Monday--Part 2

[Door opens]

Sam: Uh, sorry. I -- I guess I caught you at a bad time. Then again, maybe there's no time like the present.

Sonny: You know what? If we're cursed, bring it on because that was amazing.

Kate: Mm-hmm.

Sonny: Yeah, well?

Kate: Well, I agree. But can you do me a favor?

Sonny: Yes.

Kate: Can you please not invite curses?

Sonny: Are you -- you're serious about this curse thing?

Kate: It's hard not to be with my heritage. Sonny, do you remember how many people were superstitious when we grew up?

Sonny: Like moose minucci's uncle dino when he used to sweep out his toy store?

Kate: Yes, exactly, always with a dustpan. He'd never push the dirt out the door because he didn't want to push -- sonny and

Kate: Out the luck.

Sonny: You know, remember -- I don't know if you know the cerullos. They would never say the name of an illness out loud. They would always whisper.

Kate: Well, if you say it out loud, it makes it so. But, you know, nonna falconeri, she was the worst. The worst. She had tons of superstitions. She had this mirror in her front room, apparently. It came with us when the family came from sicily. You know, it was her lucky looking glass. So anyway, one day, my cousin olivia and I, we were playing snow white. And before I could stop her, olivia took the mirror off of the wall, you know, to see who was the fairest of them all, and it fell and broke.

Sonny: What's wrong?

Scott: See, now, that's what I was saying. Your brother's a threat to everybody in this department, especially to me. So I'm sending him out to pentonville where he can cool down until his trial.

Claudia: You try it and you will find out firsthand what the zaccharas mean by retaliation.

Scott: What is he going to do, put a horse head in my bed? If I was you, I would focus on saying goodbye to your brother.

Claudia: Every time I think it can't possibly get any worse, you find a way to make it worse.

Johnny: I know. I'm sorry. I shouldn't have grabbed him like that.

Claudia: John, you think? What -- what happened? I mean, why was lulu freaking out? What was she screaming about?

Johnny: She's having a hard time getting over logan's death.

Claudia: Well --

Johnny: She sees things sometimes, all right? Visions.

Claudia: Yeah, nikolas told me about that. Yeah, but hearing about it and seeing it are two completely different things. Obviously, she's not faking. I'm a believer.

Johnny: Thank you for actually acknowledging that.

Claudia: Right, but the question is why. Why, johnny? Why is she so haunted, huh? What really happened the night that logan died?

Lainey: Lulu, we're not going to pressure you. If you want to talk about what happened, great. If you don't feel like it, that's fine, too.

Lucky: Lulu, if dr. Winters is going to help, she should know. Do you want me to tell her?

Lucky: Jason morgan thought it was a good idea -- thought it was a good idea to tell a member of your staff that he was her brother and then take her down to the pcpd.

Lainey: To see johnny.

Lucky: Yeah. Well, she was in the interrogation room with him and then she just started screaming. I'm not sure what set her off. I wasn't in the room, but I did hear her say that, "you're dead, stop torturing me." It was like she was seeing logan again. I just think it might be a good idea if you can just talk to her about what happened the night logan died.

[ Microwave beeping ]

Lainey: I understand you want to help your sister, but lulu needs to find her own way in her own time. There's no need to hurry. Lulu can talk about the night of logan's death when she's ready.

Lulu: There is nothing to talk about. Logan showed up at crimson. He wanted me back. I turned him away. He left and he was killed, and it's not johnny's fault, no matter what you believe.

Lucky: Lulu, I don't want to upset you. I'm just -- I'm just trying to help.

Lulu: Well, if you really mean that, you wouldn't have taken me away from johnny. I told you that I wanted to stay.

Lucky: Lulu, I was just afraid.

Lulu: No, just stop touching me! Leave me alone.

Lainey: Why don't I walk you out. Lulu, get some rest. Ll check on you later.

Lucky: She's getting worse, isn't she?

Lainey: I'm afraid so.

Johnny: You know what happened.

Johnny: I killed logan. And right afterwards, lulu walked in and saw him laying dead on the floor, knife sticking out of his belly. It's no wonder she hasn't been able to shake that image.

Claudia: Well, hey, you know, a dead guy with a knife sticking out of his belly -- that's a hard image to shake, but it's not enough to make you go crazy.

Johnny: Not you, claudia. Maybe not me. We grew up with violence our whole lives. It surrounded us. Lulu's different. She --

Claudia: You just -- you always have an excuse for her, always, john.

Trevor: What the hell is happening in here? All of a sudden, baldwin is emergency petitioning to have you transferred to pentonville?

Claudia: Hey, you know what? You better get it fixed. You better take care of it, trev.

Trevor: Well, I don't think i can.

Claudia: Well, then we need a better lawyer. How do I call ric?

Alexis: That was cryptic. Is there something that you want to tell me?

Jerry: Yes, sam, please enlighten us.

Sam: Oh, I'm -- I'm sorry. I just can't wrap my head around you voluntarily spending time with this man. Look, I was just in the neighborhood, and I wanted to talk. I guess I'll catch up with you later.

Alexis: Oh, sam, sam, don't -- go. Did I miss something?

Jerry: Such as?

Alexis: Is there something going on between you and sam?

Jerry: No, not really. Your daughter doesn't trust me, which I don't blame her for. I mean, I haven't given her reason to. I just have to resign myself to the fact that, you know, some relationships will always be denied to me. I can live with that as long as other desirable doors are left open.

Alexis: As lovely as this is, you have to go, and I have work to do.

Jerry: Oh, come on. I mean, consider me a restorative nap, right? Come on.

Alexis: Seriously, you have to go.

Jerry: Seriously?

Alexis: Seriously.

Jerry: All right, darling, if you insist. Do you want me to leave the food?

Alexis: Mm-hmm, I would appreciate that, thank you.

Jerry: Ok, well, I can't guarantee you I won't be back. Bye.

Alexis: Mmm.

Sonny: You all right?

Kate: Oh. Sorry, I just -- sometimes it hits me how much i miss my grandmother.

Sonny: Yeah, yeah, I know the feeling. What about the -- olivia and the broken mirror?

Kate: Nothing, it just -- it just explains how superstitious I am. That's all. You'll have to understand, olivia and I were just little girls. Adults were all-knowing. When nonna walked in and saw that broken mirror, she shrieked. She made us count every single shard of glass. There were 28 of them. We had to tie 28 bows of white ribbon around every mirror in the house. I just -- I haven't thought about that in a long time.

Sonny: Have you been in touch with olivia?

Kate: No.

Sonny: No?

Kate: No, I don't think I've talked to her since I was junior editor of "couture." I think that was the last time i went home. Well, there was that time you took me back.

Sonny: But you guys were great friends as kids, and --

Kate: No, not really. Actually, we were -- we were pretty competitive.

Sonny: Oh.

Kate: Olivia was a rebel, and i was the good girl. She thought that I didn't know how to live, said that I never would, said that I was humorless, said that I would never, ever catch a man.

Kate: I could -- I could go on. It really doesn't matter. If she could see me right now, I am about to marry the wildest, handsomest guy in the neighborhood. Volume's a little sexy.

Spinelli: You may notify stone cold of my battle with destiny, but please don't worry, my sweet granny.

Maxie: Does something hurt?

Spinelli: The jackal notices pain only to laugh in its face.

Maxie: Ok, I'm going to get you a doctor, a real one, ok?

Spinelli: No, no, no, no, please don't leave. The life-saving ones will return soon enough to poke and prod me, but please stay with me.

Maxie: Ok, don't -- don't worry, spinelli. Wild horses couldn't drag me away. It really scared me earlier when you were lying in that alley, pale and still. Not to be morbid, but people i love have this nasty habit of dying, and I just don't think i could take it if it happened to you.

Spinelli: Well, there's no need for a furrowed brow. The jackal won't leave this earthly plain as long as his fair maximista still resides here, too.

Maxie: You're so sweet.

Elizabeth: So as far as I can tell, dr. Hunter's doing an excellent job with spinelli. Why all the questions?

Matt: Come with me. I got mr. Spinelli's test results.

Maxie: What are you doing back here?

Matt: Mr. Spinelli, your spleen has ruptured. It'll have to come out. I need your consent to operate.

Nadine: Don't do it, spinelli.

Trevor: Richard can't help your defense because he's not here, and if he were, he would muck up the process anyway. So, like it or not, you are stuck with me.

Claudia: I don't like it. You are not the one who figured out how to get my father released. Ric is, right? Ric is the former district attorney who happens to wield considerable power over the current district attorney by virtue of the fact that they have a child together, so ric in charge of my brother's defense -- hmm, that works for me.

Johnny: My sister's got a point. You want to really help, trev? Give old ricky a call.

Trevor: [Laughing] Are you two living in a bubble? Richard doesn't give a damn about you or your defense, and you know why? He knew that you were in trouble, and what did he do? He gathered up little molly, and he split the light fantastic out of town on a father-daughter vacation, and he hasn't been heard from since, huh? And you can't even reach him in his cell phone, so I am going to defend you by myself.

Lulu: Mom, I'm really scared. It's just happening so much quicker now, and seeing logan every day, sometimes more than once a day, I just -- I can't help myself. I start screaming, and then there are times that I feel like I'm not going to stop. I feel like whatever is grounding me in the real world is stretched tight like a rubber band all the way to its limit. It would just be so easy, so quick, to snap it all the way, and then where would I be? Would I be where you are right now? Am I going to be in a hell of my own making?

Lulu: God. I wish you were here. I wish I just had somebody who could understand.

Kate: You're not going to stay?

Sonny: I'd love to, but, you know -- no offense -- I'm starving. You never have good food in the house.

Kate: Well, maybe I'm changing.

Sonny: Yeah?

Kate: Maybe my new life as a newly engaged woman is releasing my inner domestic goddess.

Sonny: Well, yeah, as far as the goddess, I believe that, but all the other stuff, I don't know, you know?

Kate: I'm going to make you eat those smug words, along with the delicious snack I'm about to prepare with my own two hands.

Sonny: Oh, please, you're kidding me.

Kate: Oh, no, you sit tight. You prepare to be impressed.

Sonny: Oh, ok. I am impressed.

Kate: Don't --

Sonny: You are in charge.

Sonny: Yeah, could I have bensonhurst, gloria cerullo?

Sonny: Hi, mrs. Cerullo. It's sonny. Michael corinthos, yeah. How you doing? Listen, how you been? And how's lois? Some things never change. That's kind of the reason I'm calling. Listen, I need to ask you a big favor.

Nadine: Let me page dr. Drake. Either one, or dr. Behar or anyone else on staff tonight, because spleen removal is a very common procedure. You don't need a specialist. In fact, any one of us nurses could probably do it, so just pick an option, any option, just not dr. Hunter.

Matt: Nurse crowell, really, that is more than enough. Come over here, please, for a second. Your paranoia has stepped over the line. Don't you dare ever question my professionalism in front of a patient. Now, despite nurse crowell's opinion, I'm a highly qualified surgeon, certainly the best that's wandering the halls here tonight. Dr. Drake is off duty, and behar is on a cruise, so I am the best shot that you've got.

Maxie: Well, what would happen if we waited until patrick was back?

Matt: No, mr. Spinelli needs this operation now, unless you feel lucky enough to risk serious complications.

Maxie: Elizabeth, I obviously don't trust this guy, and i don't know these other nurses very well. I know you and I have had issues, but you're an honorable person, and you wouldn't lie about a patient. Is he right? Would it hurt spinelli if we wait?

Elizabeth: He's bleeding internally and in a lot of pain. You'll be putting him at risk if you wait. And if it helps, I've seen him in the O.R, and he's a pretty good surgeon. You know, we should do the procedure now.

Matt: Ok, so, this is ridiculous. I'm going to scrub.

Maxie: Oh, well, spinelli didn't give you his consent yet. Spinelli, what do you want to do?

Spinelli: Well, the jackal's cognitive skills are a bit blurred due to, well, being hit by a car, but he trusts fair maximista to make the right choice. My life is happily resting in your lovely hands.

Alexis: Well, what do we have here?

Claudia: I can explain.

Alexis: No need. It's clearly breaking and entering and evidence tampering, and I'm going to love every minute of having you arrested for it.

Lulu: I saw johnny today. And, for a split second, while i was holding his hand and I was listening to him tell me that everything was going to be ok, I believed him. For one beautiful moment, I could see it -- our future, being happy. And then logan came. He wants me to pay, and he's not going to stop until I lose my mind. He's going to get what he always wants. He's going to win.

Laura: Lulu, it's going to be all right.

Laura: Mama's here.
