Mac: You claim to care about Maxie.
Spinelli: I do care about her.
Mac: Then how can you justify putting her life in constant danger?
Maxie: Don't answer that. You can't blame Spinelli for everything that happens in this town.
Mac: Spinelli made a choice to marry his fate to Jason's. That practically puts him in the middle. Maxie, every other week someone is either getting shot or killed in my jurisdiction. Now they are ripping kids out of parents' arms, you know? And it all stems from the same place -- the mob.
Maxie: Yeah, but Spinelli is a computer guy, not a hitman. And you're missing the point that matters the most -- he is my best friend. He does make me a better person and that makes Spinelli essential to my life.
Mac: Maxie, you don't understand. You won't have a life if you keep hanging around with this guy. Stay away from my daughter. Do you understand? Starting now, or I'll haul you down to the station, lock you up, charge you with whatever I can think of and let your attorney sort it out later. My guess is, if I throw enough against the wall, something's going to stick.
Maxie: Will you please stop threatening him.
Spinelli: Okay, there's no need to furrow your beautiful brow. I will not be swayed from Maximista's side.
Carly: You can't possibly feel sorry for Kate.
Jax: You ambushed her.
Carly: With a dress?
Jax: Yes.
Carly: Considering the ammunition I could have used, I was quite nice.
Jax: That was pretty childish, showing up at a party wearing exactly the same dress as Kate.
Carly: Yeah, but you couldn't take your eyes off me.
Jax: It's a nice dress.
Carly: Why would you settle for a fake imitation when you could have the real thing anytime you wanted?
Sonny: What happened?
Patrick: I'll fill you in. First, I need antiseptic and bandages if you have them.
Sonny: Okay, first aid kit. Set up a guest room. Go, go.
Claudia: Wait, I'm sorry, excuse me? What the hell is going on, and why is this our problem?
Elizabeth: Jake? Jake, hi, baby. Hi. Oh, my baby. Thank you. Thank you. Hi. Hey, guys, look who's home.
Lucky: We were so worried about you.
Elizabeth: He looks good, doesn't he?
Cameron: Yeah.
Elizabeth: Can you say hi to your brother?
Cameron: Hi, Jakey.
Elizabeth: Jake, are you hungry? You want to go inside? Cameron, you think you can help Daddy make him a baba?
Lucky: Can you help me?
Elizabeth: Why don't you guys go inside and I'll be in in a minute, okay?
Lucky: Okay, it's okay.
Elizabeth: Okay.
Lucky: Thank you. Thank you both for saving Jake.
Sam: Yeah, I'm just really grateful I could help.
Lucky: Come on. How about some popcorn? You want some popcorn?
Cameron: Me!
Lucky: All right, let's do it.
Cameron: Yay!
Lucky: Popcorn.
Elizabeth: My heart is so full of gratitude right now, I don't even know how to express it.
Jason: You should be thankful to Sam.
Mac: You know, I didn't want to play this card, but you leave me no choice. I've been too lenient over the years with you, with Georgie, with Robin, especially when it comes to some of the whack-jobs you've chosen to hang out with. Those days are over. I'll tell you how it's going to be. No more Spinelli. That's it. I forbid you to see him.
Maxie: I'm over 18. You can't forbid me to do anything.
Mac: I can while you're living under my roof. That's the new rule. And if you can't abide by it, well, you're going to have to find your own place to live, Maxie. And if you do that, if you find your own place, I'm cutting you off, all right? You can't take the car.
Spinelli: Okay, if I may interject, perhaps we've entered into that unique hyperbolic territory that only rears its head when otherwise loving family members find themselves on opposite sides of an issue-related spectrum.
Mac: What?
Maxie: It doesn't matter. I'm not going to close the door on my friendship with Spinelli. And if that means that I'll have to move out and I'll be scraping by, using public transportation, then I will chalk it up as a growing experience.
Mac: I'm not backing down.
Maxie: So be it.
Mac: Fine.
Maxie: Fine.
Mac: Proud of yourself?
Spinelli: The Jackal -- the Jackal's heart is warmed by your unwavering loyalty and ferocious defense, but your homelessness is not a desirable outcome. Perhaps you should just go after him and --
Maxie: And what? Apologize? Cave in to Mac's blackmail? Let him pull me away from the one person I actually look forward to seeing every day? I don't think so.
Spinelli: What will you do?
Maxie: I'll do exactly what I said I would. I'll move out. I mean, I think that it's time.
Carly: We should be honest with each other. I mean, at this point, what do we have to lose? The only thing attractive about Kate is that you know it drives me crazy to think about you with her.
Jax: No, that is your world Carly. Your world.
Carly: But you know I'm right.
Jax: It's not going to work.
Carly: What's not going to work?
Jax: You trying to seduce me.
Carly: I think you should relax and enjoy it and feel free to take advantage of it.
Jax: You can't seduce me back.
Carly: You can't tell me you're not tempted. I know you better.
Jax: Being tempted and following it through are two different things, okay? What do you want to hear -- you make every other woman pale in comparison?
Carly: I'd love to hear that from you.
Jax: We're over, okay? It's done.
Carly: Really?
Jax: Yeah.
Carly: Then why are you still wearing your wedding band?
Sonny: You might want to rethink that ungracious attitude.
Claudia: I'm not trying to be nasty. I just want to know why Olivia is here bleeding all over our couch.
Sonny: It's my couch. What happened?
Olivia: I was walking on the docks.
Sonny: Yeah?
Olivia: I was minding my own business. I came upon this woman, a blonde woman with a Russian accent. She was talking on her phone about some kidnapped baby in an explosion plot that went wrong. She saw me. She pulled a knife. She tried to kill me. I was fighting her off when Patrick had the very good idea to -- to wander through. Thank you very much, by the way.
Sonny: Did you see the woman?
Patrick: No. My attention was on Olivia.
Claudia: Okay, so let me understand this. You found Olivia stabbed, and your first instinct was to bring her here, not a hospital? I don't know --
Patrick: I tried to get her to the hospital. Olivia insisted.
Sonny: Okay, not that I mind, but I am just curious. Any particular reason, Olivia?
Olivia: My son.
Sonny: I don't understand. What does Dante have to do with any of this, Olivia?
Olivia: You really don't pay attention, do you?
Sonny: What?
Olivia: What was I so upset about the last time the Russians put me in the hospital, huh? Don't strain yourself. My son. The same holds true. You know, if he found out that I got stabbed, the kid would flip into next week, all right? And so would Connie and you know it. She'd get all high-handed and bossy. She'd be -- she'd be calling Dante. She'd have him here in 2.2 seconds and you know it. And they'd both be hovering, worrying. I can't have that right now. Especially, since Doc and I are in agreement here. I'm going to be fine, right, Doc?
Patrick: I examined you in less than ideal conditions. I do need a better look.
Claudia: Oh, you know, I'm sure that Max and Milo would be happy to take both of you over to Kate's. What? It's right across the lawn.
Sonny: Olivia just said she doesn't want Kate to know about this.
Olivia: Look it. I know that this is a terrible inconvenience, okay? I don't intend to put either one of you out. All I need is a quiet place, Patrick here can stitch me up, and I will be on my way.
Sonny: No, no. You know what? You're going to stay as long as you need to stay. Get our guests upstairs. Patrick, do you need anything from me?
Patrick: Max, keep pressure on her.
Sonny: Talk to me about anything, what?
Patrick: Show me where your medical supplies are.
Sonny: Come on.
[Olivia gasps and groans]
Carly: It's a really simple answer to a really simple question.
Jax: It's --
Carly: You're still wearing this because you want us to still be married. So do I.
Jax: No, it's habit, okay? I should have taken it off. You're absolutely right.
Carly: But you didn't take it off, Jax.
Jax: I didn't take -- because technically we're still married, okay? And out of respect, I wanted to --
Carly: Out of respect?
Jax: Keep it on until we were divorced.
Carly: Respect. So in what reality is it respectful of our marriage for you to have an affair with Kate?
Jax: I'm not having an affair with Kate.
Jax: No, I slept with her once and that's it.
Carly: I could get past that. I could. You just tell me you were angry and you were hurt and were lashing out because --
Jax: No, I slept with Kate because it was irrevocable, okay? It represented moving on. I don't want to keep doing this breaking up and getting back together, breaking up and getting back together. Being with Kate, it was easy and fun.
Carly: You slept with Kate because you wanted to get back at me for being with Sonny.
Robin: Hey.
Mac: Hi.
Robin: You sounded frantic. What's going on?
Mac: I'm sorry; I didn't realize you had to bring Emma.
Robin: Oh, no, it's fine. We were already out what's up?
Mac: I had it out with Maxie about Spinelli. Serious miscalculation.
Robin: You had it out? As in, what, issued an ultimatum?
Mac: I don't know what I was thinking. I mean, Maxie is just as stubborn as I am. Where did I think it would go?
Robin: Okay, let me guess. You dug in your heels, saying something obnoxious like, "my house, my rules", and then Maxie called your bluff?
Mac: If I didn't know any better, I'd swear you'd been there.
Robin: I don't know why you're so hard on poor Spinelli.
Mac: Poor Spinelli?
Robin: Yes. He is a sweetheart. Did you know that he made little bird seed bundles with me and Maxie for my wedding? Not Patrick -- Spinelli. Patrick couldn't get out of here fast enough. And you can't deny that he is a really good friend to Maxie. I mean, he'd take a bullet for her.
Mac: Yeah, that's right. My point exactly. You know, that scenario is not farfetched, Robin. Look, Spinelli is Jason Morgan's personal hacker. He's a criminal by association at the very least. He's a target and a social misfit. I mean, why would Maxie get involved with a loser like that anyway?
Robin: He's not a loser, and we appear to be veering off-topic. So what is it that you want from me?
Mac: Stop Maxie from moving out.
Maxie: You were wonderful.
Spinelli: I was?
Maxie: Yeah, well, you stood up to Mac like you do it everyday. I'm very proud of you.
Spinelli: Well, I'm overwhelmed by such praise, but the patriarch of law and order had some valid points.
Maxie: No, he didn't.
Spinelli: He's just concerned about the safety of your lovely person, worried that some blow-back from my chosen life might land on you and I share those concerns.
Maxie: Well, I don't. I feel perfectly safe around you.
Spinelli: You are defiantly refusing to acknowledge certain facts. We are in a time of civil war. And anyone even peripherally associated with the gangster element is fair game. And that includes me and therefore, you.
Maxie: Not seeing you is not an option for me. And as for the so-called danger, I'll just have to live with the possibility and take reality as it comes.
Spinelli: Has anyone braver ever walked this green earth?
Maxie: I am not brave. I'm selfish. And I wouldn't want to know the type of person I would be without you in my life. I meant what I said to Mac. You really make me a better person, Spinelli. And no one, no matter who it is or how much I love them, will dictate you out of my life.
Spinelli: I am flattered, and I have to say, somewhat taken aback by this passion.
Maxie: Usually I'm so busy and stressed by all the work responsibilities I have, so listen to me because I'm only going to say this one time. You are an incredible man. You are funny and considerate and smart. And given the chance to have one hour with you or happily ever after with somebody else, I would take that one hour -- depending on who the happily ever after was attached to. But seeing as how there is no one in my life that's like that right now, I mean, what I said was how I felt, so that's the truth. Right?
Spinelli: Right. But now your admirable stance has precipitated the necessity for an unexpected residence relocation.
Maxie: Yeah, well, I was only staying with Mac for that long because I think he still really misses Georgie. But, I mean, I'm a grown woman now and I have a career, and thanks to you, my best friend, a social life that doesn't suck. So why shouldn't I have my own place?
Spinelli: You sound sure.
Maxie: I am sure.
Spinelli: Well, okay, but in the meantime, you'll need a place to lay your lovely head. I hope you'll consider Stone Cold's house at your disposal.
Maxie: Oh, no, no, no. I don't think that is a good idea. That would be very bad timing. And Jason's got a lot of stuff going on. If I stay there, that would only distract him. Besides, I don't want to interrupt any more intimate moments between Sam and Jason.
Spinelli: Intimate moments? I'm sure you don't believe that Stone Cold and fair Samantha --
Maxie: Please, all that danger and drama and two adrenaline junkies like Sam and Jason? I bet after they rescued baby Jake, they went back to the penthouse and were banging like bunnies.
Sam: Jason is being modest. Actually, he is the one who figured out how to get Jake out of the roadhouse. I just -- I was there to assist.
Elizabeth: All that matters is that my son is home. And if Jason says you're responsible, then I am forever indebted to you.
Sam: Really? Because you don't owe me anything.
Elizabeth: I'm going to go inside to be with my boys, but I'll send Lucky out because I'm sure he'll want to thank you himself.
Sam: You okay?
Lucky: Sam, thank God you're safe.
Maxie: I figured you would call for reinforcements, but it's not going to work because I'm moving out and there's nothing either of you can do to change my mind.
Mac: How about this? I was wrong to give you an ultimatum. You're an adult, okay? You're entitled to choose your own friends. It won't be easy. I'll try to keep my opinions to myself. Agree to disagree? You don't have to leave.
Maxie: Mac, I love you and I really do understand why you were concerned, but this isn't about Spinelli anymore. I mean, it's more about me. I think it's time that I stand on my own.
Jax: I don't believe in games, Carly. I don't believe in sleeping with one woman to pay another one back for infidelity.
Carly: So you're going to stand there and tell me you have feelings for Kate?
Jax: No. You're missing the point. Sleeping with Kate was about me, not you. It was about going back to the life that I'm familiar with, an adult relationship without the risk of emotional devastation.
Carly: So I'm just a walking, breathing emotional devastation?
Jax: No, no. You're not someone that I can have a life with, Carly.
Carly: I don't believe that. I don't believe that. We can make this work, Jax.
Jax: Yeah, until the next time or the time after that when you go back to Sonny.
Carly: Oh, Jax.
Jax: No, I just -- I know that I'm to blame in this relationship.
Carly: I don't care about blame. I'm so sick of blame. I'm so sick of who did what wrong or who's responsible. I'm sick of guilt and regret. Those are not the things that I wanted our life to be about.
Jax: I couldn't agree more.
Lucky: So does somebody want to fill me in?
Jason: Yeah, I will. We found Jake in an abandoned roadhouse. There were a lot more Russians than I anticipated, so we decided to go with a diversion -- Sam, a Karpov employee looking for more work. Once the men were distracted, I'd come in firing.
Lucky: That's pretty risky.
Jason: Yeah, and it almost went wrong. I made a lot of mistakes, but Sam was able to grab Jake.
Lucky: Did anyone ever think to call the police?
Sam: Yes, of course. We thought about calling the police, but that came with its own risks. Jason thought it was best that Jake wasn't in the middle of a standoff, so we went through what we thought was best.
Lucky: Jason is not bound by inconvenient things or what's against the law. He just comes in, guns blazing.
Sam: Jake's home and he's safe, right?
Lucky: Yes, yes, okay? You know what? And I'm very grateful to you both. Listen, I need to get back in to my family, so if you can make sure that Sam gets home, I would really appreciate it. I'll call you later, okay?
Sam: Yeah, sure. Go. Be with your family.
