Olivia: Consider this room off limits.
Claudia: You know, marriage to me can give Sonny everything he wants across the board.
Kate: And what do you get out of it?
Claudia: Great sex. You know, and power. Or at least a venue to wield my own power in.
Olivia: If I see your face in this room again, I will wield my fist through your teeth. You forget about them, honey, okay? They deserve each other. All right, I'm going to give this coat back to that miserable bitch before she can use it as an excuse to come back in here.
Kate: Olivia.
Olivia: What?
Kate: I love Sonny.
Olivia: Yeah. We always love what's bad for us, don't we?
[Jerry chuckles]
Jerry: Do you really think I have such a dim view of the world so as to blow myself up? No, there are still jewels to fondle, women to steal or vice versa. You see the detonator was not activated. Timing is crucial. I will not blow up the boat until I get possession of the shipment and the payment is received to my account.
Sam: And what are going to do? Cut Karpov out of the deal and make off with the drugs and the cash?
Jerry: Well, truth be told, I was skimming, you know, from the top, so now I can just cash in and run.
Sam: Oh, okay. So you will make sure that the police or Jason or Karpov -- they won't come after you because they are all going to think you are dead.
Jerry: Well, I feel a little bad, you know, tarnishing the memories that your mother and Jax have of me, but I think it's better off if they think I'm dead.
Sam: And what am I? Your insurance?
Jerry: Oh, no, no, no, no, my dear. See, you -- you are the glue that holds my scheme together.
[Jerry whistles lively tune]
Laura: I don't blame you for anything that's happened, especially not the part after I got sick.
Luke: Well, if I had known that this moment was going to happen in our lives, everything would have been different.
Laura: Look, I'm not looking for an apology, Luke. I just want to know where we are now, because I can't make any realistic plans about my own future until you've been honest with me.
Luke: Okay. What do you want to know?
Laura: Do you love Tracy Quartermaine?
Carly: I went to your place, and I got it out of your desk.
Sonny: You said you'd never have a gun in this house again.
Carly: It's not going to be here long, is it?
Sonny: Listen, you understand why I have to do this, right?
Carly: I understand. You're going to do it no matter what I say. And that's why we're not together, and that's why I have custody of the kids.
Sonny: Okay, Karpov is a threat. He has to be dealt with.
Carly: You're not even sure if he shot Kate, Sonny. Come on.
Sonny: Okay, listen, you may be right on that. I asked Karpov a question. There was a look in his face. And I thought the son of a bitch didn't do it. But he shoved me in the water.
Carly: So now you're going to kill him?
Sonny: Like he meant to kill me. Once somebody knifes you and leaves you to drown, the peace is no option.
Carly: All right.
Sonny: I got to go.
Carly: No, look -- no, Sonny, if Karpov didn't shoot Kate, that means somebody out there did.
Sonny: I'm going to deal with that eventually, but tonight I'm going to deal with Karpov first. He knifed me, left me to die -- tonight I take back what was taken from me.
Carly: A lot was taken from you this year. The only thing worse than sitting through your murder trial will be visiting your grave.
Sonny: Hey, listen to me. You're acting like you're never going to see me again.
Nikolas: I got this map from one of the rescue workers. Here is where we just searched. There's a rescue team here, and I believe another one here. This is that creek bed. It runs north and then goes east. You -- I think you, Lucky, should search along the trail here, and then she and I will search along the creek bed.
Lucky: I think we should stick together. If one of us gets lost --
Nikolas: If we split up we can cover more ground.
Lulu: For all we know, Mom and Dad are so busy working out their issues, they aren't even thinking about getting found.
Lucky: Maybe that's a good thing.
Lulu: Or it's a bad thing.
Nikolas: Is it even a possibility?
Lulu: Do you really think it's a good idea having Mom and Dad get back together?
Lucky: Love does make mistakes.
Lulu:: Like me and Johnny?
Lucky: You said it. I mean, look at me and Elizabeth. I mean, we tried again and it was a disaster.
Lulu: It doesn't have to be. Nikolas, would you give Emily a second chance if she --
Nikolas: Yes, I would. But we're dealing with two very unique people here.
Lulu: Three. Whether you like it or not, Tracy is not going anywhere.
Scott: Well, well, well, Tracy, did the drunken freeloading fox get away?
Tracy: I hate L.A.
Scott: Well, who doesn't, unless you're young and in love. You look like you could use a drink in a glass with a diving board.
Tracy: You short-sighted boob. You could not have set up a more perfect scenario for Luke and Laura to get back together again.
Scott: You would have handled it differently?
Tracy: Of course. You could have stayed put when you saw me and Luke standing there. We could have had a nice, old-fashioned brawl. Luke would have been exposed as a bigamist. And you and your precious Laura could have ridden off into the sunset like fools in love, and I could have gone back to the mansion with my husband.
Scott: Nah, you know what? I've had a little more experience with Spencer and Laura than you.
Tracy: You mean failure.
Scott: Well, you know what, Tracy? Sometimes you just got to sit back and let destiny take its course.
Luke: I'll be honest with you.
Laura: Oh, where have I heard that before?
Luke: I do have strong feelings for Tracy.
Laura: Did they start before or after you got her drunk and tricked her into marrying you?
Luke: After. Long after. It was sort of something that crept up on me. And then when I faced my mortality, it sealed the deal. See, one of the events that you missed was -- I had a massive coronary last year just before Christmas.
Laura: Oh --
Luke: And, you know, I'm not one who scares easily, but I don't mind telling you it changed everything. I had one botched bypass, and then one that didn't work. And then a successful operation, but it really took the wind out of my sails.
Laura: I'm shocked. No, not that you got sick, but that you went ahead and had the procedure with your suspicion of authority and all.
Luke: Yeah, well I didn't want to, and I almost didn't, frankly. It was Tracy who convinced me to have the operation. She refused to give up on me, and she just wouldn't allow me to give up on myself.
Laura: So, you must have gotten pretty close then, huh?
Luke: It went from con to con to connection. And my feelings for her shocked me almost as much as I'm shocked standing here looking at you now.
[Laura crying]
Laura: Well, if it makes you feel any better, I think the doctors are pretty shocked to see me up and around, too.
Luke: Good old lS-49.
Laura: Yeah, I guess it works differently on different people.
Luke: So?
Laura: So, yeah, I guess it could be temporary. But you know what? I'm going to think about it as being permanent, because I want to live.
Luke: Good. Good and now you got your life back. What do you want out of it?
Laura: What do you expect me to say? That I want you back?
Spinelli: The Jackal, P.I., was very impressed with Stone Cold's physiological sweep of the demented one's room.
Jason: Too bad there wasn't much to find.
Spinelli: All right, so in order to calculate our next move, we must review the case so far, mainly a room with all of Jerry's personal stuff and clothes neatly left behind, which would indicate to me either a sudden departure or a planned return.
Jason: Or he did a sweep of his own on the room because he left nothing for us to trace.
Spinelli: So -- what do we do? We go back further?
Jason: Yeah, good, good idea. All right. Let's start with the explosion. Let's assume that Jerry's the one who set it. He needed materials.
Spinelli: Of a specific variety. Jackal, P.I., will see if any purveyors of such goods made any recent sales.
[Typing]
[Karpov speaking Russian]
Karpov: I have a shipment due tonight -- tonight, and no one seems to know what's happening with it?
Karpov: Find Jerry Jacks and see what he knows about it.
Olivia: It's just me. I didn't think you'd show.
Karpov: It was most surprising to receive a call from someone claiming to be Kate Howard's cousin.
Olivia: Why did you shoot her?
Karpov: I'll tell you what I've told Sonny, what I've told others. I did not shoot the woman.
Olivia: Well, you're doing a pretty rotten job selling that story, because Sonny wants you dead.
Karpov: Sonny is no worry for me.
Olivia: Sonny is getting ready to work a deal with the Zaccharas to come after your sorry ass.
[Karpov chuckles]
Olivia: Now, I don't want to see anyone get killed. So why don't you be really smart, take a hint, and get out of town?
Karpov: You obviously haven't heard. I believe Mr. Corinthos has met with an accident.
Sonny: Dead wrong.
Luke: Nothing stays the same, does it? Things change. People change. You have. I have. But there's one thing that will never change. That's the place that you hold in my heart. No one could ever touch that. Never. Well, I can only imagine the lies and exaggerations that Baldwin has told you.
Laura: He didn't lie to me. Maybe he did exaggerate a little bit, but he didn't lie to me.
Luke: So what, every fourth or fifth word was the truth?
[Laura laughs]
Laura: No. Truth -- he told me that you were married to Tracy Quartermaine. Truth -- he reminded me of a time that I loved him. Truth -- he wasn't always the villain. We really made him into that. Really, you did. Truth.
Carly: I already tried Jason's cell and the office. He's either not there, or he's not answering. And this is really important. I know I always say that, but I mean it this time. Forget it. I'll find him myself. Oh, Jax. Jax, I know -- I know we have to talk, but right now, I can't do it.
Jax: No, this won't take long. These are our divorce papers. All you have to do is sign them, and we can be done with this farce.
Sonny: You need to leave.
Olivia: I'm not sure that's a good idea.
Karpov: Neither am I.
Sonny: Do it. Walk. Don't stop walking until you get to Kate's house.
Karpov: You're a hard man to kill.
Sonny: You won't be.
Karpov: Shooting me will only bring payback from my organization -- payback like you've never seen.
Sonny: You tried to kill me once already. I'm not going to let you live to try again.
Karpov: You want payback for your bride. Well, I'm not the one who shot her.
Sonny: Maybe that's true. But it's too late to matter.
[Gunshot]
[Gunshots]
Jason: Something's not adding up. Jerry calls Sam to an alley, sets off an explosion using all the same materials he used in the hostage crisis, and then he grabs Sam from an apartment within sight of her neighbor.
Spinelli: Yeah, it's as if he's trying to tell us something and that somehow fair Samantha is entwined.
Jason: Okay, but why does Jerry need Sam? Why is she so important to him?
Spinelli: Obviously for a plan of large proportions.
Jason: What is it -- who is that? Who is Jay?
Spinelli: It's one of the demented one's many aliases. Look at the amount of pounds of plastic explosive he purchased and had delivered earlier today.
Jason: It's enough to blow something sky high.
Sam: What? So this is just a game now? I've got to guess my usefulness?
[Jerry laughs]
Jerry: Oh, God, and here I was getting dreadfully bored at assembling these explosives.
Sam: I'm just wondering if you're going to blow up the ship, how are you going to save the drugs?
Jerry: You have so many questions.
Sam: Can you please answer me?
Jerry: No, explanations are tedious. Why don't we liven it up a bit? Huh? Do you remember that game we played at the Metro Court?
Sam: I remember a lot of sadistic games you used to play.
Jerry: So do I, quite frankly. I was referring to the game of catch. Very good, sweet Sam. As long as you play the game, I can give you answers.
Sam: What if I stop playing?
Jerry: Well, I can think of another game with higher stakes. Now it's your turn, Sam.
Sam: Why do you want to blow up the ship?
Jerry: Ah. Well, that one deserves an answer, I think. You see, Karpov is part of an extremely violent syndicate that I wouldn't even want pursuing me. Consequently, the ship will blow up with enough product inside it so that people think that the shipment is completely lost, as well as my blood and DNA. So it will convince them that I'm lost with it. Wonderful, isn't it?
Sam: Yeah, and what about me?
Jerry: Different question.
Sam: Answer me, please.
Jerry: Well, I can bet that whatever's left of your beautiful, sexy dead body will convince them that we both went down with the ship.
Luke: Laura, no matter what happens, I need you to know that you're the one angel that I have actually known in my life.
Laura: I'm not an angel. You know, that's your idea. It's your fantasy of what the perfect woman would be.
Luke: Oh, no. No, no. I've never needed perfect. You gave me something more important than perfect. You actually made me believe in something I never expected to believe in. Love.
Laura: We were pretty amazing, weren't we?
Luke: We were amazing.
