[Sonny groans]
Sonny: All right, all right. I'm good.
Sonny: That's good.
Carly: It's bad.
Sonny: I've had worse.
Carly: I'm talking about the situation, Sonny.
Sonny: Feel free to stop anytime.
Carly: I'm not letting myself get pulled back in this time, again.
Sonny: Wait.
Jax: I know you're probably swamped, but I need this finalized as soon as possible. Okay, okay, fine. I'll be around the hotel. Thank you.
Jason: You got a minute?
Jax: No, I don't have a minute for you.
Jason: It's about your brother. I need some information.
Jax: I don't care what you need. You or Sonny.
Jason: Okay, what about Sam?
Jerry: Hmm. What do you think, huh? I was going to go for Lincoln or Rasputin maybe. It's more in character. I might as well of gagged you for all your chatter.
Sam: You're sick.
Jerry: Ah, there she is. That's my sweet Sam.
Sam: What are you doing?
Jerry: I'm preparing a more intimate affair -- you, me, and a few pounds of plastique. It's amazing how innocuous plastique is until you add a very potent electrical charge to it. Come on, put on your party face because we are going to have a blast.
Laura: Don't look so surprised, Luke. When you're married to one woman and you're chasing down another, you know, tough questions are bound to follow.
Luke: Hey, look, I was chasing Baldwin because he was driving like a manic and he had you captive in the car.
Laura: You're stalling. It's amazing how your mind works, you know. One half of it stalls while the other half can burn rubber and come up with a good answer. I'm sorry. I guess it's really not fair of me to put you on the spot.
Luke: No, it's life that isn't fair, darling. Life. You were the love of my life. My angel. I've never tried to replace you because I couldn't. You know that.
Laura: I believed that you loved me when you married me, but the first time -- I was just a little girl then, and I'm not anymore. And you don't seem like a guy who needs an angel.
Luke: Where are you taking this?
Laura: I don't know. I'm trying to answer the question I asked you, you know, me or Tracy. Oh, look, if you feel that too much time has passed, and it really has changed things for us then I can accept that.
Luke: Do you mean that?
Carly: You need to let go of my arm.
Sonny: What are you talking about? I'm not backsliding into anything. You love Jax. Great. I love Kate. So what are you talking about?
Carly: Come on, Sonny. When things get out of whack, we collide, and you know it.
Sonny: Because we react without thinking. That's what happened in the limo, and that's not going to happen again.
Carly: Yeah, you're damn right it's not going to happen again. Because I love Jax. You think you love Kate.
Sonny: What kind of stupid crack is that? You know your love for Jax is real. And my love for Kate is some fantasy?
Carly: You can't get out of yourself enough to even see the difference, can you?
Sonny: You don't know anything about Kate.
Carly: Oh, no?
Sonny: No.
Carly: I know she's a girl from the old neighborhood.
Sonny: Yeah.
Carly: Connie Falconeri.
Sonny: Okay.
Carly: Who changed her name and left you in the dust. She dumped you, didn't she? That's why you've been fixated on her all of these years. And you know what? It makes no sense to me because you guys couldn't be more different. She is a snobby, pretentious bitch.
Sonny: You know what, I'm not -- gee -- I'm not having this argument.
Carly: Oh, where are you going now?
Sonny: You could leave or see me naked. It's up to you.
Kate: I cannot believe you brought saltwater taffy.
Olivia: Well, I'm sure you're not supposed to be having it, but --
Kate: Yeah, well, I survived a bullet. I'm no sure what kind of harm sticky sugar can do me.
Olivia: Well, actually, it's two bullets at this point, but who's counting?
Kate: Mmm. Let me taste. Mmm! It's good.
Olivia: Good?
Kate: You know, it's almost as good as that stand --
Olivia: The candy stand down by the surf.
Kate: Mm-hmm.
Olivia: Yeah, they ripped that place down about eight years ago to make room for some social improvement project or something. Yeah, that's always how I knew that you'd been in my room. There was always little wax paper wrappers dropped all over where you had snooping around.
Kate: Yeah, really?
Olivia: Yes.
Kate: Well, I guess I can tell you now. I was sneaking peeks at your diary.
Olivia: I guess I can tell you now that I only wrote stuff in my diary that I knew would tick you off.
Kate: Ooh!
Olivia: That's a pretty good arm for someone in the hospital.
Kate: Well, you know, they might actually send me home as early as tomorrow. And then who knows what comes next?
Claudia: I think it's time for the bride-to-be to have a little talk with the bride that wasn't.
Olivia: Nobody is interested in what you got to say.
Kate: Oh, actually, I am.
Claudia: Well, obviously you're smarted than your cousin. [Claudia chuckles] So I've been thinking about it a lot, and I don't expect Sonny to be faithful to me after we're married, but I won't tolerate him sleeping with you.
Olivia: Get out.
Kate: No, it's okay, Olivia. So, let me get this straight. You actually think that Sonny will marry you?
Claudia: Sonny needs the power that my family has to offer. So, yeah, I do.
Olivia: Isn't your father recovering from a stroke?
Claudia: An aneurysm, actually. But who's counting? Besides, marrying Sonny as a condition of terms was my father's idea. I think it makes a great get well gift, don't you?
Jason: Okay, Sam thinks that Jerry's involved in a drug ring, so she's trying to get evidence to prove to Alexis that Jerry is still bad news.
Jax: Why should Alexis be different than any other woman in town, huh?
Jason: Okay, Jax --
Jax: I mean, death and danger sell, right?
Jason: Jerry asked Sam to meet him in an alley. When she got there, it exploded. I found the detonator. It was the same kind that your brother used here. Now, Sam has disappeared, and one of her neighbors said she saw Sam leaving with Jerry.
Jax: Well, it seems like you got your work cut out for you. Just do me a favor and leave me out of it, okay?
Jerry: You know, I think I'm making too many of these. I mean, one in the engine room, one in the forward hull, one in the aft. It's quite sufficient to sink us really. But I've always had a weakness for extravagant gestures.
Sam: What are you really doing? I mean, I don't -- why would you blow up a ship you could use to get away?
Jerry: Who said I was getting away?
Laura: You don't get to answer a question with a question.
Luke: Guess I'm still stalling.
Laura: Hm.
Luke: You know, the old brain cells don't burn rubber like they used to. Every time I came to visit you at Shadybrook and saw that you were still unable to do anything, but just sit and stare, I was overcome with grief every time. 'Cause all I could think of was all the wasted time, the wasted life, the lost joy, your infectious laugh, your beautiful sparkling eyes. Laura, nothing could ever make me stop loving you.
Laura: I know. But loving someone and building a life with them are really two different things. We were pretty remarkable though, weren't we?
Luke: We had to keep on our toes.
Laura: And I've been off of mine for a while now. You've experienced years without me and without even having any hope of speaking to me.
Luke: But you've always been with me. Always.
Laura: Mm-hmm. Like a faded photograph in your wallet. Look, I'm sure that at some point you, you know, I just didn't factor in anymore. Oh, I hate what we've been robbed of. I hate that we didn't get to grow older and closer together, instead of further apart.
Luke: You mean, like we didn't get to sit on the front porch in matching rocking chairs.
[Laura laughs]
Laura: My God, I would have had to nail you down to it. Oh, Luke, I never believed that that was something you actually wanted. Okay, so what's gone is gone, and we can't get it back, and it's nobody's fault, and it just is.
Luke: Are you sure about that?
Tracy: This heap reminds me of your father. A scrap pile, but there is always somebody foolish enough to get it running again, never thinking that it could drive off and leave you in the dust.
Lulu: I don't want to see you get hurt.
Tracy: Thank you,
Lulu: but don't worry about me. I had no illusions being married to your dad.
Lulu: You and my dad are a weirdly well-matched couple, but now that my mom's awake, it's like a triangle and somebody always gets left out.
Tracy: Why do you assume it's going to be me?
Lulu: Why do you assume it isn't?
Nikolas: All right, so we searched the area to the south. There is no sign of either one of them.
Lucky: And there's a streambed that we're going to take to the north while there is still light.
Tracy: Yeah, just enough light to get me back up to the top. You should come with me.
Lucky: That is a good idea.
Nikolas: We will call you if we anything.
Lulu: No, I'm coming with you guys. I want to see Mom and Dad, too.
Tracy: Well, I want to see the bottom of a martini glass and save one for your father. Um, excuse me, could you help me to the top, please?
Nikolas: What -- I'm sorry. Did I miss something here?
Lulu: Tracy thinks that our dad is going to come back to her.
Lucky: It's just pure denial.
Lulu: Is it? Dad's always been very loyal to Tracy.
Nikolas: Yeah, in his own peculiar way, I guess.
Lulu: What if he does choose Tracy?
Laura: Thank you.
Luke: We were starting down a really perfect road when we got remarried. But I messed up. I should have insisted that we elope. You wanted your family around. You wanted Rick to walk you down the aisle.
Laura: Luke, please, we don't have to revisit this.
Luke: No, we do. We do because that's where all this started, with Rick's death. I tried to protect you, Laura. I jumped in with both feet, and I just -- I made everything worse.
Laura: It's not your fault.
Luke: If not mine, than whose fault was it?
Sonny: Did you enjoy that?
Carly: It's smaller than I remember. That scar on your left side. Or maybe it's just that you have so many more now to compare it to. As for the rest of you, you know, it's nothing I haven't seen before.
Sonny: So why are you still standing there?
Carly: So I can carry your butt back to bed when you fall over. It costs a lot of money to get blood stains out of a carpet.
Sonny: I know a guy. He'll do a good job.
Carly: I'm sure you do. Blood, bullet holes. You can fix everything your job touches, can't you? Except a kid in a coma.
Sonny: Do you still visit Michael?
Carly: At least once a week. Physical therapy is really good for him. He looks just like a little boy, sleeping, you know. He's getting bigger. He's growing up in a bed.
Sonny: It must be, uh -- must be hard to see him.
Carly: Yeah, it is. I think it would be harder to stay away. I don't believe that his life is over. I just refuse to believe that.
Sonny: I hope you're right, but you know what? Michael wouldn't want us to fight, so thank you for what you did. Go back to Jax. I'm going to get rid of Karpov.
Carly: You said that you don't think Karpov shot Kate.
Sonny: It doesn't matter. After what he did to me, I'm going to get him, because if don't, he's going to come back. I got it. No, I got it. I got it, I got it. I'll be fine.
Jax: I imagine it took a lot for you to actually ask for help, but there's nothing I can do.
Jason: No, I don't think you're hearing me. Your brother is running drugs and may have kidnapped Sam, Jax.
Jax: I don't think you're hearing me. I don't know anything about it. I don't want to know anything about it. But if you want to track down my brother, be my guest. You want to search his room, I'll leave a key at the front desk for you. My dislike for you aside, I don't doubt your ability.
Jason: Just call your brother.
Jax: And tell him what? Jason Morgan suspects you of nefarious deeds and has finally gotten around to killing you? If Jerry weren't smuggling drugs, it would be something else. It's how he lives. It's how you and Sonny and Carly live, from one disaster to another. It's your choice, your mess. You can clean it up yourself.
Sam: You don't have to blow yourself up.
[Jerry laughs]
Jerry: No. I mean, you talk about me getting away -- where? I've been to the continents. I've been to the seven seas. I've had different names and different faces, with all varying degrees of success, and they've all led me here, to the proverbial dead end.
Sam: A man like you doesn't give up.
Jerry: Is it different for you? A life of larceny. A life where love is always out of reach, not that we really need that, you and I.
Sam: But I do.
Jerry: Aw. Oh, you don't have to be scared. It's terrible to be scared. It leaves you soul ragged. You'll wander, apparently through eternity.
Sam: You don't have to do this. I know places that are safe and really beautiful.
Jerry: Ah, I know you do.
Sam: Nobody will find us.
Jerry: I'm sure. I'm sure, darling. You know, the problem with safe and beautiful places is they become boring, and you'd escape at the first opportunity. No, no, no. I am going to take you to a place where you will never be tempted to leave. A place where, if we're lucky, we'll be mourned, rather than hunted.
Sam: Please, don't.
Jerry: Now in five --
Sam: Don't! Stop!
Jerry: Four --
Sam: You're crazy. Stop it.
Jerry: Guilty -- three --
Sam: No, don't! No, please!
Jerry: Let's go out with a smile, shall we?
Sam: No!
Jerry: Two --
Carly: If it took you this long to get down the stairs, how the hell are you going to kill Karpov? Let alone get away with it?
Sonny: We're done talking about this. You're out of it.
Carly: Not yet.
Carly: I thought I'd save you a trip.
