Robin: Any changes in Dr. Hunter's condition?
Patrick: No, not yet. He's got a long road ahead of him, too. Pain management, multiple surgeries for skin grafts.
Robin: And head trauma, too?
Patrick: I'm only supposed to be consulting on this case, but it's hard to be objective. Every time I look at him, i just see myself.
Jax: What happened to the staff managers meeting?
Marty: It was pushed back.
Jax: By whom?
Carly: By me. We should talk.
Maxie: Spinelli, I know you mean well, but this idea could seriously crash and burn.
Spinelli: The valkyrie is most distressed over the recent dissolution of her marriage. I'm -- I'm just trying to elevate her spirits with -- by providing a prospective suitor.
Maxie: Online?
Spinelli: This website guarantees matches via 25 potential points of compatibility.
Maxie: Well, if physical attraction isn't one of them, the rest are a waste of time.
Spinelli: Does maximista believe romance can't blossom between two individuals that begin as friends?
Maxie: Spinelli, sexual compatibility is so important. How can you get that from an online dating service?
Jason: Ok, you're -- you're not signing me up on a dating service.
Johnny: Lulu.
Lulu: Johnny!
Anthony: You missed breakfast. What's the matter? You don't want to have a meal with me?
Claudia: I think a little distance between us is healthy, daddy. Don't you?
Anthony: Nonsense. We're one big happy family again. Johnny is a free man. We're back to business as usual.
Claudia: Which would be my cue to leave the room.
Anthony: Not this time. I got plans for you, claudia.
Claudia: What sort of "plans" do you have in store for me, daddy?
Anthony: I watched you lie through your teeth up there on the witness stand. You were good. You saved johnny. For your own reasons, I'm sure, but I'm still grateful.
Claudia: Well, I didn't do it for you. I did it for johnny.
Anthony: We're a family, claudia. What benefits one, benefits all of us. By saving your brother, you did the whole family a great service, and you'll be rewarded.
Claudia: I don't want your reward.
Anthony: Don't be so hasty. Ah, the gang's all here, the brilliant attorney and his worthless father. Lady and gents, it's time to shake this town up.
Lulu: You're free. I can't even believe it.
Johnny: I was so worried about you.
Lulu: I just needed to know that you're ok, and you are. I'm sorry that I went to pieces on the stand.
Johnny: It's over.
Lulu: I just thought that i could save you, and I made everything worse.
Johnny: The jury believed claudia when she said that i killed logan in self-defense.
Lulu: I know. Nikolas told me, and I am not a big fan of your sister, but she showed how much she loves you.
Johnny: She was great. She convinced the jury that i was only trying to protect her, and, as far as anyone else knows, you were never there.
Lulu: You took such a big chance for me.
Johnny: And it paid off. Now we need to focus on getting you better.
Lulu: I already am. I can feel it. Thanks to my mom.
Johnny: Your mom?
Maxie: Signing you up for online dating? That would be interesting.
Jason: Ok, before this gets out of control, like my nonexistent affair with karpov's attorney, you both need to understand that my personal life is off limits.
Spinelli: Ok, with all due respect, stone cold, this actually doesn't --
Maxie: Jason, the world doesn't revolve around you. Not that it would do any good signing you up for online dating. I mean, what would we list as your hobbies? "Cleans guns" and "shoots people"? If you want to be miserable and alone for the rest of your life, that's your problem. Spinelli and I, we're going help out someone who would be a little more appreciative.
Jason: Who?
Maxie: Carly.
Nikolas: Hey, you're awake.
Nadine: I just woke up a minute ago, right before you.
Nikolas: How are you feeling?
Nadine: Could have been worse. I could have been fried and served for dinner. Aunt rayleen used to say that about chickens on a hot day. Never mind.
[Laughs and coughs]
Nadine: I must be on some serious pain meds or something.
Nikolas: I'm just glad you're ok.
Nadine: How could I not be? You dragged me from under a collapsed ceiling through a raging fire, held my hand through my crying jag, and then apparently stayed the night. Talk about your full-service hero.
Nikolas: Yeah. Well, you know, you're -- you're important to me.
Nadine: I'm glad you think so. Or - I mean -- that -- well -- it -- I appreciate that.
Nikolas: It's ok. You're welcome.
Alexis: I want you to talk to forensics and the fire marshall, because I want to find out how that clinic burned.
Lucky: Nikolas worked very hard to get that built so he could help people in emily's name.
Alexis: All the more reason why he didn't cut corners. I doubt that they're going to find any evidence of an electrical fire.
Lucky: Well, we're looking into arson, all right? I just don't understand why anybody would want to burn down a free clinic.
Alexis: Neither can I, but he's had clashes with the mayor and the damn hmo'S. It could be sabotage.
[Knock at door]
Alexis: Hey.
Sam: Hi.
Alexis: Hi.
Lucky: I'll get right on it.
Alexis: Ok I take it you haven't worked things out with him.
Sam: No, no. You know what? It's probably for the best anyway.
Alexis: I'm sorry. I really am. Do you miss him?
Sam: I guess. I mean, maybe, a little bit. But you know what? In all honesty, I think he's probably better off with an uncomplicated woman like elizabeth.
Alexis: As opposed to you?
Sam: You know what, mom? Sometimes you don't realize how destructive a relationship is until you're out of it.
Robin: I'm a bit surprised with your sudden empathy for dr. Hunter. You never noticed him before, except to fight with him.
Patrick: He's egocentric, arrogant, way too impressed with his own brilliance.
Robin: Sounds like somebody else I know.
Patrick: He's competitive. He lacks people skills, and he pushes the envelope just to prove how good he is.
Robin: Which is exactly like you -- when we first met, of course.
Patrick: You know, if it was me in there with multiple burns, possible head trauma, not sure what kind of recovery I'd make, and putting my surgical career on the line --
Robin: What?
Patrick: I don't know if I'd want to recover.
Jason: The last thing carly needs is a bunch of strangers coming on to her over the internet.
Maxie: I think you know nothing about women.
Spinelli: Actually, stone cold is quite knowledgeable on the subject of the distaff gender.
Maxie and Jason: The what?
Spinelli: Women. They're drawn to stone cold like moths to a flame.
Maxie: So, he's hot, but he doesn't know what women feel or want.
Jason: Ok, this -- this is about carly.
Maxie: Yeah, and when a woman has had her heart stomped on, nothing makes her feel better than some hot, eligible men hitting on her.
Spinelli: Not to rule out males with a more steadfast, you know, nature with loyalty and intelligence, if somewhat substandard physical prowess.
Maxie: This would be good for carly.
Jason: No, it wouldn'T.
Maxie: Do you think you could rustle up some support for your friend spinelli?
Jason: Ok, how -- how am I not supporting spinelli?
Maxie: Well, this whole internet dating thing was his idea.
Spinelli: If stone cold thinks it's detrimental --
Maxie: I was a little iffy about it at first, but now I'm thinking, hey, can't be that bad.
Jason: Ok, you've got to understand that when carly is going through something like this, she can make some crazy choices. She could hook up with some guy who's a psycho or abusive. Think.
Spinelli: I just -- I wanted to aid the heartbroken valkyrie, not place her in jeopardy.
Jason: Good. Maybe you can find some other way to help her.
Maxie: Don'T. Who put you in charge of anyone's dating life?
Jax: Marty, could you give us a second?
Marty: Sure.
Jax: I thought I made myself pretty clear at the hospital.
Carly: Yeah, you wanted jerry to take you home. It hurt, but I didn't fight you on it, ok?
Jax: Then please accept that our marriage is over.
Carly: I realize that I trashed what we had, and if I could take it back, I would.
Jax: Carly, talking about it only makes it hurt more for both of us.
Carly: Well, you know what? We co-own two hotels together, this one and the one in montreal. Like it or not, our lives intersect. We have to find a way to deal with each other.
Max: Poor mrs. C. I mean, carly. She's really hurting bad right now.
Diane: All of this could have been avoided if you had simply told kate that sonny and carly had had sex when I suggested you do so.
Max: It wasn't my place to tell her.
Diane: You're implication being that it also wasn't mine?
Max: Ok, it wasn't, and if you wouldn't have pushed it, we wouldn't have been talking about it. And if we wouldn't have been talking about, clarice would have never over heard us, opened up her big mouth to kate, and nobody would have been the wiser right now.
Nikolas: When will the doctor be in to check up on her?
Elizabeth: Dr. Fox just started his rounds. Your vitals look good, but how are you feeling?
Nadine: A little tired, but I'm ok.
Nikolas: Will she need any more -- any more tests or anything like that?
Elizabeth: Well, that's for the doctor to decide. Don't worry. She's doing well.
Nikolas: Thanks. I'm sorry. I shouldn't have jumped in like that. You're perfectly capable of asking your own questions.
Nadine: Well, it's kind of nice to be fussed over. So, feel free.
Nikolas: Oh, well, ok. If you insist, let me just --
[Nadine laughs]
Nadine: Thank you.
Jerry: Sorry to intrude.
Nikolas: What do you want?
Jerry: Well, I've heard about the news of -- about the fire, and it must have been terrifying.
Nadine: Nikolas pulled me out before I got burned.
Jerry: Oh, that's good. I'm pleased to hear it.
Nikolas: I'm sorry, you don't even know her. Why would you come here to check up on her?
Jerry: Well, truth be told, i feel rather guilty. I -- I'm -- I just hope the fire is not tied to the fact that i gave you information about the prospective shipment of counterfeit drugs.
Nikolas: Do you suspect someone?
Jerry: No, no, nothing
Nikolas: What do you ws good. I'm pleased to hear it.
Nikolas: I'm sorry, you don't gave you information about the prospective shipment of counterfeit drugs.
Jerry: No, no, nothing concrete, but it's not unheard of for an arsonist to get caught in his own fire.
Nikolas: If you're suggesting that she had something to do with this --
Jerry: No, no, no. I assumed there were other people in the clinic. I mean, did anyone else have a reason to be there?Re suggesting that she had something to do with this --
Jerry: No, no, no. I assumed there were other people in the clinic. I mean, did anyone else have a reason to be there? Suggesting that she had something to do with this --
Jerry: No, no, no. I assumed there were other people in the clinic. I mean, did anyone else have a reason to be there?
Robin: You were called to consult on the case, not take it over.
Patrick: Someone's got to make decisions on his treatment.
Robin: I assume the family's been notified?
Patrick: Yeah, they went over his records when he was admitted, and there is no next of kin.
Robin: No family at all?
Patrick: No. It says "mother's deceased," and he didn't list any other family members.
Robin: Hmm. We'll have to wait until he wakes up to get the information.
Patrick: I would rather not. He's in bad shape now. He's only going to get worse.
Robin: I might know someone that could help.
Anna: Hello.
Noah: Hey.
Anna: Wow, how are you? Well, it's good to see you.
Noah: You look beautiful, as usual.
Anna: Thank you. When did you get back?
Noah: About an hour ago.
Anna: All right. Well, doctors without borders is very lucky to have you. So, where were you this time?
Noah: Myanmar. Want to sit down?
Anna: Sure.
Noah: There was a cyclone that flattened everything. It was unbelievable, unbelievable. I was really happy to be there to help, but I'm real glad to be home. Any fireworks while I was gone?
Anna: Oh, where to start? There was a marriage proposal here, a speedy refusal, and then this sort of internet campaign, which ended very abruptly when robin thought that maybe she was going into labor.
Noah: Is the baby all right?
Anna: Yeah, yeah, fine. It was a false alarm. Our granddaughter is going to arrive right on time.
Noah: Wow. I know patrick sent me an email that it was going to be a little girl, that's just -- it's so great.
Anna: It is.
Noah: I mean, he'll find his own way as a parent, you know?
Anna: Yeah. I mean, they both will. Robin is very excited to be a mom, but let's face it, she doesn't have a clue about what's coming.
Noah: Yeah.
Anna: I mean, you know, it's sort of better that way, because then they don't have any preconceived ideas, right?
Noah: Yeah, I was kind of worried that they'd have a boy and history would repeat itself, you know? Patrick would, you know, damage his son's childhood the way i damaged patrick'S.
Maxie: You're bullying spinelli into thinking he's making a horrible mistake.
Jason: You -- what are you talking about? I just told him not to sign carly up on an online dating service.
Maxie: Who says you get to dictate what spinelli does or doesn't do for carly?
Spinelli: Maximista need not rally to the jackal's defense so vociferously.
Maxie: I'll be as vociferous as I please. Just because spinelli and carly put up with you, doesn't mean you get to dictate their love lives.
Jason: Ok, fine. If you guys are determined to do this, talk to carly. Don't do it behind her back.
Spinelli: That is a suggestion worth contemplation.
Jason: And please do it somewhere else. I have an appointment.
Maxie: Fine. We're going, and you need to get a handle on your control issues.
Spinelli: The jackal is somewhat confused. Are -- are we still planning to continue aiding the valkyrie?
Maxie: Yeah, and while we're on one venture, why don't we make it a two-for? I say we sign up mr. Socially challenged for the dating site also.
Spinelli: Maximista courts disaster.
Maxie: Oh, come on, spinelli. We're not going to use jason's real name. We'll just use his stats. I mean, I have to see if he's even compatible with one person.
Marty: The painting contractor insisted on both your signatures.
Jax: That's ok, marty. Thanks for taking care of it.
Carly: Was that so bad?
Jax: Truthfully? Yes. This hotel and the one in montreal are constant reminders of the life that we planned together.
Carly: We can still be amicable. We've always worked well together, you know? We'll just keep it strictly business, nothing else.
Jax: Well, I'm not sure I can.
Carly: Don't force me out. I love this hotel. We have rebuilt it, and it is doing great.
Jax: I'm very proud of what we've both accomplished with it. As for the future of it --
Carly: What are you going to do, jax?
Jax: I don't know. I -- the managers meeting is in an hour. If you don't mind, I'll let you take it.
Diane: So your position on infidelity is that it doesn't count if you don't get caught?
Max: That isn't what I meant.
Diane: I'm so sorry. What is it exactly that you meant?
Max: That mr. And mrs. C don't really count, because they were married before.
Diane: I see. So, exes can feel free to sleep together, regardless of the fact that they are currently married or engaged to other people?
Max: Mr. And mrs. C have a unique thing. Plus, they were grief-stricken over michael. They weren't thinking straight.
Diane: Oh, so many excuses for their blatant infidelity.
Max: Ok. You know what? Kate's your friend. I get that you're protective of her, ok? But it just happened once.
Diane: So that's the reason it doesn't count? Tell me, max -- have you cheated on me just once?
Max: I mean, how could I cheat on you when we're just in a "casual" relationship?
Diane: So you have cheated on me, and it's my use of semantics that now makes it my fault?
Max: No.
Diane: Ok, this is what I have to say to you. Kate howard may have a better wardrobe, but I've got a better backbone. And you will never have the opportunity to cheat on me again. You and I are through.
Alexis: Look, I told you I'm not going to comment on scott baldwin's tactics during the zacchara trial. The jury reached a verdict. Justice has been done. That's what I'll comment on. That's it. It's a feeding frenzy since they found john zacchara not guilty.
Sam: Yeah, look, I was hoping to talk to you about jerry.
Alexis: I appreciate your concern, and I want you to know that I don't take your warning lightly.
Sam: But you're still seeing him?
Alexis: I'm very well aware of his moral deficiencies. What we have in common is his devotion to his brother.
Sam: No, look -- I think you're really looking for redeeming qualities because you're still sleeping with the guy.
Alexis: Ok, you know what? It's really weird to talk about my having sex with you.
Sam: I know it is. I'm sorry. I don't want you to get hurt, and I think jerry is capable of far worse than you realize.
Alexis: My eyes are wide open. Sam, I assure you, ok? I don't want to be abrupt. I am swamped here. It's not just the zacchara trial. It's just that we think that the fire at the clinic may have been arson. We're not sure of a motive.
Sam: Yeah, whatever. No problem. I am sorry to bother you.
Alexis: You're not bothering me. Ever, ok? I want you to come for dinner. Will you do that? Please, kristina and molly miss you.
Sam: Wow, yeah. I mean, sure, I'll -- I'll call you later.
Alexis: Good.
Sam: Good. Bye.
Alexis: Bye.
Lucky: So, how did it go? Did you tell alexis that you suspect jerry of starting the fire at the clinic?
Sam: No. I could not tell her. So, meet me later and I'll explain.
Lulu: Well, I -- I -- I sit with my mom and I -- I talk to her. I've told her about you and how we went to new york and I lost my mind and you took me here.
Johnny: It helps to tell your mom?
Lulu: Saying it out loud makes me think about how wonderful you've been, and I know she would feel the same way. She would want to thank you if she could.
Johnny: Lulu, everything that's happened to you, even you being here, is because of me.
Lulu: Yeah, but that's over, and now we have all the time in the world. How did we get so lucky?
Johnny: How did I get so lucky? You know, I took that wrong turn on lookout road and saw you hitching. I can't believe it. It seems like it was yesterday, but it wasn'T. It was --
Lulu: A year ago.
Johnny: Today.
Lulu: What? Oh my gosh. How'd you remember?
Johnny: How could I forget? Open it.
Lulu:
[Gasps] Oh, wow.
Johnny: Happy anniversary, lulu.
Lulu: Happy anniversary.
Anthony: Ric, you did a fine job saving johnny. You were eloquent, persuasive, and quick on your feet. All excellent qualities in attorneys. I'm giving you a lot more responsibility around here.
Ric: Thank you, anthony. I appreciate that.
Anthony: You're uncharacteristically quiet. What? You got nothing to say?
Trevor: Why bother? You get some kind of sadistic pleasure rubbing my nose in richard's questionable success?
Anthony: If it had been up to you, my son would be on his way to a lethal injection.
Trevor: Oh, we'll never know now. I never got the chance to defend him.
Anthony: Nobody likes a whiner, trevor.
Claudia: There's no way you could have pulled off what ric did.
Trevor: What? Put you on the stand, let you lie, and make it seem like it was real testimony? Any idiot lawyer could have done that.
Ric: Shame you didn'T.
Trevor: Oh, richie, come on. Don't be a hypocrite. Tell your daddy the truth. You were desperate. I'll bet it wasn't even your idea. So you suborned perjury.
Anthony: Whatever you call it, johnny is a free man, and as a reward, I'm giving ric and you more power.
Claudia: Me?
Anthony: On a limited basis, with ric to keep an eye on you. I'm going to let you participate in the family business.
[Claudia laughs]
Trevor: You'd better get somebody else to keep an eye on richie or you're going to be the one to whine.
