Monday, August 4, 2008: Part 1:

Kate: Jason, what a surprise. We haven't seen much of you since you and Sonny terminated your business relationship. I guess that should be expected, except real friendships aren't predicated on whether one is doing business or not. Even so, it would've been nice if you had called ahead.

Jason: I need to talk to you.

Sonny: Talk.

Jerry: It's rare to find you at loss for words, especially when the question is so easy. What are you doing here?

Sam: Not that I owe you any explanations, but I've been looking for work as a ship captain. Money's been a little tight since "Everyday Heroes".

Jerry: Ah, yes, fleeting fame.

Sam: I suppose my 15 minutes are history.

Jerry: Well, this warehouse is currently unoccupied. So you trying to find work here would be quite a feat.

Sam: Really? What's your excuse?

[Lulu screams]

Johnny: Lulu, what is wrong? Hey, Lulu, snap out of it and tell me what is wrong.

Lulu: There.

Robin: What? Am I waddling?

Patrick: Gliding.

Robin: Yeah, right.

Patrick: You're beautiful. You know, I pictured a lot of things when you got pregnant, but I never realized how sexy you would look carrying my child.

[Robin chuckles]

Robin: I know you that think that's a compliment, but it sounds just a tad proprietary.

Patrick: Well, I know it's the anderthal in me, but I'm embracing it wholeheartedly.

Robin: Really?

Patrick: Yes.

Robin: Feeling very masculine and potent, are we?

Patrick: I think we should check.

Robin: Oh, how convenient.

Woman: Oh!

Robin: Ah!

Anna: Awkward.

[Lulu panting]

Lulu: Please tell me that I'm seeing things, that -- a big huge rat just -- just went off running behind you. Because I'm telling you, Johnny, fugitives or not, I cannot live in a rat-infested apartment, no matter how secure it's supposed to be.

Johnny: That's why you screamed your head off? You saw --

Llulu: No, you don't understand. I hate rats. They make my skin crawl. And I know that it sounds girly, but I think it went that way, so can you please check?

Johnny: You sure all we're talking about here is a rat?

Lulu: I hate rats. And if didn't imagine the thing, it is headed for the kitchen where our food is and it's disgusting, so please, just go check. Please, look!

Johnny: Ok, ok.

Nikolas: I'm sorry. When did -- when did I miss this amazing transformation from mild-mannered nurse to super scary spy nurse?

Nadine: I have been telling you all along. I am going to help uncover this counterfeit drug ring. You just haven't been listening and you want to know why? Because you've been too busy ordering me around --

Nikolas: So?

Nadine: But I don't take orders from you. My free time is my own, to do with as I choose.

Nikolas: What if I ask you really nicely?

Nadine: Are you capable?

Nikolas: No. So abandon the insanity and get back to work.

Nadine: When I'm done. I've just verified that matt's going to be very busy for the next couple of hours, which gives me plenty of time to get into and out of his room undetected.

Nikolas: Listen to yourself right now. What you're contemplating is illegal. You're not a cop, you're not a P.I. And there's absolutely no evidence that matt hunter is pushing counterfeit drugs. There you go.

Leyla: Actually, she's overheard several suspicious conversations.

Nikolas: Don't encourage her.

Nadine: Don't condescend. And while you're at it, don't discount my instincts.

Nikolas: Well, don't make me go to mac scorpio and tell him you're about to break into his house, thank you.

Nadine: Oh, what an ass. Do you think he'd really tell Mac?

Leyla: No, but he did -- did seem pretty adamant about wanting you to back off. You going to?

Nadine: No. I'm going to prove that everything nikolas said about my woeful incompetence is totally wrong.

Jerry: Unlike you, I actually have a reason to be here. I'm planning to buy this place to house this import business I'm in the process of starting up.

Sam: Oh, following sonny's lead into legitimacy, I see.

[Jerry chuckles]

Jerry: Well, I wouldn't go that far, you know. See, people like us like to put things at risk.

Sam: Oh, "please like us"?

Jerry: Oh, come on. Don't pretend that you don't know that we have a lot in common. And now we even have more, now that I'm dating your mother.

Sam: Oh, come on. That's a cover.

Jerry: I think I'm offended.

Sam: Offended? Really? Your agenda is clear to anyone who knows you, with the possible exception of Alexis. Come on. The only reason why you're dating her is because she's the D.A., And if she stays infatuated with you, she just might turn a blind eye if you decide to go on another crime spree.

Jerry: Wow, that's an excellent strategy. I mean, I wish I'd thought of it. The only reason I'm sleeping with your mother is because she was so determined not to have me and I found it imperative to change her mind. I mean, I'd be happy to do the same with you.

Kate: I realize that you're not the most effusive person in the world, Jason, but some well wishes for Sonny and I would be nice.

Jason: Congratulations. I hope you're happy.

Kate: We intend to be, despite whatever reason you're here for.

Jason: Good. I really need to talk to Sonny.

Kate: Fine.

Sonny: Where you going?

Kate: Oh, I have some errands to run.

Sonny: Well, you don't have to leave.

Kate: But no, I'm going to be back soon.

Sonny: Kate's like a schoolgirl getting ready to go to her first prom, you know? She probably just thinks that you're asking me to come back into the business.

Jason: No. I'm asking if you work for Karpov.

Sonny: You already know that answer. What -- what you probably want to find out is why.

Sonny: Why am I working with Karpov? You and me, we worked together for over 10 years. We were like -- like -- like brothers. So you know -- I mean, you should know that I would -- I would never do anything to undermine you. I mean, I created you. I taught you. I taught you how to strategize. So, based on all those tools that I gave you, what's your take? Why am I working with Karpov?

Jason: Karpov's a heavy-hitter in Europe.

Sonny: Mm-hmm.

Jason: Means nothing in the states yet, because he needed introductions, somebody just to ease him into the territory without making everybody upset. Now with you in the middle, Sonny, Karpov gets the red carpet rolled out and my hands are tied.

Sonny: That's Karpov's reasons. I'm asking you mine.

Jason: I don't know. Maybe -- maybe you think you're protecting me. I don't know. But I'm standing here telling you you're not.

Anna: Come here, come in.

[Robin groans]

Anna: Come, come, come, come. Shh. Ok, before anyone kicks off into a great big, fat lecture, I just want to say that noah and I are aware of the fact that this makes our children incredibly uncomfortable. And we're sorry about that. However, we're adults.

Noah: Yeah, and we actually have been for a lot longer than you guys have, so --

Anna: Yeah, a lot longer. So, what is our business is our business and no one else's. And we wonder if we could just live and let live.

Robin: Sure.

Anna: Great.

Patrick: No problem. In fact, the less we know about your adult relationship, probably the better.

Robin: Yeah.

Anna: All right.

Patrick: Ok? All right, let's go find our own closet.

Robin: I -- I don't think so.

Patrick: What? Great.

Robin: I need to talk to my mother, so I would appreciate it if you two brilliant doctors would just go do something medical.

Patrick: Thanks. Thanks a lot for that.

Noah: I could say the same thing, you know?

Anna: Bye. See you.

Anna: Do not jump all over me.

Robin: I know it's none of my business. I just have one question for you. Are you really attracted to Noah or is this just residual feelings for Eli?

Johnny: All clear.

Lulu: Are you sure?

Johnny: Positive. No sign of roaches, rodents or any other creepy, crawly organisms.

Lulu: That's good. We've got to get out of here.

Johnny: Why?

Lulu: Well, the horror I saw is probably lying in wait or biding its time until I am unsuspecting or alone. And then there's lourdes. She knows who you really are, so we can't wait around here and get busted. We have to get out of here, gas up the car and go to mexico like we planned.

Johnny: Ok, first of all, you're screaming your head off over a rat that's not even there. And now you're jumping out of your skin, ready to run, when we've already decided the best option is for us to stay put.

Lulu: That was before lourdes and rats.

Johnny: That was also before you started lying to me. Come here. Give me that. Now, one second I'm holding you and everything's fine, and then all of a sudden, you freeze up and scream. I'm asking you nicely. What happened?

Lulu: It was Logan.

Nadine: I'm pretty sure no one's home, but you should ring the bell just in case.

Leyla: What am I supposed to say if somebody answers?

Nadine: You'll think of something. Just distract him while I go in another way.

Leyla: Nadine, I'm beginning to see Nikolas' point. This is a really bad idea. You could get yourself into a lot of trouble. Is playing Nancy Drew for the day really worth it?

Nadine: I am trying to bust a counterfeit drug ring. I'd say that's pretty important.

Leyla: You're trying to get nikolas' attention and so far, so good. But you keep this up and he's going to have to pay attention to you in jail.

Nadine: Ok, we don't have to argue about this right now, so ring the bell. I got to go.

[Doorbell rings]

Maxie: Well, hey, what are you doing here?

Leyla: I wasn't sure if you're -- you were going to be home.

Maxie: Well, I am. What can I help you with?

Leyla: I wanted to talk to you about Spinelli.

Maxie: Oh, ok. I think I know where this is going. You like Spinelli, don't you?

Leyla: Yes, very much.

Maxie: That's actually not ok with me.

Leyla: Ok, are you saying Mr. Jackal is spoken for or --

[Maxie groans]

Leyla: Oh, wait, Matt.

Maxie: No, keep going. The less I have to see your arrogant face, the better my life will be.

Matt: Hey, Maxie, here's a solution. Stay out of my face and I'll stay out of yours.

Nikolas: Hi, Carly. I hope you're not sick.

Carly: No, no, I came by to see if you heard anything from Lulu.

Nikolas: No, no, I haven't.

Carly: Would you tell me if you did?

Nikolas: Well, yeah, I'd like to think so,nless there are extenuating circumstances.

Carly: That's reassuring.

Nikolas: I take it you haven't heard from her either.

Carly: No.

Nikolas: No. I keep telling myself that no news is good news, that John would protect her, no matter what. I -- I don't know.

Carly: I believe that, you know?

Nikolas: Yeah?

Carly: Mm-hmm.

Nikolas: Well, I'm hoping that as long -- as long as she's with him, she's relatively safe. And I -- I don't know. I guess there's some small comfort in knowing that she's not being held against her will. But, see, a downside to that is she's probably not frightened at all because she helped him escape.

Carly: I can't criticize her on that. I know I would've done the same thing.

Nikolas: Yeah, but I think she's a bit more fragile than you are. I mean, lately she's just been flooded with all these conflicting emotions about him, you know? And --

Carly: You've got to be kidding me.

Kate: Nikolas, you should instruct Carly to be nicer to potential benefactors.

Nikolas: Oh, well, you've got my attention.

Kate: Well, very good. I admire what you're doing with the clinic and I'm here to offer my support.

Nikolas: Really? What did you have in mind?

Kate: I don't know. I thought we could bat it around. Maybe I could donate from "Crimson" or we could use my resources for a fundraiser. Whatever you think would be most helpful.

Nikolas: Wow, that's very generous of you, Miss Howard. Thank you.

Kate: But you have to call me Kate.

Woman: Mr. Cassadine, mayor floyd on line one.

Nikolas: Right. I'm sorry. I have to take this. Don't go anywhere.

Kate: No, no, I'll be right here.

Carly: Wow, aren't you miss bountiful?

Kate: Well, I do what I can.

Carly: Yeah, you do. For example, you framed me for lying to Jax when I didn't.

Kate: But Carly, just think about all the times you did lie to him. I think it more than balances out.

Carly: I think you're trying to ruin my marriage. So I'm putting you on notice. I intend on keeping my husband. So when Jax and I work things out, and we will, we're going to be stronger than ever. That's when you need to watch out. I'm coming after you.

Sonny: I guess it's a matter of perception, whether I'm protecting you or not. But I'm telling you, my intention was and is to make sure that karpov doesn't threaten or compete with you in any way. In my book, that's protection.

Jason: Ok, you know what? You came to see me at the PCPD. You could -- you could have told me this.

Sonny: Well, it would've defeated the purpose and I had no reason to.

Jason: No reason? A European boss is making inroads into my territory through you. And -- and that's not a reason?

Sonny: I'm giving you my word. There's no trouble, unless my word is not good enough for you anymore.

Jason: I'm just going to say that I think making any kind of alliance with Karpov is a huge mistake. But you know what? That's your choice. I also think that no matter what you're telling yourself or what you're telling me right now, the reason you got involved with Karpov is because you miss this business. If that's true, you don't need Karpov, ok? You just say the word and you can have it all back.

Sonny: I made promises -- To my family, to Kate, to myself. And as hard as it is, I can't break them. I'm going to say it again. The reason I'm working with Karpov is so that he never compromises your interest. And it deeply disappoints me that you don't know that or at least give me the benefit of the doubt.

Jason: If you were being straight with me, you would've told me the minute Karpov approached you. But you chose not to. I'm sorry. I guess I expected more from you than that.

[Door opens and closes]

Lulu: I don't want you to think that I'm crazy.

Johnny: I don't, so you can drop that thought right now. Come here. Can't you just trust me enough to tell me what's going on?

Lulu: I saw logan right behind you. He was standing there all bloody with a knife in his shirt, so pale that he was grey. He was as real as you are, like another person in the room. And then, when I screamed, he was gone. How can you not think that I'm crazy?

Johnny: Because you lived through something traumatic. The aftereffects are perfectly normal. But you need to keep reminding yourself that logan's death was an accident.

Lulu: No, it wasn't. Logan didn't run into my knife. I stabbed it into his stomach.

Johnny: Lulu, stop --

Lulu: You weren't there! You didn't see his face, how scared and surprised he was, like a -- like a little kid who had just been betrayed by the only person he ever trusted in the world. Logan was right. He said I would never get over him, and I never will.
