Maxie: Where have you been? I've been going crazy. Get over here.
Spinelli: How's your lovely head?
Maxie: More like Jason's than I thought. Concrete. I was hit hard enough to be knocked unconscious, but there is no damage, permanent or otherwise.
Spinelli: I am vastly relieved.
Maxie: I was terrified that massive guilt trip Mac dumped on you yesterday actually worked, but I should have had more faith in you. That's a really pretty plant. Is it for me?
Spinelli: Yes. The Jackal brings a small offering of lavender, suitable for transplantation next summer in Maximista's garden.
Maxie: That's really lovely. Thank you, but fair warning, I'm horrible with plants. Usually I just walk by and they die. So, I might need your help.
Spinelli: Under normal circumstances, the Jackal would be delighted to assist, but the current state of affairs are the antithesis of normal, even when measured by this skewed reality in which I currently reside.
Maxie: Okay, I'm really good at Spinelli-speak, but you've lost me.
Spinelli: The Jackal must make himself scarce for the foreseeable future.
Maxie: Are you going to the mattress?
Spinelli: No, no. But the protective parent was right. The brutal assault on your frail and gorgeous person was my fault. Therefore, reluctantly, the Jackal must abdicate his hard-won position in your life.
Lucky: Okay, so why do I have a feeling that I don't like this already?
Sam: Because, listen, I don't -- I don't have much time. So, I just wanted to give you a heads up. The Russians, they have absolutely no idea that I was working undercover or that I was on the boat with Jerry. They just think that I was a good captain and I was in it for the money.
Lucky: Okay, so?
Sam: So, I contacted their lawyer, Sasha Donev, and I asked her to keep me on and she agreed. And before you even try and talk me out of this, it's not going to happen, because this is my way back in with the Russians, and I'm going to take it.
Lucky: You can't do this, Sam.
Sam: Why? Are you kidding me? No one else is in a position to get evidence, Lucky.
Lucky: I've seen the devastation these guys leave behind. Maxie was assaulted just after she left your apartment.
Sam: Doesn't that give you pause? She was obviously being followed. They could have easily broken into my apartment, and they didn't. They targeted her for a reason. Why?
Lucky: And we're going to find out through channels, but not by putting your life at risk. These are serious guys, Sam.
Sam: Yeah, exactly why they need to be stopped, and it's exactly what I'm going to do.
Cody: I've had the warehouse on mason under 24-hour surveillance. There's been a lot of activity since last night.
Jason: Good, good. Probably their new base of operation.
Cody: What do you want to do?
Jason: Okay, what I am going to do is I'm going to call a meeting with Sasha. I'm going to tell her that I want a truce, and she's going to believe me since everybody thinks I want to avoid confrontation.
Cody: I never bought into that theory.
Jason: That theory is going to work for us right now, because once she's in the meeting place we hit the warehouse. I don't want anyone coming out of there alive.
Elizabeth: Mr. East is still having headaches.
Patrick: Okay, I'm not surprised. Just up his pain meds, like 5 mgs. Let me ask you something. Should I be worried that Emma's only sleeping like three hours at a time?
Elizabeth: Three hours? Count your blessings.
Patrick: It could be worse?
Elizabeth: Try 45-minute increments.
Patrick: I'm ordering an MRI for Mrs. Jenner, and ask the lab to put a rush on the results.
Elizabeth: Okay, Maxie Jones is recovering nicely.
Patrick: I don't expect any complications. Let me -- should I -- should I be feeding Emma like a bunch of small meals or just one -- one bigger one?
Elizabeth: Well, just figure out what she's taking and, you know, she'll let you know. Mike Corbin is being released today. Are there any special instructions?
Patrick: What about car seats? Because we have this one right now that's like, it's ridiculous. I can barely even -- I can't figure the thing out.
Epiphany: We're all happy for you and Dr. Scorpio. And I think I can honestly say that the entire staff anticipated the birth of this baby with bated breath. We're thrilled, honestly. But we're trying to be medical professionals here. I don't want to look in a file and see a recommendation for a baby formula where there should be a prescription for meds.
Patrick: Yeah.
Epiphany: So, Dr. Drake, will you do us all a favor and either be a doctor here, or go home and be a dad?
Patrick: Yes. Yes, sorry, Nurse Johnson. I will focus now. [Phone rings] Hey, Robin, is everything okay?
Robin: I'm making a mess of everything.
[Emma cries]
Patrick: Oh, hey, I'm sure that's not true.
Robin: It is true. I can't get Emma to sleep. Forget that, I can't even get her to stop crying. Listen.
[Emma continues crying]
Robin: Our neighbors are going to think that I'm an abusive mother. I mean, I just don't know what to do for her. I can't get her to stop crying.
Patrick: Okay, okay, I'm on my way. Can you sign me out, please?
Epiphany: Is everything okay at home?
Patrick: Yes, yeah, it's just Robin and the baby need me. Are you guys all right?
Elizabeth: Yeah, we'll take care of everything.
Epiphany: Yes.
Elizabeth: Go; go be with your family.
Patrick: My family, yeah, I like that.
Johnny: I gave up a long time ago trying to predict how my family's going to react to everything. So, I can't guarantee that they're not going to give you any more trouble, but I had nothing to do with that money laundering setup, by the way.
Luke: Well, I figured that much.
Johnny: So, maybe you feel a little more confident to enter into another deal with me?
Luke: I'm listening.
Johnny: I'll give you whatever startup capital you need to get this place up and running. In return, I want my profit share increased five points.
Luke: Okay. That could work, if this association is just you and me alone, not me and your whole damn family.
Johnny: Done. Great.
Luke: Good.
Johnny: And you should have some breathing room. My family will be laying low for a while, at least as long as this war between the Russians and Corinthos/Morgan plays out.
Luke: Well, then we should get moving.
Johnny: I'll have the money transferred immediately.
Lulu: Well, I should've known.
Luke: Hi, cupcake.
Lulu: Don't try to play me off. I know exactly what you're doing. You might as well stop. I mean, we've heard all the warnings, haven't we? About how Johnny's dangerous, and we shouldn't be together. Guess what? We are together, so there's nothing you can do to change that.
Luke: Rats. Thanks for stopping by.
Johnny: Don't mention it. Your name never came up.
Lulu: I'm an idiot.
Luke: You're my idiot. Come here. Give the old geezer a hug.
Maxie: No, no, Spinelli. I refuse to accept that.
Spinelli: It's for the best.
Maxie: Not for me. I need you. And you can't let Mac manipulate you into staying away from me.
Spinelli: The commissioner of law and order made valid points. I made a conscious choice to align myself with the criminal element. That association nearly cost you your life.
Maxie: That is not true. Those Russian guys, they probably saw me when they were trashing Kelly's. That's why they attacked me. Not because of you.
Spinelli: I fear it's -- it's not that simple. And it's not limited to this just -- this current incident. Violence is at the heart of the organization. Its tentacles spread out to all those who surround it.
Maxie: Spinelli, I know you like to think that you are a mobster, but you're really not. You're more like tech support.
Spinelli: But for Jason Morgan. That alone could compromise your safety. I fear that Maximista doesn't have a clear understanding of what I endured. When I saw you lying still, seemingly broken in the exact same place that I saw wise Georgie dead, I thought you were dead, too. And something -- something broke inside me. I knew that if it was true that your consummate fire had been extinguished forever that nothing would ever matter to me again. I realized --
Maxie: I feel the same way, Spinelli. That's why we still have to be friends. I can't imagine my life without you. I mean, if we weren't friends anymore, I would probably turn back into the same selfish, horrible person I was when we first met. And you wouldn't want that, would you? You're always telling me to follow my dreams and helping me realize my potential. Please, you can't abandon me.
Spinelli: I think you're just becoming over-agitated. Don't worry about anything. You will always own the Jackal's heart.
Maxie: What I'm saying is, I need your presence, too.
Spinelli: And you shall have it. Just not right now.
Maxie: Where are you going?
Spinelli: To tend to what's necessary.
Maxie: Spinelli, what does that mean?
Spinelli: Get some rest, fair one.
Patrick: Hey, what's up?
Robin: Oh, thank God. Rescue our little girl from her horrible mother.
Patrick: Oh, come on, I'm sure it's not that bad.
Robin: She hates me.
Patrick: Robin, I think you're being a little silly.
Robin: I'm serious. I don't even hold her right, which means we're not bonding, which means I'm already ruining her life.
Patrick: Okay, just let me see what I can do. It'll be okay.
Patrick: Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey. Hey, baby girl, come here.
Patrick: There we go. Come here. Hey, there we go. It's okay.
[Emma stops crying]
Robin: How did you do that?
Patrick: I think it was just good timing. I think she probably tired herself out.
Robin: You're being really nice, but we both know what's going on here. You're a great dad, and I suck.
Patrick: Shh.
Luke: God, that sounds like a slow crawl through hell. I wish I'd been here to help you.
Lulu: Well, you know, I had a lot of time to think when I was in Shadybrook. And one of the things that I realized was that you have a right to your own life. It's not up to you to make mine better for me. If I make stupid choices, I have to face the consequences. It's part of being an adult. Unfortunately, I realized that I'm a lot weaker than I thought I was.
Luke: Weak, strong, foolish, wise, life's a seesaw. Mistakes get made.
Lulu: Like sending mixed signals to Logan. That was a doozy.
Luke: Well, that didn't give him the right to attack you. He played true to form. Miscalculated, ran himself through with a knife. You know, when you make stupid choices, sometimes the results are lethal. I just hope you're through beating yourself up over it.
Lulu: I mean, I still think about the night. I don't relive it the way that I used to.
Lulu: You know what the best thing about this was?
Luke: Tell me.
Lulu: Being at Shadybrook. I mean, I got to see Mom whenever I wanted. I could go to her and talk to her. And I think she felt my pain, and she knew that I needed her. And I think that's why she came back.
Luke: That could be.
Lulu: Having Mom awake was worth whatever it cost. What's it mean to you to have her back?
Max: The guards are on high alert, but so far, no sign of the Russians. You did have a visitor, though.
Sonny: Who?
Max: Spinelli.
Sonny: Jason sent him?
Max: No, he came on his own. He came to broker a truce.
Sonny: Well, it's pretty obvious, you know, Spinelli lives in the twilight zone. And Jason doesn't want to help me. Doesn't want me involved in the organization.
Max: It's a damn shame, boss.
Sonny: It's what it is.
[Knocking on door]
Sonny: If that's Spinelli, just tell him to -- I don't know. You know what to tell him.
Max: I'll handle it, boss. Ms. Howard, pleasant surprise.
Kate: Hi, Max. Is Sonny in?
Max: Yeah, he sure is. He'll be glad to see you. Go on in.
Kate: Okay.
Sonny: Hey. I thought you were going to come, but I didn't think it was going to be this soon.
Kate: I'm not actually here about us getting back together.
Sonny: Okay.
Kate: It's kind of the opposite. I really want us to both have clean slates to take to where ever we go next. That means no more secrets.
Sonny: I'm all fresh out.
Kate: I'm not.
Sam: Hello. Hey, reporting for duty. So, what is it you want me to do?
Sasha: All right, critical shipment is being landed tonight. You will supervise with the help of my associates.
Sam: Okay, sure. I mean, as long as you know I get paid in cash upon completion.
Sasha: Not a problem.
Sam: All right.
Sasha: This is Vlad. He speaks a little English, and he'll instruct you as you go. But, first, Vlad.
Sam: Hey, whoa, easy on -
Vlad: She's clean.
Sam: I would appreciate a warning next time.
Sasha: Look, I have no track record with you. I have no reason to trust you. That'll have to be earned. Let me know when the shipment comes in. I have a meeting to go to.
Vlad: Wait over there. We'll leave shortly.
Cody: The men are ready to go.
Jason: Okay.
Cody: Whenever you say.
Jason: We're going to hit, and we're going to hit hard. We're going to make the Russians rethink their whole plans, but I don't want any civilians to get hurt. So, your Intel needs to be right. Everybody in that warehouse has to be in the syndicate, because we're not leaving any survivors.
Kate: It's just -- it's sad, you know? It's sad when you think about it. On our wedding day, we were both so certain about our future. But maybe that was just me, the naive one. I mean, I didn't know about your secrets. I didn't know that you were still a target for the mob. And maybe it evens out, because you didn't know about mine, either.
Sonny: What do you mean about you? You were always honest with me.
Kate: That's not entirely true. And I had my reasons, but they don't seem to apply anymore. There's nothing left to protect. There's nothing left to hide. And you -- you need to know the truth.
Sonny: About what?
Kate: Your son.
[Speaking Russian]
Spinelli: Freeze, evildoers. This is for Maximista.
