Tuesday August 19 - Part 2 Patrick: Did you skip the sexual-harassment seminar? It's mandatory, you know. And from what I just heard, you're pretty much the only guy around here that could use the guidance. Matt: Ok, um, other than the sheer hypocrisy of Patrick "dog" Drake lecturing anyone about sex in the workplace, you are completely out of line. You may be senior to me when it comes to treating patients, but you have absolutely no authority over my personal life, and that includes who I'd like to flirt with. Patrick: Leyla, is Dr. Hunter bothering you? If so, just say the word and I'll have him shipped down to the admittance desk. Leyla: Ok, uh, I really appreciate your concern, but it's unnecessary. I'm perfectly capable of handling Matt by myself. Matt: I actually have work to do. Nice picture, buddy. Leyla: Did he just - Patrick: Guy's a jerk. Leyla: Yeah. Nadine: I'm so sorry. I didn't know that asking you to work matt would put you in the middle of all that. Leyla: No, it's ok. All of a sudden, I'm really intrigued about the dynamic between matt and Patrick. Interesting, don't you think? Alexis: Hey, Harper. Can you get me the report on the John Zacchara capture? There's already allegations of brutality. I want to get prepared. Harper: Yeah, I'll get it. Alexis: Thank you. Anthony: A word, D.A. Davis? Alexis: Not interested. Anthony: All right. Let me make this as clean and simple as possible so there's no room for misunderstanding. Either my son goes free, or you lose what you love most. Alexis: Your threats no longer faze me, Mr. Zacchara. Sonny and Jerry have both made it very clear that should any harm come to my daughters, you'll be dead and your beloved son might be, too. Anthony: I'm not so sure of that. Your protectors like to throw Johnny's name around, but I'm confident it's just a scare tactic. I think they'd stop at killing me. And I have no problem putting my theory to the test if it shakes up Johnny's case enough for him to go free. Unfortunately, you would've already paid a parent's ultimate price. So you just let me know. Do you really want to play chicken with a psycho bastard like me? Alexis: Get this guy out of here. Anthony: Oh, there's no need to trouble yourself. I can find my own way out. You folks get back to working on my son's case and making sure that justice prevails. Nikolas: Well, I stopped by the clinic and got your message. What's going on? Claudia: I'm worried about my brother. I went to see him this morning to try to get him to focus on some kind of a defense, but all he wants to know about is Lulu. So I was hoping maybe you had some kind of positive thing that I could take back to him. Nikolas: I really wish I did, but she's really shaky right now. Claudia: What does that mean? How sick is she? Nikolas: Well, Claudia, I certainly know you're not asking because you really care about Lulu, so just tell me what is going on? Claudia: Well, no, it's about my brother, ok? This is all about saving John, but, Nikolas, you have to understand something. If -- if Lulu was already cracking before she and Johnny made an escape, that could -- that could really help his case. And if she's too nuts to testify, even better. Nikolas: Well, then -- then your brother is in luck because my sister's very ill right now and getting worse by the minute. Does that make you happy? Claudia: No, of course not. Nikolas: You really want to know how she's doing? Claudia: Yeah. Nikolas: I'll tell you. She sees dead Logan just standing around everywhere with the knife still stuck in his gut. She's terrified that she's going to spend the rest of her life in a catatonic state. That's how she's doing. And you know what? It's not much of a stretch. Lulu: Hey, mom. I'm back. Maybe even permanently. I have a room right across the hall from you here at shady brook. [Lulu sighs] Lulu: We give new meaning to "like mother, like daughter," huh? I hate it here. Everything is so cold and sterile. I mean, the staff tries to be nice, but I know they're just waiting for me to flip out. It makes me nervous. The only good thing is that I'm close to you, so I can come see you and talk to you. It also kind of scares me because when I look at you, I see myself. What's it like? Are you at peace? Are you trapped inside of your mind, screaming right now to get out? Oh, Lucky, I'm so glad to see you. [Lucky sighs] Lulu: I hate it here. Lucky: I know, I know. It's going to be ok. Whatever it takes, we're going to get through this. Anna: Hello. [Robin gasps] Robin: When did you get back? Anna: Just now. I finally convinced the agency to give me this leave of absence I've been asking for, so - robin: Really? Anna: Here I am. And my plan is to stay here until the baby's born. Robin: Well, that's fantastic. Anna: Yeah? It's good, right? Robin: Yes. Anna: I think you might need me a little bit more than I first thought. Robin: Uh-oh. What -- why? Anna: Well, I don't know, um -- is that -- is that Leyla? You know, the one that had the affair with Patrick? Robin: Yeah, why? Anna: Ok, so I don't know, it's, um -- I don't know whether it's like the whole fatherhood thing or what, but I think Patrick might be sort of toying with going back in that direction. Robin: Why would you say that? Anna: Well, I witnessed this whole sort of bust-up between Patrick and some other doctor. And just because Patrick had kind of seen him, you know, hitting on Leyla -- and, I mean you would've thought that this poor guy had committed murder or something the way that Patrick laid into him. I mean, he accused him of sexual harassment and that he was going to report him, and -- and this is Patrick we're talking about here. You know what I mean? Robin: Yes, I know what you mean, but I think I know what's going on, so why don't we go to Kelly's -- I'm starving. We can get some lunch and I'll explain everything. Anna: All right. [Patrick sighs] Patrick: Hey, Leyla, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to intrude on your personal life there. Leyla: Oh, you have far more important things to worry about. Patrick: What do you mean? Leyla: I think Robin's mom overheard you get into that fight with Matt Hunter. And I have a sneaking suspicion she's off somewhere right now with robin, telling her that you're pursuing me again. Claudia: I'm sorry for being so insensitive and tunnel-visioned. I have not forgotten that you're going through a hell of your own. Nikolas: Yeah. It's -- I feel so helpless, again. The same way I did when my mother got sick. Claudia: That's the worst part, isn't it, for people like us. When somebody that you love so much is in such desperate trouble and there's absolutely nothing you can do to help them. It slapped me in the face today when I saw Johnny this morning. Nikolas: It's -- it's not the same, Claudia. Claudia: No, it's not the same, but it doesn't have to be the same. It doesn't have to be the same. Danger is danger, whether it's coming from inside Lulu's mind or from the legal system. Look, Lulu may be at shady brook, but at least she's surrounded by people who actually want to help her. I mean, where my brother is, he's surrounded by people who want to see him convicted of murder and spend the rest of his life in prison. Nikolas: Well, I'm going to do everything I can to make sure that doesn't happen because if John does get convicted, Lulu really will lose her mind. Claudia: Yeah. Nikolas: Ok? Now, you and I, we have to be on the same side with this. You understand? There's one fundamental thing here that hasn't changed. What's good for Lulu is good for John and vice versa. Claudia: I agree, I agree. Nikolas: Ok, so -- so we can work together? Claudia: Absolutely. All the way. Lucky: We're fine, thanks. You know, I'm not so sure going to see mom was such a great idea, at least not yet. And you really shouldn't leave your room without telling someone. Lulu: I needed to see her. I'm not used to checking in with, like, six different people. I feel like I'm going suffocate in here. Lucky: But you realize you're going to have to be here for a while. Lulu: Yeah, I guess. Lucky: Try and sound more reassuring. I need to know you're not going to try and take off again. Lulu: Without Johnny? Never. Lucky: You know, I was -- I was thinking about your situation and it feels familiar. Lulu: How so? Lucky: Well, it's not the same as me kicking pills, but there is a common thread. You have to let go. You need to start trusting strangers who may have a more realistic take on things than you do. All the people are in place to help you, Lulu -- Dr. Winters, the staff, me, Nikolas, Elizabeth, all the Quartermaines. All you have to do is let us. Hey. You think you can do that? Alexis: That won't be necessary. Johnny: I'm not about to start talking without my attorney present. Alexis: That's not a problem. I'll talk, you listen. I'd like you to meet my daughters. This one is Kristina and this one's molly. Johnny: Ok, so? Alexis: So you father has threatened to have them murdered if I don't get the charges against you dropped. See, I can't do that because they'll fire me and then someone else will pick up your prosecution right where I left off. I really need to know that you're following me on this. I really need you to understand that. [Knock at door] Cody: You wanted to see me? Jason: Yeah, come on in. Bernie says a lot of good things about you. Cody: Yeah? Glad to hear it. Jason: Yeah, so I -- I want to give you an additional assignment, one that utilizes more of your particular skills. Cody: I'm listening. Jason: Go back to shadowing Karpov. I want you to tell me where he goes, who he sees, and when he's most vulnerable. [Knock at door] Sasha: Mr. Morgan. I don't know if you remember me. My name is Sasha - Jason: I know who you are, Karpov's attorney. We'll have to finish up later. Sasha: I'm very happy to have this chance for a private conversation with you. Jason: About what? Sasha: Mr. Karpov wanted me to reassure you. He means no disruption to you or your organization. He wants to co-exist. Jason: Karpov already told me that. Why is he pushing so hard to convince me? Mike: Well, I hear that congratulations - Robin: Oh, no, I'm jut about to discuss something - Mike: Ah, it's ok. I'll leave you to it. Anna: I didn't mean to stick my nose into your business, you know? I mean, obviously, you know Patrick better than I do. It was just a hunch. Robin: It's not what you think. Patrick's sudden advocacy for women's rights has nothing to do with Leyla. Anna: Ok, well - Patrick: Hey. Anna: Oh, hi. Patrick: Whatever your mom thinks she saw was an illusion. I wasn't flirting with Leyla, I swear. Robin: I know, I know that. I was just about to explain to my mother why you're suddenly so sensitive to women. [Anna gasps] Anna: No! Do you know? Robin: Yes. Anna: Is it? Robin: Yes, we're having a girl. Anna: Oh, yes. Oh, my god. [Anna laughs] Nikolas: All right, thanks, Lucky. Bye. [Nikolas sighs] Nikolas: I can't take this anymore. Nadine: You all right? Nikolas: Oh, what do you want, Nadine? Nadine: I heard your sister was committed to Shadybrook. I thought you might need someone to talk to. Nikolas: No, no, I really don't, but thanks for making the trip. I'm fine, really. Nadine: Is that why you just killed your cell phone? Nikolas: You can leave now. You can leave now. Nadine: No. Nikolas: No? Nadine: I'm not leaving you alone in this state. Nikolas: Ok, you know what? I get it, I get it now. I get that you -- that you want to help me. I get that you have this little crush on me or whatever it is you want to call it. I get that you're a good person and that you want to save me, but you can't save me. You understand? And even if I were to be with you, in the end, you'd just end up hurt. Nadine: You can't choose for me. Nikolas: You got to be -- ok. Ok, fine. Fine. Is this what you really want? Scott: I'm going to give you "a" for effort, but it's not going to fly, not as long as I'm breathing. Lulu: What are you talking about? What are you doing here? Scott: I'm talking about faking crazy to stay out of court. I'm going to subpoena you and you're going to testify against your murdering boyfriend. And I think we'll just all enjoy the irony. Everything you guys did to bring Logan down. Your testimony is going to put Johnny away for the rest of his miserable, stinking life. Johnny: I'm not my father. He doesn't speak for me or take actions on my behalf, so if you've got a problem with it, take it to your friend Jerry Jacks or Sonny. You know, I hear that Jason's also a good one to pull in. Alexis: I don't want to start a mob war. I just want to keep my girls safe, and you can make that happen by simply doing the right thing. Johnny, confess. Confess that you killed Logan out of self-defense. You'll take your lumps for obstruction of justice and fleeing, and that's that. Look at them. Look at them. You want their deaths on your conscience? You want to wake up every day, knowing that they were murdered because of your father's failed attempt to get you released? Erase Anthony's initiative. Erase the possibility that he can get you freed. If anything happens to these girls, it's on you. Sasha: Port Charles is Mr. Karpov's first expansion into the states, so naturally, he wants it to go smoothly. He's already encountered one problem. His arrangement with Mr. Corinthos fell apart, so the last thing that Mr. Karpov wants is any tension with you. Jason: Tell Karpov he's got nothing to worry about. If he doesn't make a move against me, everything's - [Phone rings] Jason: Going to be fine. Excuse me. Yeah. Bernie's voice: The last two shipments got off safely. Jason: Good. What about the partners? Bernie's voice: They can wait for the sit-down at the playa, but they want to hear from you personally within the hour. Jason: All right. Uh, I'm in a meeting. I'll -- I'll call them when I'm done. Jason: What's this? Sasha: I don't always represent Mr. Karpov. Sometimes I represent my own interests. Sasha: I think you and I could find each other mutually beneficial.
