Jax: By the time we meet, I expect you to have this locked up.
Carly: Why haven't you returned any of my phone calls? We have lots of business to discuss.
Jax: Well, I'd gladly discuss business. I just don't want to watch you demean yourself the way you did with Nikolas yesterday.
Jason: Okay, I need to know who Sonny's been in contact with.
Spinelli: It's moments like this that the Jackal's awesome cyber-dominance feels like a curse. According to Mr. Sir's phone records, he received three calls from the evil patriarch.
[Jason sighs]
Jason: Anthony offered Sonny to run his whole organization, and if that happens, there is going to be a war.
Maxie: Sorry. I really need Spinelli's help right now.
[Snoring]
Tracy: Oh, my God.
Luke: Stop, stop, stop. I beg you.
Tracy: You better beg. It's your fault we're in this Mexican torture chamber.
Robin: I need Mrs. Hutchins' chart and the 16-year-old with the headaches.
Elizabeth: Tree Carter?
Robin: Yeah.
Epiphany: Tree? Now there's a name for you and Patrick to put on the list.
Elizabeth: The meningitis test came back negative.
Robin: Okay, I still want to run more tests, and could you call Mrs. Molaskey and Mr. Hodge and see if they can come in after the staff meeting? Is there a problem?
Elizabeth: We're concerned.
Epiphany: About the way you're piling up on the work load.
Robin: Well, I'm about to get married and have a baby. So, I want to make sure that everything is in order.
Epiphany: Which is exactly the reason why that you should be delegating, not taking on more.
Robin: No, everything has to be in order when I leave.
Elizabeth: It's worse than I thought.
Epiphany: Looks like we need an intervention.
Elizabeth: Robin, we're your friends. We love you. We care about you. So, when a certain behavior starts to detrimentally affect your life, we feel that it's our obligation --
Epiphany: Nay, our duty.
Elizabeth: To help you address it and take the necessary steps to getting your life back on track.
Robin: Okay, what behavior?
Epiphany: Can you say "control freak"?
Elizabeth: Honey, it is time for you and your type-A personality to let go.
Nikolas: Nadine, Leyla.
Leyla: Oh, hey, boss.
Nikolas: Hi.
Nadine: Morning.
Nikolas: Morning. Thank you both for coming here and taking care of all this stuff. I appreciate it.
Leyla: Oh, yeah, it was Nadine's idea. She's the most committed and dedicated person you could hope to find.
Nikolas: Yes, yes, I'm well aware of how valuable she is.
Leyla: Right. Well, you keep stacking these, and I'll go get some more from the back.
Nadine: Okay.
Nikolas: Hey, so, listen, I'm glad you're here. I wanted to talk to you about what happened --
Nadine: Yeah, it is amazing to me how you can just go on with your perfect manners as if nothing has happened.
Nikolas: I'm sorry. What are you talking about?
Nadine: I know I'm supposed to be all metropolitan and cool. I mean, we are all adults here. Um --
Nikolas: Okay. Clearly I am missing something, yet again.
Nadine: Look, I know that I have no right to be jealous. I mean, we are not officially dating or anything. We just had one night of incredible sex, and then I bolted. But, the thing is, now I think that was exactly the right thing to do, because what I thought was unique and special really does appear to be just business as usual for you.
Nikolas: No. Nothing could be further from the truth.
Carly: I didn't feel at all demeaned by my encounter with Nikolas.
Jax: Oh, well. I was referring to how you implied that there was some kind of affair going on that's not.
Carly: What difference does it make? It's not like you care.
Jax: Of course I care. I don't like Nikolas, and I don't like the fact that he's taken advantage of you the same way he did with Courtney.
Carly: Nikolas was just as messed up as Courtney was when they got together. There was nothing malicious going on. You know, things happen. Sometimes circumstances cause people to do things they wouldn't necessarily do, and that's why you're so upset. Because down deep inside, you know you should be able to forgive me, and you can't.
Jax: Oh, right.
Carly: Right.
Ric: Hi. I can think of much better ways to get out your frustrations.
Claudia: It's not really the time for witty banter.
Ric: My, what's got you in such a mood?
Claudia: I knew it would happen sooner or later. I just didn't expect it to come so soon.
Ric: What are you talking about?
Claudia: You betrayed me. You're thick as thieves with my father. Why didn't you tell me about his little master plan?
Jason: Okay, Maxie, I -- I really need Spinelli to focus.
Maxie: I really need him to help me, okay? I'm not known for my compassion, but it really got to me seeing Lulu stuck in Shadybrook -- and if you want to help her, just let Spinelli come with me for a little bit.
Spinelli: Yeah, the Jackal will continue to closely monitor that which will remain unmentioned in Maximista's presence.
Jason: Fine, go. You guys go.
Maxie: Thank you. I promise, I won't make him do anything don't want him to do. Spinelli?
Lulu: Johnny? Johnny?
Lulu: I don't know if seeing you was real or not. So, if you're there, let me know. Otherwise, it means that I'm getting crazier.
Lulu: I miss you so much. I dream about you every night. Prove that I'm not starting to hallucinate you, too.
Johnny: You're not. I'm here.
Lulu: Hey. How -- how have you been?
Johnny: Okay. Free. I don't know what to say, Lulu. I don't want to interfere with your recovery.
Lulu: It's not your fault that I got sick. I -- this is something that I was born with. It's been inside me.
Johnny: But I want you to get better. That's why I can't come back.
Lulu: You don't have to listen to them. Your love makes me stronger. It's what keeps me going.
Johnny: I don't know what's going to happen, Lulu, but I know I love you -- and I want you to have a great life. Even if I'm not in it.
[Luke moaning]
Tracy: Luke Spencer, you have been down here for months. Clearly you know the lay of the land. So, get us the hell out of here!
[Guard laughs]
Luke: Please, I can't think with the entire Mexican army marching through my skull.
Tracy: It's your fault we're in here. You get us out of here.
Luke: I was only protecting my wife's honor. Or did you want that drunken Federale groping your maracas?
Tracy: He was only drunk because you got him drunk.
Luke: Yeah, because that was the only way to keep him from dragging you to jail for bribery.
Tracy: Right, and now we're both in jail. Wow, that was a really good plan.
Woman's voice: Luke.
Tracy: Who is that?
Luke: The Calvary.
Woman: I came as soon as I heard you were in trouble.
Luke: Bless your sweet little heart.
Tracy: Whoa!
Guard: She only paid for the senor.
Tracy: Are you kidding?
Robin: Okay, this kid -- Tree Carter -- I want you to do a psych evaluation. Do not let Timmons near him, please. Can you believe Epiphany and Elizabeth just called me a control freak?
Lainey: I'm shocked.
Robin: What? Just because I want my patients to have the best possible care before I go on maternity leave?
Lainey: To be fair, this is the first time you've said the words "maternity leave" without saying that you didn't need to take one. We were all starting to think that you were going to give birth in the O.R. and then just go right on working.
Robin: All right, fine. I admit it. Before I was all about being superwoman, not acting like I needed any time off and not acting like I needed Patrick and -- well, whatever. You've heard it all.
Lainey: Several times.
Robin: Yes, but now that I'm getting married, I really am embracing the idea of just letting things be and just letting things happen in their own time. Oh, by the way, I think Mrs. Hutchins' depression is actually a symptom of a bigger problem. So, I want to do a blood test --
Lainey: To check her cag repeats.
Robin: Yes, a positive result would indicate --
Lainey: Will indicate the possibility of Huntington's.
Robin: I just want to make sure nothing falls through the cracks.
Lainey: And then you're going to stop being a control freak. Real soon, okay?
Kelly: It's all set.
Elizabeth: One problem. Robin wants to work tonight.
Epiphany: Oh, don't worry about that. I'll take care of that.
Nadine: So, maybe having Alfred serve breakfast in bed for you and whomever you --
Nikolas: Oh, hold on -- I -- I explained --
Nadine: Oh, no, no. I remember that. It wasn't an everyday occurrence, but clearly it's happened before, right? I mean, with another woman -- at least once or twice. So, yeah.
Nikolas: I don't really -- I don't see how that has anything to do with --
Nadine: No, you don't see. No, but you don't have to see. I mean, it's your life and you're living it, and it's up to the rest of us to just watch you do your thing. So, I mean -- no -- no, look -- look, I don't want to make a bigger deal of this than it is, okay? So, I am sorry if I have made you feel uncomfortable.
Nikolas: No, no, really. I'm really not uncomfortable.
Nadine: Right -- no -- of course. Because why would you be uncomfortable? I mean, it's not like there's anything at stake here. It's just a little sex, right? Yeah.
Nikolas: Okay, so clearly we're at cross purposes here.
Nadine: No. We are not at cross purposes. I think we are both very clear on what is not happening.
Nikolas: Right, right. Okay, so obviously, you've misunderstood something that I said or did or --
Nadine: Patrick. Hey. It is so good to see you. So, are we still on for tonight?
Jax: You're impulsive, Carly, especially when you're hurt. I know that this divorce is painful for you.
Carly: It's not painful for you?
Jax: Well, flaunting a non-existent affair in my face is not going to bring me to my senses, if that is what you're trying to do.
Carly: You're not answering the question. It's a simple question.
Jax: Of course the breakup is painful for me, as well. There.
Carly: Okay, so you tell me the logic in doing something that hurts us both, that neither of us want. I see your eyes. Every time we talk, I see how much you miss me.
Jax: Well, you miss me, too. That's how I know you're not sleeping with Nikolas. You want me to worry that you are.
Carly: Yeah, I like when you worry. Maybe I like when you worry.
Jax: We're still business partners, okay? We have to be civil and make decisions that are best for the hotel.
Carly: For the hotel?
Jax: Yes, for the hotel.
Carly: Okay. So, we should keep our emotion out of it?
Jax: Right.
Carly: Right. But right now you want to shake me or kiss me -- or both. So, tell me how that works out for you.
Ric: Certain sacrifices have to be made for the sake of business, you know? Tough decisions got to be made.
Claudia: Spoken like a true company man.
Ric: Anything that's good for the Zacchara organization is ultimately good for us, Claudia.
Claudia: Really? I thought it might bother you just a little bit, considering how competitive you are with your brother -- and me taking one for the team. Bread?
Ric: What?
Claudia: Oh, come on.
Claudia: My father wants me to marry Sonny.
Nadine: I am really looking forward to tonight, and I have a special surprise in store. So, here are the files I was talking about for the patient referrals, and I am sure you have a ton to do before tonight. I know that I do.
Patrick: All right.
Nadine: So, I will see you later. Bye. Bye. God, that Patrick is such a great guy. So misunderstood. God, you know when you really connect to someone and you can just open up to them in a way that you just can't with anyone else?
Nikolas: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. I didn't realize that the two of you were such good friends.
Nadine: Yeah, well, there's a lot you don't know about me. Just like there's a lot that I clearly don't know about you.
Nikolas: Mm-hmm. Well, you go ahead and you have fun doing whatever it is that you're doing to do tonight.
Nadine: Well, you, too.
Nikolas: Sure. So, I'm not actually doing anything tonight.
Nadine: You're not?
Nikolas: No, no. The only person that I wanted to spend time with tonight was you, but clearly you're busy. So, you go ahead and you have fun, and maybe we'll make plans another time.
Nadine: Let me have it.
Leyla: Okay, the bad news is you just completely made a fool of yourself.
Nadine: Is there good news?
Leyla: Yes. If Nikolas doesn't go running for the nearest exit after that, he must really care about you.
Robin: Epiphany, those two appointments that I wanted to push back until after the staff meeting -- did Elizabeth get confirmation?
Epiphany: Elizabeth left, so I made the calls, and no luck. They weren't able to reschedule for the day. Actually, your second, third -- well, your entire calendar cancelled for the day.
Robin: Really? I find that highly suspicious.
Epiphany: Are you doubting me, Dr. Scorpio, after all my years on the job?
Patrick: What have you done to upset her this time?
Epiphany: Dr. Scorpio is questioning my integrity.
Patrick: What?
Robin: I suspect a conspiracy between Epiphany and some other well-meaning party, to make all of my appointments for the day mysteriously disappear -- so I can go home and rest?
Patrick: Well, it wasn't me. I've had rounds all day, but you know, since you're free and I'm free, why don't we make the best of it?
Robin: What? Go home and take a nap?
Patrick: I was thinking of something a little more exciting than a nap.
Epiphany: That's more than I need to know.
Patrick: Bye, Epiphany.
Robin: Bye.
Epiphany: Mm-hmm. They're on their way.
Spinelli: No sign of the overzealous mental health enforcers. The master of stealth has succeeded in infiltrating --
Maxie: Spinelli, there's not a whole lot of people trying to break into the looney bin. No offense.
Lulu: What are you guys doing back here?
Maxie: We came to prove to you that, although you're not the most stable person on the planet, you're not completely bonkers. And you definitely didn't write those threatening notes to yourself.
Spinelli: The Jackal has availed himself of a handwriting analysis program, designed by law enforcement.
Lulu: How did you get access to that?
Spinelli: Well, no system can outmatch the Jackal and --
Maxie: Back to the subject at hand.
Spinelli: Indeed, literally. As real as your suffering is, fair Lulu, and as varied its manifestations, it is not possible that you wrote this note yourself.
Claudia: It makes perfect sense from a business perspective, you know? My father can't trust Sonny unless he makes him part of the family.
Ric: You're not seriously considering this, are you?
Claudia: Well, not that long ago, my father would have been happy if I was at the bottom of a harbor. This strengthens my position considerably, knowing that I'm useful to him.
Ric: Yeah, but this is just another one of Anthony's mind games, okay? He's going to take Sonny on any terms.
Claudia: My father is not going to turn over everything he built his entire life without insurance.
Ric: He knows that Sonny is not going to accept.
Claudia: Sonny wants revenge against Karpov. He's willing to turn his back on his very best friend to get it. So, he's already signaled a willingness to get into bed with the enemy -- figuratively. This is the next logical step.
Ric: Well, I just don't see this as being useful to you, Claudia, on any level.
Claudia: Little of that old rivalry coming back.
Ric: Okay, don't do that. This is not a competition.
Claudia: No, you're right. It's not. It's business.
Ric: Don't fool yourself into thinking that you're going to be able to form an alliance with my brother.
Claudia: Your brother is using me. I mean, he would be. Why shouldn't I use him, too?
Ric: We got a good thing going here, okay? Don't blow it.
Jason: No, Bernie. I know that Sonny has been in contact with Anthony Zacchara. Spinelli broke into the phone records. Well, do something, okay? Let me know.
Carly: Hey, what's up?
Jason: Have you -- have you heard from Sonny?
Carly: No, not since I told him not to go after Karpov. Why?
Jason: Because he's considering an alliance with Anthony Zacchara.
Carly: What do you mean "alliance"?
Jason: Anthony Zacchara has offered to let Sonny run his whole organization to give Sonny the manpower he needs to go after Karpov.
Carly: Sonny can't possibly trust Anthony Zacchara. Anthony is only doing this so Sonny is at ground zero when all hell breaks loose. What -- how are you going to stop him, Jason?
Jason: Stop him? I got to give him back the organization.
Robin: Not that I wouldn't kill for a plate of cheese fries or Jake's -- what? Is it closed?
Everyone: Surprise.
[Cheers]
Robin: Are you kidding me?
[Laughter]
Nadine: You are surprised, aren't you?
Robin: Yes.
Kelly: You didn't say a word, right?
Patrick: No, I value my life, I didn't say a thing.
Lainey: You wouldn't let us throw you a baby shower or a bridal shower, so this one's both.
Robin: You guys -- and that is why you chased us out of the building.
Epiphany: And why I drove like a maniac to beat you both here.
Patrick: You're going soft on us, Epiphany.
Epiphany: Oh, no, no, I just can't wait for you two to get married so we can have some peace and quiet around here.
Coleman: Have that on there. Virgin margarita. Although when I look at you, virgin is not exactly the first word that comes to mind. But hey --
Robin: Oh, that's the best man making inappropriate comments already. Cheers.
Kelly : Oh, please, Coleman has seen you in much more compromising situations.
Coleman: Thank you, thank you.
Elizabeth: I have never seen two people who love each other so much resist the inevitable the way you guys have. You really have put us all through hell, and we are so glad we were able to convince you to do the right thing. To the bride and groom to be.
Kelly: To the mommy to be.
Epiphany: And to the daddy. God help us all.
Epiphany: Congratulations.
