Patrick: Hey, how are you? What's up?
Matt: Um, I just brought you a care package from the hospital, just in case you need some supplies. There's like formula and diapers.
Patrick: That's great. Come on in. Thanks.
Matt: Wipey thingies. I didn't know what you'd need. Look, if you have to run an errand or something, you know, something that's not going to take too long, I could cover for you. You know, give you a hand.
Patrick: I think we're okay here.
Matt: Yeah?
Patrick: She's passed out, yeah. Actually, you know what? If you want to grab her for a second, I'll just go to the kitchen and make a sandwich. I haven't eaten all day.
Matt: Sure, as long as you make me one.
Patrick: Okay, let's see here. Just hold her head like a football.
Matt: Like a football. Yeah, I think I told you that. I got her. I got her. All right.
Patrick: There you go. You know what she really likes? She likes doing the little -- hold the car up and do little, like car sounds. She loves that.
Matt: Yeah, she likes cars?
Patrick: Car sounds.
Matt: [Makes car sounds]
Patrick: What is that? Woom-boom? What is woom-boom?
Matt: It's a car sound.
Patrick: No, no. A car sound is vroom-vroom. Like a car sounds. Look, you're scaring her.
Matt: What do you mean "you're scaring her"? You want me to do it deeper. What do --
Patrick: Don't treat her like a baby.
Matt: She is a baby. What are you talking about?
Patrick: Keep your voice down. She's crying.
Matt: What?
Patrick: Just try it again with a good car sound. Vroom-vroom.
Matt: [Imitates Patrick] Like a hemi. I'm sorry.
Robin: This patient's potassium level is low.
Epiphany: It was yesterday.
Robin: That's why I wanted her put on 80 milligrams of Laxinol.
Epiphany: But no one ordered a chem panel this morning.
Robin: Then order a chem panel.
Epiphany: I did. I'm waiting for the results.
Robin: Didn't you just say that you... never mind. The point is that all of the meds are behind schedule for this afternoon, and Mrs. Diez is due for an insulin shot.
Leyla: Oh, she got it.
Robin: No, it says -- you're right. Sorry. I don't know what's wrong with me.
Lainey: I do. Let's take a walk.
Robin: Not right now. I'm working.
Epiphany: I've got it all under control. Go.
Lainey: It's okay, come on.
Robin: I know what you're doing. This is silly.
Lainey: Robin, it's not uncommon for women to have mood swings right after giving birth. We call it the baby blues, and it normally goes away within a few days.
Robin: Yeah, well, in the meantime my little girl is at home crying her eyes out. Believe me, right now I would love to be home with her, taking care of her. But it just so happens that I suck at that, and apparently I'm too moody to even work.
Lainey: What I see is an exhausted woman who's working way too hard to live up to an impossible standard. My advice, and this is as a friend, sign out. Take a slow walk through the park, buy yourself some hot chocolate along the way, and when you get home, instead of competing with Patrick for the title of doctor/parent of the year, you put your feet up and you take a sip of hot chocolate and remember that Emma thinks you're perfect just the way you are.
Nadine: Aunt Raylene, this is Nikolas.
Raylene: Come closer.
Nadine: I've told Aunt Raylene all about you.
Raylene: His silence tells me more. No greater sign of weakness than a man who feels he has to say something.
Nikolas: I'll tell you that your niece is certainly an incredible woman, and I know that you've been a huge influence in her life and I just want to say that it's a pleasure to finally meet you.
Raylene: Well, it's a pleasure to meet the man who had the good sense to snap her up.
Nadine: Well, maybe you should get to know Nikolas a little better before we -
Raylene: And please pay no attention to those yokels, Vance and Bo. Their hearts are in the right place, but their vision is impaired from a romantic perspective. They can't see what's perfectly apparent, that you two are meant for each other.
Nadine: Aunt Raylene, there's something that -
Raylene: I'd like to speak to Nikolas alone.
Nadine: Oh, I don't know if that's a good idea. You don't want to wear yourself out.
Raylene: We're not going to play handball.
Nadine: Okay. You don't have to do this.
Nikolas: It's all right.
Raylene: And I won't bite.
Nikolas: Okay.
Raylene: It's very bad luck to lie to a dying woman. So, you best be truthful. What are your intentions toward Nadine? Lubbock lightning bolts, I dare you to be colorful!
Luke: You played me like a fine Stradivarius.
Tracy: No, you played me.
Luke: No, I didn't. Maybe what I need is a different game of chance.
Tracy: Luke, you lost on purpose so you could avoid answering the question, which, in it of itself, is an answer to the question.
Luke: Well, I can't follow that logic. I'm much too drunk for that. So, here. Observe.
Tracy: Why don't I simplify it then, Luke? You don't want to tell me what you're going to do when Laura gets back, because you know I'm not going to like the answer.
Luke: Choose.
Luke: Hey, the little lady wins.
Tracy: Give her a kewpie doll. Pat her on the head. Tell her, thanks for playing. We're packing up our tent and going home.
Luke: I'm not going anywhere.
Tracy: Your turn to choose.
Luke: Look, yes, I have feelings for Laura. She's the mother of my children. I will always have feelings for her, but my feelings for her in no way diminish my love for you.
Tracy: Choose.
Luke: I already chose, Tracy. I chose you, and yes, it's complicated. I'm a complicated man, but you wouldn't want me to be something I'm not. Would you?
Tracy: It's always fancy dancing, and I don't believe a word of it.
Nikolas: Nadine saved my life, see. She kept me going when I had given up all hope. I care for her very deeply.
Raylene: I notice you didn't use the word love.
Nikolas: Yes. Right. Well, my wife -- I mean, she passed. I loved her very much, and I'm just not sure if I'm ready to or if I'll ever be ready to really love again. You know? But I want you to know -- I don't take Nadine or her feelings for me lightly. I will always honor and respect her.
Raylene: You're a real heartbreaker, aren't you? Not in the bad sense, not some love them and leave them jerk. Nadine could never love someone like that, but she could love a man, a wonderful man, who, for whatever reason, could not love her back.
Nikolas: Honestly, I don't know what's going to happen between me and Nadine.
Raylene: If we knew what was going to happen, cradle to grave, what would be the point of living? One of the great blessings is that we don't know the future. We just have to hope for the best, but be careful with Nadine.
Nikolas: I will.
Raylene: Her heart has been broken before, and her way of dealing with it is to take my example.
Nikolas: Which is what?
Raylene: To stay cheerful. To throw herself into plans and activities, which is a lot better than sitting around staring at your problems.
Nikolas: Yeah.
Raylene: Still, it's a way for Nadine to protect herself, and if she got hurt that way again, I don't know if she would bounce back.
Patrick's voice: It doesn't cheat.
Matt's voice: What are you talking about? There is no possible way that you should have -- I'm not losing. I'm right in front of you, right now.
Patrick's voice: Actually, Emma, Emma, watch this. This is daddy passing Uncle Matt.
Matt's voice: And watch, this is Uncle Matt putting Daddy right into the wall.
Patrick: You can't put me into the -- hey. Emma likes racing.
Robin: So it seems.
Patrick: Oh, that sucks. I'll give you another chance. You want another chance? I'll give you another chance.
Matt: No, it's fine.
Patrick: You sure?
Matt: Yeah, it's fine. I've got to get to the hospital, anyway.
Patrick: Hey, thanks for your help today.
Matt: Sure. Yeah, no problem.
Patrick: And remember, vroom-vroom. Like a good...
Matt: Don't ask. I don't know.
Robin: Bye.
Matt: Bye.
Patrick: Hey.
Robin: If you tell me that Matt is better with our little girl than me, then I give up and we're getting a nanny.
Patrick: I take it work didn't go very well.
Robin: Unless by "well" you mean that I couldn't maintain a single train of logical thought and nearly messed up a patient's meds. Lainey seemed to think that a walk through the park and some hot chocolate would do me some good, but I keep telling myself that I should be grateful. You know, that Emma is here and that she's healthy. She's HIV negative. And I am, I'm grateful. I just, I don't know. I wish -- I just wish I was a better mom.
Patrick: Hey. You are the best mom that Emma could possibly have, and we're going to figure this out together as a family.
Claudia: What are you doing?
Johnny: I wanted to see you, and I thought I'd put Sonny's security to the test.
Claudia: Come on, they could have killed you, John.
Johnny: If they'd have caught me, which they didn't.
Claudia: I hate it when you get like this, all reckless and crazy. You know what, your timing really couldn't be worse. The Russian syndicate is making a move. Sonny thinks it's just a matter of time before they move against us.
Johnny: Hey, well, it's even more of a reason for you not to be here.
Claudia: I'm his wife, John. He's my husband now. Of course I have to be here.
Johnny: You and I are responsible for getting Sonny's kid shot.
Claudia: It was an accident.
Johnny: Sonny's not going to care about that, and if he finds out, he's going to kill you. And now he's not going to have to work very hard to cover it up, because all he's going to do is put a bullet in your chest and blame it on the Russians.
Claudia: He's not going to find out.
Johnny: Yeah, well, I'm not willing to take that risk.
Claudia: What are you going to do?
Nadine: I hope Aunt Raylene didn't say anything too embarrassing about me.
Nikolas: No, no. She's wonderful. I see where you get it.
Nadine: Oh, please. I'm nothing like her. It's so sad what happened. Don't you think? I mean, she fell in love with this lawyer who was married and his wife, well, frankly she's crazier than a June bug. In and out of hospitals, and he was just -- eventually he -- she didn't expect him to leave her or anything, but eventually she did get better enough to get out of the hospitals. But then, I think, they moved away to Florida, I think it was. I don't really know, because she doesn't talk about it anymore. But she doesn't clearly act like she has a broken heart or anything. But, I mean, that's why people say that I acted just like her when --
Nikolas: What?
Nadine: Oh, nothing. That was just -- I didn't want to disappoint her about you and me.
Nikolas: Right. Yeah, I know. Well, I don't blame you. I couldn't disappoint her either.
Nadine: What?
Nikolas: If your Aunt Raylene's last dying wish is to see you married, then that is what we'll do.
Kate: I want you to call New York. Tell them I'm moving up the spring viewing schedule. When they get wind of "Couture's" new circulation numbers, they'll be like well-accessorized rats jumping ship. Oh, speaking of which, why don't I have Maya's new accessory samples? Find out. And also, you know what? These models, no good for Federico's layout. I want new, fresh, interesting faces, okay? That can't be so difficult.
Olivia: All right. All right. Connie, the kid's got enough to keep her busy for the next 10 years. Don't you think you need to take a break?
Kate: Do not refer to me as Connie in the office again.
Olivia: All right, I'll refer to you as whatever you want. Just take it easy.
Kate: Take it easy? You don't think I've taken it easy long enough? I need to show the world that I'm back.
Olivia: You mean, you need to prove something to Carly? It's like you think that she's won because you and Sonny are broken up.
Kate: Okay, Carly set out to keep Sonny and me apart, and guess what? She succeeded. So, I don't know, maybe she can feel what it's like now. Jax and I are getting closer. I can't wait to go that party on his arm and show the world the world officially that we are in this together.
Carly: Lulu. Hi.
Lulu: Hi.
Carly: You look so great.
Lulu: Thanks.
Carly: And you're back at work.
Lulu: I just started today.
Carly: Wow. You must be getting ready for that cocktail party tonight, huh?
Lulu: Please don't ask me about "Crimson." I know that you're having problems with Kate, and I promised her and Jax that I could be professional and stay out of it.
Carly: Okay, I'm not going to ask you anything about the magazine. I promise. I wouldn't put you in a position that's very unfair. I want to know what she's wearing to the cocktail party. That's all.
Jax: Carly. Nice try.
Johnny: I've decided to make a life for myself, away from Dad, away from this family, away from this business. So, don't kid yourself and say that you're doing this for me. If you stay here with Sonny, you are doing this for yourself, Claudia.
Claudia: Hey, if I leave now, it's going to look real suspicious, John. You know, he could get into looking into it, and find out that we were involved in Michael's shooting. It's safer for me to stay here now. [Whispering] Come on. He's right there.
Claudia: Are you okay?
Sonny: I got word on the kid they took hostage. His name is Jake Spencer, Jason's sometimes girlfriend's son.
Claudia: That complicates things.
Sonny: So, yeah, and I'm not going to do anything. I'm not going to make a move against the Russians.
Claudia: No, you can't, because if anything happens to that kid, you'll never forgive yourself.
Sonny: Sounds like you're talking from experience.
