P4P
Sam: This is odd. Jerry Jacks, alone in the clinic after hours. You want to tell me what this is all about?
Jerry: What a coincidence. I was going to ask the same thing about you.
Sam: You first. Why are you here?
Jerry: Well, oddly enough, your mother.
Jason: You looking for something?
Maxie: You know, you really shouldn't sneak up on your house guests. It's rude.
Jason: Why were you looking through the closet?
Maxie: I, uh -- it's chilly upstairs. You might not have noticed because you're practically cold-blooded. But I wanted Spinelli to be comfortable, so I came down to get him another blanket.
Jason: Why don't you try being honest for once?
Maxie: I mentioned earlier about Karpov's people being behind Spinelli's hit-and-run and you got upset and left to do mysterious mob business. I heard on the news two Russian guys got beat up and --
Jason: And what?
Maxie: I wanted to see if your gun had been fired.
Jason: What if it had? Carly: I'm standing here and I'm trying to explain to you what happened, but these explanations just sound like excuses. And there's no excuse for what -- there's no excuse for me having sex with Sonny. And I have nothing to say in my defense. I'm just so sorry. I'm so sorry, Jax. And I love you so much. I love you with all my heart, and I just pray that you still love me. You're the only man that I want. You're the only man that I ever want. Just, please, let this be where we start over.
Jax: I waited such a long time for this, to know that you love only me, to know that you're truly committed to this marriage.
Carly: Do you believe me?
Jax: Yeah, I do.
Sonny: Claudia? You okay? Hey, can you hear me?
[Claudia groans]
Claudia: What the hell?
Sonny: You okay?
Claudia: What -- what happened? What were we do -- my God. Oh, you were driving like a maniac.
Sonny: No, I think what happened is you took a wide turn.
Claudia: Well, you were practically in my lane.
Sonny: Okay, well --
Claudia: Oh -- oh, my God.
Johnny: I asked to speak to Nikolas.
Lucky: Yeah, well whatever you want, you can't play on my brother's sympathy to get it.
Johnny: Where is he?
Lucky: He's in lockup.
Johnny: What happened?
Lucky: This trial is what happened. Scott Baldwin, he's out for blood. He doesn't give a damn about Lulu, and he's going to make you pay for murdering his son. Nikolas, he lost his mind and he punched Baldwin, so he got arrested. So whatever you planned on telling him, you're going to have to tell me instead.
Johnny: No, thanks.
Lucky: Yeah, because I'm a cop, or because I'm a brother who realizes how bad you are for my sister?
Johnny: You have no idea what I've done for your sister.
Lucky: Oh, sure I do. You're the reason she lost her mind.
Lulu: Mom?
Laura: Oh, Lulu, is that you, honey?
Lulu: Yeah, I'm sorry, I know it's late.
Laura: Oh, that's okay. Come on in. Turn on the lights.
Lulu: Are you sure this is okay?
Laura: Yes, it's all right. I was awake a lot, too. I was thinking about you.
Lulu: I just can't even believe that this is happening, that you are here.
Laura: It was a very hard day for you. There have been so many times when I haven't been able to be there for you. I really want to help you now.
Lulu: Well, that's the thing. I just -- I don't even know if you can.
Laura: Mm, I can do this. There you go.
Maxie: Obviously, I didn't have enough time to find your gun. And even if it had been fired, I wouldn't do anything.
Jason: Then why go looking for it?
Maxie: Because I'm curious like that. I have a problem. I think people are really interesting and full of surprises. Like you -- I mean, who knew that you had a designer suit? That's really nice fabric --
Jason: Don't touch my stuff.
Maxie: Okay. I'm kind of nosy. I'm sure you have a whole arsenal full of weapons, and I don't even want to think about what you do with those. That's another problem. I have an extremely active imagination. Feel free to say anything, anything you want.
Jason: You're the police commissioner's daughter. Can you see how it compromises me to have you in my house?
Maxie: But I would never give my dad any information about you. Or to another cop, or anything like that.
Jason: Not intentionally.
Maxie: Look, Spinelli worships you, okay? If something happened to you because of me, he would be wrecked. He'd end up blaming himself. And no matter what I would say, that wouldn't change it. So bottom line, my lips are sealed, okay?
Jason: It would wreck Spinelli if something happened to you.
Maxie: Do you think you could clarify that for me?
Sam: Why would you come to this clinic because of my mother?
Jerry: Before I submit to this interrogation, what is the reason for your nocturnal visit?
Sam: Oh, me, yeah. See, Nikolas is my cousin and he normally works late, so I was coming by to see how everything was going.
Jerry: Oh, how considerate.
Sam: Sure. Back to you, Jerry. What does my mother have to do with this clinic?
Jerry: Well, according to my sources, a new shipment of counterfeit drugs is expected in Port Charles shortly.
Sam: Okay, why don't you just call the police?
Jerry: I'd rather handle it in a more, shall we say, self-serving way? You see, I came here to warn Nikolas so he in turn could put in a good word for me with Alexis. But since you're here, I'd be very glad if you could pass on the message. That would be great.
Sam: So, wait a minute. You want me to think, what, that my mother's reforming you?
Jerry: No, I want Alexis to believe it.
Sam: Well, you know, I don't think that Nikolas is going to say anything nice about you to my mother. Besides, he's not here. So maybe it is time for you to go.
Jerry: Well, I just arrived here moments before you did. And since this conversation is becoming both tedious and counterproductive, I think there's no reason for us to stay here, so --
Sam: Great, go. I mean, you can go. I'm actually going to write Nikolas a little note.
Jerry: No, no, no. I mean, this part of town, you know -- the crime rate is abominable. I wouldn't dream of leaving you by yourself, no.
Sam: I'll be fine, thank you.
Jerry: No, no, no. You're alone and I assume, unarmed. You know, you can call your cousin in the morning. I'll drive you home. I'm not leaving you.
Sam: Fine.
Carly: If we're committed to getting past this and working on our marriage, we can do it, Jax. We can make it work.
Jax: You know, Carly, I thought that this marriage would last forever. I really did. That I'd be a father to Morgan and we'd have children of our own and we'd grow old together, but that requires trust.
Carly: I will earn your trust.
Jax: Every time you slept with Sonny, it was like a knife through my heart. And you said that it wouldn't happen again, and I took you at your word.
Carly: It will never, never happen again.
Jax: You're right, it won't, because it won't be cheating because we won't be married.
Carly: I will be faithful to you for the rest of our lives. You just tell me what I can say or do to prove that to you.
Jax: I'm sorry.
Carly: I'm sorry. I just keep going over and over in my head every single thing that lead up to that moment and -- you wanted to drive me to the institution and bring me home and I should have said yes.
[Jax sighs]
Carly: I should have let you console me and I should have never been alone with Sonny at a time with such grief. And when we turned to each other, I should have just said no and I should have considered the fallout.
Jax: Yeah, but you didn't.
Carly: No, I didn't. I should -- I should have said no out of respect for you and for us and our wedding vows and I didn't and I --
Jax: Don't torture yourself. Don't torture yourself with the "should haves" and "what ifs." I know that you regret it. I -- I do.
Carly: Then, please, Jax, let me make this up to you. Please.
Jax: No, Carly, it's over. I hope with time I find a way to stop loving you.
Operator's voice: All systems are busy. Please hold and an operator will be with you shortly.
Sonny: Damn, I can't get through to 911.
Claudia: Just keep trying, okay?
Sonny: Look, you need help, so I'm going to call my people.
Claudia: You don't -- you don't have people anymore. You quit the mafia, remember?
Sonny: I will call Max and Milo. They will get you out of here.
Claudia: Look, um, I don't know what's wrong with me. I can't -- I can't feel my legs. Maybe I'm in shock or maybe my back is broken. I don't want to end up paralyzed, so could you please just keep trying to call 911?
Sonny: Yeah, yeah, we'll get them.
Jason: You think you're helping Spinelli? You're doing the opposite.
Maxie: This is so unfair.
Jason: He tells you things he shouldn't tell you. You go on stakeouts with him. You barge in here with your crazy cover-up stories when he's getting in trouble.
Maxie: Don't even think about criticizing me for that. If I hadn't barged in and told Karpov's lawyers that me and Spinelli were having kinky waterfront sex, they would have pulled his arms out of his sockets.
Jason: That was a risk Spinelli chose to take he shouldn't have.
Maxie: Trying to impress you.
Jason: Or you.
Maxie: Please. Spinelli thinks that you are the coolest guy on the face of the planet. He's constantly trying to impress you by acting way tougher than he actually is, throwing himself into danger --
Jason: Yeah, and you follow him.
Maxie: Because I don't want him to get hurt.
Jason: What do you think it would do to Spinelli if you get hurt trying to help him? You really need to stop. You're only making things worse.
Carly: Jax, we love each other. Please, give me one more chance.
Jax: No, I'd only be setting us up to fail.
Carly: We wouldn't fail. I love you so much and I will make you so happy.
Jax: You know, I didn't realize it until now, but this is why I kept running away. I didn't want to invest too much because I knew that this day was coming. That one day you'd push me too far and I would have to leave.
Carly: This day can come and go like any other. You have the power to decide that.
Jax: Yeah. When Kate told me that you slept with Sonny, something died inside of me.
Carly: Don't -- don't say that.
Jax: No, you hurt me more than I ever thought possible, Carly. It's over.
Sam: Okay, here I am, home safe and sound.
Jerry: A beautiful woman such as yourself shouldn't be wandering about in this part of town, even one as capable as you.
Sam: I suppose this is where I'm supposed to tell my mother how gallant you've been.
Jerry: Oh, it would be much simpler for you and for me if only I were using Alexis.
Sam: But you're not, of course. I think it's just a wild coincidence that she happens to be the D.A.
Jerry: Well, considering my unsavory past, it does come in handy, doesn't it?
Sam: But it's never crossed your mind?
Jerry: Oh, it has. Many times. The only problem is, I genuinely care about Alexis. I've tried not to, but there you have it. Maybe I should do something like -- uncharacteristically noble, like finding a way to make her hate me. What do you think?
Sam: If there's any way you need me to move that along, you just let me know.
Jerry: You know what? You might be even more useful than you realize, darling.
Johnny: I gave up my freedom for your sister, you know that? Hmm? I could be across the border by now, but I took her to Shadybrook instead because she needed help.
Lucky: She wouldn't have needed to be there at all if it weren't for you.
Johnny: I didn't want her involved in this mess.
Lucky: I warned you the day I found you in your garden shed that she was too fragile and couldn't handle the mayhem in your life.
Johnny: So I screwed up! Now I'm trying to fix it.
Lucky: You're the reason Lulu's this way. And I have no sympathy to spare.
Johnny: Then find some sympathy for your sister, Lucky. The only person who can help her is Nikolas, so let me talk to him.
Sonny: How you doing?
Claudia: Well, I can feel my legs a little bit, but it hurts like hell.
Sonny: All right, I'm going to try 911 again.
Operator's voice: 911, what's your emergency?
Sonny: Yeah, we've had a car crash, um, on, um, Skyline Drive past the intersection of Valley Road. And the thing is, the person in the other car is badly hurt. Yeah, she could be internally bleeding, I think, so you need to get here as soon as you can. Bye. You smell that? That's gas. Come on.
Claudia: Get me out.
Jax: I don't want to hurt you anymore.
Carly: You just want to leave.
Jax: Yeah. I'm sorry.
Carly: Well, I want you to know that, um, loving you has been the happiest time of my life. I guess that was the problem, you know? I didn't really know what to do with something good, so I just wrecked it.
Jax: Good-bye.
Carly: Jax --
Jax: Carly. You know, maybe -- maybe you'll find someone some day, and maybe I will, too.
Carly: I love you.
Jason: When Spinelli is in danger and you go in after him, you're just telling him you don't think he can handle it on his own.
Maxie: So I should wait for Spinelli to be injured or killed?
Jason: No, I'm just saying that he does not want you to save him, but you do it anyway.
Maxie: I respect Spinelli's ambition to be a tough guy, even though I think it's a waste. Spinelli is brilliant. So why not let you be the one to be shot at or run over by a car? For some weird reason, I actually think you like it.
Jason: Great, great. Have you told Spinelli this stuff?
Maxie: Of course, but he's fixated on being just like you. Always wanting to be thrown into danger, having to act so tough. Speaking of, don't you think it's time maybe you show Spinelli some tricks or something?
Jason: What do you mean, tricks?
Maxie: You know, danger dude stuff like hand-to-hand combat or karate?
Jason: I'm not going to teach Spinelli martial arts.
Maxie: Why not? You're street smart, Spinelli isn't. I mean, you need to give him tools so he can protect himself.
Jason: When did this become about me?
Maxie: Don't be so egocentric. It's about me. I have to make sure Spinelli's okay. I need him around. I don't know what I would do if he wasn't. I --
Jason: You what?
Lucky: Hey, I don't want to risk blowing our cover, but I just needed to see you.
Sam: What's wrong?
Lucky: Johnny Zacchara. He wants to see Nikolas.
Sam: Why?
Lucky: He didn't say. Something about helping Lulu.
Sam: Okay, so what, did you arrange it?
Lucky: You know, I just want to trust that Nikolas will not do anything that's going to hurt Lulu.
Sam: No, no, no. Come on, Nikolas loves Lulu as much as you do.
Lucky: I know, I know, but Nikolas has this messed up idea that Johnny can save Lulu when he's the only reason that she's losing her mind.
