Monday August 18- Part 2 Lulu: It was me. Nikolas: What was? Lulu: Logan was messed up, and so was I. I kept giving him mixed signals, but all I ever really wanted was Johnny. But I was scared. Nikolas: Of what? Lulu: Of feeling too much. Johnny and I kept getting closer and closer, and Logan wouldn't accept it. He thought that I would be the one to save him, but I couldn't, and now I can't save Johnny. We would have gotten away if I had been strong enough, but I couldn't. Nikolas: No. Lulu: I'm going crazy. Nikolas: No, Lulu. No, Lulu. You're not like mom. You just need to rest. You've been through a lot. [Knock on door] Lainey: Hi. Hi, Lulu. Do you remember me? Dr. Winters. Nikolas: I'm glad you're here. We really need your help. Lainey: I'll do the best I can. Lulu, can we talk? Sasha: I have brokered many of Andrei's deals over the past several years, and in my opinion, you are by far his most promising ally. Sonny: Not anymore. Sasha: Then would you consider yourself his enemy? Sonny: No, I consider myself a neutral third party. My deal with Karpov is over. He's on his own. Sasha: I see. May I? Sonny: Did Karpov send you? Sasha: No, I came here on my own. I think you're worth the effort. You're well-connected, and you have a very reasonable understanding of how things work. Sonny: What's in it for you? Sasha: Andrei would be happy if I brought you back into the fold. An alliance with you would bring us all profit and peace. No more messy investigations and nothing to clean up. Sonny: No dead bodies? Sasha: Exactly. Sonny: Hmm, interesting. Well, here's the thing. I made it clear to Karpov drugs are off limits. He lied to me. We're done. Sasha: Well, maybe we could explore other options. Sonny: You know what? I appreciate what you're trying to do, but it's wasted. Sasha: Well, I'm sorry to hear that. Sasha: If you change your mind. Sonny: I won't. Sasha: Think about it anyway. Andrei has a habit of getting what he wants. [Sonny scoffs] [Door closes] Jax: Wow, salmon pate, Moose berry chocolate, Bear River wine. Well, you really pulled out all the stops, didn't you? Carly: Do you remember the last time we had all this? Jax: Yes, I do. We were visiting my mother in Alaska. Carly: And your mom watched the boys, and we went to the river, and we had a picnic. Jax: Yes, and it was very romantic. Carly: Yeah. Jax: Really romantic, until you saw that moose and screamed your head off. Carly: I can do without uber-nature. Jax: Yeah, but you can't do without your junk food, so where are the cheesy snacks, hmm? Carly: That was Alaska. This is now, and this is about you. Jax: Carly. Carly: Ok, just admit that you love the fact that I'm chasing after you. Jax: No, it's wonderful. It's a wonderful feeling to be the priority in your life. What happens when I give in? Carly: We live happily after. Jax: Mm-hmm, unless our marriage stops being - Carly: Stop, stop, stop, because I am doing all this to prove to you how much I love you. And I love everything about you. I love your charm, and I -- I love your wit. I love your irritatingly rational mind. I even love your mooseberry chocolate. Carly: Ow. Jax: Oh. Carly: Ow. Jax: Sorry. Bernie: Karpov made a secret alliance with Sonny Corinthos. There is only one plausible reason for that. It's to find out your weaknesses. Jason: Sonny's not going to give him anything that he can use against me, Bernie. Bernie: Look, I have the utmost respect for Mr. Corinthos. You know that. For one thing, he's a very astute businessman, but he's changed since Michael was shot. He's -- grief can do terrible things to a human being, things that Karpov can exploit to his advantage. He has got to be neutralized before he can use whatever Sonny gives him. Everybody who works for this organization is under your protection. For their sake as well as yours, you can't let Karpov make the first move. Now this -- this Cody Paul guy, you'll like him a lot. He's discreet. He's reliable. He's got experience with firearms. Jason: I'm not -- I'm not going to throw this in anyone else's lap. If Karpov has to die, it's on me to do it. Lucky: Thanks for coming. Elizabeth: You guys, I am not a doctor. If the bullet hit a vital organ - Sam: It's just a flesh wound. I'm going to be fine. I'm not going to the hospital. Lucky: What do you think? Elizabeth: Yeah, she's right. It looks like a fairly superficial wound, but you're going to need stitches. Sam: I know. Lucky's probably already told you this, but I appreciate you being here. Elizabeth: I don't want to know the details, but the big picture is pretty clear. You were in trouble, and Lucky was there to save you, so either your breakup was incredibly short, or it was staged. Scott: Well, you all saw that. She attacked me. I'm pressing charges. Trevor: Claudia had an emotional response because of the police brutality towards her brother. Scott: Emotional? She's crazy, just like her father. What do you people think that you can just break the law? Well, if you do, I'm going to arrest you. Anthony: Trevor, focus on Johnny. If the cops want to arrest Claudia, let them. Scott: You see? He's right. Arrest her. Mac: Come here, come here. Cool it, will you? Cool it. You're playing into Zacchara's hands. Scott: Do you think I give a damn? Mac: She slapped you. That's it. The whole room saw it. Look, you arrest Claudia for assault, you're out to persecute the whole family. Scott: Well, so be it, Mac. I want satisfaction. Mac: Let it go, Scott. You're only weakening the case against Johnny Zacchara. Scott: Fine. I suggest that you fold up your psychotic circus tent and move on. Take her. Claudia: I'm not going anywhere until I see my brother. Nikolas: Logan's infatuation with Lulu turned into this obsession for her. Lainey: But you wanted to be with Johnny. Lulu: Yes. Nikolas: And Logan, he just -- he just wouldn't let it go, and he and Johnny, they got into this fight. Lulu: Logan attacked. It was self-defense. Nikolas: Logan ended up getting stabbed and killed, and now John is accused of murder. Lainey: But Johnny broke out of the PCPD by taking Lulu hostage. Is that right? Nikolas: This is covered under the doctor-patient confidentiality thing, right? Lainey: Of course. Nikolas: Ok, Lulu may have brought a gun into the PCPD and helped John escape. Lulu: Everybody keeps blaming Johnny, but he is innocent. Lainey: And you feel guilty about what happened? Lulu: I did it. Nikolas: She's not -- she's not responsible for any of this. If you can make her understand that, we can get her out of here. Lulu: I'm never going to get out of here. I'm just like mom. Max: Miss Howard. Kate: Has Sasha gone yet? Max: Well, you missed her by a couple of minutes. Kate: Oh, well, she didn't stay long. So she seemed fairly familiar with Sonny. Does she come around often? Max: Uh - Sonny: No, she doesn't, Kate. You got any more questions? How are you doing? Kate: I can think of a few. Oh, nice perfume. I recognize it. You can only get it in Paris. Sonny: You're jealous, Kate? Kate: You're a handsome man, Sonny. She was eying you like you were ice cream on a hot day. Sonny: She's, you know, a smart, assertive woman. Kate: That's the wrong answer. You're supposed to say something negative. Sonny: Well, one way or the other doesn't matter, because I was doing bus -- I had meetings with her, and then our business is done. Kate: Why is that? Sonny: Because the man that she works for lied to me. [Karpov shouts in Russian] Sasha: Is there a problem? Karpov: Someone tipped off the feds. The D.A. was waiting when our shipment came in. Sasha: What happened? Karpov: They found nothing, but there was gunfire. One of ours is dead. Another one is shot and missing. I was compromised, and I know -- I know who was responsible. Sasha: No, I doubt it was Sonny. It doesn't seem like his style. Karpov: What makes you say that? Sasha: He's not the kind of man who calls in law enforcement. Karpov: You may be right, but I'll have to watch people more closely. I can't afford trouble like this. Sasha: Well, I talked to Sonny, and he won't reconsider. Karpov: Forget about him, for now. Our main obstacle is Jason Morgan. Sasha: What are you going to do? Karpov: Trying to eliminate Morgan and his organization could prove more costly and bloody than it's worth. I may have to compromise. Sasha: You've never done it in the past. Why would you consider it now? Carly: Ow. Jax: Oh, ow. Wow, you really did hurt your ankle, didn't you? I wonder how I ever doubted you. Carly: I guess I've been a little less than truthful on a couple of occasions, so of course I forgive you. Jax: Perhaps you should see a doctor, though, just in case. Carly: No, they can't do anything for it. Do you know how cute you are when you're concerned about me? Jax: Of course I'm concerned about you. You're in pain. Carly: I'd sprain the other ankle in a second if it kept us together. Jax: Well, we shouldn't have to hurt each other to stay in this marriage, so please - Carly: Just kidding, sort of. Jax: Ok. Carly: What's the opposite of pain? Carly: I want us together more than anything, but you're not ready. Carly: You know where to find me when you are. Scott: Your brother is a murder suspect, not a hospital patient. You don't just waltz in here and think you're going to see him. Claudia: Oh, why not? Scott: Well, you might try and break him out like Lulu did. Claudia: Ok, well, why don't you strip-search me, but make it fast, 'cause I'm going in to see my brother. Scott: You know what? Go say goodbye, 'cause he's going into maximum security - Claudia: Why don't you do something, please? Make yourself useful for a change, or do I need to bring in someone younger and hungrier, like your son? Trevor: Special prosecutor, you are prejudicial. Back off, or I'm going to get a restraining order. Scott: Now, you listen to me, you manicured mouthpiece. Innocent people, they don't break out of jail, and they don't dump dead bodies by the side of the road. Lulu: Johnny? Lainey: This is more than posttraumatic shock, and I'm still not clear on the inciting incident. Nikolas: I assume it was Logan's death. Lainey: Compounded by the possibility that Johnny might have killed him. Regardless, Lulu's losing faith in her own sanity, and the further she spirals out, the harder it will be for her to come back. Nikolas: And how do we stop it? Lainey: I'm not sure. Elizabeth: Here's an antibiotic to prevent infection. I tried to get you more, but I couldn't. Sam: I'm sure the drug cabinets are being watched carefully these days. Elizabeth: Yeah. Sam: Um, that's sort of what all of this was about, trying to find the people who were circulating the counterfeit drugs. Elizabeth: Oh, I wish Lucky had told me. Sam: I know, and actually he -- he wanted to, but I thought the fewer people who knew, the better. Elizabeth: I would have kept your secret. Sam: I know. I'm sorry. Lucky: Ok, it's only a snack, but I can make something more if you're hungry. Sam: No, that's perfect. Thank you, thank you. Elizabeth: Ok, I'm going to throw this stuff in the garbage. And you guys are doing a good thing. Lucky: Yeah, we're trying. Maybe it's too much to risk. Sam: We've been through this, Lucky. Lucky: The bullet almost killed you by this. Sam: I know, I know, and I'm all patched up. I'm fine. Lucky: You mean too much to me. Sam: Right back at you. Ow. Sonny: There's no reason to be upset. I mean, look, I -- I knew that getting out of the organization wouldn't be easy, and I, you know -- hey, I built a reputation so everybody would know who I was and people would fear me enough to, you know, stay out of my way. Eventually, somebody was going to come and try to pull me back in. Kate: Sasha's client? Sonny: Sit down. Ok, listen to me. A lot of businesses are like mine used to be, partly legit, partly illegal, but I made it clear that everyone, including Sasha and her boss, that I am completely legit. Nothing can change my mind. Kate: I appreciate how hard this is for you. Sonny: It's not that hard. Kate: Really? Sonny: What? Kate: Yeah, you have always been ambitious. Sonny: Yes. Kate: I get it, something we actually share. The business that you built in Bensonhurst is what got you out. Sonny: Now I'm starting a new life. Kate: And I'm concerned. I am concerned that the coffee business may not be enough to satisfy you. Sonny: If not, I'll go into another legitimate venture. Kate: I want to help you. I want to help you with this transition. I don't know how. Sonny: I'll tell you how. After Michael got shot... I realized how dark and ugly this business is, and my history in it. Your belief in me... has enabled -- enabled me to walk away. Sasha: So I've done some research, and it appears that Morgan uses violence only as a last resort. He'll put up with a lot to avoid a war, so perhaps your best option is to meet face-to-face and negotiate a truce. You know, an armed confrontation might be dangerous for you. Morgan spent a lot of years as Sonny's enforcer, and he's considered to be very good at what he does. Girl: Daddy! [Speaking Russian]
