Matt: Oh. We're slammed. So I just saw the lab report. The woman who collapsed, you know, we gave her the medication?
Nikolas: Right. Let me guess. They're all fakes?
Matt: Yes. Placebos. But I spoke with her attending and she's responding fine to the new medication. So that just leaves the remaining eight.
Nikolas: Eight what? Where do you come up with eight?
Matt: Well, we gave the very same medication to 12 patients. Four of them either had bad reactions and sought treatment or listened to our warning and stopped taking them. So that leaves eight. Math was my strong suit.
Nikolas: All right, great. Well, do we have contact information on these people?
Matt: Probably not because when they came in, they lied on their paperwork and that's why they're afraid to come back. On the bright side, when the mayor slammed us in the news, he got my name right. Want my autograph?
Nikolas: Well, we're going to have to get all the prescriptions here in the clinic and just test them.
Matt: All right. Yeah. Sure, that's only going to take half your year's budget. Just -- ok. All right, that's right. I forgot, I forgot. You have a fortune to spend. All right.
Nikolas: Just test all the medications and get me a list of the relevant suppliers, please.
Matt: Do I look like the guy who does lists?
Nikolas: Just do it now. Ok? Somebody's out there profiting off of counterfeit drugs and I want to find out who it is.
Lulu: This isn't a good time.
Kate: More to the point, this is a place of business. So resolve this by the time I'm ready to leave.
Maxie: Logan, you need to get out of here.
Logan: Why should I? Lulu and I were great before you tore us apart.
Lulu: Oh, can we not have that conversation?
Logan: Maxie's not backed off even a little, ok? She's still determined to hurt us.
Maxie: This is so pathetic. She has been over you for months.
Logan: Maxie hates us. She hates us. Ok? And the only way to show her how wrong she is is to show her how good we are together. How we belong. We belong together.
Maxie: I'm going to call hotel security.
Logan: Go ahead. Tell them I said hello. Remember I used to work here as a security guard? Great. Maybe they'll be gentle with you when they throw you out. For old times' sake.
Lulu: Maxie, hang up the phone. You, just leave.
Logan: I'm not going anywhere. Ok? I'm sick of Maxie tearing us apart.
Lulu: I -- I am happy that Maxie slept with you because if she hadn't, I would have never met Johnny.
Logan: No, no, you don't mean that.
Lulu: I do, I do. I'm not going to go back with you, Logan. It really makes me uncomfortable when you ask. It's like you're not hearing me when I say that I am with Johnny, ok? I am committed to him. I am not going to go out with you ever again.
Logan: You could have saved me. But you let this bitch wreck us both.
Claudia: If you're on a murder-suicide mission, Jerry, go right ahead. My father's guards will take you out on sight and your affidavit is sealing me and Johnny's fate.
Jerry: Come on, you're scrambling to buy time for you and your brother. As it happens, I am enjoying my life at the moment. But I am just tired to look over my shoulders. I think Anthony needs to know that if I die, you and your brother will be exposed as accessories in little Michael Corinthos' shooting.
Claudia: Give me 24 hours. Ok? I'll find a way to fix it.
Jerry: At long last, you're an optimist. Tell your father or I will. Time's running out.
Carly: I told Kate that Sonny was going to leave her at the altar.
Jax: No. That's not like you to say something so nasty.
Carly: It's true. If Sonny bolted from his wedding to Brenda, who he really loved, there's no way he's going to marry Kate. And she didn't want to hear it. So now she's taking you to Manhattan, just to prove she can.
Jax: Ok, look. Let's just put aside what you did and why so I can explain to you again that my business from time to time requires me to make a public appearance for the good of the magazine.
Carly: Kate can appear alone.
Jax: No, she can't, because I have a lot of money invested in "Crimson." Which means I have a lot of money invested in Kate Howard, and I just want to protect my investment.
Carly: What about protecting your marriage? Kate is using the magazine to hit on you and you know it.
Jax: Oh, now you're just being unreasonable.
Carly: No, I'm being honest.
Jax: No, you're just -
Carly: I want Kate away from my husband and out of my life. Where are you going?
Jax: I have to go. I'm late. Really. We'll have to talk about this later.
Carly: I don't want to talk about it later.
Jax: Fine. But I have to go. I'm sorry. Bye.
Leyla: Sorry I kept you.
Jerry: Oh, it's all right. I'm actually taking a moment to enjoy this beautiful evening. Do you care to join in?
Leyla: I'm here, aren't I? Usually against my better judgment.
Jerry: You know what, I fear that despite the memorable sex that you're not too thrilled about being seen in public with me.
Leyla: Not so much.
Jerry: Oh. How do I get you to trust me, darling?
Leyla: Growing up around the people that I grew up with, they're -- it allows me to see a certain side of you that other people may not see.
Jerry: Mm. Lovely.
Leyla: It also could be because I'm a bigger idiot than other people.
Jerry: You know I was just telling someone a little while ago that I'm enjoying my life at the moment. Not in the usual risk-taking, adrenaline-pumping kind of way, just -- it's a different kind of enjoyment.
Leyla: How's that working for you?
Jerry: Quite well, actually.
Claudia: Daddy? Daddy, you can't kill Jerry Jacks.
Anthony: You've been told to stay away from the business.
Claudia: If you kill Jerry Jacks, Johnny's going to end up dead.
Anthony: If you're telling me that your brother's life is at stake, I'm going to need details.
Claudia: I did something. I was involved in something that went bad. And Jerry knows about it. If he ends up dead, John and I will both be killed.
Anthony: What the hell did you do? And how is your brother involved?
Claudia: Well, it was about the shooting of Michael Corinthos. When Sonny kidnapped Johnny, we both wanted him dead and John wanted to do it himself. I talked him down and I found another way.
Anthony: So you sent in a guy you knew nothing about. A guy who shot a kid. This is why you don't belong anywhere near the family business.
Claudia: Look, the guy was always reliable in the past.
Anthony: If this ever gets out, Corinthos and Morgan will hunt you and Johnny down and kill you both.
Claudia: That is why Jerry needs to stay alive.
Anthony: You did this to your own brother? You wanted to drag him down because you're a jealous, spiteful slut. And no one knows that better than me.
Johnny: You alone?
Nikolas: What's on your mind there, kid?
Johnny: This isn't easy to talk about. Nikolas: But yet you keep coming back, don't you? Well, I'm going to guess that one isn't about Lulu. Claudia tell you that I know?
Johnny: Claudia and I arranged for Ian Devlin to knock off Sonny. But he ended up shooting little Michael.
Nikolas: Well, Claudia did insist that it was her idea. She said that you didn't know any of the details until after the shooting.
Johnny: Ok, but none of that is going to matter to Lulu. She'd leave me in a heartbeat if she knew I had anything to do with Michael's shooting, so I need to know. I plan on telling her.
[Doorbell rings]
Darrin: Mrs. Jacks.
Carly: Hey.
Darrin: Hi. I'm here to drop off the flight plan for Mr. Jacks.
Carly: Oh. They're at Kate Howard's office. They'll probably leave from there.
Darrin: I didn't realize he was taking Miss Howard again, I'm sorry.
Carly: Why are you apologizing?
Darrin: No reason.
Carly: Come in for a second. You flew with him the last time they went to Manhattan to that charity benefit, right?
Darrin: Did I?
Carly: Did you see something? And I would like the truth.
Darrin: It was weeks ago.
Carly: But if something happened, you would tell me. Because I'm the one who asked Jax to hire you and you know how important loyalty and honesty is to me.
Darrin: And discretion.
Carly: Look, I'm sure Jax has already told me all about it. We don't keep secrets.
Darrin: Then I'll be on my way.
Carly: Darrin.
Darrin: It was nothing.
Carly: Well, I'm sure it was just a lapse in judgment, right? I mean, it's -- it's not like Kate and Jax had sex.
Darrin: I'm sure it was just too much champagne.
Carly: How uncomfortable for you.
Darrin: A little. Not really. Honestly, Mrs. Jacks, it was just a kiss.
Kate: All right. Did we hear from the museum committee yet?
Lulu: Oh, uh, yeah. They said you don't have to make a speech but they still want to thank you and Jax from the stage and Felix from The Times wants to get a quote from you at the event.
Kate: Ok, good. Um, why don't you ride in the elevator with me and bring your notebook. We're not done. Maxie, I want you to text me the quote I sent to Braden last month and I think that's it.
Maxie: Oh, the fax just came through. But Miss Howard's out of the office for the rest of the day. I'll put it on her desk so it's the first thing she sees in the morning. Great. Bye. Oh.
Maxie: Oh, I'm glad you guys came back, there -
Logan: I heard them leave, so I guess that means we're alone, aren't we?
[Knocking on door]
Spinelli: Oh! Maximista has returned to tend to The Jackal -- ooh. Oh.
Carly: Boot up your computer. I need you to do a search.
Spinelli: Oh, yes, the ace of cyberspace is happy to comply, but what are we searching -
Carly: You don't get where Kate Howard is without making enemies, ok? I want you to find every newspaper article, every piece of nasty, ugly, life-destroying dirt. I am so sick of Kate Howard, and I am going to blow her life apart if it's the last thing I do.
Kate: Well, I'm glad you could make it tonight, Jax. "Crimson" needs some exposure, and I have been assured by Maxie that you are quite photogenic.
Jax: Really?
Kate: Mm-hmm.
Jax: Glad to keep the press happy.
Kate: So, I hate to ask, but did Carly give you a hard time?
Jax: No, not at all.
Kate: Ah.
Jax: Yeah.
Kate: I'm sorry, Jax. I know the past few weeks have been exceptionally difficult.
Jax: Well, we'll get through this.
Kate: Yeah, she's her own worst enemy. She works overtime to keep everyone's life in turmoil.
Jax: Carly has been under a lot of strain since Michael was shot.
Kate: I know, Jax, but no matter what I do, Carly continues to treat me unfairly. She came over yesterday specifically to assure me that Sonny would leave me at the altar.
Jax: Yeah, she did say -
Kate: It's sad, really, Jax. She is jealous of me and Sonny. And it only proves how little she appreciates you.
Anthony: When you were a child, we used to call you "the bad seed." This big act you put on about loving Johnny, it's only to manipulate him.
Claudia: You're wrong. Everything I do is for John.
[Anthony laughs]
Anthony: What about that show you put on as a teenager? How did that help your brother? It's always been about you, Claudia. About stealing power and manipulating everyone you could. You're poison. And you're a whore. And like I said, no one knows it better than your own father.
Claudia: Don't you dare blame me. I was 16 years old. You were the adult.
Nikolas: Yeah, you're right. If Lulu knew that you had anything to do with Michael's shooting, it would be over between you. But it would also break her heart.
Johnny: You should know that I will carry the guilt of what happened with me for the rest of my life.
Nikolas: Ok. But as I'm sure you know, I've had some questionable business dealings with Ian Devlin in the past -- paid him a fortune when I knew he was completely unethical.
Johnny: I doubt Sonny or Jason would want to kill you for the small part you played in that, though.
Nikolas: Regardless, I still carry a certain amount of guilt with that. And Lulu has seen more death than any girl her age should. So I'll keep quiet, but if you betray the trust that I just put in you, I'll give you up in a heartbeat.
Maxie: Don't do anything you can't take back, Logan. Why don't you just get on the elevator and we'll pretend that this never happened.
Logan: Now you decide to be reasonable. It's a little too late for that, Maxie. You've already taken everything from me.
Maxie: I admit I didn't realize how much you truly care for Lulu.
Logan: Lulu's gone. She was going to help me turn my life around. You trashed that. She's gone. And now all I'm good for is a little slut like you.
Maxie: No, Logan! No!
[Muffled screams]
Lulu: Johnny? You already home? Is anybody here? Hello?
[Sirens sounding]
[Horns beeping]
Maxie: Logan, please. Oh, my god.
Maxie: Please let me go.
Logan: [Chuckles] Maxie, Maxie.
[Maxie yells]
[Logan yells]

Monday July 14- Part 1 (transcript courtesy of Megasite) Maxie: My dad is the police commissioner, so it'd be pretty stupid to hurt me.
Anthony: I bet your dad loves his daughter. Can you imagine his grief if you were to disappear without a trace?
Maxie: What is it that you want?
Anthony: I want to be your friend. I'm a terrible enemy, but I'm a terrific guy to have on your side, especially when someone helps me help my son. So you show me that you're as smart as you are pretty. Tell me how Logan Hayes really died.
Maxie: Fine. I'll tell you everything.
Spinelli: For what purpose do you enter Stone Cold's inner sanctum?
Johnny: Lulu left me a message that she came to see you and that you said it was important.
Lulu: Spinelli was just telling me that he's investigating Logan's murder.
Jason: If you're going to shoot me, you better do it soon. You never know when a witness might show up.
Claudia: You don't think I have the guts?
Jason: Killing me does nothing to protect your brother.
Claudia: Only one way to find that out.
Jax: What's going on?
Sonny: Go ahead, Carly. Tell your husband what we're talking about.
Carly: Okay, I guess we should get it all out in the open.
Carly: I've done something you should know about.
Carly: I called the tabloids and had Marty let the reporters up. I also fed them the story that Kate had an affair with Warren James.
Sonny: An affair that never happened.
Carly: Are you so sure about that?
Jax: You set me and Kate up? Why would you do that?
Carly: Because I don't like her.
Jax: Because you don't like her?
Carly: Yeah.
Jax: And I'm just collateral damage. So what if I get ambushed along the way as long as you're satisfied?
Carly: No, I'm --
Jax: Is that how it works?
Carly: Sorry that you were involved and you were hurt. But that ambush is the least of what Kate deserves and I would do it again.
Jax: Yeah, no doubt. You'd do anything to undermine Kate. You can't stand the fact that she's marrying Sonny, can you?
Carly: I don't give a damn that she's marrying Sonny. I don't like that woman because she's half responsible for what happened to Michael and she doesn't have the guts enough to own it, or stay the hell away from my husband.
Jax: You know, the rumor that your husband is having an affair with his business partner is about to be splattered all over the tabloids. So who exactly ends up embarrassed here?
Carly: Kate, and maybe that will teach her to stay away from you.
Jax: I'm not having this fight again because I've just stopped giving a damn about what you do.
Sonny: You're about a heartbeat away from losing that guy. And when Jax finally divorces you, don't even think to come back to me.
Johnny: You're working on Logan's death? What did you find?
Spinelli: That I have failed miserably as a private investigator.
Johnny: That's hard to believe.
Spinelli: But true nonetheless. Not even the slightest clue as to the simian's slayer.
Johnny: Why did you call Lulu here if you have nothing?
Spinelli: You know, the Jackal and -- and -- and the blonde one spent many hours discussing the -- the relative demerits of her knuckle-scraping suitor and the Jackal would frequently caution her towards the crabby commando's unworthy ways. But the fair one, in her grand benevolence, always sought to see the good in him. So -- meaning that undoubtedly she was experiencing a deeply disturbed psyche. So the Jackal's great hope was to ease her -- ease her pain by discovering Logan's killer. But, alas, I have no such news.
[Lulu clears throat]
Lulu: Okay, Spinelli, I know that you're trying to help, but I would really appreciate it if you would leave it alone. Thank you.
Maxie: Johnny stabbed Logan Hayes to death.
Anthony: You witnessed this attack?
Maxie: No, neither one of us saw it, me or Lulu.
Anthony: You think very hard about what you say to me and how you say it, because I can always spot a liar.
Maxie: It's the truth. Lulu left the office with our boss, Kate Howard, and I had some things I still needed to talk to her about. You know, rewrites on articles, stuff like that. And I followed her across the street to Johnny's building. We rode upstairs in the elevator together. And by the time we got to Johnny's door, it had -- it had been smashed in. Logan used an axe. How crazy is that? Lulu completely freaked out. You know, she and Logan used to be in a relationship together. I was involved with him once, too, although not in the same way Lulu was -- sorry. When we got there, Johnny explained to us what happened with Logan. He said Logan showed up and just snapped and attacked him and they fought. So Johnny was defending himself. And Claudia showed up after that and pretty much took over. She told me and Lulu that we had to leave. So, of course, we did. And that's all I know about what happened.
Anthony: What was the article?
Maxie: Excuse me?
Anthony: The rewrites that you and Lulu were coordinating.
[Maxie sighs]
Maxie: Are skinny belts back? Because this year, we've seen a trend with high --
Anthony: Enough of the fashion report. You know what I find shocking? Lulu's brother is a detective and your father is the police commissioner, and yet neither of you girls called a cop.
Claudia: What are you doing at my car? And why do you think Johnny killed Logan?
Jason: There's video footage of this car right here coming and going from Nikolas Cassadine's clinic right around the time the body was dumped.
Claudia: My car? What -- that's not possible.
Jason: You know what? The driver looked like Johnny. Somebody was in the passenger's seat. Was it you, Claudia?
Claudia: Do you happen to have footage of the license plate?
Jason: Well, that's funny that you ask because these -- these license plates right here have been removed and replaced. You can see the marks right here in the road-grime where they were unfastened. It's pretty recent.
Claudia: That's -- that's thin, Jason. If I'm on a jury, I'm not convinced.
Jason: Well, you know what? Evidence is circumstantial, but it all points to Johnny as the killer.
Claudia: Why do you care?
Jason: Because I'm the first one the cops investigated. I have to prove my innocence.
Claudia: You didn't spend the night in jail, so right now that makes you a lot better off than my brother.
Lucky: Police! Hold it right there. Put your hands in the air.
Sonny: When's it going to sink in? I'm in love with Kate. I'm going to marry Kate. Nothing you do is going to sabotage that.
Carly: Oh, my --
Sonny: Can't you see that? I mean, what's the big deal?
Carly: Marry Kate.
Sonny: Right.
Carly: Marry shallow, narcissistic Kate. You can follow her around and be Mr. Kate Howard. I don't care.
Sonny: You know what? Stop -- stop trashing her. Why do you do that? You're embarrassing yourself. You're a -- you're a married woman. Why do you keep attacking the woman I love?
Carly: I am so glad you love Kate because she's all you got. You don't have anything else.
Sonny: No, what I don't have are my children because you and Jason took them from me.
Carly: Why? Why do we take them from you, Sonny? Why don't you have them anymore?
Kate: Excuse me. Why is Carly here and why is she yelling at you?
Carly: Because, you know what, Kate? It's what we do. It's called foreplay, sometimes better than the sex itself.
Jax: Hey.
Morgan: Hi.
Jax: Where's Mercedes?
Morgan: In the kitchen making lunch.
Jax: Really? How was your karate class?
Morgan: Great.
Jax: You want to show me some moves?
Morgan: Okay.
Jax: Okay.
Morgan: Ya! Ya! Ya! Ya!
Jax: That was awesome. Good job.
Morgan: Are you coming to my test on Saturday?
Jax: I wouldn't miss it for the world.
[Knock on door]
Spinelli: Esteemed father of Mr. Sir. Come in.
Mike: Hey.
Spinelli: Had -- had the Jackal known that you'd be delivering his order with your own hard-working and hallowed hands, I would have been --
Mike: Well, actually, I just -- I just like to get out from behind the counter every once in a while, Spinelli. Here.
Spinelli: Deepest gratitude.
Spinelli: If the esteemed father would like to join the Jackal in his repast, I -- you know, I'd -- I'd be more than happy to share, although I fear a single grilled cheese sandwich with fries and a side-salad sans tomatoes might not go too well --
Mike: Well, no, look. Actually, I was hoping we could talk about the situation between Sonny and Jason.
Spinelli: The Jackal is not privy to the -- the details of the agreement severing the former business partnership of Stone Cold and Mr. Sir. Perhaps -- perhaps the brusque lady of justice is your lady for this --
Mike: Spinelli, I'm not asking for privileged information here. I -- I think that the best decision Sonny ever made was getting out of the mob and turning the reins over to Jason. What I'm worried about... is that he won't be able to let go. And I'm wondering if he's been showing up at the office, you know, offering advice, that kind of thing.
Spinelli: The esteemed father is attempting to gauge whether Mr. Sir will resume the mantle of power, as it were?
Mike: Yeah, well, you know, I wouldn't put it quite so colorfully, but yes.
Spinelli: Mr. Sir has stopped by what is now Stone Cold's office on a number of occasions, and the Jackal senses it did not end in brotherly accord. You know, if the Jackal may offer a hypothesis, it seems Mr. Sir is angry at Stone Cold for taking over, when it was Mr. Sir himself who wished to renounce the business in the first place.
Mike: Yeah, well, that's how addiction works, Spinelli. I mean, even though something is bad for you, I mean even to the point of ruining your life, doesn't mean you want it any less. In fact, you want it more. And there are no 12-step programs for mob bosses who decide to -- to give up their territory.
Spinelli: A most troubling oversight by those of the rehab persuasion.
Mike: That's why I'm hoping that -- that this marriage to Kate will be enough to sustain Sonny, to --
Spinelli: Has the esteemed father visited any online gossip sites of late?
[Mike chuckles]
Mike: No, why?
Spinelli: Well, depending on Mr. Sir's tolerance for compromising photographs and the fashionista's capacity to explain away apparent infidelity --
Mike: Hey, hey, whoa, whoa, whoa. Are you saying that Kate was unfaithful?
Spinelli: That matter is open to interpretation, as it were.
Mike: Okay, okay, interpret for me.
Spinelli: The fiancée of Mr. Sir was photographed on her knees, in the back of a limo, with her face in close proximity to... the belt buckle of Jasper Jacks.
Maxie: Logan's father is Scott Baldwin. Scott's a special prosecutor, remember? And Scott already tried to railroad Johnny after Johnny and Logan had that fight in the Metro Court lobby. And there's no proof that Logan tried to attack Johnny before Johnny killed him, so -- I mean, Scott would probably charge him with murder.
Anthony: You thought of everything.
Maxie: No, it was Johnny that said Scott would come up with the murder charge and that we should dump the body and keep quiet.
Anthony: That's a decision made in the panic of the moment. Question, dear. Is your conscience tempting you to tell your father the truth?
Maxie: My conscience hardly ever tells me anything. I haven't said a word, and I won't. It's just me and Johnny and Claudia and Lulu and now you. And this guy, but he seems like the quiet type.
Anthony: Somehow, I -- Lulu doesn't strike me as being the pragmatist you are.
Maxie: Lulu loves your son. I'm sorry, but she does. She'll do anything to protect Johnny.
Anthony: Actually, I wouldn't mind if that were true. Because if I ever believed that you and Lulu had betrayed my son, I would hate to see something happen to you two pretty kitties. But make no mistake. I will kill you and Lulu, both. Go away now.
Anthony: Well, that went very well.
Harper: A witness saw a vehicle matching this description leave the clinic after Logan Hayes' body was dumped.
Claudia: Lots of people have this make and model, boys.
Lucky: The victim didn't work for them. Add to that your brother was arrested for publicly assaulting Logan Hayes.
Harper: We have probable cause to impound this vehicle and have forensics look at it.
Claudia: Wait, you're not touching my property until my lawyer gets here.
Lucky: You know what? You can call him from the station.
Claudia: You have no reason to arrest me.
Harper: You're here with a suspect and what could be the means of transport for a murder victim. It's enough to take you both in for questioning.
Claudia: It's my car. What, I'm not supposed to be standing next to my own car?
Harper: And what are you doing here, Morgan?
Jason: I got nothing to say without my attorney.
[Harper chuckles]
Harper: You know, some people find you annoying, Morgan. I actually enjoy it when you refuse to cooperate. It means we can take you downtown and hold you for at least 48 hours. Let's go.
Lucky: You have the right to remain silent.
Johnny: Spinelli was lying.
Lulu: Right before you came in, he said he knew who Logan's killer was and I thought he was going to say me.
Johnny: No, he thinks it was me and he has some sort of evidence against me. I need to know what it is and if he's going to take it to the cops.
Lulu: Well, Spinelli's a genius. He can access any surveillance system that exists. But Claudia took care of that, right? You said when you took the body downstairs, she made sure any of the closed circuit cameras were disabled.
Johnny: Well, yeah, nobody saw us here. But who knows what happens when we left the building? Damn it. I knew we should've dumped him in the lake.
Lulu: No, you didn't kill Logan. I did. I need to tell the truth.
Maxie: I need you to get rid of all the evidence you have on Logan's murder. No, no, no, no. I need you to hack back into those security cameras and get rid of all the footage. Corrupt the files. I don't care how you do it, Spinelli, just do it.
Spinelli: Why would Maximista make such a request when she knows I'm working on direct orders from Stone Cold --
Maxie: This was a really bad idea to get involved.
Spinelli: Stone Cold gave me very definitive instructions.
Maxie: Jason doesn't need to worry. He's the -- the god king of all hit men. But you're not and I'm not. And if Anthony Zacchara decides that he's going to protect Johnny and we're in the way, he's going to kill us both. Do you understand that?
Spinelli: Why -- why bring up the mob prince? Do you have evidence that he's culpable in the unworthy one's murder?
Maxie: No, you forget that I said that last part, all right? You just have to promise me you're -- you're not going to say anything about this to anyone, okay?
Spinelli: What -- what's wrong? Are you okay?
Maxie: I've never been so scared in my whole life.
Jul 15, 2008 10:48
Mac: Two arrests in one day? Going for a record?
Harper: We went to impound Ms. Zacchara's vehicle. Morgan was standing next to it. Killed two birds with one stone.
Lucky: Three birds. Ms. Zacchara was there, too.
Claudia: Oh, gee, yeah, imagine me thinking I should be able to get into my own car. I want my phone call.
Mac: Fine. Put them in interrogation one.
Harper: Morgan, you know the way.
Claudia: My phone call.
Mac: Right now, all the lines are busy.
Lucky: You know, I don't think Jason's involved with the Zaccharas.
Mac: Maybe not.
Claudia: There's no need to tell the cops what we were talking about in the garage.
Jason: I don't talk to cops without my attorney.
Claudia: Thank you.
Jason: I'm not your problem. As soon as the cops run forensics on your car, you and your brother are going to be charged with murder.
[Door slams]
Carly: Well, at least you hung around to say goodbye.
Jax: I wasn't going to. Morgan was all excited about his karate test this weekend, so now I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place.
Carly: I guess I'm the hard place.
Carly: So you're off to see Brenda?
Jax: You're just determined to blow us to bits, aren't you?
Carly: I'm not the one who packed their bag, Jax. So what you're saying is, if it weren't for Morgan, you'd be out the door.
Jax: This isn't just about Morgan. This is about you determined to get revenge for a kiss. You want to hurt Kate when you know that it's hurting me as well. You know what it feels like? It feels like you don't even give a damn that we're married.
Kate: Carly called the reporters?
Sonny: Are you ready for this? She actually let them in and fed them the whole story.
Kate: About me and Warren.
Sonny: Yeah.
Kate: That I was having an affair with him.
Sonny: I'm sorry. I don't know what else to do.
Kate: Don't, don't, don't apologize for her pettiness. She's bitter and she is angry. Sonny, I am trying to be understanding because of the situation with Michael, but when she hurts you and hurts Jax --
Sonny: She's lashing out at everybody. What I don't like is that she's lashing out at you. You do not deserve that.
Kate: Well, don't worry about me. I'm worried about you. Look at how she makes you.
Sonny: You don't have to worry about me. Because you know what? It's -- it's -- look, she is trying to convince you that we still have this -- this special connection between us and we don't. It's -- it's done. It's ugly. It's destructive. And I wish to God it would stop.
Kate: Then stop it. Stop it. Just stop it.
Sonny: You say that --
Kate: Do you have any idea how many people tried to warn me that you and Carly always find your way back to each other? You see this? This is exactly how it starts.
Sonny: I don't want Carly. You got to believe that -- that you're the one I want to spend the rest of my life with.
Kate: I do believe in you, Sonny --
Sonny: Okay, so what are you saying to me?
Kate: We are going to spend the rest of our lives together. But for our sanity, you need to disengage from Carly. When you feel your blood pressure starting to rise, you need to turn around and just walk out of the room. Let her rant and rave. Let her embarrass herself. When she sees that it's not working, she will move on to someone else and make their life miserable.
Sonny: Sounds great. But the thing is, Carly never quits.
Claudia: Johnny and I are not amateurs. The cops aren't going to find anything in that car. I'll be home before dinner. What, you think I'm kidding myself?
Jason: The harder you try to cover this up, the worse it's going to get.
Claudia: What do you suggest?
Jason: Damage control. Get Johnny to cut a deal.
Claudia: It wasn't John's fault. Logan Hayes had a screw loose. He flipped out over Lulu. John was just protecting himself. But you know, it would literally be like you trying to claim self-defense. Some people just don't have that luxury.
Jason: Then you need to get a lawyer.
Claudia: Well, which one would you suggest that I leave my brother's life with, Ric or Trevor?
Jason: There's other lawyers out there.
Claudia: Well, could you recommend one for me? I know you were on trial for murder. Look, we're stuck in here anyway. We have some time. Why don't you tell me what that was like?
Maxie: Why is this all coming down on me? I mean, I'm -- I'm the one scrambling to cover this up. I'm the one getting threatened by a mob boss, and if I -- if I'm freaking out, is Lulu going to be able to handle it? What's going to happen to me if she cracks?
Spinelli: Okay, it's clear that you know much more about the crabby commando's death than you previously implied. If you could just bring yourself to confide in the Jackal, maybe I can help.
Maxie: No, forget it. Forget I said anything. I'm fine. Oh, man, I should not be rambling like this. I'm really sorry, Spinelli. See, the problem is that I haven't been getting a lot of sleep, and my blood sugar's really low. I'm disorganized. You cannot repeat anything that I've said to you.
Spinelli: No one can know Maximista has low blood sugar?
Maxie: I'm serious. This has to be between you and me.
Spinelli: The Jackal is nothing if not discreet and loyal, and if you are in trouble, which it appears you are, please let me help. Please?
Maxie: Johnny didn't kill Logan. Lulu did.
Johnny: I cannot let you admit that you killed Logan.
Lulu: I want to tell the truth.
Johnny: We already disposed of all the evidence. A cover-up only makes you look guilty.
Lulu: I am guilty!
Johnny: All you did was defend yourself. I wouldn't let you go to the cops, and now it's too late. Coming forward now only makes things look worse. We need to sit tight and let this thing play itself out.
Lulu: I can't make you pay for something that I did.
Johnny: I can protect both of us, Lulu, but I need you to swear to me -- listen to me -- that you will not tell a soul that you killed Logan. Can you do that? Please, Lulu.
Anthony: Will you answer the door? Your father doesn't like to be kept waiting.
Trevor: John, this would actually be a great time for Lulu to go home.
Anthony: I don't think so, Trevor. Lulu needs to be part of this conversation.
Sonny: I am not -- listen, hey. I am not going to let Carly get to us, and you know why she can't come between us? Because we've been through too much already, and you know that, right?
Kate: Yes, I knew that she was trouble, okay? I just didn't realize that she would come to hate me so much -- irrationally, I might add -- let alone jeopardize my career, jeopardize my magazine.
Sonny: She can't do anything to your magazine or your career, because you're too good. Come on.
Kate: I work in a business based on perception, and I know that seems shallow, but it's critical to success, so if Carly wants to make me a laughing stock, she is well on the way to achieving her goal.
[Elevator opens]
Diane: Well, there's the happy couple. I have some contracts for you to look over.
Kate: Oh, Diane, I'm sorry. I was supposed to call.
Diane: I know, you've been busy. You've been all over the media.
Sonny: No, don't go there.
Kate: She wasn't here when the press were snapping at my heels. She doesn't know.
Diane: Well, the press is easily neutralized. All you have to do is threaten to sue them for libel, but why would you want to?
Kate: Thanks, thanks, Diane. Thanks for putting that positive spin on it.
Diane: Positive? Have you surfed the web today? The buzz about you and "Crimson" is hotter than ever.
Carly: I don't know how to make it any clearer. I am hurt and angry that Kate hit on you.
Jax: I'm not proud of myself, Carly, and I'm sorry that I hurt you, and I've told you that it's not going to happen again, but you obviously don't believe me.
Carly: I want to believe you.
Jax: Then why don't you trust me, or better yet, respect me and have some respect for yourself?
Carly: It's Kate I don't respect or trust.
Jax: You know, whatever Kate feels about you stems from how much you dislike her.
Carly: Oh, great, so now this is my fault. You're turning this around, and you're making it my fault, when you chose to ignore my feelings. I was honest with you. I told you I didn't want Kate around you, and somehow that makes me unreasonable.
Jax: You are.
Carly: Really?
Jax: Yes.
Carly: Well, let's see. Kate kissed you, and she is going to continue to hit on you, and I'm not going to stand around here and act like it's not happening, so you have a decision to make. You can stay in business with Kate, or you can stay married to me. Which one would you choose?
Maxie: The first time that Logan showed up at the "Crimson" office, Lulu and I tried to get him to leave. She -- she blew him off, and Logan got really upset and blamed me, and then he left. And then later when Lulu and Kate left, Logan showed up again. He said that he -- he was watching and waiting. He knew I was alone.
Spinelli: What did he do to you?
Maxie: Nothing. I'm fine. He attacked me.
Spinelli: What kind of attack? Did he... did he hurt you?
Maxie: He tried, but I fought back. He threw me over Kate's desk, and I must have hit my head or something, because right before I lost consciousness, I looked, and I saw Logan staring out the window towards Johnny's apartment. And when I woke up later, Johnny was there, and I told him about the window, and we ran across the street. When we got there, Lulu was inside Johnny's apartment. She was completely panicked, and Logan was dead. Logan wanted to kill someone, okay, and -- and Lulu said when she saw him attacking me through the window, she completely freaked out, and then he -- he went across the street. She -- she was just defending herself. She had to protect herself.
Spinelli: Well, why didn't she call for help?
Maxie: Her cell phone died, and -- and she said she couldn't find the land line to call 911, so there's no record that Logan smashed down the door, and --
Spinelli: Right, she couldn't prove self-defense, so you were compelled to cover it up?
Maxie: Well, Johnny wasn't going to let Lulu take the blame. When Claudia showed up, he said that he had done it, and Claudia bought it immediately. She helped him get rid of Logan's body. Spinelli, I don't know how long Lulu's going to be able to keep this secret for. I don't even know if she should, and if this whole cover-up starts to unravel and Johnny is charged with murder, Anthony Zacchara is going to freak out and kill all of us.
Spinelli: The Jackal would never allow anyone to hurt you, ever.
Trevor: Easy, John. Claudia already told us that you killed Logan Hayes and that Maxie Jones and Lulu heard your confession, so all I'm doing here is trying to make absolutely certain that you think this through very clearly.
Johnny: There's nothing wrong with my thinking.
Trevor: I already worked out a defense if the cops come up with enough evidence to charge you.
Johnny: In case you missed something, Trevor, I haven't admitted a thing to anyone, including yourself.
Anthony: Good, I'm glad to hear that. Now, Johnny, the cops, the press, the D.A. -- you have no comment if they dare accuse you of being involved in Logan's murder. Righteous indignation is your friend. Also, don't make up any stupid stories that'll trip you up later. That includes you, too, little girl.
Johnny: Don't worry about Lulu.
Anthony: I worry about everything where you're concerned, John. You're smart, John, but nothing can take the place of experience, so just do everything you're told, and Trevor and I can take care of this. Anyone becomes a problem -- anyone -- they will be removed.
Johnny: Threats against Lulu are no way to get my cooperation.
Anthony: Johnny, I mean this with all my heart. No confessing, no arguing with lawyers, and no taking things into your own hands. If you do what you're told, I can make this go away. If you don't, Lulu pays the price.
Kate: So Diane's an amazing attorney and a good friend --
Sonny: No, she's a great lawyer. Leave it at that. She doesn't know a damn thing about what's good for your magazine.
Mike: Hey, guys. You're here together, and no one's yelling. I think that's a good sign.
Kate: Oh, great. My guess is you saw the photo, too.
Mike: No, someone told me about it, but --
Kate: No, it's -- you know what, Mike? You deserve an explanation.
Mike: No, no, I don't. I don't. I just -- I wanted to tell you that whatever that picture shows, I know that you love my son and that there's no way in hell that you'd be unfaithful to him.
Kate: Thank you, Mike.
Mike: And you... I owe you an apology.
Sonny: Oh, oh, no. What's that? What's going on?
Mike: Well, I completely underestimated you, because I was sure you were going to be furious, so I was ready to come over and do a little damage control, assure Kate that once you cooled down, you'd remember how much you've been through together and how much you loved her. I don't know how you did it, but you -- you got my son to be able to think before he reacts in anger.
Sonny: Well, Mike, you know, there's something about Kate. I trust her, and we're good together.
Kate: Something like that. It goes both ways.
Mike: Well, I'm happy for you both, and I will try from now on to resist the urge to meddle, okay?
Kate: Oh, no, you can meddle all you want, because it means that you care, and we both want that, don't we, Sonny?
Sonny: Yeah, we do.
Jax: You know how I feel about ultimatums. They have no place in a relationship outside of high school.
Carly: You got a better answer?
Jax: Yeah, we shouldn't have to choose. Our marriage should take top priority over all other commitments, except of course, the commitment we have to the little boy that we're trying to raise together. I mean, nothing should be more important than our trust for each other, Carly.
Carly: Well, I agree.
Jax: Look, I made a mistake by kissing Kate. It was -- it was a bad call, and I'm sorry. But we hashed it out last night, and you said that you forgave me. We made love, you fell asleep in my arms, and then you get up. First thing, you go out looking for revenge. I mean -- and you ambush me and Kate, and pay attention to this, because this is the essential point. You jeopardize a major business investment, Carly. I have a lot of money and a fair amount of my reputation invested in "Crimson," and I can't afford it to tank, and I thought you understood that.
Carly: I do.
Jax: No, I really -- no, I really thought that you understood that, but you obviously don't, so let's stop going around in circles and figure out a way to get past this, if we even can.
Carly: No more fights with Kate.
Carly: No more forcing confrontation. I won't mess with her wedding or the magazine, and I will do my very best to completely avoid her.
Jax: Wow, you really think you can do that?
Carly: I said I would do my very best.
Jax: Okay. Okay, well, I will limit my dealings with Kate to strictly business. Not to imply that I can't resist her or anything like that. I'm just doing this to make you feel more comfortable, okay? Because your feelings to me are more important than anything else.
Carly: I can accept that.
Jax: Okay. We can do this.
Carly: I promise you, outside of my kids, there is nothing or no one who is more important to me than you.
Kate: Well, that's not exactly the way it happened, but we don't need to go into that right now. I'll -- I'll give you a call later. Thank you.
Sonny: What happened -- what?
Kate: It's -- it's amazing. It's slightly twisted, but there is a buzz about "Crimson" and a minor media frenzy about me. I have been dubbed the woman who can have it all, according to the tabloids. That means running a business, an affair with a married tycoon, and an engagement to a sexy power broker, which is you.
Sonny: Okay, okay, okay, but you don't have a problem with people thinking that you had an affair with Jax?
Kate: It's ridiculous, but at this point, it might be bad business to disabuse them of that notion. I mean, speculation, keeping them guessing - that's what drives sales through the roof. I think for the sake of "Crimson's" bottom line, Jax and I need to be seen together.
Maxie: I'm sorry. You don't need me dumping all this stuff on you.
Spinelli: The Jackal is here to share any burden, okay? We'll find a way out of this, together.
Maxie: I can't believe how safe you make me feel.
Lucky: As soon as the paperwork is finished, you're both free to go.
Claudia: Why? What changed?
Lucky: We have Logan Hayes' killer.
Trevor: Anthony, I think Lulu has heard enough.
Anthony: I want her here for this. You disappoint me, John. Not for offing Logan Hayes. I don't care about him. Why did you trust Claudia to cover this up? My son, the light of my life, turns to his trampy sister and this little chippy rather than putting his trust in me. It's a slap in my face. Get the door.
Lulu: I cannot keep doing this.
Johnny: Okay, but don't do anything. Don't say anything. We need to sit tight and let this play itself out.
Lulu: This isn't play. Logan is dead. His life is over, and -- and everyone is so busy strategizing that nobody seems to care.
Johnny: Do you trust me?
Lulu: Yes, of course I trust you.
Johnny: Then listen to me. You cannot confess anything. You need to put your faith in me.
Lulu: Only if you agree to run away with me.
Jul 15, 2008 11:09
Tuesday July 15 - Part 1 Lulu: If we leave for Canada right now, no one will even know we're gone. And then we can get a plane from there and go to Mexico or South America --
Johnny: We aren't running away.
Lulu: My father is the king of disappearing. He and mom were on the run all the time. We could just do the same thing.
Johnny: No, listen to me! We cannot run away anywhere. It's too late.
Claudia: You say you have the killer, does that mean you made an arrest?
Mac: I'm not going to discuss an ongoing investigation.
Claudia: Where do I pick up my car?
Mac: Your car is being impounded for evidence.
Claudia: You won't find anything.
Mac: Well, then you got nothing to be concerned about. Since when does Jason Morgan hang around the PCPD when he isn't handcuffed to a desk?
Jason: I'm not leaving without my attorney.
Jax: One thing is more important to me than this. You and me.
Carly: I'm so glad you didn't leave.
Jax: Yeah, so am I.
Carly: It saves a lot of trouble when I don't have to chase you halfway across the world to work things out, you know?
Jax: You don't have to worry about me, Carly. I would never cheat on you with Kate or with anyone else.
Sonny: I get what your career means to you. What you had to give up to be Kate Howard, and, you know, you walked away from part of your history, a part of yourself.
Kate: Yeah, Sonny, you know me better than anyone.
Sonny: Yeah, "crimson" is make or break, right? You put everything you have into this magazine, but I don't understand how it will help you or the magazine to make everybody believe that you're having an affair with jax.
Maxie: I need you, Spinelli.
Spinelli: Uh, oh -- what -- oh.
[Maxie giggles]
Spinelli: Gosh.
Robin: You know, if this whole brain surgery thing doesn't work out, you could have a future as an attorney.
Patrick: I don't think so.
Robin: Really, you were very compelling at the hearing.
Patrick: That's because I love you and I love our baby.
Robin: And I finally get it. We matter to you just as much as you matter to us.
Anna: Oh, hi -- hi, great.
Robin: Hi.
Anna: You're both here, excellent. So I want to get this over with.
Patrick: I thought you were leaving on an immediate evac.
Anna: Yeah, no, I decided I would stay and, you know, face the music. Oh, that's horrible. Excuse the pun.
Epiphany: I don't know how a person is supposed to get to work on time around here with all that chaos going on down in the lobby.
Patrick: What's going on in the lobby?
Epiphany: What, you didn't know that your most famous patient was going to show up here today? Eli love's limo is blocking the entrance. His entourage is standing around outside all over the sidewalk. And every single female on the first floor seem to be reduced to a gawking fan.
Anna: You know what? Don't worry. Eli will soon run out of here at warp speed. He'll never return.
Epiphany: Why is that?
Anna: Uh, well, you know, he's about to find out that his favorite groupie is going to be a granny.
Lulu: Hey, we can still get away if we leave right now.
Johnny: Ok, Lulu, you don't think the police are watching this place? You don't think my father is? If we run, it makes me look guilty. We need to ride it out.
Lulu: What if the police find something here? I cannot let you pay for what I did.
Johnny: I am trying to protect you.
Lulu: All you're doing right now is making yourself look guilty.
Johnny: Better me than you.
Lulu: I killed Logan, and I swear I will confess if we do not leave right now.
Johnny: Stop threatening me.
Mac: You don't need an attorney. You aren't charged with anything.
Jason: I wasn't charged with anything when Harper threw me in the lineup earlier today. I want Diane to look at my paperwork before I take off.
Mac: I don't need Diane miller rolling in here, quoting the constitution, threatening to sue the department, when all I'm trying to do is let you go.
Jason: Then don't arrest me twice in the same day.
Mac: Don't you have something better to do, like run your organization? Oh, and by the way, since you're not a coffee importer anymore, what business are you in?
Jason: Why don't you discuss that with Diane when she gets here?
Claudia: Maybe I should call my attorney, too, since I was arrested and detained for standing too close to a car, which I happened to own. Is that even legal?
Mac: Well, who knows what we might find in that car. So, Jason, you might want to take off before I dream up another reason to arrest you.
Mac: Well, you must be stalling to see if I bring in your brother.
Claudia: Um, actually, I am exercising my civil right.
Kate: I have no intention of telling people that jax and I are lovers.
Sonny: From what the reporters said, they already think you are.
Kate: But that's the whole point. I get a bump for "crimson" without even doing a thing.
Sonny: You're going to let them keep thinking that? Is that what you're going to do?
Kate: Sonny, whether I like it or not, celebrity gossip is big business. There are magazines, there are television shows, websites completely devoted to gossip and rumors. If people are talking about jax and I being together, they're probably going to pick up the first issue of "crimson," just to see what all the buzz is about. Now all I have to do is get them to buy a second issue. I know that I can do that. It's a windfall, Sonny. Carly has created the perfect opportunity for me to set "crimson" as a brand.
Sonny: That's the brand you want? An editor who sleeps around?
Kate: No matter what I say or do, people are going to think what they want, right? It doesn't really matter whether it's true. All I want is for them to be talking about "crimson."
Sonny: And where does that leave me?
Kate: Sonny, it leaves you exactly where you are.
Sonny: Where?
Kate: That is the whole beauty -- here. You don't have to go anywhere. You don't have to do anything. You can stay in Port Charles. You can run your coffee business.
Sonny: Oh, like a chump who doesn't know where his fiancée is.
Kate: No, no.
Sonny: No?
Kate: Like the mysterious and gorgeous love of my life. You don't have to go to parties, Sonny. You don't have to go to gala events. I know how much you hate all that stuff.
Sonny: What about you?
Kate: I'll be seen with jax, just a little, a little bit. Just until the magazine launches. Just to keep the speculation going.
Carly: I don't want to cramp your style or anything. I just want Kate to back off.
Jax: Feeling a little guilty, are you?
Carly: No, I'm not the one who was packed and ready to walk out the door.
Jax: You're just the greatest, you know that? I love you. I just don't want anything getting in our way.
Carly: I don't either, but you can't try and leave every time we fight.
Jax: Is there any chance that we could just, you know, declare this fight officially over and go upstairs?
Carly: I would love to.
Jax: You would?
Carly: Mm-hmm.
[Phone rings]
Jax: You know, I'll just see who this is. I'm sure it's not important. Oh, it's "crimson."
Carly: It's Kate.
Jax: Well, Kate -- it's Kate. Uh, "crimson" is Kate, so -- you can listen in.
Carly: Answer the phone.
Jax: Then you can see that it's strictly business. Kate.
Kate: We need to discuss what's going on with the press. Could you drop by the office as soon as possible? I'd like to meet face-to-face.
Jax: Yeah, yeah, sure, ok.
Cassius: You guys are not going to believe this. All: We know.
Cassius: Eli love is down in the lobby.
Epiphany: I know.
Leyla: Don't take it personally.
[Cassius scoffs]
Cassius: Ok.
Anna: So, you know, I can do this, I mean, I'm fine with it. Eli and I, we've had a great time and I just want to make a clean break.
Robin: I don't see why it has to be over.
Anna: Yeah, all good things come to an end, including this.
Eli: Anna.
Anna: Oh.
Eli: Gorgeous as every.
Anna: Hi, Eli.
Eli: Dr. Drake, good to see you.
Patrick: How are you?
Eli: Nurse Johnson.
Epiphany: I hope that you're taking better care of yourself than you were the last time we saw you.
Eli: Well, you know me. Hey, is your daughter around? I'd love to see Robin.
Robin: Don't let Eli see me, ok?
Leyla: Ok.
Maxie: Are you ok?
Spinelli: Ok cannot even begin to describe the depths of my feelings at this moment. I have long cherished --
Maxie: Spinelli, you're the most amazing guy that I know, and I would never want anything to change what we have.
Spinelli: Stone cold. Greetings, could you possibly give us a moment and, um, wait outside?
Johnny: We cannot fight about this, Lulu. We need to be on the same side.
Lulu: Then let's go now, please.
Johnny: Just calm down. I can get us through this.
Lulu: But I'm the one who did this.
Johnny: He was coming after you.
Lulu: Yes, and I made the choice so I need to face the consequences. I cannot let you take the blame for what I did.
Johnny: Did you ask me say that I did it?
Lulu: No, exactly.
Johnny: Ok, did you ask me and claudia to dispose of the evidence, to dump Logan's body at the clinic?
Lulu: I killed him. I could go to Mac tonight and tell him that I did it, and then maybe Alexis could say it was in self defense, and then I don't have to worry about this.
Johnny: Mac is the police commissioner. Alexis is the D.A. They're not your friends, Lulu. They're the people who get paid to arrest and prosecute Logan's killer. There is no evidence that Logan attacked you and Maxie. No witnesses. And you have a history of violence with Logan Hayes, ok?
Lulu: Maxie is Mac's daughter, and he'll believe her.
Johnny: As soon as you admit that Maxie was involved, Mac will be recused from the case.
Maxie: Oh, "recuse," big word. Do you even know what it means?
Johnny: It means that Mac can't help you and neither can Alexis. She's Nikolas' aunt and you're his sister. By definition, it's a conflict of interest.
Lulu: It sounds like you could be a lawyer if you weren't choosing to be a murder suspect.
Johnny: Sit down.
Johnny: If my father finds out that you were involved in this, that you did this, he's going to come after you and I don't want that to happen. So you need to calm down, ok? Trust me, believe in me.
Lulu: I'll always believe in you.
[Knock at door]
Lucky: Police.
Lulu: It's my brother.
Johnny: Ok, I will handle this. Promise me.
Lulu: Ok, ok.
Johnny: Did the police commissioner forget to ask me something?
Lucky: John Anthony Zacchara, you're under arrest for the murder of Logan Hayes. Det.
Harper: You have a right to remain silent. Anything you say may be used against you in a court of law. You have a right to an attorney. If you can't afford an attorney, one will be appointed for you.
Maxie: My shirt should be around here somewhere.
Spinelli: Yes, well, by process of elimination, the missing garment must be -- ah.
Maxie: I'm such an idiot.
Spinelli: Hey, for the fairest of the fair.
Maxie: Thank you.
Spinelli: Oh, and don't be concerned about stone cold. While he may have been impatient with you in the past --
Maxie: Ok, great.
Spinelli: Oh, no, please, allow me -- ok.
Maxie: Sorry about that.
Spinelli: Uh, must you leave so soon? I mean, you're welcome to stay.
Maxie: I'll call you, ok?
Jason: You ok?
Spinelli: You know, fair Maximista asked the same thing. The truth is, I -- I am so far beyond ok that I'll never look back. I'm a changed man because I found nirvana in the arms of my one true love.
Eli: You know, I actually have been taking pretty good care of myself. I even get enough sleep now and then.
Anna: Mm.
Eli: So you don't have to growl, unless you want to.
Epiphany: I downloaded your last single.
Eli: Well, thank you very much for that. You coming to the show?
Epiphany: I'll have to check my schedule.
Eli: Oh, come on, epiphany. Come on, I need you backstage in the trenches like last time. Only I wouldn't even be here if it wasn't for you fine people, which is -- I'm going to comp you all to the show, too.
Epiphany: Oh, thank you.
Kelly: Could someone page Robin?
Leyla: I'd love to, but --
Kelly: Just page her, thank you. Is there a problem?
Cassius: I think what she's trying to say is, um --
Kelly: Oh, my god. Ok, it's all right. Expectant mothers, they handle stress in different ways. Page dr. Winters.
Robin: [Whispering] Oh, no, no. My mother is the one that needs the shrink, not me.
Kelly: [Whispering] But your mother isn't hiding under a counter at a hospital.
Robin: Ok.
Kelly: Ok.
Robin: But --
Robin: My mother is afraid that once Eli love sees this, he's going to dump her like a bad habit because she's grandmother.
Anna: You've barely told us about Amsterdam.
Eli: I think it's best if I just left that one alone.
Anna: Right.
Eli: Robin's here, right? Where is she?
Anna: She's here.
Robin: Get me out of here.
Eli: She's here somewhere?
Anna: Yeah. I don't know where she is.
Kate: Hi. Was there any press outside?
Jax: I don't think so.
Kate: That's good, that's good, until we decide what we're going to do next.
Jax: I'd rather discuss this in private.
Kate: No, jax, n no, no, no. Sonny, has to be here. It's the engagement that's fueling all of the gossip, and after all, this whole limo escapade started with an engagement ring.
Jax: I know this is very upsetting for you. I do understand that.
Kate: Actually, jax, it's not anymore. Cary's little stunt has proven to be a public relations coup. People seem to love talking about you and me. You should see the internet. The buzz is astounding.
Jax: So you don't want to stop the rumors, is that what you're saying?
Kate: No, I don't. We have actually been given a tremendous opportunity to launch "crimson" as a brand before we've even published a single page. Now, it's clearly unorthodox, but I think we're all adults and I think that we all know publicity is part of business.
Jax: Right, yes. What exactly did you have in mind?
Kate: We just need to be seen together, you know, at events, that sort of thing. Just enough to tease the idea that we're together.
Jax: While you're still engaged to Sonny?
Kate: Look, jax, the more people are talking about you and me, the more magazines we're going to sell.
Jax: Yes, that sounds like an interesting idea
Sonny: You cannot be seriously considering this, jax.
Carly: Did Jason get arrested again?
Diane: Not that I'm aware of.
Carly: Oh, thank god.
Diane: I'm actually here on "crimson" business. Jax asked me to drop these contracts by.
Carly: Jax isn't here.
Diane: Well, I'm terribly sorry for the interruption.
Carly: You know what? I don't understand how you can represent Kate and jax. I don't get that.
Diane: As I mentioned before, I'm representing "crimson." Kate and jax just happen to fall under the same umbrella.
Carly: Ok, well, who's looking out for jax? Because you obviously prefer Kate, because you're a fashion groupie and she gives you designer clothes.
Diane: These contracts are not between jax and Kate. They are behalf of the magazine. But even if they weren't, I am a professional and perfectly capable of separating out my admiration for Kate with my legal obligation to a client.
Carly: Oh, so you admire Kate and jax is just an obligation?
Diane: I didn't say that.
Carly: I think you should drop Kate as a client. That's what I think.
Diane: Uh-huh, look, Carly, I appreciate that you're upset because your little tabloid ambush blew up in your face, but really, Kate owes you a tremendous debt of gratitude.
Carly: What do you mean?
Diane: You haven't heard? "Crimson" is officially hot. Rumors are flying everywhere. If I know Kate, she'll want to cash in. Because, you see, not only is she engaged to Sonny, but now she's rumored be Jax's mistress as well. Bye.

Tuesday July 15 - Part 2 Mac: Why are you hanging around here? This a police department, not your living room.
Anthony: I'm a concerned parent.
Claudia: Why hasn't John been brought in yet?
Mac: We're not going to discuss the investigation.
Ric: Oh, come on, Mac. This whole situation is a blatant rush to judgment anyway. You impounded a vehicle that was at large for at least one day, and then you petitioned for an arrest warrant after hours to make sure you get the most sympathetic judge to sign off on it.
Mac: Save it for the courtroom. Interrogation.
Claudia: Hey, you're hurting him.
Anthony: If I see one mark on him --
Trevor: I'll take it from here.
Ric: No, no, no, I got the heads-up on the warrant, I'll take care of the arrest.
Anthony: Hey, do you think I want to sit here and listen to you guys bicker? Just get my son out of this.
Trevor: You have no business here.
Anthony: Go home, Lulu. You've done enough damage.
Claudia: We're his family. We'll take care of John.
Sonny: First of all, I want to say this. I never liked the idea of Kate going into business with you, but this is not my world. I don't understand how a woman could pretend to have an affair when she isn't, but, hey, you know what? It's your magazine. I'm not going to interfere with that.
Kate: I am sure that we all understand that this is just business.
Sonny: Yeah, right.
Jax: Well, it's a gray area. You know, promoting gossip, which in return, you know, promotes business. It just, it's a little dicey.
Kate: Jax, tell me, how is this any different than going to a charity gala or to a benefit or cultivating relationships with designers or key members of the press, right?
Jax: Right.
Kate: This is how the fashion business works. So if we can work it to our advantage, why wouldn't we?
Jax: Because it upsets my wife.
Kate: Oh, really? Yeah, Carly, the one who started all of this, she's determined to sabotage this project any way she can.
Jax: Ok, I'm a businessman, ok? I'm not some movie star, so it's not really my job to generate publicity.
Kate: So you're going to let Carly make the call.
Jax: Well, however you want to put it, but Cary's my wife. You're my business associate. Carly doesn't like you. Everyone knows that. It kind of puts me in a difficult situation, so just do me a favor, please. From now on, just, uh, call me when it's strictly business, ok?
Johnny: I've got nothing to say without my lawyer.
Mac: Imagine that.
Lucky: Hey, I saw Lulu out there, is she ok?
Mac: She left. That's all I know. Listen, I want the two of you to keep an eye on the Zaccaharas. Both of you, all right? Lulu seemed pretty upset.
Johnny: I don't want her involved.
Mac: Oh, that's very noble of you, Mr. Zacchara. So what's your plan? Are you going to spend a couple of days in jail and have your lawyers work the system, get you out? That's usually the way it is with you , isn't it? You make a mess, and they come clean it up. Not this time.
Anthony: Go home. You're not doing your brother any good.
Claudia: John needs my help.
Anthony: If you're not careful, you're going to help him all the way to a lethal injection. I knew something like this would happen.
Claudia: I don't care what you think. I'm going to get John out of this.
Anthony: Get your mind off yourself and look at what's really happening, Claudia. No one needs you. Ric and Trevor are a couple of sharks. There's blood in the water, let them feed.
Trevor: Richie, if they got a warrant so fast, that means they have some compelling evidence.
Ric: Well, look, Logan has a history of violence, maybe John can claim self-defense.
Claudia: You want John to admit that he did this?
Spinelli: "When in disgrace with fortune in men's eyes I all alone do weep my outcast state." Skip that part, skip that part. "Desiring this man's art and that man's scope" -- skip that. "Happily, I think on me. And then my state, like to the lark at break of day arising from sullen earth sings hymns at heaven's gate. For thy sweet love remembered such wealth brings that I scorn to change my state with kings." Stone Cold.
Jason: What are you doing?
Spinelli: Shakespeare. It's one of my favorite of his love sonnets, and particularly apt. I -- I have to share it with Maximista, at least the parts that I think she will enjoy.
Jason: Oh. I brought you an orange soda.
Spinelli: Oh, most grateful thanks. You know, I hope we didn't make you uncomfortable before.
Jason: Surprised.
Spinelli: You know, as was I, but if Maximista reached out to me in her time of trouble. She trusted me and found comfort in my arms. And you know for once, I was not inept or even terribly awkward. My doubts and insecurities simply vanished. I didn't -- I didn't even have to say a single word. Maxie and I just connected, and now I am whole.
Jason: I'm -- I'm happy for you.
Spinelli: You know, if she spends more time here, which I hope she will, you know I think that you'll see -- I think that you'll see the sweet and wounded spirit that I do. Granted, the fair Maximista might never have turned to the jackal if she weren't in grave peril, as is fair --
Jason: Hold on, hold on, go back. Tell me what happened.
Spinelli: No, she -- she spoke to me in confidence. I couldn't betray her trust.
Jason: Well, ok, the first priority is to keep her safe.
Spinelli: Anthony Zacchara dragged Maximista to his evil lair this very night.
Jason: Why?
Spinelli: Johnny didn't kill Logan. Lulu did.
Lulu: I'm busy.
Tracy: I'm concerned about you. I heard about Logan. I know you cared about him.
Lulu: Johnny just got arrested for killing him.
Tracy: Well, that's unfortunate.
Lulu: Oh, don't you dare say you knew this was going to happen, that I'm better off, and that this is for the best, because Johnny didn't do it. I know he's innocent. And if you say one word against him, I am out of this house.
Tracy: Did you try to reach your father?
Lulu: No.
Tracy: How about lucky?
Lulu: Lucky arrested Johnny in front of me.
Tracy: Oh. Lulu, I really am sorry.
Lulu: This is my fault.
Tracy: Don't say that. Logan was a troubled young man, and Johnny --
Lulu: Don't say it. I swear I will leave right now.
Tracy: I don't want you to blame yourself.
Lulu: Why, why? I should blame myself, this is happening because of me, because I was stringing Logan along and then Johnny showed up and then I didn't know what to do and then I kept Logan in the middle. Now one of them is dead and one of them is in jail, d I don't know how to fix this.
Tracy: Lulu, be that as it may, you are not responsible for the death of Logan Hayes.
Lulu: You don't understand.
Tracy: What I understand is that you are concerned about Johnny, but Johnny is not alone and friendless. His family is very powerful and very rich.
Lulu: Johnny did not kill Logan.
Tracy: Well, then, his lawyers are good enough to get him acquitted. Just don't worry. I'll send you up some dinner. Maybe you should get some rest.
Lulu: Look, I know that you're trying to help. I really appreciate it, I do, but I need to figure this out alone.
Tracy: What's to figure out?
Lulu: Get out now!
Jason: Maxie told you that? She told you that Lulu killed Logan?
Spinelli: Yes, grievous news indeed.
Jason: What happened?
Spinelli: I guess Logan came after Lulu with an ax, she stabbed him and Maxie and Johnny found Lulu standing over Logan's body.
Jason: Well, that sounds like self-defense. Why doesn't she just call the police?
Spinelli: Claudia arrived soon after, and before Lulu could stop him, Johnny confessed. Claudia believed him, started the cover up immediately. And Maximista has no doubt that if the dark prince is arrested, fair Lulu will confess.
Spinelli: Stone cold, she said that she would call and it's less than an hour later. Look -- look she's calling.
Jason: Why don't you answer it?
Spinelli: Right. Ah, tis I, the jackal.
Maxie: It's me. I'm at the overlook. I need to see you.
Spinelli: I'm on my way.
Jason: Is she all right?
Spinelli: Uh, yes, she just told me to meet her at the overlook, you know, and all that implies.
[Spinelli chuckles]
Spinelli: I shall honor r with Shakespeare -- and should Maxie decide to spend the night in my regrettably pink room, I will count on your discretion?
Jason: Yeah, whatever you want.
Spinelli: You know, it feels wrong for the jackal to be experiencing such profound joy when others he holds in such high esteem are suffering.
Jason: Don't be sorry for something good.
Anna: Yeah, Rio is just the coolest place, I mean, it's really cool. We would stay up so late, and we'd be always starving in the morning.
Eli: Yeah, yeah, and remember the time the limo driver went around the corner real fast? She fell into me -- oh, boy.
Anna: Oh, yeah -- no, no.
Kelly: [Whispers] You have nothing to worry about. Eli is completely infatuated with your mother. The guy wouldn't notice if you walked by with a neon sign on your belly.
Robin: [Whispers] Ok, let's go then.
Eli: Hey, Robin, Robin. There she is. Hey, don't be a stranger. Come and give me a hug.
Robin: [Normal voice] Hi.
Eli: Hey.
Anna: Robin, come on over and say hi to Eli, please.
Robin: It's so good to see -- I have a patient waiting for x-rays.
Anna: Robin --
Robin: Gotta go.
Anna: She such a dedicated doctor.
Patrick: Yeah, she hates leaving patients waiting.
Anna: Yeah.
Eli: Yeah, I guess. Um, so time to meet and greet. How about a private reunion?
Anna: Now, that sounds good.
Eli: See you, doc.
Patrick: Mm.
Anna: Bye.
Kate: Well, of course I'm still coming to the party, warren, and why wouldn't I bring a companion? Oh, I don't know. Maybe I'll bring jax, maybe I'll bring Sonny -- maybe you just have to wonder. Ok, I'll see you soon.
Sonny: "Maybe I'll bring jax, maybe I'll bring Sonny." I thought jax already said he doesn't want to go to any more parties?
Kate: Jax is just reacting to Cary's ridiculous demands. But when it comes to business, jax will always do the right thing.
Sonny: What if he doesn't? Would you want me to go?
Kate: You hate these kinds of parties. Small talk, social climbers, pretentious conversation. I only threw your name in there to keep warren guessing.
Sonny: All right.
Kate: Um, Sonny, if this is going to be a problem, you should really tell me now.
Sonny: Is this going to be a problem? You're gonna do what you're gonna do. I'm proud of you and I want you to succeed at this magazine, but I'm not going to look away while you're having this pretend romance with jax just to get publicity.
Kate: Sonny, it is only for a short time. Once the magazine launches, it will all be over.
Sonny: No.
Kate: It could make a crucial difference.
Sonny: Listen, I'm not trying to be difficult, I'm not. But you just have to understand that I'm not going to spend the rest of my life being Mr. Kate Howard.
Jax: I'm home! Hey.
Carly: Flowers and junk food?
Jax: Right, your favorite little -- those cheese things. Would you rather have diamonds?
Carly: I know my brilliant plan to sic the tabloids on Kate turned out to be the best thing that happened to that stupid magazine.
Jax: Yeah, she actually wants to keep the rumors going. She said it's a good buzz, you know, it's bringing up the value of "crimson." Which, I guess, is exactly my main objective, isn't it?
Carly: You're going to date Kate for the good of the magazine?
Jax: No, I would never deliberately go along with rumors like that because it might hurt my wife. And I would never go along with pretending that I am interested in somebody else. I would personally never do something like that. You, on the other hand, you know, have proven to do otherwise.
Carly: You turned it down.
Jax: I did, of course. After the conversation we had, what do you think? Kate and I are strictly business, that's it. Business, business, business, business only, ok?
Carly: Are you ok with that?
Jax: Yes, I'm ok with that. It's a question of priority. There's nothing I care more about than you.
Carly: That's a good answer.
Spinelli: Maximista, I didn't expect you to call so soon.
Maxie: I am so sorry about what happened.
Spinelli: Yeah -- no, the situation with Lulu --
Maxie: I shouldn't have had sex with you, Spinelli. It was mistake. And really typical of me, because I always turn to sex when I'm feeling scared or needy. And you're so wonderful. I should not have taken advantage of you.
Spinelli: I don't -- I don't feel taken advantaged --
Maxie: Because you are the kindest, most wonderful person that I know. And I can't believe I risked trashing our friendship by sleeping with you.
Spinelli: No, I wouldn't characterize what we experienced as --
Maxie: You would never criticize me, I know that, but what I did was wrong. I shouldn't have used you like that. It was self-destructive and -- please, I just want you to forgive me.
Spinelli: No, there's nothing to forgive, really.
Maxie: Spinelli, you're so wonderful. And I promise I'm not going to let anything like this ever happen again, ok? I'm sorry.
Lucky: Yeah?
Mac: I'm taking you off the Zacchara case.
Lucky: Why?
Mac: Lulu. It's a conflict of interest and I don't want to give the Zacchara dream team any ammunition.
Ric: Anthony, we will petition for bail, but it's doubtful that a judge is going to grant it.
Anthony: Am I hearing voices again? Am I misunderstanding?
Trevor: Tony, Tony, this is a high-profile case. They can't look like they're being pressured by John's mobbed up father.
Ric: Exactly.
Anthony: All right, my son has to spend the night in lock up. That's what he deserves for turning to his sister for help instead of me. But pay attention, gentlemen, if my son is convicted, you two will both pay dearly.
Claudia: I was trying to make things better. I really hope I didn't make them worse.
Johnny: I killed the guy. I'll deal with the consequences.
Claudia: No, John, I will find a way to fix this, even if that means someone else has to take the fall.
Lulu: What are you doing here, don't you knock?
Jason: Please, please, I don't want Edward to know I'm here, ok?
Lulu: What do you want?
Jason: I know that you killed Logan. And right now you're probably scared and you know Johnny's been arrested and you're gonna want to confess.
Lulu: Who told you?
Jason: It doesn't matter.
Lulu: Well, I -- I panicked. I mean, even if he doesn't believe me, Nikolas can get me the best lawyer.
Jason: The problem is that might not be enough.
Lulu: What?
Jason: The cover-up makes you look guilty. You've attacked Logan before.
Lulu: Well, I didn't mean to, but I killed him. And I think I should be the one to pay for it.
Jason: First of all, this case is a long way from trial. I want you to keep quiet, and I want you to stay calm. Maybe I can fix this.

Nikolas: Hi, there.
Sam: Hey.
Nikolas: Welcome to the emily bowen quartermaine free clinic.
Sam: I've got to say, this place looks amazing. I'm so sorry I haven't come by to see it sooner.
Nikolas: No, actually, it's probably best that you waited, though. We've had a few, shall I say, setbacks the first weeks.
Sam: Setbacks? What kind of setbacks?
Nikolas: Come on, I'll tell you.
Sam: Ok. Is everything ok?
Nadine: So, exam rooms are stocked. Supply closet's been inventoried. All we need now are some patients. Matt: Yeah, definitely. Who is that?
Nadine: Why? Matt: Well, if she seeking medical attention, she should be speaking to a doctor, not a trust fund baby who thinks he can fix everything with money.
Nadine: You should be grateful that nikolas was willing to throw some of that money your way, because without his generosity, you wouldn't hava fellowship.
Woman: Por favor, ayudanos. Matt: What happened? Mother: Laedicina no esta funcionando. Se esta poniendo fuego.
Sam: Wait -- she's saying that the medication is making her daughter worse.
Clarice: This is fantastic, kate.
Kate: Oh, thank you, clarice. So, tell me. Exactly how many times has giselle called you since you left "couture"?
Clarice: Oh, six or seven times -- a day.
Kate: Ok, see, I'm not surprised. Because you were practically running the place before i scooped you up. And now that I have, giselle might actually have to come up with an original idea.
Clarice: Well, thank you again for giving me this opportunity.
Kate: Please. You earned it.
Clarice: I'll be back in ten minutes with your coffee.
Kate: No, no, no. You will not. As my accessories editor, it is your job to fill the pages of "crimson" with the hot trend ideas, not fetch lukewarm coffee. That is why I have not one but two assistants -- who never seem to show up for work.
Clarice: Maxie and lulu were both here earlier. I just sent them off to run some errands. I hope you don't mind.
Kate: No, actually. That's fine, as long as my to-do list was taken care of first. I had an important delivery scheduled this morning. And if sonny has not received it, there will be hell to pay.
Sonny: Last time I checked, you don't work for me anymore, max. Even if you did, arranging flowers isn't part of the job description.
Max: Right. Well, that's what I wanted to talk to you about. Milo and I, we -- we don't feel right working for anyone but you. So, if you'll have us back, we can start at any time.
Sonny: Yeah, yeah. I'll think about that. What's with the flowers?
Max: Oh, these are from kate.
Johnny: I got nothing to say without my lawyer.
Lucky: I'm not here to question you. Not that I could, because I've been taken off the case.
Johnny: Then what do you want?
Lucky: It doesn't take much to figure out what you and logan were fighting about. I'm only concerned about how this is affecting my sister.
Lulu: Well, if you really want to know, you should be asking me, not johnny.

Lulu: Johnny is in lockup for something he didn't do, so don't make it worse by shoving a lecture down his throat.
Lucky: Johnny had the means and the motive. How can you be so sure he didn't kill logan?
Johnny: Lulu has faith in me.
Lucky: I want to hear it from her.
Lulu: You don't know johnny like I do. He would not kill somebody in cold blood.
Lucky: You have to admit, johnny had one hell of a role model growing up.
Johnny: I'm nothing like my father.
Lucky: You want to believe that johnny is innocent -- that logan didn't die because of some obsessive crush he had on you? There's certainly enough evidence to build one hell of a case against him.
Lulu: If you are finished, i would like to spend some time alone with johnny before he's taken back to his cell.
Lucky: Well, he's going to be questioned all morning. So you're going to have to come back later.
Lulu: Fine. I will see you in a few hours.
Nadine: Bp is 80 over 50. Temp 104. Matt: She seems a little responsive to painful stimuli. What meds has she been given?
Sam: Antibiotics.
Nikolas: But from where?
Sam: Well, she said that she got them from mercy three days ago, and then she took isabel in this morning because they weren't working, and they turned her away.
Nadine: Why?
Sam: She said because they said that they needed to give the medication time to work. Matt: Well, this girl has a serious infection that appears to have gone completely untreated. So, if we don't get this under control, she could die.
Kate: I mean, really. She has outdone herself. I just can't wait for sonny to see me walking down the aisle in this.
Clarice: Why not build the anticipation for sonny as well as the readers by running the sketches in the second issue? Give them all a taste of what's to come.
Kate: Ok, see, right there. See, ideas like this. That is why you will never be fetching coffee again.
Diane: Clarice. So is the rumor true? Has kate finally persuaded you to leave "couture"?
Clarice: Well, it didn't take much convincing. Giselle was a nightmare to work for.
Diane: Oh, god. I can only imagine what you were made to endure. The magazine certainly went downhill after she took over. I might juste biased because of my friendship with the form editor. Can I have a word with you?
Kate: Of course.
Clarice: I have some phone calls to make.
Kate: Ok, but when maxie and lulu get back, you make sure to tell them you have more important things to do now than answer the phones. All right, so what is it this time? You got a weekend getaway? A fabulous dinner in the city?
Diane: Believe it or not, I'm not here for samples.
Kate: What?
Diane: I know, I know. Surprising.
Kate: [Laughs]
Diane: Although, I wouldn't mind sneaking a peak at jean-paul's fall line.
Kate: Oh, yeah. You and everybody else.
Diane: Oh.
Kate: Well, I might be getting some samples on friday. If you drop by, I might be able to give you that sneak peek.
Diane: Ok, ok. Don't tease. See?
[Laughter]
Diane: That's why giselle could never hold a candle to you. Not only are you an icon, but you are a veritable fashion fairy godmother raining couture down on my closet.
Kate: Ok, that's enough. Thank you very much. So, what can I do for you in the meantime?
Diane: Well, I am not in the practice of meddling. In fact --
[Kate clears throat]
Diane: Far be it from me to tell anyone what to do.
Kate: Ok, clearly, that is why you're here, diane. So just go on. Say what you have to say.
Diane: All right, if you insist. I think sonny corinthos is the worst thing that's ever happened to you. Having said that, it is clear that you are head over heels in love with the man. So trust me. As one who has dealt with the man under extremely difficult, often emotional circumstances, you are handling your fiance all wrong.
Sonny: Did you or milo talk to jason about coming back to work for me?
Max: Well, I wanted to talk to you first and be sure you're ok with it. I know you don't want guards, so maybe you could think of milo and I as drivers with security qualifications.
Sonny: You want to date diane while you're working here?
Max: I was hoping you could leave my personal life out of it.
Sonny: Is that a yes, max?
Max: I want to come back to work for you, boss. All right? And milo will do whatever i decide. But you can't ask me to give up diane.
Sonny: Do you think you can focus on work while you're dating my lawyer?
Max: No question.
Sonny: Ok, then you talk to -- talk to jason.
Max: Sure. I will. What do you want me to talk to him about?
Sonny: About coming back, you and milo coming back to work for me.
Max: Ok, sure. I -- that would be great. No -- I mean -- that would be great.
Sonny: What do you --
Max: Because I want to come back to work for you. And milo and I are glad to do that.
Max: But maybe you could talk to jason, you know?
Sonny: No, no.
Max: Boss to boss kind of thing.
Sonny: No, no, no. It's your decision. You've got to work this out. And you have to understand something, that when you come back to work for me, your loyalty is to me.
Max: Sure, boss. I understand. I'll go tell jason right now.
Sonny: No, take those. Take the flowers.
Max: What do you want me to do with them?
Sonny: Send them back. If you want to give them to diane -- but I don't want them. Just take them.
Max: I can't give these to ms. Miller. I mean, not that she wouldn't love them. They're gorgeous. Boss, miss howard got you these. We can't re-gift them. It wouldn't be right. And besides, what are you going to tell her when she asks you where they are?
Sonny: Kate and I, we're not talking at the moment. That's why she sent the flowers, because she thinks that we had a disagreement that can be glossed over by an apology. But the truth is, it's going to take a hell of a lot more to fix our problems.
Nikolas: Ok.
Sam: She is just a little girl.
Nikolas: I know.
Sam: It just -- it doesn't see fair. Her mother did everything right. She took her to the hospital. She got her treatment. And it didn't make a bit of difference. How does something like this happen? Since when did taking medication become a game of chance?
Nikolas: Since someone saw that there was a profit to be made. Apparently, the counterfeit drug business is quite lucrative. See, people -- people, they introduce the placebos into the market and then sell them at the same cost as the real prescription.
Sam: I know. I -- I have been known to run a scam to make a quick buck, but nothing like this. To take advantage of people's vulnerability, profiting off their sickness is just plain wrong.
Max: Do you want to work things out with ms. Howard?
Sonny: I love her. You know, that's just the way that is. But it's just -- I'm starting to feel like our worlds don't fit.
Max: Isn't that why you signed everything over to jason? To prove to kate that you could keep her safe?
Sonny: Well, that's part of it. I mean -- you know, after michael got shot, you know, you see your little boy there, laying in a bed in a coma. I mean, things have to change. And I felt like walking away, we -- kate and could start fresh, we can , you know, build a -- a new life together. But she's got her own life now. So, you know, I don't think she's willing to change.
Max: So where does that leave you?
Sonny: Well, I'll tell you where it doesn't leave me. It doesn't leave me in the background hding kate's purse while she's, you know, getting her picture taken. That may be good for some people, but I am not going to spend the rest of my life being kate's lapdog. You know?
Max: Ms. Howard is a high-powered woman, but you don't seriously think that she'd order you around, do you?
Sonny: No, it's not like that, max. She treats me with respect. And she's worked hard to get where she's at. I'm not trying to take that away, but if she wants me --
Max: Boss --
Sonny: To be in her life, then she's going to have to, you know, give me some room.
Max: Boss, ms. Howard could have gone back to manhattan at any time. But she stayed and she found a way to work. That should tell you how much she cares.
Sonny: I'm not saying she doesn't love me.
Max: Cut her little bit of slack. According to diane, ms. Howard's got a lot riding on this magazine. Her reputation is on the line.
Max: If "crimson" fails, she's going to have a hard time finding work anywhere. That's got to be stressful.
Sonny: Her career is one thing, max. But, you know what? I am not going to look the other way while she's having this pretend affair with jax for publicity. I will not -- be disrespected like that.
Max: Maybe there's a compromise. That's what marriage is supposed to be about, right?
Diane: Sonny is an extremely proud man. Some would call him arrogant. Most would certainly consider him domineering.
Kate: [Sighs] I am well aware of exactly who sonny is, and I am proud of his accomplishments. And I think that he's proud of mine.
Diane: Yes, but you seem to be forgetting how possessive the man is. And if I had to guess, I would say he is less than thrilled with the public speculating that you and jax are sleeping together.
Kate: He has made his feelings on the subject quite clear. Look, diane, I was hoping that we could have some sort of middle ground, make some sort of compromise so that I could still be seen in public with jax in order to promote "crimson" but not detract from my relationship with sonny.
Maxie: Ok. I picked up the mock ups from the printer and I made extra copies for the staff meeting.
Clarice: Thank you for taking care of all that.
Maxie: Not a problem. Is kate here?
Clarice: She got here about 20 minutes ago. I told her that you and lulu were both running errands, but i don't know how long that excuse will hold. Do you have any idea when lulu might be in?
Maxie: I -- I don't know. She should be here any minute.
[Elevator door opens]
Lulu: Sorry I'm late.
Clarice: Don't let it happen again. If kate catches you slacking off, there will be someone else sitting in that desk before you can even start to explain.
Maxie: You really need to get yourself together.
Lulu: Johnny is in lockup for something I did. How am I supposed to live with that?
Johnny: You're sure spending a lot of time in here for someone who's been booted off the case. That's borderline harassment. Maybe I should get my lawyers to look into that.
Lucky: Go ahead. I'll probably walk away with a reprimand. But it'll be worth it knowing that my sister's safe.
Johnny: Ok, there is nothing more important to me in this world than your sister.
Lucky: Then quit being selfish. Logan may have deserved to die like a dog in the street, but she cared about him. She gave him chance after chance. Now he's dead. Probably because of you.
Johnny: Probably. It's going to take a hell of a lot more than "probably" to convict me in a court of law.
Lucky: Yeah, well, my sister is blaming herself. And it's only going to get worse.
Johnny: Don't you think I know that? But there's nothing I can do about that in here.
Jerry: Hello, commissioner.
Mac: I don't remember asking you to come down for questioning.
Jerry: Well, my business is of a more personal nature. I'm here to see alexis. Perhaps to offer some distraction, preferably on every ailable surface that the taxpayers so kindly provided in this office.
Mac: If you think dating alexis gives you a free pass, you're mistaken.
Jerry: Oh, I don't know. You know, dating a D.A. Certainly has its privileges.
Mac: You smug son of a bitch. Someone ought to knock that smile right off your face.
Jerry: That would be illegal, commissioner.
[Jerry shouts in pain]
Lucky: Everything ok out here?
Mac: Mr. Jacks just lost his balance. I was about to help him up.
Lucky: I've got it.
Mac: No, don't bother. I'll do it.
Jerry: One punch in the name of misguided chivalry can be overlooked. Try it again, I'll put you in traction, police commissioner or not.
Mac: You think you're so smart, jerry, seducing alexis to take advantage of her position as D.A.? But eventually, she's going to see right through you.
Jerry: You care to wager on that?
Mac: You're a lousy gambler. You never knew when to cut your losses. Get out of here. Let's go. Come on. Get out of here.
Nikolas: Excuse me. Could you page dr. Hunter for me? I need to speak to him about that little girl that was brought in here from the clinic.
Nurse: Dr. Hunter turned the case over to an attending pediatrician. I can page dr. O'donnell if you'd like.
Nikolas: Ok. Thank you.
Sam: Wait. Do you know where her mother is?
Nurse: The pediatric icu. Hasn't left the child's side.
Sam: The doctors, they're doing everything they can, right? I mean, they are going to be able to save this little girl?
Nurse: You have to speak to dr. O'donnell about that.
Nikolas: All right. Nadine, hi.
Nadine: Hi.
Nikolas: How is isabel?
Nadine: Well, we got her on iv antibiotics and wee trying to bring the fever down, but the infection may have already compromised her nervous system.
Spinelli: Whiskey. Straight up and keep them coming.
Coleman: It's not even ten o'clock in the morning.
Spinelli: Yeah, well, the jackal's sorrow knows no time limit. It is an all-consuming, life-altering pain that only the stiffest of drinks can hope to alleviate.
Coleman: You start downing whiskey this early, you'll be feeling a hell of a lot worse in a few hours. Why don't you -- why don't you have, like, an orange soda instead?
Spinelli: Perhaps the jackal was unclear in his intent. He wishes to wallow in despair and therefore require something a little more potent than nectar of the gods.
Coleman: Yeah? Well, you're going to have to go somewhere else. All right? If you get plastered here, you get into trouble, that means I'm going to get into trouble with -- you know, with your boss. I can't afford to be on the bad side of morgan. I mean -- not that --
[Chuckles] Not that he's got a good side, but --
Spinelli: In truth, stone cold has been very gracious and patient in regards to the jackal. But there is no way that the zen master can possibly comprehend his grasshopper's ongoing struggle because stone cold has the key to tame the wild heart. And although the jackal has been a dedicated pupil, he still continues to fail miserably in this particular respect, and therefore seeks to drown that said humiliation by imbibing distilled spirits of mass quantity.
Eli: Whoo -- hey, bartender. I would like whiskey, straight up, and you can leave the bottle.
Coleman: Coming right up.
Spinelli: Wait, wait, wait. Why -- why does he get to partake without limit when the jackal is refused?
Coleman: It's eli love. Pay attention. You might learn a thing or two. Mr. Love. Hey. You -- you celebrating or commiserating?
Eli: Well, actually, you can call me eli and I'm celebrating. I want you to join me.
Coleman: Hey. What are we drinking to, man?
Eli: We're drinking to wealth, health, and women. May they all be as beautiful as the lovely anna devane.
Anna: [Sighs loudly]
Robin: Well, hello.
Anna: Hi.
Robin: I'm not even going to bother to ask you how everything went with eli because that sigh says it all.
Anna: Mm. It was great. [Laughs] It was really good. You know, he is so talented. He played some of his new songs. They are amazing. We connect on such a deep level. It's --
Robin: That's great, mom.
Anna: Sometimes I have to pinch myself because here's a guy that I worshipped for years, and he digs me. And we wants to spend time with me. And it's so cool. I -- and I'm incredibly lucky, i guess.
Robin: Oh, come on. Eli is the lucky one.
Anna: Yeah. He is. That was very quick thinking, hiding your baby bump with the x-rays.
Robin: Oh, it's no big deal.
Anna: I appreciate the effort.
Anna: Don't for one second think I'm sorry about this baby. I am so happy for you. And for me. I did a lot of wrong things when you were a child. And I really want to make it up. I'm going to be the best damn grandmother any baby has ever had. You know, this whole thing with eli is just stupid. It's just a self-indulgence.
Robin: No, it's not stupid. It's not. You're happy. And I want for you to be happy. And I don't want you to think that when this baby is born that you have to change. You don't have to fit into some stereotypical mold of a grandmother.
Anna: I can'T.
Robin: Right. So just be yourself. I mean, come on. Any kid would be lucky to have you in their life. I know I was.
Maxie: It's a little late for second thoughts. If you confess, it's going to look like you're covering for johnny. Or the police are going to think that he has something to hide and then his chances of being acquitted will be shot to hell. So unless you want your boyfriend shipped off to pentonville for the rest of his life, I suggest you suck it up and just see this through.
Lulu: Well, I'm not like you, maxie. I can't sit here and act like nothing happened while johnny takes the blame for killing logan. I'm the one who ended his life. I should be the one who has to pay.
Maxie: I'm not acting like nothing happened. Logan was a pig, and I believe that you killed him in self-defense. So that is why johnny and I are doing back-flips to try and cover for you. Alonzo: Is she in?
Maxie: Alonzo, wait. Oh, kate wasn't expecting you till three. Alonzo: I'm having dinner in milan tonight. I have exactly -- oh -- one hour before my flight leaves. If she can't fit me in now, we'll have to reschedule next month.
Maxie: Ok, why don't you take a seat? I'll let her know you're here early. Alonzo: All right, thank you.
Maxie: Ok.
Kate: Well, it's too bad giselle couldn't handle it. Could you hold a minute, please? Maxie, whatever it is, you need to take care of it.
Maxie: Alonzo needs to get on a plane to milan in an hour and he wants to choose the models with you now.
Kate: Ok, you need to stay here.
Sonny: Lulu? I'm here to see kate. Can I just go in there? Alonzo: Absolutely not.
Sonny: You say something?
Jul 16, 2008 09:25
Lulu: Oh, um, alonzo it's --
Sonny: No, no, no, let him talk. What are you -- what are you saying? Alonzo: Well, granted, you're, uh, handsome enough. But you're far too brooding and dark for her tastes.
Sonny: You think so? Alonzo: Kate needs someone blonde, who has that sun kissed look about him.
Sonny: Sun kissed, ah. Why don't we let her decide that. Alonzo: We're on a very tight schedule.
Sonny: Don't do that, don't touch me. Alonzo: Sorry, thanks for, um, coming by.
Sonny: I'm not leaving until i see kate.
Kate: So, cancel my 10:30 and have the agency send over all their models immediately. Alonzo: Kate, hello.
Kate: Hi, alonzo. Alonzo: Uh, there's one out here who is all wrong for the concept. Do you need to see him or do you trust my judgment?
Kate: Go ahead send him away. Yeah, yeah, I trust you. Alonzo: Ok. [Clears throat] Satisfied?
Lulu: Kate?
Kate: I'm busy, lulu
Lulu: No, you don't understand.
Kate: No, I have a designer waiting to approve models that aren't scheduled to be here until this afternoon. So either get on the phone and help or get out.
Lulu: Well, the man that alonzo just sent away was sonny, and he didn't seem too happy about it. Alonzo: Uh, I have a plane to catch. How long do you plan to keep me waiting?
Kate: Uh, not a second, alonzo, why don't you come on in. Alonzo: Thank you.
Kate: We'll get right to work. Alonzo: Lovely, thank you so much -- excuse me.
Eli: This place reminds me of the bar I got my start in.
Coleman: Yeah, but come on, you've come a long way from cold beer on tap and a pool table in the corner.
Eli: Yeah, these days I spend more time drinking in V.I.P. Lounges. Cheers, mate. Every now and then, it's nice to get down and dirty.
Coleman: Hey, eli, if I comp this bottle of whiskey, do you think I can ask you to play tonigh
Eli: Dude, come on look -- I like the bar, but I couldn't play here. I mean, once they get people packed in here, it'll be a security nightmare, it will be a riot.
Coleman: All right, man, no danger of a riot, just a broken heart. Do you see the kid over here? He needs a few tips on how to impress the ladies. And since you've got them falling at your feet, I was thinking maybe you could, you know -- share a secret or two?
Eli: Say no more.
Coleman: I appreciate it, man.
Eli: Cheers.
Coleman: He does, too, cheers.
Eli: Hi, sport, how are you doing, you all right? I hear you, uh, are looking to score with the ladies. Is it anyone in particular or just fairer sex in general?
Spinelli: No, there's just one. One beautiful blonde that has captured the jackal's very soul. However, he's most unclear as to how to turn her -- her friendly affections into those of a romantic nature.
Eli: [Laughs] Just learn to play the guitar, mate.
Spinelli: Well, unfortunately the jackal is rhythmically challenged.
Eli: Well, you can wear one, can't you? You know how the girls always fall for the guy with the guitar.
Anna: Well, it depends on the guy and what kind of guitar he's holding. Ahh, yes, this is the lady I've been talking about. Miss anna devane, you ready for an encore?
Lucky: I got your message, what's -- what's going on?
Sam: Ok, I am so glad that you're here, just listen to me for a second. You barely knew me when my daughter died, but losing her was sort of like having my heart ripped out. I learned to live with the pain, I mean, I learned to kind of bury it deep down inside. But seeing this little girl almost die today sort of brought everything back to the surface. And I know I'm probably overreacting, probably because this little girl was the same age that my daughter would have been if she had survived.
Lucky: Ok, ok, can you just slow down? What little girl?
Sam: Ok, I was taking a tour here today of the clinic when this woman came in with her daughter, and this little girl had been given defective antibiotics over at mercy and nearly died from an infection that could have easily been treated otherwise.
Lucky: Ok, first the pain pills, then nikolas sees your medication and now the antibiotics? How can this keep happening?
Sam: I don't know. But, lucky, we have to find out who's putting these fake drugs into hospitals and clinics and stop them before somebody dies.
Lucky: I can't track down where the counterfeit drugs are coming from, much less prosecute the person responsible without a lead.
Nadine: It looks like isabel is gog to pull through.
Sam: So, like we're supposed to all breath a sigh of relief and go back to business assual? I mean think about it, what about the other patients who are seen at mercy? What if somebody got bad meds and they're too sick to come to the clinic? Don't they deserve help, too?
Nikolas: I am going to call the health department and tell them to track down every patient that came through mercy's E.R. In the last few days.
Nadine: There's got to be something else we can do, right?
Nikolas: Lucky, can you open up an investigation? Luy: It won't do us any good without any more information. Right now, we can't even be sure that the counterfeit drugs are coming from the same source.
Nadine: Well, why don't you start with the zaccharas and then go from there? I mean, claudia was hanging around the clinic, she had access and opportunity.
Nikolas: Hold on, we can't start making random accusations here.
Lucky: Nikolas is right, we need proof.
Lucky: Listen, I'll be happy to take down any information you had to offer and I'll just take it over to pcpd.
Sam: What if that doesn't work for me?
Max: They're from miss howard.
Diane: I should have known, the woman has impeccable taste. So why she's with sonny is beyond me. Speaking of which, ihe home?
Max: Uh, the boss stepped out. He should be back soon, though.
Diane: Which begs the question, why are you here? Not that I mind.
Max: Um, the thing is, uh, i have been meaning to talk to you about this. Nothing's been decided yet -- well, actually, it has been decided, but I just haven't --
Diane: You are returning to sonny's employ.
Max: How did you know?
Diane: [Laughing] Oh -- you've been miserable ever since you stopped working for him. Which makes no sense to me, but I don't judge you, max. I simply appreciate you for the loyal, upstanding, flexible man that you are.
Max: Well, thank you, that means a lot.
Diane: I assume that you stipulated that you and I will continue to see each other.
Max: That was the first thing i told the boss.
Diane: You forceful man, you.
Sonny: Hey, flirt on your own time. If you're going to to do this, don't do it here, while you're working. I pay you by the hour.
Diane: Well, this won't take nearly that long, I just need your signature on a couple of contracts.
Max: Did you talk to kate?
Sonny: Did you talk to jason? Because you can't quit until you talk to him.
Diane: These contracts are for the antiguan purchase. Now, they reflect the terms that you negotiated. However, they have asked --
Sonny: Yeah, just leave it on the -- there. I'm going to look at that later. Corinthos... this is just -- this is no.
Diane: I'm going to assume by your somber demeanor --
Sonny: What?
Diane: That kate has somehow failed to meet an expectation in some way. Get used to it. Independent, free thinking women, like kate and myself, are defined by our careers, not by whatever man we happen to be with at any given moment. And if you think that a ring, even five karats, is somehow going to turn kate into a docile housewife whose only goal in life is to cater to your mood swings, I strongly advise you to reconsider this marriage. Or get used to the inevitable disappointment.
Maxie: I'm here to see john zacchara.
Mac: What possible reason could you have for wanting to visit johnny?
Maxie: Dad, I could explain it to you but it would probably be kind of awkwar
Mac: Try me.
Maxie: You said you didn't want to talk to me about my sex life.
Mac: You're sleeping with johnny zacchara?
Maxie: No, but I did sleep with logan, mostly to hurt lulu's feelings, and then when lulu found out she hit logan to the curb, which of course he blamed all on me. You know, I don't know if you knew logan when he was alive, but he wasn't the greatest guy. In fact he was downright insulting. Johnny, on the other hand, he's been really nice to me and i feel bad, I just want to help.
Mac: Ah, maxie, you know, for all the trouble you've gotten yourself into, you se have a generous heart.
Maxie: No, I don't, but I love you for thinking that.
Mac: He's in the interrogation room.
Johnny: What do you want?
Maxie: A little help would be nice. Lulu is dangerously close to cracking, and if you don't do something, I think she's going to confess to killing logan.
Sam: Ok, I have a question, just hear me out for a second. How long would it take for an investigation to get up and running, to set up some sort of a task force and go undercover at the hospital?
Lucky: The pcpd's resources is limited. We don't have enough manpower to pull officers off the street and assign them to a task force. Even if we did, I don't know if mac would approve it.
Sam: Oh, I'm not sure I'm quite understanding this. So you're telling that you're planning on doing this all on your own? Come on, lucky, there's got to be hundreds of people on staff between gh and mercy. It could take him months to interview them all. And then what -- do you honestly believe that somebody is going to confess to buying counterfeit drugs and supplying them to patients?
Nadine: Lucky's not the enemy here.
Sam: I know he's not the enemy, it's just a little frustrating when you know that somebody's deliberately hurting people and the police department doesn't have enough funding to do anything about it.
Nikolas: Look, if you can't put together an official task force, ok, I'll fund a private one myself, in conjunction with the pcpd, ok?
Lucky: Well, the more people we have working on this the better chances of finding who's moving these drugs.
Sam: And then we can shut them down. Matt: Hello, I am dr. Hunter.
Jerry: You're a doctor. Matt: Yes, that's me -- you can e my bedside manner. And you are -- jerry, yes. I understand you're having some lower back pain.
Jerry: Yes, by a fairly nasty bruise. Matt: Ok, well, let's have a look, shall we? Can you take that shirt off for me? Matt: Ah, yes, here we are.
Jerry: Ow. Matt: Yeah, how did you do this?
Jerry: I fell into someone's fist actually. Matt: And someone's knife and, apparently, someone's gun as well.
Jerry: Yes, what can I say, I'm extremely clumsy. Matt: And extremely lucky. I can see these all missed vital organs, however this one here --
Jerry: Ow. Matt: Is dangerously close to your kidney, so I am going to have to order some tests to ensure that there is no internal bleeding.
Jerry: You wouldn't be putting me through a batch of unnecessary tests just to pad up your bill, would you? Matt: Well, if you can't pay, i can refer you to a free clinic down the street.
Jerry: Uh, fortunately, money is not a problem in my line of work. Unlike you, who I'm guessing is drowning under a mountain of debt. How far is medical school setting you back exactly? Matt: Why the hell are you so interested in my finances?
Johnny: Stay close to lulu. Do whatever you can to make sure she doesn't confess.
Maxie: She doesn't exactly listen to me.
Johnny: Please be patient.
Maxie: Not one of my strong points.
Johnny: Please, maxie, I need your help.
Maxie: I've done nothing but help since the minute you decided to tell claudia that you killed logan. I didn't think twice about jumping in to save lulu, not that she appreciates it.
Johnny: Well, I do. All I ask is that you continue.
Maxie: I seriously don't know how much longer lulu's going to be able to do this, ok? The guilt of what happened to logan is really getting to her. And now everything that's going on with you. I mean, the stress, it might be too much for her to handle. And if she's anything like her mother, she could completely crash.
Johnny: She won'T.
Maxie: Mental illness runs in her family. And if you don't do something soon, and I mean fast, you could end up losing lulu forever.
Johnny: That can't happen. Please, maxie, I need your help.
[Door opening]
Lulu: Oh, wow, don't you two look cozy.
Kate: Well, I would ask you how yowould like the flowers, but sending them was clearly a mistake.
Sonny: Flowers can't fix the problem, kate.
Kate: They weren't meant to be a solution, sonny. They were meant to tell you that I was thinking about you, and i didn't like the way we left things last night.
Sonny: I -- I didn't like it either.
Kate: Ok, so, look, I'm here. I'm here to apologize, and not just for the argument but for what happened earlier. Had I any idea that alonzo was referring to you, I would have never let him send you away.
Sonny: I know, I know, I know.
Kate: I was dealing with three fires at the time, I was only thinking about the mock-ups.
Sonny: You're always -- that's the -- you don't have to explain, i mean, you know, you've got so much going on, you know.
Kate: No, but it doesn't excuse my behavior. Look, sonny, you know I love you, right?
Sonny: Yeah, and you know that i love you. That's why I have to be honest. I'm not the type of guy who's cut out to be a stay-at-home husband. I can't just cheer from the sidelines while you're out conquering the world.
Kate: I'm not asking you to do that.
Sonny: No, just let me -- can i finish?
Sonny: I won't -- I can't -- be second -- in my wife's life.

Thursday July 17 Part- 1 Carly: Hey, you know what? Last night was amazing. Makes it almost worth fighting with you so we can get to the make up part.
Jax: You know, it really should bother me more the way you sexed and manipulated me.
Carly: What are you talking about? I was just enjoying being with the man I love.
Jax: Right, who had just given you exactly what you wanted.
Carly: I thought we both agreed that it was the best thing for our marriage for you to keep it business only with Kate and not fuel the speculation that you two are dating for the magazine.
Jax: Excuse me.
Kate: Hey -- so, we have a make-or-break meeting in less than an hour. If you're not there, "Crimson" will be out of business before we've even hit the stands.
Jason: Spinelli, search for anything that could implicate Lulu in Logan's murder. I'm sure there's nothing out there, but I -- I want to be -- I want to be positive, okay?
Spinelli: The Jackal will turn his sadly depleted powers to the task at hand.
Jason: What's wrong -- what's wrong with you?
Spinelli: I fear my heart is broken.
Lulu: You do not skip a beat, do you?
Johnny: Lulu, don't.
Lulu: He is locked up for a murder he didn't commit, and only you would see this as an opportunity to hit on him.
Maxie: That's not what's happening.
Johnny: I was trying to get Maxie to help keep --
Lulu: I don't want Maxie's help. I need you to trust me.
Patrick: You know, we have been arguing so much about my role in our baby's life, we haven't even talked about your mother's.
Robin: Hmm.
Patrick: Or what we're going to call her, because it's quite obvious grandma's not going to work.
Robin: Right. I think she was a little freaked out at first, but she's come around to the idea.
Patrick: The fact that she didn't jump for joy at the start might have hurt a little bit.
Robin: No, because I know it has nothing to do with how much she loves me or how much she loves our baby. My mom is going to make the best grandmother ever. I think it was the word "grandmother" that freaked her out, you know? Kind of like the word "father" freaked you out at first. The idea of changing diapers and midnight feedings was all a little too much to deal with at first. You know, it's strange that I could clearly see what my mother was going through, but I couldn't see it when you were going through that, even though it was the same kind of thing.
Patrick: Why do you think that is?
Robin: Maybe because my mom has to love me forever. You don't.
Patrick: I want to.
Robin: I know you love me. I love you, too. I'm just learning to trust that, I guess.
Patrick: Well, I'm learning, too. A little bit more every day. I couldn't imagine my life without you. You and this baby mean everything to me.
Robin: Really? Prove it.
Patrick: How might I do that?
Robin: You could take us to Jake's. Come on. The baby wants cheese fries.
Patrick: Cheese fries?
Robin: Yes.
Sam: Okay, I -- I think I have a plan, okay? Just -- if I could get a job on one of the transport ships, I might be able to get a lead on how the drugs are moved.
Nadine: That sounds incredibly dangerous. And no offense, but it's not like the smuggler's going to take an ad out in the paper. "Wanted, captain for illegal transport of fake drugs."
Sam: Yeah, okay, look, no offense taken, but I did pilot salvage vessels for years. I know pretty much everybody on the waterfront. All I got to do is go down there and say that I'm looking for work, I need the money, and I'm not going to talk.
Nikolas: I'm sorry. I have a big problem with this plan.
Lucky: There is no plan. It's not happening.
Johnny: Lulu, you know I trust you.
Lulu: Yeah, and you're arranging for a girl I hate to keep her eye on me.
Maxie: Hate me all you want, but I have been covering and lying for you since the night Logan died.
Lulu: Maybe I didn't want you to. Maybe I did not want any of this.
Johnny: Okay, I know --
Lulu: No, don't you try to take care of me. You're the one facing murder charges, and you're acting as if this is all going to work itself out, but it's not.
Johnny: If you want me to say it, fine. I was not expecting the cops to find this much proof this quickly, but they did, and there's nothing we can do to change that, and if we try to change it, it'll only make things more difficult.
Lulu: So if you think I'm going to stand by and do nothing, you obviously don't know me at all.
Johnny: Lulu, there's nothing you can do, okay? Lulu!
Maxie: Do you see my point?
Spinelli: I know I should be able to just dismiss this with a manly shrug. You know, she's just a girl, a fair wisp of blondeness. But I can't. It hurts too much.
Jason: I know.
Spinelli: Yeah, but it's pathetic, I know. Wait, you know? Have -- have you felt the flame of passion, only to be incinerated by its blazing white heat? Have you suffered this way? Look, I'm sorry. I don't mean to pry into Stone Cold's personal life. It's just that I -- gosh, I -- I need something -- wisdom. Is it true what they say, that the pain will fade over time? Because while I was certain on at least five or six occasions that Lulu broke my heart, I now know that the intensity of real love is quite different in both its rapture and its despair.
Jason: What happened with Maxie?
Spinelli: She apologized for sleeping with me, felt she'd taken advantage of me and then she vowed to never let it happen again, because it might poison our friendship.
Jason: Maybe she's right.
Spinelli: Does the master really believe that a sexual relationship, as it were, would taint the warm and meaningful feelings --
Spinelli: Perhaps Maximista has seen the flaws in her reasoning and has returned to the Jackal's side. Enter, fair one.
Max: I need to talk to Jason.
Spinelli: A most inopportune arrival.
Jason: Come in, Max.
Max: Is this a bad time?
Spinelli: Most assuredly. I was just about to avail myself --
Max: Spinelli, I need to talk to Jason for a second. Can you give us a second, please?
Spinelli: Sure, fine. I'll just retire to my regrettably pink room and pine for that which was once mine but apparently never will be again.
Jason: What's going on?
Max: Milo and I have been talking it over, and the boss, Mr. C -- Jason, he needs us. He's living in a house with no security. He's driving himself back and forth to the coffee warehouse, and he's still a target. Not that you haven't done a great job taking over the territory.
Jason: Max, get to the point.
Max: Listen, Jason, you don't even need me and Milo, but Mr. C does.
Jason: Whose idea is this, yours or Sonny's?
Max: Mine. I just talked to Mr. C about it. He told me I needed to come over and tell you myself. I hope that you don't think we're being disloyal. It's more about what Mr. C is used to. I just think he's having a tough time adjusting, and I really haven't --
Jason: I agree.
Max: You do?
Jason: Yeah, I never wanted Sonny without guards in the first place. I think you and Milo should be with him.
Max: Wow, thank you, Jason, for understanding.
Jason: Max, look, I'm not -- I'm not asking you to spy on Sonny, nothing like that. I just -- if he gets in trouble, will you just let me know? Because I haven't turned on Sonny, no matter what he thinks.
Carly: If you need Jax for a meeting, have your assistant call his assistant. Don't show up at my house trying to take him away in person.
Jax: Carly --
Kate: Jax, I certainly understand why you chose not to fuel the speculation about you and I, even though it is good for business, which was my only motivation.
Carly: Are you done, Kate?
Kate: And I am sensitive to the strain that might be placed on your relationship, because I'm actually feeling the same with Sonny, but this meeting is strictly business.
Jax: Right, which is why I'll be there.
Kate: Great. Without foreign distribution, we won't be able to deliver the numbers we promised our advertisers.
Jax: We'll get the distribution.
Kate: Thank you, Jax. I'll have the numbers ready, and I'll expect you to play hardball.
Jax: See you at the office.
Kate: Okay.
Carly: Don't tell me you're buying any of that. She will do anything she can to be in the same room with you, and when you close this deal, and I'm sure you will, Kate's going to want to celebrate.
Jax: Look, look, look --
Carly: Are you going to tell me that's business too?
Jax: If "Crimson" doesn't meet the distribution that we promised the advertisers then we'll go broke in six months. Carly, if you can't see this meeting as crucial, then I don't know. I just -- I don't have time to explain it to you right now. I got to go.
Eli: Hey, I was telling your friend, Coleman, actually that this place -- it reminds me of a bar back home.
Anna: Oh, yeah, in Melbourne?
Eli: Yeah, it's -- we should go there for a few drinks next time we're there.
Anna: Okay.
Eli: That is, provided you're planning on coming on the Aussie leg of the tour.
Anna: When is it?
Eli: Fall, end of October, maybe. I'll have -- I'll have Chip send you the exact date.
Anna: Yeah, it's all right. I'll catch up with you on the European leg.
Eli: Why, you don't want to come see my home in Melbourne?
Anna: Yeah, of course I do. I'd love to, but I have other plans for the fall.
Eli: What plans?
Anna: I should have told you this -- but then I'd have to kill you.
Eli: Hey, it's Patrick and Robin. Come over for drinks, guys. We've been waiting for you. Come on. Whoa, whoa! Wait a minute. You're pregnant? Hey, that makes you a --
Anna: A grandma.
Lucky: It's common knowledge that you and I are dating. So tell me, who's going to help a cop's girlfriend to smuggle drugs?
Sam: I have worked scams most of my adult life. I know how to handle myself.
Lucky: We're talking big money here. They won't hesitate to kill you if they find out who you are.
Sam: Yes, I know. Is it risky? Absolutely. But if we go by the book on this, somebody will die.
Nikolas: You get involved, you could die.
Lucky: I'm not being Joe cop here, but my father's way will not work on this. It's the department's responsibility to deal with this, even if it takes longer than you're comfortable with.
Maxie: Maybe we could get an attorney. You know, Diane Miller. Spinelli's always talking about how she's made a career out of representing felons and criminals, getting them out of huge messes.
Johnny: Maxie, I have attorneys.
Maxie: I am talking about someone on the outside, someone who could look after all of us. I mean, maybe Diane can convince Lulu to -- to confess, and she could get probation or something.
Johnny: Don't you bail on Lulu.
Maxie: I'm sorry, but you're plan of protecting Lulu, it's not really worked out all that well, and all you've done is get yourself charged for a murder that you didn't commit.
Johnny: Okay, you know what? Both of us know why I did this and why you went along with it. Logan attacked you before he went after Lulu, remember? He was ready to rape you and maybe kill her.
Maxie: Okay, well, we should just tell our lawyer that.
Johnny: There are no witnesses. It is your word and Lulu's for what happened, and when Scott Baldwin shows up, he is going to want whoever took Logan out to fry. And I can still do this, but you cannot cave on me. Even dead, Logan has the power to ruin our lives. He can't win. Don't do this.
Maxie: Okay, okay, I'll see what I can do.
Spinelli: Has Mr. Giambetti finished with his ill-timed visit?
Jason: Max and Milo are going back to work for Sonny.
Spinelli: Mr. Sir will no doubt welcome their return.
Jason: Yeah, it's just a better arrangement for everybody.
Spinelli: Actually, the Jackal begs to differ, because now Stone Cold will not only be short one, but two pivotal protectors of the night. And now, of course, you will turn your attention to more pressing business matters and have no time for the Jackal's romantic woes.
Jason: Hey, you know I'd help you if I could, but if all Maxie wants is a friendship, you need to respect that.
Spinelli: Yeah, but I can't ever look at Maximista as a mere friend. I mean, not after -- after standing atop the summit of Everest, after having my soul purged in the desolate plain of the Nambi desert, in the sacred waters of the Ganges. I was a fool to believe she could feel the same way.
Jason: You know, some people can't really be happy in love. I know this don't make any sense to you at all right now, with how you're feeling, but when Maxie is offering a friendship, maybe it's because it's the only way she can feel that you guys can keep what you have right now.
Spinelli: Stone Cold's words are wise. His reasoning is sound, but it doesn't lessen the Jackal's hope that one day Maximista --
[Pounding on door]
Spinelli: Surely, Max would not return a second time, right? It -- it must be Maximista. Wait. How do I look?
Carly: Hi. Spinelli, I'm sorry, but I need to talk to Jason alone.
Spinelli: I've -- clearly, Jackal's been waiting in vain for a change of heart. Sadly, his romantic fate is sealed.
Carly: Okay, did I hurt his feelings?
Jason: No, somebody else did. Why do you need to see me?
Carly: Because I need to get rid of Kate Howard as soon as possible.
Eli: You are so pregnant.
Robin: Okay, you really have to stop saying that.
Eli: How is that possible?
Patrick: Well, it's very -- fairly common when a man and a woman love each other. They --
Eli: No, no, I know that topic, mate. But I mean, how is it possible I missed it last night?
Robin: Well, because I was in a hurry. I was on my way to surgery, and we had to --
Anna: Robin was deliberately avoiding you for my sake.
Eli: Because?
Anna: You're a rock star, and I'm a soon-to-be-grandmother, and Robin was withholding that little piece of information, and I let her, which is fundamentally dishonest, and I'm sorry for that. My only defense is that I've really enjoyed spending time with you. I've loved it. It was great.
Eli: Wait. You're the most amazing, kick-ass woman I have ever met. You connect with me. You connect with my music. Why would I walk away from that just because your daughter gets herself knocked up?
Jason: Will you -- will you calm down, please?
Carly: I'm trying to calm down. That's why I'm here, okay? I have to think things through. I have to be very careful in how I get rid of Kate, because if I tick off Sonny, he's going to tell Jax that we slept together.
Jason: Well, then maybe you shouldn't go after Kate.
Carly: I have tried coexist. I have told Jax that I can't stand him spending time with a woman who constantly hits on him.
Jason: She kissed him one time, Carly.
Carly: Oh, great, now you're defending her.
Jason: No, I'm not defending her. I'm just saying, is it worth everything to blow your life apart, to blow your marriage apart for this?
Carly: My marriage is already in trouble. Jax won't hear it. He keeps telling me it's all about business, and I'm supposed to sit around and just accept that?
Jason: Well, he's got a lot of money invested in Kate and the magazine. What --
Carly: Okay, fine, then I'm going to find a way for Jax to sell Kate out at a profit.
Kate: Oh, good, I wasn't entirely sure you would make it.
Jax: You heard what I said to Carly.
Kate: Jax, I don't want you to regret getting involved in this project.
Jax: I have no regrets, okay?
Kate: Okay, and I really don't want to cause personal problems for you.
Jax: Well, then let's talk about business. What can you tell me about this European distributor?
Kate: Hans Brekker. We need him. He knows it. He's going to play hardball.
Jax: German guy?
Kate: Ja.
Jax: Oh, that is awesome.
Kate: Here he is. Hans.
Hans: How wonderful to see you, Kate.
Kate: And this is my business partner, Jasper Jax.
Jax: [Speaking German]
Hans: [Speaking German]
Kate: Thank you.
Jax: Shall we get to business?
Jax: Please.
Hans: Thank you. I'll be frank. I have concerns about launching the American version of "Crimson." I think our markets would be more receptive to a European issue, perhaps in French or German.
Kate: Well, our strategy is to penetrate the market first and then make the move when the timing is right.
Hans: Oh, in that case, maybe you should hold off European distribution altogether.
Kate: Well, actually, "Couture" is going to run a preview section in all of their issues, including the European one, so we think the market is going to be primed for our debut.
Jax: If "Crimson" is positioned near "Couture," our market research indicates strong sales. Very strong sales, actually.
Hans: I'll be taking substantial risk, so I'll expect a higher share of the profits. After all, you are still an unknown quantity.
Jax: Yes, but Kate Howard is the most known quantity in the fashion industry. Yes, the magazine is new, but it's also young and fresh, aims at a much younger demographic. It will be the perfect vehicle for an e-publishing arm.
Hans: They have an e-publishing arm.
Jax: Right, which generated less than 2% of revenue last year. Hans, we have a proposal here that will help make that figure 20%. Kate pretty much put you on the map with "Couture," didn't she? Her new magazine, "crimson," is the future.
Hans: I'd like to see those figures.
Jax: I'm sure you would.
Jerry: Thank you for your kind attention.
Matt: Oh, I am not done with you yet. I need to get a ct scan of his kidneys.
Elizabeth: He was punched.
Matt: The severity of your pain, what would you compare that to? A stubbed toe? Childbirth?
Elizabeth: Hey.
Matt: How about watching the cable news?
Jerry: Yes, that one, yes.
Matt: Okay, is it steady?
Jerry: Oh, no, it's -- oh.
Matt: Yes, okay. See, he has episodic pain of colic, which means that he --
Elizabeth: Is having kidney pain that comes and goes?
Matt: Yes. Have you also had strep throat recently?
Jerry: Yes, as a matter of fact, I have.
Matt: Let me get a urine sample as well.
Elizabeth: You're testing for PSGN?
Matt: No, I want to see if he's taken any cool drugs. You never know when you're going to need a new dealer.
Elizabeth: Sometimes a bruise is just a bruise.
Matt: Nadine, the little girl who came into the clinic earlier with the antibiotic issue, how is she doing?
Nadine: She's stable. It helps that now she's getting actual antibiotics instead of the fake ones she was given at Mercy.
Elizabeth: Oh, that's scary to think the meds we're giving to cure patients could actually be useless counterfeits.
Nadine: Yeah.
[Elevator bell rings]
Lucky: Hey, can I talk to you for a minute?
Elizabeth: Yeah. Excuse me.
Lucky: Listen, something's come up, and I kind of have to work this weekend. I'm supposed to take Cameron to the -- you know, the baseball game this week, and I just really hate to disappoint him.
Elizabeth: Don't even worry about it. He -- he knows what you do is important. His daddy saves lives for a living. It's okay. I'll explain it to him again.
Lucky: Thank you.
Elizabeth: Don't worry about things like this.
Lucky: I know, it's just that I don't want to --
Sam: Well, you can never make time for me, but her, a woman who cheated on you and dumped you --
Elizabeth: No, no, no, Sam, this is not what it looks like.
Sam: No, I know when a guy -- I know exactly what it is, and I'm sick to death of it.
Maxie: Oh, God, why did you turn off your phone?
Lulu: I wanted to be alone. Take a hint.
Maxie: You know how I knew you would come here? Georgie told me this is where you like to think.
Lulu: Oh, don't do that. Don't bring up your sister in that way. She was a good person, and I hurt her, too, and on the other hand, you are the exact opposite.
Maxie: You owe me.
Lulu: I did not ask to cover up what happened to Logan.
Maxie: You could have said something that night, Lulu. When Johnny started talking about wanting to cover it up or Claudia came in and Johnny said that he wanted to take the blame? You could have said something then.
Lulu: Fine, fine, fine, fine. I am -- I am a coward. I am a tease. I drove Logan so crazy he was ready to kill us both, but I beat him to it, okay? And I let Johnny take the blame. I did this. I get it. What I would really like is for you to go away so I can figure this out.
Maxie: Take it from someone who knows. When you make a mess this big, there is no way to fix it.
Spinelli: This visit may be ill-advised.
Johnny: Well, you should have thought about that before.
Spinelli: No, I -- I've considered this from all angles, extrapolated all possible outcomes, and yes, I think you deserve to know the truth.
Johnny: The truth about what?
Spinelli: See, it was just -- gosh, the fact that Maximista needed someone and came to me? God, it's all I've ever wanted, but this -- I was not equipped. What she confided, I -- I had to tell Stone Cold.
Johnny: And by Stone Cold, you mean Jason?
Spinelli: Yeah, well, it was not my intention to betray the confidence, but she was so deeply distressed, and I just feared --
Johnny: What did Maxie tell you?
Spinelli: That it was Lulu, not you, who killed Logan.
Johnny: That bitch.

Thursday July 17 Part - 2 Eli: Get this man a drink.
Coleman: The usual?
Eli: Make it a double. I think he deserves it.
Patrick: I appreciate the sympathy, but I'm looking forward to being a father. Sort of. Yes, it took me a little bit to come around.
Coleman: Hey, I'm not complaining. This pregnancy has made you my best customers.
Eli: To the father to be. Congratulations?
Patrick: Cheers.
Anna: I feel really stupid and shallow thinking that Eli would just run for the hills as soon as he found out I was going to be a grandmother.
Robin: I understood why you were worried. I was a little worried. I mean, I have been worried ever since you got involved with him because I don't want you to get hurt.
Anna: I know. I don't want Patrick to hurt you either. I was kind of worried about you, too.
Robin: What do you know? They both surprised us.
Harper: Settle down, Zacchara. You're going to have to leave.
Johnny: Wait, it's fine. I've calmed down, all right?
Spinelli: Actually, you know, it was my fault. I was trying to impress him with my Italian and I think I inadvertently called into question the sexual orientation of all the men in the Zacchara family.
Johnny: Just let him finish the visit.
Harper: Okay.
Spinelli: Sorry. Thank you.
Spinelli: Maximista does not deserve your wrath, okay? She was -- she was most distressed, she'd been threatened by your father.
Johnny: Okay, but if Maxie tells my father or my sister or anyone else that Lulu killed Logan, they're going to turn to the cops in a heartbeat.
Spinelli: But see, it's Maxie who is worried that Lulu won't be able to live with her guilt.
Johnny: I'm afraid of the same thing. That Lulu's going to confess everything.
Spinelli: Yeah, but since the fair one no doubt killed the simian out of self-defense, wouldn't that --
Johnny: There's no proof of that. There are no witness, no record of a 911 call. Lulu put Logan in a coma not too long ago and you can be damned sure that Logan's father, the special prosecutor, will see Lulu brought up on trial for murder charges.
Spinelli: While your reasoning is dauntingly accurate, I think there is some hope. Lulu has been told by everyone to refrain from confessing, so if you continue to press that point, maybe --
Johnny: Lulu is not only blaming herself for Logan's death, but also for me being arrested. It's tearing her apart. It's going to wreck her life, and I don't know how to stop it.
Lulu: Don't you ever compare yourself to me. You deliberately seduced my brother, you fed him pills --
Maxie: Stop it. Stop it. We don't need to make a rundown of all the horrible things we've done to each other. That's not what matters right now. I've learned at a certain point all the lies and secrets hit critical mass and you are running so hard from everything you can't keep up. That's exactly where you are.
Lulu: I don't need you to tell me what kind of a mess I'm in --
Maxie: You have to take a step back and accept the fact that Johnny wants to do this for you, okay? He -- his family wants to protect him and they can. Logan was crazy -- yes, at one point in time he cared for you. But he lost his mind, Lulu. He wanted to kill you, and now he's dead. You have to let it go.
Lulu: That is the difference between the two of us. You can do something horrible, realize what you did wrong, even say you're sorry, and leave it all behind. You could have killed Logan, let Johnny take the blame without a second thought. But I am not like you. I need to do something.
Maxie: No, you are not the only one whose life is on the line here. I made myself an accessory trying to help you.
Lulu: Well, you're a really good liar, I'm sure you'll come up with something to get out of it.
Sam: You keep telling me that you're committed to me, now here you are again with your ex?
Lucky: We were talking about Cameron.
Sam: Oh, don't give me that.
Lucky: It's the truth.
Sam: No, the truth is, I was a rebound, a way to make Elizabeth jealous after the divorce. Now the two of you are healing old wounds.
Lucky: I told you those kids would be a priority to me.
Sam: This has nothing to do with the kids.
Lucky: So it's about Elizabeth and I working together to be better parents.
Sam: No, this is about you wanting Elizabeth back. You always have. And I am not going to stick around in case things don't work out.
Lucky: Fine.
Sam: I am so over this, Lucky. And you.
Lucky: Great.
Sam: He's all yours.
Jax: Well, Hans, it's been a pleasure.
Hans: [Speaking German] Kate.
Kate: He's thanking us. Jax, seriously? You're brilliant.
Jax: Hey, I was negotiating from strength. This magazine is going to be huge.
Kate: Yeah, well, it has potential.
Jax: Is Kate Howard questioning Kate Howard?
Kate: Okay, look. Do I think I can produce the world's best magazine? No question. Could I have gotten that European distribution deal?
Jax: Well, Kate, if you could do it all, you wouldn't need me.
Kate: And I do need you and it's not just the money, Jax, it's your know-how.
Jax: Oh. That's one of the things I bring to the table.
Kate: Right. But exactly what kind of partnership can we have if we have restricted access to each other?
Jax: Ah --
Kate: No, no, Jax, seriously. Look, I don't want to cause problems between you and Carly, and I understand why you don't want to be seen with me in public. But Jax, if "Crimson" is going to succeed, I need you here.
Carly: I could get Kate's old boss Warren James to buy "Crimson" from Jax.
Jason: Now why would he want to do that?
Carly: I'd have to sell him on it. Which means I would need his private phone number and his email address. Where's Spinelli?
Jason: Well, he's gone, you kicked him out.
Carly: Lulu can get that information for me.
Jason: You know what? Johnny Zacchara was just arrested for killing Logan. I think Lulu's thinking about other things right now, Carly.
Carly: Oh, God, that's why she didn't call me back. Do you really think Johnny killed Logan?
Jason: It doesn't matter what I think.
Carly: You're right, you're right, you're right. I cannot lose focus. I've got to get rid of Kate.
Jason: I want to -- I just want to remind you of something. Sometimes your plans, they backfire.
Carly: All right, if you're trying to warn me that I could lose Jax for good, it's not going to happen. I've lost too much already. I'm not going to lose my husband.
Patrick: Hey.
Robin: So what were you talking to the rock star about?
Patrick: I was just telling him that I'm looking forward to being a father.
Robin: What did he think about that? The truth.
Coleman: Eli thinks some men were born to be wild.
Patrick: Perfect. Eli. Hey, my old man. How are you doing?
Chip: This is Allison. She's from "A.S." magazine. Allison.
Eli: Hey, Allison.
Chip: Eli.
Allison: Pleasure to meet you.
Coleman: What can I do for you folks?
Chip: Uh, just a soda. I've got a long night ahead.
Allison: Uh, I'll take a beer. Doesn't feel right drinking anything else in a place like this.
Coleman: I'll take that as a compliment.
Allison: Well, you should, I love the atmosphere. But it's not exactly where I pictured you hanging out.
Eli: Good, I like to be unpredictable.
Anna: You're definitely that.
Allison: So you're the girlfriend?
Eli: Oh, my girlfriend's flying in from Sydney tomorrow, actually. She's doing a photo shoot, you know? Can't seem to get enough photos of her in a bikini. Not that I blame them. Anna and I are old friends. We're old friends. She goes way, way back. She's pretty much settled down, now, right? You're going to be a grandmother soon, aren't you?
Nikolas: Hey.
Nikolas: What's wrong?
Elizabeth: I'm worried about lucky.
Nikolas: Why, what happened?
Elizabeth: He came to the hospital to talk to me about Cameron, and Sam totally misread the situation and turned it into this big fight.
Nikolas: Okay. Well, why -- why does that concern you?
Elizabeth: Well, they're fighting because of me. And I can't get involved.
Nikolas: It sounds to me like it's between Sam and lucky.
Elizabeth: Yeah, except I've made things more difficult. It's no secret that I was opposed to Lucky dating Sam, and it's only recently that I've made peace with it. And I actually thought Sam and I had reached some kind of a truce, but I guess it was too little, too late. Look, I don't want Lucky to lose her because of me. So I thought maybe you could talk to him and talk to Sam and help them try to work this out?
Nikolas: Why? Why would you want me to do that if you don't even think that Sam is right for him?
Elizabeth: After everything I've done to hurt Lucky, the least I can do is just get out of the way and let him be happy with Sam.
Matt: When were the drugs purchased? Do you know the distributor? Well, what about a batch number? No, no, don't follow up, I'll -- I will take care of it.
Carly: How was your meeting?
Jax: It was good. It was really good.
Carly: Kate was glad you were there.
Jax: Yeah, she's glad we got the distribution, wouldn't have happened if I hadn't been there. Of course, it made me realize that until the magazine is launched, I need to be a little bit more hands-on.
Carly: That's great, Jax.
Jax: Oh, come on, Carly. I'm not doing this to spend more time with Kate, okay? We're not having an affair, I'm not kissing her. We're not going to be socializing or anything like that. You have to trust me. You know what's at stake here.
Carly: Yeah, there's a lot at stake here.
Jax: Financially. I made an investment, and I'm going to see that it turns a profit. Come on. This is what I do.
Carly: I understand. And I can live with that. And I do trust you.
Anna: I wouldn't dream of intruding on my old friend's interview. Excuse me. I'm leaving.
Robin: No. Go tell that girl the truth. Tell her that Eli is really into you.
Anna: Mm-mm. No, if it's part of his public image to pretend that I'm just an old friend, that's his --
Coleman: That guy's done way too many drugs if he thinks that an action babe like you doesn't fit right in with his image.
Anna: Thank you.
Coleman: You're welcome.
Patrick: You know what, you're being way too nice about this. Excuse me.
Eli: Well, I got my inspiration from --
Patrick: Excuse me, hey, Eli. I have something from my child's grandmother.
Eli: Oh.
Sam: Oh! I can't believe --
Lucky: Are you sure about this?
Sam: Oh, my gosh, completely.
Lucky: Well, I never want to fight like that for real.
Sam: I know. And I can't believe -- I've got to tell you, I am so happy that you trust me enough to do this, to stage a phony breakup. It's so cute. Mm.
Lucky: You know, I don't feel very comfortable about lying to the people I care about. Even less you putting yourself in danger --
Sam: I know, but as long as we can get a lead on who's putting the fake drugs in the hospitals, everything is going to be okay as long as you're with me on this. I know I can do it. Mm.
Lucky: I'm not going anywhere.
Nikolas: Hello?
Nadine: Hey. I just overhead that new resident, Matt Hunter, on the phone. He was talking about counterfeit drugs.
Nikolas: Are you sure?
Nadine: Absolutely. He definitely knows more than he's saying.
Jax: You know what, I would love nothing more than to spend all morning in bed with you. But there's still some work I have to do on the "Crimson" distribution deal. So I'm sorry. Rain check?
Carly: Sure.
Carly: You go be a master of the universe.
Jax: I love you.
Carly: Hey. It's Carly Jacks. I need to see you right away.
Maxie: I don't like coming to you for help. But I think you're the only one who can fix this.
Maxie: I tried to help her, okay? I tried to convince Lulu to stick to the plan, but I think I just blew it and made things worse. Right now I feel like Lulu could do anything.
Jul 20, 2008 10:50
Sonny: The thing is I don't need the deal that badly, Diane. If they can't pay what we're asking, no deal. I mean, these are coffee brokers.
Sonny: They don't know how to play hardball. I do. Thank you.
Sasha: Is Mr. Corinthos at home?
Max: You know, I'm sorry. Mr. Corinthos is busy right now, but if you would like to leave a message, I can --
Sonny: Who's out there? Let me hear what the lady has to say.
Sasha: You must be Mr. Corinthos.
Sonny: Yes. And you are?
Sasha: An attorney here on behalf of my client -- Andrei Karpov.
Sonny: Hmm. Well, I'm retired, so I don't know what Andrei Karpov could possibly want with me.
Claudia: You know what's funny about you asking me to meet you here? The last time I tried to give you my business, you had me thrown out. It's nice to see you've changed your mind.
Carly: I have a business proposal for you. One that will get you access to Sonny.
Spinelli: While it's evident that Maximista is troubled, it's been proven most unwise to just show up and demand --
Maxie: I don't have time to beg, okay? I came by to tell you guys that Lulu is at Defcon one, and if someone doesn't do something fast, she's going to blow everyone's life to hell, including her own.
Mac: It would save everybody, including yourself, a lot of trouble if you just admit you killed Logan Hayes in self-defense.
Lulu: I want to see Johnny Zacchara.
Desk sergeant: You'll have to wait your turn.
Patrick: Take Mr. Love to x-ray, and I'll examine him after the doctor.
Chip: You want to examine him? You're the one who punched him.
Patrick: I'm also the one who saved his life last summer.
Cassius: Yeah, I guess it's true what they say about the business. You're only as good as your last gig, right?
Eli: Do you have any idea what you've bloody well done? Ow!
Chip: Don't try and speak. You know, if you broke his jaw, we might have to cancel the rest of the tour. We'll sue, probably put you in jail for aggravated assault.
Anna: Well, then I'll go to the tabloids with the dirt on my affair with the fabulous Eli Love. And that a granny gets his motor going.
Patrick: It's probably nothing more than a bruise anyways. Go ahead, Cassius.
Cassius: Sure thing. And I can actually play my latest composition. It's kind of like a hip-hop opera, if you will.
[Robin chuckles]
Robin: You.
Patrick: What?
Robin: Well, you know how I call you a Neanderthal when you want to solve problems with your fists?
Patrick: Yes.
Robin: Well, this time, caveman, I approve.
Patrick: Really?
Robin: Mm-hmm.
Johnny: Why not take this to my lawyers? Isn't that how deals are supposed to work?
Mac: I don't trust your lawyers and neither should you. Ric and Trevor Lansing are loyal to your father. They do what's in Anthony Zacchara's best interest, not yours.
Johnny: My freedom is in my father's best interest.
Mac: Both men are afraid of your father. They tell him what he wants to hear, that they can get you acquitted, but they can't.
Johnny: And I'm supposed to take your word on that?
Mac: Sooner or later, we're going to find your accomplice, and when we do, you better hope they don't roll over on you just to save himself.
Trevor: You shouldn't be here. Johnny doesn't need any distractions.
Lulu: If you try and make me leave, I'll start yelling for my brother, the cop.
Trevor: Lulu, I believe that you really do care about John.
Lulu: I don't care what you believe in.
Trevor: Well, do you believe that I know John has been brought up on charges for murder because of you? So every minute that you spend with him, you drive him towards his own destruction. Now stay away from him.
Mac: You'd be smart to think about it.
Trevor: Commissioner, you wouldn't be questioning my client now would you? Without the benefit of counsel.
Johnny: Actually, the commissioner just offered me a deal.
Claudia: Now, wasn't it you who accused me of being a stalker obsessed with Sonny?
Carly: A lot has happened since then.
Claudia: Look, Carly, I can't even imagine what you're going through, but if this is about Michael, I'm really not sure how I can help you.
Carly: This isn't about Michael. It's about life after Michael. My husband is in business with that witch Kate Howard.
Claudia: You know that Sonny is not going to stick around that one.
Carly: I know that. And he's going to be looking for someone more exciting. Put you in the proximity, and everybody gets what they want.
Claudia: You must be really mad at him if you want to use me as revenge against him.
Carly: I want Jax out of business with Kate Howard by any means necessary. That's where you come in.
Sasha: So what do you know about my client?
Sonny: Andrei Karpov? Player in the Russian mafia.
Sasha: You're mistaken. Mr. Karpov is a successful businessman.
Sonny: Good for him.
Sasha: My client is intrigued with the Port Charles area. He wants to establish a presence here, and he hopes that you, Mr. Corinthos, can help.
Sonny: As I mentioned, I'm retired.
Sasha: Mr. Karpov is aware of your career change. All he asks is a meeting to discuss options.
Sonny: Well, maybe I need to hear from Mr. Karpov himself.
Nikolas: You made it.
Nadine: I told you we'd be back, and apparently so are the patients.
Nikolas: Yeah. Look, I know how valuable your time is. I just want you both to know that I appreciate you spending some of it here.
Leyla: Oh, yeah, of course, but you should be thanking Nadine. She's your biggest cheerleader. And she's come up with a pretty good sales pitch, too.
Nadine: Well, I simply pointed out the spiritual rewards of volunteering to help those less fortunate.
Nikolas: Right.
Leyla: Which I fell for. I should get started.
Nadine: Um, I'm going to see if I can find anything to tie Dr. Hunter to the counterfeit drugs. I mean, right now it's an overheard phone call and a hunch, but I have a feeling that --
Nikolas: [Whispering] All right, he's here.
Nadine: Oh, okay. Um, so it looks like --
Matt: Oh, we're busy. I'm sorry. Did I interrupt something? Just seems like an oddly public place to be having such a private conversation now, you know.
Nikolas: We were actually talking about you.
Robin: Eli Love is a dog.
Anna: He's a dog. And I am not feeling angry or deeply offended. The whole thing is just incredibly sad.
Robin: It's probably why they say you shouldn't meet your idols. They never live up to your expectations.
Anna: Obviously, I felt that he spoke to my heart. And his lyrics are so beautiful, and he's just so charismatic and vulnerable on stage. I know I joked about the whole groupie thing, but I honestly believed that we connected on some deep level. It's ridiculous.
Robin: Well, first of all, you're no one's groupie. Second of all, he was as big of a fan of yours as you were of his.
Anna: Okay, maybe we did have the mutual admiration thing going. And of course the sex -- oh, that's -- sorry. Sorry. Because he has been such a horrible dweeb and just so shallow, I kind of feel like I need to justify the whole thing on some level.
Robin: Well, I'm sorry he disappointed you.
Anna: No, you know, it was just the wake-up call I needed. Really. We were both being shallow. I, at least, knew it.
Robin: Oh, please. Do not compare yourself to that dweeb.
Anna: Yeah, I mean, you know, age is just a number, right? It doesn't mean anything. I mean, who really cares? Being a grandmother is a beautiful thing. It's a beautiful gift from you to me, you lovely thing. I'm so excited, and I am so grateful that I'm actually young enough to be able to watch your child grow up. Thank you.
Patrick: Well, I'm waiting for x-rays, but it looks like it could be a hairline fracture in Eli's jaw. In that case, he won't be able to sing, and I could be in serious trouble.
Jason: How many times did you see Logan the day he died?
Maxie: Three. I ran into him on the Elm Street pier after I left visiting Spinelli at the hospital. He was talking to Dr. Hunter, the resident that treated Spinelli.
Spinelli: Yeah, his artistry as a doctor is beyond compare, but his bedside manner is lacking.
Maxie: He's a jerk. But Logan was a bigger jerk, so I told Dr. Hunter I thought Logan was a loser, which was a really bad idea. But how was I supposed to know that Logan was going crazy?
Jason: How did Logan respond to that?
Maxie: He called me a slut and a lot of other not nice things, then left, and Dr. Hunter even said he thought he was going crazy.
Jason: What about the next time you saw him?
Maxie: I was at work. Lulu was at work, too. And so was Kate. He just showed up at our office and said he was going to win Lulu back.
Spinelli: Which is completely irrational because the crabby commando is ancient history in the blonde one's world.
Jason: Then what?
Maxie: Logan gave some big speech about how great he and Lulu had been until I ruined everything.
Jason: Did Lulu defend herself?
Maxie: She tried to be as direct with him as possible. She told him that she was happy I had slept with Logan because she never would have met Johnny, and -- I mean, I realize now that that was the moment Logan snapped.
Claudia: Assuming that I want an all-access pass, what's in it for me, and what is your plan?
Carly: Jax is the primary investor of "Crimson" magazine. And I want you to buy him out.
Claudia: While I can see why that would work for you, but again, where's the incentive for me?
Carly: Since your father's release, you've been wandering around Port Charles like you're lost. I'm guessing you're not involved in the family business anymore. You could use a project to focus on, don't you think?
Claudia: Oh, and you think that I should make my mark in the world of fashion?
Carly: With Kate and Sonny engaged, Sonny is going to be at "Crimson" offices all the time. Sonny has no will power. He loves temptation. And you can easily seduce him.
Claudia: As easily as falling out of bed? But here's where you're plan hits a wall. Why would I invest enormous sums of money to get access to a man I've already had?
Jax: Well, this is unexpected. I can't imagine what you two have to talk about.
Claudia: Carly wants me to buy your share of "Crimson." And I have to say that I think it's a very intriguing proposal.
Jax: Really? Wow. I didn't realize that my shares of "Crimson" were for sale. I don't think they are. I'm sorry if Carly misled you.
Claudia: So am I. If you change your mind, let me know.
Noah: Hey, someone page me?
Anna: Yes. Uh, hi. Do you have a minute?
Noah: For you, always.
Anna: Okay, great. So, I've dome something incredibly embarrassing.
Noah: Well, considering the stupid things I've done, I wouldn't worry about it.
Anna: Yeah. I didn't tell Eli that Robin was pregnant. In fact, I actively hid it from him. And it turns out that my instincts were right on, because as soon as he found out I would be a grandmother, he made it very clear that I was too old for him.
Noah: That's really rude.
Anna: I know. It's so rude. Anyway, your lovely son took exception to it, and he took a swing at Eli.
Noah: Patrick punched Eli Love?
Anna: He decked him.
Noah: Wow! Well, I -- I kind of like that.
Anna: Yeah, me, too.
Noah: And I can assure you, you're not too old for anything. But anyway, why do you need to feel the need to confess this to me?
Anna: Oh, I'm getting there. So, it turns out that Eli, he might have, like, a hairline fracture to the jaw, which means that he can't sing. And so his road manager has threatened to sue Patrick if they have to cancel their tour.
Noah: Oh.
Anna: And now I was wondering how you would feel about filling in for Eli on stage one last time?
Noah: Oh, Anna, look, I would love to help you out, but I -- I can't risk that.
Jax: You know, I don't know what makes me angrier, the way you lied about accepting my business dealings with Kate or the fact that you went behind my back to Claudia Zacchara, of all people.
Carly: It wasn't a lie. It wasn't. I was avoiding a fight. And since this is my problem, I figured I should come up with the solution. Claudia can afford to buy you out. You won't lose a dime, and then Kate becomes Claudia's headache.
Jax: Next time you come up with a scheme, Carly, you might want to think it through a little longer and little better. Claudia's money is dirty. A transaction with any Zacchara would subject me to government investigation and approval. Did you forget I plead no contest to rico charges a few years ago to save my brother and my father, because I certainly haven't. My criminal record is actually worse than Sonny's.
Carly: I don't see how that can hurt --
Jax: So if I am ever charged again for any kind of rico violation, I would lose everything. Probably go to jail and you would lose everything. So, do you want to tell me again how brilliant your idea was?
Jason: What was Logan's attitude when he left the office?
Maxie: Furious. No, beyond that. He had just been humiliated and totally rejected. Lulu and I had to go back to work, and Kate was leaving for Manhattan, so Lulu rode down on the elevator to get some last-minute instructions from Kate.
Jason: Which means you were alone in the office.
Maxie: Exactly. I went to take a fax into Kate's office, and I heard the elevator doors open. I thought that maybe it was Lulu or Kate coming back, but it was Logan.
Jason: Was he looking for Lulu?
Maxie: He was looking for me. He said it was my fault, that I was the reason Lulu dumped him. I'd ruined his life. As if they would have lasted 10 minutes if Logan hadn't jumped into bed with me.
Jason: Let's just stay on track. You said Logan blamed you?
Maxie: Yeah, I tried to talk him down.
Jason: What did you say?
Maxie: That he could just leave, and we could forget any of that stuff had happened. I tried to pick up the phone and call security, but he lost it.
Jason: Did you think he would kill you?
Maxie: He was tearing at my clothes, saying stuff like, if I wanted him so badly, I could finally have him. He just completely lost it. I mean, I tried to fight him off, but he threw me over Kate's desk, and I must have hit my head or something.
Jason: Do you have cuts? Do you have any bruises?
Maxie: What am I, on trial?
Jason: No, not yet.
Spinelli: Stone Cold, she's been through a most grievous trauma. Perhaps you should question her with just a little more sensitivity.
Jason: Are you okay? Do you want to stop?
Maxie: I'm fine, Spinelli. Ahem. No, there were no visible cuts or bruises, but it hurt.
Jason: Okay, so what happened after Logan hit you?
Maxie: I was lying on the ground. I looked up and I remember thinking, you know, that was it. I was trapped. I'm going to die now. And then Logan looked out the window. It's like he sensed something. You know, now I know that he was looking at Johnny's penthouse, 'cause you can see it from Kate's office. And that's really the last thing I remember before I lost consciousness. And when I woke up later, Johnny was there. I told him about Logan looking out the window, so we figured he had gone over to Johnny's penthouse. And when we got there, Lulu was just kneeling over Logan's body. And he was already dead.
Trevor: Commissioner, with all due respect, you are not the D.A. You got no business making deals.
Mac: I can make a plea happen, Johnny. Just say the word.
Johnny: How?
Trevor: Shut up.
Mac: Logan Hayes was a loose cannon. You two brawled in public days before he died. A manslaughter plea will probably get you five years. You'll be out in two.
Trevor: Johnny's not going to prison. Whoa. That idea is acceptable, neither to Anthony Zacchara, nor me.
Mac: Two years, life without parole, or lethal injection. It's your choice.
Trevor: You are not going to make any deal.
Lucky: Lulu, what are you thinking?
Sasha: Mr. Corinthos, thank you for coming. This way. Mr. Corinthos, this is my client Andrei Karpov. Andrei, Sonny Corinthos
Karpov: Mr. Corinthos.
Sonny: Mr. Karpov.
Sasha: I'll leave you gentlemen to speak privately.
Karpov: It is good of you to agree to see me.
[Karpov chuckles]
Karpov: A man as busy as you.
[Sonny chuckles]
Sonny: I have consolidated my interests. I'm focusing on the coffee business at this point.
Karpov: I had heard. It seems impossible, given your success in other areas.
Sonny: It's a long story. I just want to simplify.
Karpov: I had hoped you might consider consulting work.
Sonny: Go on.
Karpov: I need an associate here in Port Charles. An ally, if you will. I was hoping you'd be that person.
Noah: I -- um -- I love being Eli Love. It was a fantasy fulfilled, you know?
Anna: Mm-hmm.
Noah: I just -- uh -- I liked it too much. I not only embraced the concert, I embraced his whole lifestyle, the late nights, the parties, loving the attention from -- uh, beautiful women like you.
Anna: That is a problem, why?
Noah: I'm an alcoholic. And Eli isn't, or so he tells himself. So when I became Eli, I --
Anna: You really became Eli.
Noah: Yeah. Had a drink and then another drink and -- um -- I'm just fortunate that the concert came so soon and Eli's entourage left town, you know? Otherwise, I -- I might've hurt some of my patients, going into the O.R. drunk. Anyway, so I -- I checked myself into rehab and I got sober and when I got out, I felt like I had to get my priorities straight, which is why I went to work for Doctors Without Borders. I'm thankful for that every day of my life.
Anna: You're a good man.
Noah: No, I'm just a slow learner. I -- uh -- it took me years to figure it out, you know? And in the process, I lost any chance I could have for a real relationship with my son. So -- um -- I'm a work in progress, you know? My sobriety is my lifeline and as much as I would dearly love to have an encore as Eli Love, I can't risk it.
Kate: Hey, I didn't expect to see you back.
Jax: I just wanted to give you a heads up. You may get a call from Claudia Zacchara.
Kate: I really don't like the sound of that.
Jax: Yeah, it was one of Carly's ideas, yeah. She wanted Claudia to buy my shares of "Crimson," so just --
Kate: Uh, okay, look, Jax, what you do in your personal life is your business, but you need to handle Carly.
Jax: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Kate: I will not let her sabotage "Crimson." My reputation is already on thin ice.
Jax: Okay, I understand.
Kate: No, if you even think about selling to Claudia Zacchara, I will take you to court and sue you for breach of contract and bad faith.
Jax: I'm not selling to Claudia Zacchara. And if I were to sell to anyone, I would have the decency to tell you first. And just for the record, Kate, don't ever threaten me again.
Nikolas: So, Doctor, how's it -- how's it going for you so far?
Matt: Um -- the doctoring?
Nikolas: Mm-hmm.
Matt: It's going just fine. Things are picking up here. That's good.
Nikolas: Yeah, they sure are. I mean, as long as I'm paying for your fellowship, I might as well get my money's worth, right?
Matt: Right, right, not that I'm not grateful for every cent --
Nikolas: Nah.
Matt: But these days, I'm just working for the love of it.
Nikolas: Mm-hmm. Well, I have to say, you did a nice job diagnosing that -- that little girl that was in here this morning.
Matt: Yeah.
Nikolas: If you hadn't gotten her to G.H. so quickly, she could've died, you know.
Matt: Um, yeah. Yeah, I -- last I heard, she's stabilized.
Nikolas: Yeah, yeah, she is. Listen, does it -- does it worry you at all that we found yet another facility giving out fake medication?
Matt: I don't know. Does it worry you?
Nikolas: Yeah. Yeah, I mean --
Matt: I mean, anytime any patient is at risk --
Nikolas: Yeah, I mean it's quite unsettling, really. I've -- I've never seen anything like this, have you?
Leyla: If you're still trying to hide the fact that you like Nikolas, I suggest you stop staring. Or is it Dr. Hunter you can't keep your eyes off of?
Nadine: Actually, it is Dr. Hunter I'm interested in right now.
Matt: Counterfeit drugs are a big business.
[Cell phone rings]
Matt: It's big money.
Nikolas: Yeah.
Matt: Sorry.
Nikolas: No. No.
Matt: Um -- I have to take this.
Nikolas: Of course, sure.
Matt: Yeah? Yeah, hang on.
Matt: No, no, thank -- thank you for calling me back so quickly. It's important. No, listen, listen, the nurse overheard our conversation before. No, that's very kind, but I will -- I will handle her myself.
