Anthony: Oh, Miss Jones, what a pleasant surprise.

Maxie: I told that stupid guard at the front that I wanted to see Johnny, not you.

Anthony: Well, it's my house, so I decide who Johnny gets to see.

Maxie: Is he here?

Anthony: What do you think about my roses? You know, I built a greenhouse after the fire. I would love to give you a tour some time.

Maxie: I don't have time for any of your mind games right now, and that arrangement would look a lot better if you took a few of the flowers out.

Anthony: Well, come here and show me.

Maxie: I just want to see Johnny.

Anthony: But how can you have an opinion about the roses if you're standing so far away?

Maxie: Okay, here's the deal. If you don't have Johnny come down here immediately, I'm going to speed-dial Jason Morgan, and before you know it, you'll be up to your ears in a bunch of little mob guys.

[Anthony laughs]

Anthony: Why would Jason protect you?

Maxie: Because we happen to be extremely close, and I'll scream as soon as he answers the phone. You have until the count of three. One, two --

Johnny: Enough with the dramatics.

Anthony: Oh, we were having so much fun.

Maxie: Could you not return one of my phone calls or answer one of my text messages?

Johnny: What do you need to tell me?

Maxie: As if I'm going to say anything to you in front of your insane father.

Johnny: You can leave, or we can.

Anthony: You're right about the roses, Miss Jones. Excellent eye.

Johnny: What is wrong with you, antagonizing my father?

Maxie: Lulu needs to see you.

[Mariachi music plays]

Tracy: Keep drinking.

Luke: Innkeeper, por favor, un poquito brandy.

Tracy: Do not give this man alcohol, and if you do, they will be digging up your body years from now. Mas cafe, por favor.

Bartender: Si, senora.

Luke: Senora, you don't understand hair of the dog.

Tracy: What I understand is that your daughter needs you, and you have to come home.

Luke: I don't understand what you're talking about.

Tracy: Fine, then I'll tell you again. Get your arm in.

Luke: I don't want to hear it again.

Tracy: Well, you're going to hear it. Oh, you're such a loser.

Tracy: Logan Hayes became obsessed with Lulu.

Luke: After she clubbed him with a pipe wrench and put him in a coma? No, you're just trying to get me to come home to fulfill my conjugal duties, and I think that's cool, but I don't understand why I can't have a little drink.

Tracy: And when Lulu turned him down, he went nuts.

Luke: Well, he was always unstable, Baldwin's spawn.

Tracy: Logan tried to rape and kill Claudia Zacchara. John Zacchara killed him. Are you keeping up with me?

Luke: But I thought --

Tracy: John Zacchara killed him. Claudia and John covered it up.

Luke: What does this have to do with Lulu?

Tracy: Lulu thinks she's responsible because Logan was obsessed with her.

Luke: Well, that makes no sense.

Tracy: Exactly, hence my concern for Lulu.

Nikolas: Nadine.

Nadine: Oh, hi.

Nikolas: Didn't expect to see you here.

Nadine: Well, you know how it is.

Nikolas: Yeah, so how are you feeling?

Nadine: Not dizzy, no headaches. Promise I won't pass out.

Nikolas: Did you see the doctor?

Nadine: No, I'm fine. I'm sure it's just one too many sleepless nights, you know.

Nikolas: What do you mean? You haven't been sleeping?

Nadine: Well, no. Yeah, I mean, have you? It's none of my business. I shouldn't have even come over here. This is not even on my way home. So I'll call you later. You can call me, or we'll just not call each other. We're really busy and everything.

Nikolas: Wait, wait, wait, before you go, look, that night we spent together -- it was wonderful. I mean, it really mattered to me. It was the first time in a long time that I've been truly happy.

image

Jason: No, Bernie, I want business as usual, okay? I want you to keep an eye on our people, see if Sonny makes any overtures, and then I --

Carly: Hey, do you have a second?

Jason: Bernie, call you back. Yeah, yeah, it's Carly. Again.

Carly: So, you're not impersonating a bodyguard anymore.

Jason: Max's father went back to Italy.

Carly: It's really sweet what you did. I know Max appreciates it.

Jason: I'm just glad things worked out the way they did. What do you need, Carly?

Carly: Do you trust Nikolas Cassadine?

Jason: Why?

Carly: Would you go in to business with him?

Jason: I don't know. What kind of business?

Carly: He wants to buy half my shares of the Metro Court, and I'm thinking about selling it to him. It's a long story, but I want to do this because I'm trying to spite Jax, and I know that's so me, so I need you to tell me if you think I should count to ten.

Jason: I thought you loved that hotel.

Carly: I do love that hotel.

Jason: Then why -- why would you want to sell it?

Carly: So I can prove to Jax that, you know, I can make my own decisions and I'm capable of running my own life.

Jason: But how does undercutting yourself at the hotel prove anything?

Carly: Well, it wouldn't be doing that, okay, because Nikolas, you know, he has tons of money. He has an international reputation. He's got lots of good ideas.

Jason: So what? You got good ideas, too.

Carly: So you think it's a bad idea?

Jason: Well, I think, you know, I might go into business with Nikolas, but I don't really see him working at the hotel. Carly, you don't -- you don't have to destroy something good in your life, something you love, that hotel, just to prove a point to Jax.

Carly: Everything makes such sense after I talk to you. Thank you.

[Phone rings]

Jason: Yeah, Bernie, where were we?

Elizabeth: Hey, I need to see you right away.

image

Maxie: Lulu is waiting for you. She knows she's allowed to have visitors. She's sure you're going to come see her.

Johnny: Lulu understands why I'm not going to see her.

Maxie: Hello? Are we talking about Lulu Spencer? Miss "I'll do whatever I want whenever I want to, no matter what?" She's not going to understand why you're not visiting her.

Johnny: If I go visit her, she could relapse.

Maxie: I put my life on the line coming here today, not that you would ever thank me, but if you love Lulu as much as you say you do, then you'll go visit her and do whatever you can to get her out of that place.

Johnny: I put her in that place. I'm the reason she's so sick.

Maxie: No. Lulu had a breakdown because she killed Logan. And maybe it was made worse because of her genes and her mother, I don't know. But what I do know is that she needs you now, more than ever.

Johnny: What I know is what happens with mental illness when it goes untreated. My father is living proof.

Maxie: After all the times you said you love Lulu or after everything that happened at your trial -- come on, Johnny. I really think you're the only one who could save her.

Johnny: Well, that's exactly what I'm trying to do by staying away.

Spinelli: "To see a world in a grain of sand and a heaven in a wild flower, hold infinity in the palm of your hand, and eternity in an hour."

Lulu: That's nice.

Spinelli: Thank you. Perhaps you've had your fill of Blake and would now enjoy an energizing snack of barbecue chips and orange soda.

Lulu: I'm not hungry, thank you.

Spinelli: Well -- well, then maybe an invigorating walk around the grounds to stimulate your appetite? It's a beautiful fall day.

Lulu: I have to get ready for my session with Lainey.

Spinelli: I'm -- I'm sure the dedicated doctor is used to tardiness on your part. I mean, fair Lulu time is at least 20 minutes behind any other zone.

Lulu: Do you ever see Johnny?

Spinelli: I would be happy to relay any and all messages.

Lulu: Never mind. Johnny knows where to find me. He will either come see me or he won't.

Spinelli: The Jackal fears that fair Lulu --

Lulu: Everybody thinks that Johnny is making me sick. Including Johnny.

Tracy: Your daughter's in real trouble, Luke.

Luke: Tracy, so far, I've heard nothing to worry about. She rescued her man. Probably because Baldwin framed him.

Tracy: They carjacked the mayor to get out of town.

[Luke laughs]

Luke: Oh, that's my girl.

Tracy: Within days, she was hallucinating. She was delusional, and John took her to Shadybrook to get her some help.

Luke: Well, that was probably part of the scam.

Tracy: John ends up in jail. Lulu ends up in a straitjacket. And Baldwin rushes the trial through, claiming that Logan was a cop and he made it a death penalty case. So he puts Lulu on the stand, and by the time he's through with her, she is confessing to Logan's murder.

Luke: Son of a bitch.

Tracy: Luckily, nobody believed her. But your daughter is very, very sick, and she's getting worse by the day.

image

Elizabeth: That was fast.

Jason: What's wrong?

Elizabeth: Come in. So the paint in this place is driving me crazy, and there's no way I'm going to spend all winter long looking at these walls. I thought maybe you could help me by starting with the top of the walls, maybe doing the ceilings?

Jason: Wait, wait, wait. You called me over here to paint?

Elizabeth: Well, what did you think I wanted?

Elizabeth: I don't know what happened. Something just clicked. I need to make the studio more comfortable if I'm serious about working here. I had the afternoon off, found some paint, and here I am.

Jason: Elizabeth, this is kind of a bad time for me.

Elizabeth: Okay. It's no problem. I know I kind of sprung it on you. But listen, if you have some time in the next couple of days, I'd really appreciate you coming over here and helping me.

Jason: Well, you just want me to stop by any time to help you paint your studio?

Elizabeth: There's never going to be a good time for us, Jason. There's never going to be a magic airplane where we can hop on and go to Italy, and there's never going to be a magic door we can walk through and leave the rest of our lives behind us. So why not focus on what we can do?

Jason: I can't just ignore what's going on here. I --

Elizabeth: I can't ignore the fact that I've got two kids and a full-time job and a car that keeps breaking down on me. But I'm not going to think about it every minute of every day.

Jason: No, but my situation is a little different.

Elizabeth: Well, maybe you shouldn't be living your life on red alert. I believe you're the one who taught me that.

Jason: I know, I know. But every choice I make or don't make affects the people I care about.

Elizabeth: So what's your down time?

Jason: That's why I ride my bike.

Elizabeth: At breakneck speeds in the middle of the night with no lights on?

Jason: I stay off the main roads.

Elizabeth: Painting's a lot safer -- if you leave the window open. You know, Jason, I'm responsible for a lot of people, too, at work and at home, but I still need to unwind. And that's all I'm offering you. An afternoon, maybe an evening if you get the chance. Just a place to hang out. I don't want to have any more agonizing conversations about what we can't have. I just want to hang out with you.

Jason: Where do you want me to start?

image

Luke: Baldwin put Lulu on the stand because of me.

Tracy: I would have to agree.

Luke: Was Zacchara acquitted?

Tracy: His sister Claudia saved him. He's free. Lulu's getting sicker.

Luke: Well, that doesn't make any sense. Why isn't she getting better?

Tracy: A few days after the trial, Lulu called Nikolas and Lucky and told them she had a surprise for them. She took them to see Laura. She was devastated when Laura didn't wake up. She's convinced that Laura talked to her all through the trial and that Laura is what got her through it.

Luke: Is there any chance that that really happened?

Tracy: Luke, I looked in on Laura. There's no change. She's exactly the same. I talked to the doctors. There's no record of any change. The conversations were in Lulu's head. She's a very sick girl, and she needs you.

Luke: Right. Let's go.

image

Maxie: Oh. Where have you been? I left messages.

Spinelli: I have tidings of the more dire and disturbing --

Maxie: Enough of the mob stuff, okay? This is really important.

Spinelli: No, this is about the state of fair Lulu.

Maxie: How did you know?

Spinelli: I saw the gifts that you brought. I visited, and I figured you'd share my concern. I was able to soothe her a bit by reading excerpts from William Blake, but then the most disturbing development --

Maxie: She said she had to be somewhere on time.

Spinelli: Yes. I was stunned and mightily distressed.

Maxie: I know. Lulu's never anywhere on time.

Spinelli: I fear she's being stifled by the well-meaning care workers at Shadybrook.

Maxie: Then this is it, Spinelli. We have to break her out of there.

image

Lainey: You had two visitors sign in today. Maxie and Spinelli. Were you glad to see them?

Lulu: Of course.

Lainey: Did seeing them make you want to go home?

Lulu: I thought I wasn't supposed to ask about going home.

Lainey: You can ask me anything, Lulu. We'll work through it. And it's good for you to think about going home. The goal has never been to keep you here indefinitely. We're trying to help you get better.

Lulu: That's what I want more than anything.

Lainey: Have you had any more nightmares?

Lulu: No.

Lainey: Any more hallucinations?

Lulu: I know what's real and what's not. Logan is dead. My mom never woke up. And I never received any threatening letters.

image

Nikolas: It was rude for me to not even consider how strange it must have seemed to you for Alfred to just walk in on us and serve us breakfast that first morning after --

Nadine: It was nice.

Nikolas: Yeah. But it made you believe that I entertain women like that all the time, which I don't, and that I didn't care about spending the night with you, which I did, very much.

Nadine: Then why were you acting so cavalier?

Nikolas: Because I wanted to make you feel comfortable, that's all. And it was certainly never my intention to give you the impression that you're -- that you're one of many, because you're not. Really, you're not.

Nadine: I don't -- I just didn't want you to think that I was this silly little farm girl who was going to glom on to you.

Nikolas: No. Really, I never felt that.

Nadine: Look, I've never met anyone like you either, and my life is better with you in it, too. I didn't want that night to be the end of things. I wanted it to be the beginning.

Nikolas: Yeah. Yeah, that's what I want, too.

Nikolas: Are you sure you're okay with this?

Nadine: Yeah.

Carly: Wow, am I interrupting?

image

Elizabeth: When you think about it, helping me paint this studio is a lot more practical gift than going to Italy.

Jason: Oh, Italy wasn't supposed to be practical.

Elizabeth: I know. I still imagine us wandering around the villages and walking along the beaches.

Jason: I'm sorry it didn't work out.

Elizabeth: A friend once told me that I shouldn't think about things that can't happen. So now when I picture us in Italy, it's just a dream. It helps me appreciate what I do have and enjoy what's right in front of me.

Jason: That's a good way to live.

Elizabeth: I appreciate you being here with me.

Jason: I'm glad you called.

Elizabeth: And there's something else I'd appreciate.

Jason: What's that?

Elizabeth: Can you start painting?

Elizabeth: Thank you. Right up there at the top would be great.

Jason: Okay.

Elizabeth: Just be careful, though, because that ladder's a little -- maybe we should --

Jason: No. No, no.

Elizabeth: Let's move that ladder. It's going to --

Jason: Oh.

image

Tracy: Okay, over here.

Luke: Okay, it's okay. I didn't have a heart attack. I just blacked out for a day or two. Okay. All right. I'm fine now, I'm fine. I think I lost my jeep in a card game. Where's your car?

Tracy: My rental's outside, but I've got to call Daddy first. I have to make sure the, uh -- you're a mess -- money laundering charges against you get dropped.

Luke: Oh, no, that'll all be taken care of by the time we get to the border. Wait a minute. Why would Edward bribe a judge on my behalf?

Tracy: Oh, well, he's doing it to help Lulu.

Luke: He thinks I'm a terrible influence on Lulu.

Tracy: Okay, so maybe I'm blackmailing him to help you -- her -- you and them?

Luke: How are you black -- Tracy, if you are using my daughter to scam me, how --

Tracy: Oh, no, no, no, no, no.

Luke: Well, how -- how are you blackmailing him?

Tracy: Well, I just threatened to tell the members of his club that he's been internet dating.

Luke: What's his screen name?

Tracy: Sellhighandsplit.

Luke: That sounds right. Let's go.

Federale Lopez: Luke Spencer. Usted esta bajo detencion.

Tracy: What did he say?

Bartender: You don't want to know.
