinner invitation from you than all of this other stuff. We have been so busy reacting to our impending grandparenthood that we haven't actually had a chance to catch up as friends.
Noah: I -- I would absolutely love to.
Anna: Good.
Noah: But I don't want you to use me to hide from Eli Love.
Jax: Hey, you might want to buckle up. Even though we're flying at a low altitude, when I open that door, the cabin pressure's going to drop, and you might get sucked out, so --
Carly: Are you insane?
Jax: Are you buckled up?
Carly: I am not going to lose you over some stupid -- Jax!
Lulu: I'm so sorry that you lost your father.
Johnny: I had no idea that he'd been murdered.
Sal: Our father used to own a diner by the docks. He was an honest businessman trying to make a living, but then the Zaccharas took over that part of town, and they forced him to pay protection money and turn a blind eye to their late night warehouse activities. Our father refused, and three days later, he was killed in a car accident. Nobody could prove anything, and they told me to keep my mouth shut, or I'd end up just like him.
Lulu: That's terrible.
Johnny: I'm sorry.
Sal: Me too. Those Zaccharas are pigs, bleeding people for their money, and if you stand up to them, you die. You know, some day, somebody's going to wipe them all out like they deserve.
Nikolas: Well, if you're asking me to weigh in on your continued involvement, I'd say it's your choice.
Lucky: Thanks a lot. Am I the only one who realizes Sam could be risking her life?
Sam: Wait, my life.
Nikolas: I -- I'm concerned for her, too. It certainly wouldn't disappoint me if you decided to back off. I'd actually feel better if you would, but you're driving the only lead we have right now. If we're going to stop this drug ring, you're probably the best shot we have.
Sam: Oh, how about your only shot.
Nikolas: Look, I'll -- you decide, ok? Just be careful.
Lucky: No.
Sam: Wait, wait. Don't say anything, please. Let me, ok? I know that you are sick with worry over Lulu, and the last thing you need to be is worried about me, too. Not only can I handle myself, but for the first time in a long time, I actually feel like I have a purpose, a reason to get up in the morning, so I'm begging you, lucky, please. I'm asking you to believe that I know how to do this. Trust me.
Ric: In case you haven't heard, Claudia, Jason hates me so much it borders on psychotic.
Jason: You know what? Just call me when you're done with this.
Ric: No, no, no, don't be so secretive, Jason, really. I know the only reason that you're here is because you know that Claudia's been in touch with Johnny. Thank you for confirming that.
Jason: Whatever miracles Ric has promised you on Johnny's behalf, he's lying.
Ric: Oh, you're so sure of yourself, aren't you? Sitting in judgment of the whole world, smug in your own superiority, living that inviolate code of loyalty.
Jason: You know nothing about loyalty.
Ric: Really?
Jason: Yeah.
Ric: Neither does Sonny, apparently. He's working with Andrei Karpov.
