Jax: Well, I wouldn't put it past Carly to work you for information, Lulu.

Carly: Wow, don't interrogate my cousin.

Lulu: What Carly is trying to say is even though you guys are getting divorced, she is still my cousin, and I can talk to her whenever I want.

image

Olivia: Okay, allow me to point out something that you may have missed here. Carly's gunning for you. All right, and why wouldn't she? She walked in on you having sex with her husband.

Kate: Ex-husband.

Olivia: Oh, ex-husband, future husband -- knowing Carly, that's not a distinction that she's likely to make.

Kate: Knowing Carly? Okay, how about knowing your cousin? How about blood is thicker than water? How about, "Gee, Kate, you had a really tough break, but no. No, no. You show up in Port Charles with a chip on your shoulder because I left you and made something of my life, and you have been punishing me ever since, so Olivia, cards on the table. Are you picking Carly over me?

image

Sonny: I don't intend to let Jake get hurt 'cause we're fighting this Russian syndicate.

Claudia: It's out of your control. It's already happening. I'm telling you, you will never forgive yourself. The guilt is unbearable.

Sonny: You say that like you know.

Claudia: I do. I would hate to see another child get caught in the crossfire the way your son was.

image

[Man speaking Russian]

Sam: Okay, we're outnumbered, and they've got a lot of guns, Jason.

Jason: I'll get past them.

Sam: They will drop you before you even get to the door. Come on. I was on Karpov's payroll. I can fake my way inside. Trust me. I will get in.

image

Lulu: You put the money up for "Crimson," so technically you are my boss, but that doesn't mean that you can dictate whether or not I talk to my own cousin on my own time.

Jax: Well, that depends on the topic of conversation. Anything to do with "Crimson" is confidential.

Lulu: This makes me really sad. I mean, I like Kate. I think she's, you know, very good at what she does, even though she's a snob. I mean, everybody knows that she lied about who she is, and yet she still looks down her nose at everybody else, and then on the other hand, you had this great thing with Carly, and you're throwing it all away to be with Kate. I just -- I don't get it.

Jax: Oh, okay, well, let me explain it to you. Kate can't hurt me, let alone break my heart. I had enough of that to last me a lifetime, and I really don't want to have this discussion with you again.

Lulu: Wow, he's really upset. Oh, my gosh, I'm so sorry.

Carly: No, no, I love him, and for a while I didn't blame him for lashing out at me, but what he's doing now -- he's being unfair, and he's being cruel. He only slept with Kate to hurt me, and Kate, I mean, she will get back at me every chance she can.

Lulu: I am so sorry.

Carly: No, don't be. Don't feel sorry for me, 'cause I don't feel sorry for myself. I mean, why should I stay at home every night and cry myself to sleep when I can teach them both a lesson?

image

Kate: Okay, look, I'm going to cut you some slack because you weren't actually here to witness how horribly Carly treated me.

Olivia: Connie, you can't just go dismissing everyone who doesn't agree with you, or why don't you prove me wrong instead?

Kate: Look, Olivia, the fact is Carly knew nothing about my history with Sonny. She knew nothing about my background. She just hated me on principle because I obviously shared a connection with Sonny that she didn't, and she tried to sever that connection.

Olivia: Well, Sonny is the father of her children. I mean, this had to have meant something to her.

Kate: Yes, and I spent months -- months trying to protect that. I did everything that I could. I didn't want to be the tension between the mother and the children. It's because of Carly. She is the one that increased that tension. She badgered me and Sonny every chance she got, and she used those children to try to drive a wedge between us.

Olivia: All right, all right, help me understand this. How did she manage to be dumping all over Sonny and seducing him at the same time?

Kate: Okay, you know what I don't understand, Olivia, is why you keep defending her. I don't get it. Where is all that family loyalty that you go on and on about?

Olivia: I am family, Connie. That's how I know you're rationalizing here. Okay, neither you or Carly are on the side of the angels here, all right?

Kate: I don't know what to do, Olivia. I tried for months to keep the peace with her, and the only gratitude that I got was her trying to drive a wedge between us.

Olivia: All right, look, if you guys want to mix it up, that's fine. You go right ahead, but just so you know, this could wind up costing you big time.

image

Sonny: You know nothing about Michael.

Claudia: You're right. I never met Michael before the accident, but I did visit him once after the shooting.

Sonny: Why would you visit my son at the hospital?

Claudia: Because I wanted to remind myself what it was like to grow up steeped in violence. Michael, Morgan, Johnny, me -- it could have been any one of us, and when you're a kid, you don't understand that. You know that the other kids don't live that way with armed bodyguards and daddy's face plastered all over the news, but when that's all you know, that's your normal.

Sonny: We try to protect our kids.

Claudia: But you can't. That --

Claudia: Kids are always a casualty, and even though I'm luckier than Michael, I have injuries that you can't see.

Sonny: Is that what you wanted to remind yourself when you went to visit my son at the hospital?

Claudia: No, I wanted to remind myself of a promise I made, a promise that I made that I would never have children. I refuse to be part of anything that puts a child in the line of fire.

Sonny: Well, hey, you know what? That's why we're not going to move against the Russians until we know that Jake Spencer is safe.

image

Elizabeth: Is there anyone in your department that can give me an update on the search for my son? Just call me if there's any change, please.

[Knock on door]

Patrick: Hi.

Elizabeth: Hi.

Patrick: Robin told me what happened. We just wanted to make sure you're all right. I said I'd stop by.

Elizabeth: Come in, come in. I was just on the phone with the police again, and there's nothing. They don't know anything.

Patrick: So Jake's still missing.

Elizabeth: He was taken by the Russian mob. Sam and I were ambushed in this cabin, and we tried to keep the children safe, but -- God, it sounds so surreal just to say it out loud.

Patrick: Why would the Russian mob take your little boy?

Elizabeth: I've been involved with Jason Morgan, and this is the world that he lives in. I'm sure you're wondering why a mother with two small children would let them anywhere near that level of violence.

Patrick: Robin told me that Cameron was into cars.

Elizabeth: Yeah, typical boy.

Patrick: So I brought a couple from my collection. I'm sure she told you, I'm somewhat of a racing freak, so --

Elizabeth: Yeah, she's mentioned it before. Thank you. That's really thoughtful of you, and if I had thought more about my son, he'd be home safe in his bed right now.

image

Jason: Okay, let's just say you make it inside, okay? Even if they buy your story about working for Karpov, that doesn't mean they're just going to let you walk out of here.

Sam: I am Jake's best chance.

Jason: Okay, I'm going to give you enough time to get to the back room where they're holding Jake. I'm going to come through the front door. I'm going to shoot anything that moves. You need to grab Jake and get the hell out of there.

image

[Beep]

Man: Bomb is armed. A remote detonator. All you have to do is get Jason Morgan in the building.

Sasha: Good.

[Man speaking Russian]

Sonny: Monitor the pcpd. Let me know if you hear anything on Jake Spencer. It's very important, and the Russians, okay? Thanks.

[Sonny sighs]

Sonny: Don't tell me that's your dinner.

Claudia: Don't tell me you care. Don't ask me to make you any either, because I am not about to stand in the kitchen and be anybody's domestic goddess.

Sonny: Believe me, I wouldn't ask you to make me anything. Besides, I like my dinner without arsenic.

Claudia: Hey, you know what? We're living in the same house. We could try to be nice to each other.

Sonny: Well, that's good, yeah, if your idea of getting along is promise me you'll never cook me dinner.

Claudia: See, you know, what you don't know about me is I'm actually an excellent chef.

Sonny: Yeah?

Claudia: Mm-hmm.

Sonny: If you should say so yourself.

Claudia: My Uncle Rudy taught me that cooking is not a chore. It's a pleasure, and it's what I do to relax.

Sonny: Northern or southern?

Claudia: What?

Sonny: No, you know, in Italy the sauce is the important thing. For me, I like it rustic, you know.

Claudia: You don't cook.

Sonny: Yeah, I do cook.

Claudia: No, you don't.

Sonny: It's how I relax.

Claudia: Well, I'll tell you what. I'll put my sausage and peppers up against yours any day.

Sonny: Yeah?

Claudia: Yeah. Let's go. Come on. I'll meet you in the kitchen.

Sonny: I -- I have a meeting.

Claudia: Some other time. Battle of the chefs.

Sonny: Yeah, some other time.

Claudia: Hmm.

image

Marty: Can I help you, Mr. Zacchara?

Johnny: No, thank you.

Lulu: Hey.

Johnny: You look gorgeous.

Lulu: Thank you.

Johnny: Wow, what's the occasion?

Lulu: Oh, Kate's throwing a cocktail party, kind of a re-launching "Crimson" party.

Johnny: Do you have to be there?

Lulu: Ooh, do you have something better in mind?

Johnny: I figured maybe we'd check out that abandoned garage we were hiding out in. Come on, Kate won't notice if you're a little late.

Lulu: Oh, she will, she will. This is important to her. It's kind of celebrating her coming back to work and partly showing her competitors that she is back on her game.

Johnny: Hmm, sounds bleak.

Lulu: Yeah, well, Maxie and I have to be there, especially 'cause I don't have a rich boyfriend anymore. I need a job.

Johnny: You are going to miss my family's money.

Lulu: No, God, not at all, if it means I have you instead.

Anthony: Well, look who's slumming. Good to see you, John. You saved me the trouble of tracking you down. Now it's time to come home.

Johnny: And what part of "I'm leaving" don't you get?

Anthony: He was always such a moody child.

Johnny: Okay, I'm going to say this for the last time. I'm done with this family. You did that when you made Claudia marry Sonny.

Anthony: I did that for you.

Johnny: Didn't work. I want nothing to do with any of you.

Anthony: Oh, John, you'll always be my son. Nothing can change that.

Johnny: Well, that's an accident of genetics, and you're right. Nothing can change that, but I'm not going to ask you for another dime. I don't want it, and I don't want anything to do with this family business.

image

Elizabeth: Cameron's asleep, but I left the cars right next to his bed, so he'll find them first thing when he wakes up.

Patrick: I wish there was more I could do, Elizabeth.

Elizabeth: No, no, this was really kind of you.

Patrick: Well, Robin and I were both worried, so just -- we wanted to know that you could count on us.

Elizabeth: Well, there's so much -- everyone is in turmoil over Jake. I don't want Cameron to feel like he's not cared for, or worse -- that this is his fault.

Patrick: Why would he think that?

Elizabeth: Because he was there when it happened. Sam and I had made this makeshift tent for him, and we told the boys that they needed to stay there, and he got it, so he did as he was told, but you know, Jake's just too young to understand, and he just must have crawled out, 'cause he's so curious, and he gets into everything these days, and he's not afraid of anything, so I think -- I'm sure one of the men came through the window and grabbed him.

Patrick: I'm sure the police are doing everything possible.

Elizabeth: Jake is such a happy baby. He is -- he laughs all the time, and he's starting to talk. You know, like he's saying -- "ba-ba" means he wants a bottle, and "ammy" means Cameron, 'cause he loves his big brother so much. Cameron told me that he should have kept Jake safe. A child as young as Cameron should never feel that guilt, because it wasn't him. It was me. I did this to my children.

[Man speaking Russian]

[Man speaking Russian]

Sam: I don't speak Russian.

Man: Tell him your name.

Sam: Oh, Sam. My name is Samantha McCall. I used to run shipments for Karpov.

Man: Karpov is dead.

Sam: Yes, I know he's dead, which is the reason why I'm here. He talked about this place, and I figured maybe I could find some work.

Man: As you can see, we have no ships. Without ships, we have no need for pirates, but I bet I could find something for you to do, a girl as pretty as you.

Sam: That's a good question, because I am as useful on land as I am on a ship, maybe even more so. Are you the guy in charge?

Man: Well, that depends.

Sam: Well, I was thinking maybe we could go to another room, some place private.

Man: That's okay. We will stay here. I'll pour you a drink.

Sasha: Sam McCall, what are you doing here?

image

Anthony: John's always been impetuous. When he was still a teenager, he ran away from home. What was the name of that town you ran to, son?

Johnny: Shut up.

Lulu: I'm not interested in what you have to say.

Anthony: Okay then. I'm going to cut right to the moral of the story. It turned out badly for everyone, everyone except John. He got to come home and be safe in the bosom of his family. I just love a happy ending, John, don't you?

Johnny: You're in no position to make threats. Sonny Corinthos runs this family now, and you, well, you're a joke. You're a weak, tired old man.

Sonny: I'm sorry. Did I interrupt a family meeting?

Johnny: You should know that I quit. I'm out of the business, and I'm out of the family. Run it however you want. I don't care.

Sonny: Really? It might not be too late for you after all.

Johnny: Just keep this man on a short leash. I don't want him anywhere near me. Let's go.

Anthony: I'll leave the lights on for you, John.

Sonny: That was a nice moment you had there with John, nice and warm.

Anthony: He'll be back.

Sonny: Yeah?

Anthony: Make no mistake. Whatever happens, John inherits everything in the end.

Sonny: And Claudia gets nothing.

Anthony: Well, that would depend on you. She's your wife, so why aren't you with her? Or better yet, handling that nasty business with the Russians?

Sonny: I made it clear to you, I don't answer to you. Nobody makes a move against Karpov's people until Jake is home safe.

Anthony: You're swayed by emotion.

Sonny: I don't go near a child hostage situation. It's bad for business, and it just gives the Feds something to investigate us. Why am I even talking to you about this anyway? See, it just proves that you need me to run the organization. The Zaccharas aren't what they once were.

Anthony: That's funny. You passing judgment on my family. My son may be ungrateful, but he's not in a coma.

Sonny: I have rules when it comes to children, and that means the Zaccharas do, too. Take Mr. Zacchara home. It's past his bedtime.

image

Ric: It's tragic what happened to that child. It'd be a shame to have that happen to Elizabeth's little boy.

Claudia: You know, you should probably call first before you stop by from now on.

Ric: Well, I would have if I just came to see you.

Claudia: Sonny's not here.

Ric: Oh, yeah? When's he getting back? Oh, that's right. He doesn't check in with you.

Claudia: Do you want a drink?

Ric: Yeah.

Claudia: So, why did you come to see Sonny?

Ric: Just wanted to see if he heard about Jake Spencer.

Claudia: We did, and Sonny won't make a move against the Russians until the child's been recovered.

Ric: He told you that?

Claudia: Yeah.

Ric: And you believe him?

Claudia: Actually, I do. That's the one thing that my new husband and I actually agree on. No child should be caught in the crossfire.

Ric: Well, so it's going well then, huh?

Claudia: I've been in worse situations.

Ric: Don't kid yourself, Claudia. You can't let your guard down for a moment with Sonny.
