Laura: Okay, look, I want to go on record here, because this story that you're about to spin for me, I don't want to hear it. I think I really pretty much understand the circumstances. We were divorced, and you didn't have any legal obligation to me, and then I got sick. And the doctors told you that I would never recover, right? So you have moved on and you married somebody else. Does that hurt? Yes, it does, but I do understand it. I guess it's just that -- I don't know. It's just some part of me wanted to believe that there would just never be anyone for you but me, and that's really foolish, and it's selfish. You moved on, and you needed to move on, and that's good. I'm happy for you, and I'll learn how to move on too, so I'm not mad about your marriage to Tracy Quartermaine. Can we be clear on that?
Luke: Yes.
Laura: Good. I am mad that you didn't respect me enough to tell me about it.
Sam: You know, you can put me down for not being book-smart, but I am good at reading people, especially men, and I say particularly you. I know that you like a challenge and you're good at scare tactics, but you would never go through with killing me.
Jerry: You know, it's fascinating what twists and turns take place in that feral mind, to come to such an erroneous conclusion.
Sam: Oh, come on. You blew into town as Mr. Craig, expecting to get a score and get out. It didn't work out that way. So then, all of a sudden, you become Jerry Jacks, who unlike Mr. Craig has emotional attachments to Port Charles. You would never want Jax or Alexis to know what you're capable of.
Jerry: But according to you, I never gave a damn about Alexis, so why would her good opinion make a difference?
Sam: Uh, no, no, no -- listen to me. I have completely changed my mind, because I actually really do think that maybe, somewhere in there, you cared about her, at least enough to count, anyway. And there's absolutely no denying your feelings for Jax. His good opinion of you means the world to you. So if you were to murder me in cold blood, you would be dead to him and you would certainly break both of their hearts.
Jerry: You know what? Occasionally -- occasionally, you have unexpected insight, you know? The prospect of my brother having a total disillusion pains me greatly, and I -- I would never wreak havoc on Alexis, no. But you see, Port Charles is closing in on me and the prospect of a clean getaway seems very appealing.
Sam: Okay, then why don't you let me help you? There is no way that you can pilot a boat this size. I can. Come on, stop making me your prisoner, make me your ally.
Jerry: Mmm, that's a tempting offer.
Sam: Well, why don't you think about it? We'd make one hell of a team.
Carly: I'll be back in a minute to change your bandage.
Sonny: Aren't people missing you by now?
Carly: Uh, well, I called Morgan and Mercedes and I told them that I was working on a special project and I'd be out of town for a few days.
Sonny: Morgan'd probably buy it but don't you think Jax is going to be suspicious? You got to tell him something, right? I mean, I know you guys aren't living together as husband and wife but you got -- you know, you're running the hotel together and everything. What are you going to tell him?
Carly: I'm sure there are a lot of alarms going off in Jax's head right now, but what can I tell him? There's nothing I can do about it. No, wait, there is. I could be honest and I could tell him everything that happened. I could tell him that you were stabbed and that you were pushed into the harbor. But you don't want me to do that, do you? No, see, you're asking me to keep this a secret, right?
Sonny: Point taken.
Carly: What's the plan? You're going to go avenge Kate's shooting by killing Karpov?
Sonny: Definitely, Karpov has to die, but I'm not sure if, uh --
Carly: You're not sure about what?
Sonny: Maybe Karpov's telling the truth. Maybe he didn't shoot Kate.
Lucky: There's just no way my parents could ease on down the road knowing how many people are worried about them.
Tracy: Your father doesn't care who's worried about him, especially if your mother's in the picture.
Lulu: My dad has gotten a lot better about telling at least one of us when he's going to disappear. The reason he hasn't gotten in contact with us is because he can't.
Tracy: I can't decide if you are the most gullible person ever or if I should emulate you.
Nikolas: Well, maybe -- maybe Laura had a relapse and Luke doesn't want to leave her. Where -- where have you been concentrating your efforts so far?
Rescue worker: Well, there are a few cabins in the immediate area but teams are checking them. So, if the Spencers left on foot, most likely there will be a direct route.
Nikolas: Can you -- can you show us?
Rescue worker: Yeah, of course.
Tracy: Count me out. I am not traipsing through one more inch of underbrush.
Lulu: I'll sit with her.
Tracy: You don't have to do that.
Lulu: No, it's fine. You just -- you shouldn't be alone right now.
Tracy: Why the sudden concern?
Lulu: If you were paying attention, it's not sudden. You are family.
Lucky: All right, you know what? Everyone who's going, let's just do this.
[Luke sighs]
Luke: Well, you know me better than anyone. You know I'm somebody who operates from the gut and I'm not so good analyzing the ins and outs of emotional situations. If your recovery had been permanent, none of this would have happened. But the doctors told me that it was only temporary and the next time that you slipped away, it would be permanent. So I have some very tough, painful decisions to make. Like if I allowed them to wake you up, knowing that it was going to be temporary, who was I doing that for? Was it for you? Was it for me? The kids? Or did any of that matter, anyway?
Laura: I'm sorry, Luke. I -- I know how difficult it all was for you.
Luke: When you did recover, you said that you wanted to marry me again and I know that that was the time to tell you about Tracy, I know. But knowing that you were only going to be with me for a limited amount of time, I didn't want to waste that time. I didn't want to not give you what you wanted.
Laura: It's okay. I get it. I really do. It's sweet, it's romantic. But you know what else it is? It's condescending. It's really condescending to assume that I can't handle the truth about your life without me.
Spinelli: My humble apologies for keeping the master waiting. I drove Maximista home so she could rest from her vigil, but I returned with haste when Stone Cold indicated he had a matter that required cyber skill.
Jason: Yeah, yeah, can you still hack into the P.C.P.D. records?
Spinelli: Like taking candy from a tot.
Spinelli: What is this?
Jason: A fragment of the detonator -- XP11. It can only be bought on the black market. So I need you to check the files, see if this same type of detonator was used in the Metro Court explosions.
Spinelli: Do you think that the demented one has reverted back to his dark and perhaps even more alarming Mr. Craig ways?
Jason: Well, that's what we need to find out, fast. Sam's life could be on the line.
Anna: You made a really good choice in Patrick. He's amazing. You know, I think he's -- he's a little bit freaked out now, but he's doing very well. He's been taking care of Emma. He's been monitoring you. He stayed here all last night.
Anna: You've got so much to live for, Robin. Sweetie. That's why I know it's exactly what you're going to do.
Anna: Oh, wow, here she is. Hi. How's the brand new girl?
Patrick: Nurse said it's feeding time.
Anna: Oh, it is?
Patrick: Yeah.
Anna: I'll let you do the honors, then.
Patrick: Wait, I was, uh -- just thinking maybe you could feed her.
Anna: Why?
Patrick: Well, you are her grandmother, and you actually know what you're doing.
Anna: You have to figure it out sometime. It's easy. All you do is you hold the bottle.
Patrick: Okay.
Anna: And Emma will do the rest, all right?
Patrick: Okay, babe. Come here. There you go.
Patrick: All right. Okay, let's see. So, hold the bottle, and you're supposed to do the rest here. That's it, take it. Oh, yeah. Jeez, it's got to be pretty good. Well, grandma was right. Hey. Look, mom's back. Hi. The family's here.
Sonny: I don't need another bandage. This one -- I'm fine.
Carly: No, it's not. Come on, don't give me a hard time. Don't give me a hard time.
Sonny: I'm not.
Carly: I'm just trying to help you here. Let me see this.
Sonny: Ah, ah -- wait, wait --
Carly: Sorry.
Sonny: Wait, no. Listen to me, I'm fine.
Carly: Sonny -
Jason: Okay. Sam took the detonator, intending to follow up on her own. I called her to make sure that she didn't run into any trouble on the way home. She said she thought somebody was here. That's when the phone cut off. I came right over to check on her. She said, you know, that I -- that I was jerking her around. She told me to stay out of her life.
Spinelli: That new and alarming information doesn't track with fair Samantha's prior behavior. What exactly did she say?
Jason: Well, a lot of the same stuff I heard when we broke up. She devoted her life to me. I -- I used her and she wasn't going to let me make her pathetic.
Spinelli: If I may offer a humble opinion, it appears that too much time in Stone Cold's presence proves unsettling for fair Samantha, no doubt due to lingering and unresolved romantic feelings.
Jason: You know, don't -- don't get sidetracked. If she is determined to follow up on the detonator, why would she leave it behind?
[Knock on door]
Neighbor: Sam? Are you home?
Neighbor: Who are you?
Spinelli: Uh, just worried friends of brave Samantha.
Neighbor: Why worried?
Jason: Sam disappeared last night. She's not answering her cell phone.
Neighbor: She's fine. Sam went off with one of her boyfriends. I saw her leave.
Jason: Was this guy someone you've seen before?
Neighbor: He visits on occasions, yeah.
Jason: Would you recognize him?
Neighbor: Sure. Oh, that's him. Handsome guy. Obviously, Sam thinks so, too.
Jason: What -- what do you mean by that?
Neighbor: Oh, they were in a very amorous mood. Sam was draped all over him.
Jerry: [Laughs] Oh, I expected you to be resourceful, and you didn't disappoint. But I mean, come on, seriously, what did you think you were going to do?
Sam: You can't blame me for trying to get away. You haven't been encouraging about my chances for survival.
Jerry: Sit. There you go.
Sam: You're actually enjoying this, aren't you?
Jerry: Oh, my God -- I am, I am. You know, you are really quite amusing. Really a lot of fun. Present. Come look. So much fun.
Sam: No, I'm afraid to ask
Jerry: Let me show you, darling. Here, want to take a look? Plastic explosive, XP11 detonators. You remember the explosion on the Metro Court? Same stuff. You know, don't worry, you are going out with a bang, I promise you.
Lulu: Checking for signs that I'm about to start seeing dead people again?
Tracy: Clearly, you've made a complete recovery.
Lulu: Thanks to my mom. I hope her recovery lasts.
Tracy: I'm sure you do. I bet your father does, too.
Lulu: Yeah, it's great having her back and awake. It's got to be killing you, though. What are you going to do?
Tracy: I'll let you know when I figure it out.
Laura: I'm not trying to be difficult, Luke. I'm just trying to make you understand, you know? It's -- it's infuriating to have entire chunks of your life missing, and it's even more infuriating to have other parts held back from you, for your own good.
Luke: I know it's a lame explanation, but it's the only one I got. I didn't want to hurt you.
Laura: I'd rather be hurt than treated like a child or like some shell of a human being who just can't handle the truth about her life.
Luke: I understand now, I do.
Laura: Good. Well, we probably should talk about, um, our current problem. Uh, I'm awake. Don't know for how long. And you're married to Tracy Quartermaine, so we have another tough choice. Should we really be spending any time together?
